Jake walked out of the ER and into the waiting room in a determined stride. When he reached Javy, who was sitting in one of the chairs, he grabbed him by the collar of his shirt, lifted him out of the chair and pushed him violently against the nearby wall.

"How could you!?"

Javy suddenly understood the cause of Jake's outrage.

"I was being objective, which was something you weren't," replied Javy.

"You had no right to mess with my life!"

The front entrance automatic doors opened letting Bradley and Natasha enter the waiting room. Javy had told them partly what had happened and not knowing that she and Jake were no longer together, had decided to come and comfort him.

Jake felt arms grab him as Bradley pulled him away from Javy.

"Jake what are you doing man?" asked Bradley.

"Me?" said Jake as he took a step back and looked at Bradley. "Why don't you ask him what he's done," said Jake as he pointed a menacing finger at Javy who was straightening his shirt.

"I was looking out for you, that's what friends do."

"Bullshit. The Javy I used to know, would never have told Liv to break up with me, especially not to potentially save my career."

"I only asked her to think about it."

"Oh, well that's just great," said Jake as he threw his hands up in the air as a sign of acceptance. "And you thought she was going to be selfish? Well, I'll tell you a little something about her, she's not selfish."

Jake narrowed his eyes. "And I'm pretty sure you hoped it would be the case, because she was going to do just what you insinuated, she should do."

"It was going to end in a catastrophe, if I hadn't stepped in."

Jake thrust his hand toward the ER doors. "And what do you think that is? She's in surgery fighting for her life and on top of it all, there's a high chance that he sexually assaulted her! I hope you're happy now!"

Bradley put his hand on Jake's shoulder. "Let's go get some fresh air."

He gently led Jake toward the front entrance. "Come on, Jake."

Seth walked into the gallery of the OR room and went to the intercom.

"How's it going?"

"Her liver is in bad shape," replied Stuart as he took out drenched lap pads from out of her abdomen. "The bastard who did this to her, didn't hold back."

"Can you salvage it?"

"I'm going to do my best."

Seth walked out and headed back to the ER.

Bradley looked out at the parking lot across from where they were sitting on a bench. Jake had opened up about everything considering his relationship with Liv.

"You can't blame yourself for what happened," said Bradley.

"If I hadn't convinced her to go out with me, none of this would have happened."

Bradley shook his head. "That's not true. The violence Cyclone brought down on her today would have happened sooner or later. The fact that she met you made it that she knew she could call you when she needed. You might just be the difference between her staying alive and dying."

"I want to kill someone right now."

"I get it. If something happened to Natasha, I'm sure I'd feel the same way, but you need to push that feeling aside. She's going to need you when she comes out of the OR."

"Javy had no right to do what he did."

"No, he didn't. Even if he thought he was doing right be you, it doesn't mean that I agree with how he went about doing it."

He turned and looked at Jake. He was a mess, and he could tell.

"You love her."

"As crazy as it may sound, yes, I love her, Bradley."

"Then you're going to have to tell her when she wakes up, because from where I stand, I'd say she just as much feels the same about you, otherwise she wouldn't have done what she did."

After a half an hour, they returned inside, and Natasha handed a bottle of water to both. Javy walked up to Jake.

"I know that what I'm about to say won't change anything, but I'm sorry, man. And don't think for one minute that I don't regret what I said to her, and I know I'm partly to blame for what she is going through… what you are going through."
