Author's Notes:

Hey there, folks! Now I know that this is pretty much out of the blue, but I've decided to post a story that I've written many years ago but for one reason or another I've never gotten around to actually posting it. So as you can see here, this is a parody of one of my favorite Disney movies, "The Hunchback of Notre Dame". Even though this is largely a Days Of Our Lives-centric fanfic, it also features many characters from an old web series called "Youthful Daze" that I used to love many, many years ago. So hopefully in the next couple of days I'm going to be able to post the entire story, (yes, it's actually finished, thank God, because I don't know if I would be able to finish it at this point if it wasn't already).

So without further adieu, enjoy!

Chapter 1 – Prologue

It was a bright, sunny day in the town of Salem as many of its citizens were walking about in a large square. A male voice sings as lively, upbeat music starts to play.

Here in this great city of Salem, USA, sing the bells of St. Luke

A young auburn haired middle-aged woman patrolled the streets with a gun in her hand.

A female copper patrols the streets through the bells of St. Luke.

On the other side of town a brown haired man with a heavy mustache and donned in scrubs was busy looking after a patient in a hospital room.

The most holy doctor god performs miracles through the bells of St. Luke

Meanwhile to the northwest in a dive bar an auburn haired woman dressed in a black and white barista outfit and with a soft, docile, angelic face watched in disgust as another woman with reddish brown hair, eerily similar physical features and dressed in a black outfit starts a fight with another patron.

Crazy drunk women start fights in bars through the bells of St. Luke

The camera then pans over to St. Luke as it rises up to the ominously looking bell tower with the bells ringing loudly and birds soaring in the air.

And the big bells sing as loud as thunder, with the little bells singing as soft as a psalm

It then does a long tracking shot from up above as it scans the entire city of Salem with the bells still ringing in the background.

And some say the soul of the city is the toll of the bells… the bells of St. Luke.

The camera then zooms down and close to reveal a lanky, tall man with messy blonde hair and a goofy deposition standing on top of a lone bench as he was talking to a group of young children and strumming along a guitar.

"What a great city we have, kids. So many sounds, so many places, so many interesting and cool creatures, so many people and so many cultures all make it awesome. And here especially in St. Luke we have some of the most beautiful bells in the entire city. But they surely don't ring by themselves."

"They don't?" a small Rory-like puppet piped in and then Rory slapped his back with narrowed eyes and a mischievous grin.

"Of course not, dude!" he chuckled and then he turned his attention to a church up there in the horizon with a tall tower hovering in the sky.

"But up there in the mysterious, dark bell tower lives a mysterious bell ringer. Who exactly is this man?"

"Who?"

What is he exactly?"

"What?"

"How did he end up there in the first place?"

"How?"

Rory then gave the puppet a noogie with a laugh as he then lit up a joint and took a brief smoke.

"Pipe down dude, and let your old man Rory tell you a very fascinating yet bizarre tale of a man… and a monster…"

The scene then fades into black as it soon changes to a lonely old pier under the cover of darkness. The camera then zooms in to a group of refugees huddled together in a boat with a light olive-skinned Hispanic woman with dark hair dressed in a brown cloak and holding a shrieking baby boy.

Dark was the night when our story began in the pier of Salem

An older, olive skinned man with a scruff and dark brown eyes glared at the younger woman with a sneer.

"Shut that baby up or we're going to get caught!"

"Hush, my little one! Please be good for Mommy!" the woman whispered frantically yet softly to her infant.

Forces of gypsies desperately sought refuge in the great city of Salem

The group of gypsies soon got off the boat and approached a local watchman as he then looked at then sternly.

"I hereby give you permission to safely enter the premises of this city."

But alas, a trap had been laid for the gypsies! And they gazed up in fear and alarm!

But just then a barrage of gunfire rang out as the group ducked and huddled for protection. They soon looked up to see a gang of policemen surround them with weapons in hand and see a mysterious, shadowy person advance towards them on a horse.

At the man who held the fate of the city in his hands in all of St. Luke.

"Judge Milhouse!" one of the male gypsies exclaimed in horror as the mysterious figure moved out of the shadows and revealed himself as a man with smoldering, cold, ruthless eyes, and a devastating gorgeous, handsome and dashing man with puckered lips and dark brown hair. He was dressed in a black hat with an overflowing black frock.

Judge Randy Milhouse longed to purge the world of vice and sin.

Randy then looked on with a cool, calm demeanor as he viewed the gypsies with disgust and contempt.

And he saw corruption everywhere except within.

"Bring these gypsies into the police station. I'll deal with them at once," he sneered.

"Hey, you there! What is that you're holding?" one of the officers barked at Gabi as she shielded her baby from him.

Randy then turned his cold eyes on her. "Hiding stolen goods, no doubt. Take them from her."

The scene then briefly flashed to Rory, who then took another puff from his joint.

"And that's when she decided to run."

The scene then flashed back to the pier as Gabi bolted and raced out into the town. A large group of officers galloped on their horses as they took turns firing at her multiple times.

Gabi then screamed as she ducked and swerved to avoid the bullets zapping right over her as she tried to run as fast as she could. She then dashed past the statue of Alice & Tom Horton as she headed right for St. Luke's. As soon as she reached the door, she fell on her knees and banged frantically with her fist, pleading and wailing.

"Sanctuary, please give us sanctuary!" she cried.

The officers then caught up to her as they gathered around in a half circle, blocking off her only means of escape. They soon held up their guns as Randy pushed in through and approached Gabi.

Gabi then turned around to face the young judge as she started sobbing, still clutching her baby.

"Have mercy on me, my lord!" she screamed.

"Hand over the goods," Randy growled as he got off his horse and advanced towards her with his shotgun in hand.

"No, please, it's my baby," Gabi sniffled.

"Hand over the goods, you gypsy vermin!" Randy roared and he soon lunged at the baby and attempted to rip it away from Gabi's arms. Gabi struggled to keep the baby out of his hands as she tugged and pulled as hard as she could.

"Get your hands off my baby!"

The gun then went off as Gabi stumbled backwards in a state of shock. She then looked down to see a pool of blood materializing on her chest and then she collapsed on her side, dead.

Randy then walked over to Gabi's corpse and then picked up the squealing baby. As soon as he pulled back the blanket, he was surprised by what he saw.

"A baby?" he whispered and then he studied him even closer and was horrified by what he saw.

"A monster?"

He then placed the baby down on the ground as he then looked around for something to use. He then found a huge rock and picked it up from the ground. He then knelt down and looked at the baby. He then lifted it up as the dramatic music grew in a crescendo and held it up right as a bolt of lightning crashed across the sky and a peal of thunder roared.

But just as he was about to commit his dastardly deed he heard a loud male voice cry out.

"Stop!"

Randy then turned around to see an elderly old man dressed in a brown robe.

"I'm sending it back to Hell where it belongs."

Father Matt then glared darkly at Randy with a stern expression as he walked over to Gabi's body and cradled her.

See the innocent blood that you have spilled on the steps of St. Luke

"I'm guiltless. She ran, I pursued," Randy insisted firmly.

Father Matt's expression grew darker and angrier at the sight of Randy's insolence.

Now you must add the child's blood to your guilt on the steps of St. Luke!

"My conscience is clear!" Randy shot back at Father Matt.

Father Matt then pointed his finger at Randy.

You can lie to yourself and your minions. You can claim you haven't a qualm. But you can never run nor hide from what you've done from the eyes… the very eyes of St. Luke!

As he said this, Randy turned around to see a statue of Jesus looking right at him near the church and his face paled over like he'd seen a ghost.

And for the very first time in his life of power and control…

Panic then overtook Randy as he was scrambling to figure out what his next course of action should be.

Randy felt a twinge of fear for his immortal soul…

"What must I do?" Randy whispered.

"Care for the child as if it's your own," Father Matt answered as he turned towards the church.

"What? Am I to be saddled with this misshapen…?" Randy snarled as he then looked at the baby and his face quickly softened. "Very well then. Let him live with you in the church."

"Live here? Where?" Father Matt frowned.

"Anywhere," Randy answered as he then glanced up at the bell tower with a smirk.

Just as long as he's kept up there where no one else could see…

"The bell tower perhaps. Who knows, our Lord works in mysterious ways."

And then he turned towards the baby with an even more evil smile.

Even this foul creature may prove one day to be… of use to me…

The scene then changed back to Rory as he leaned towards the children and they looked on with anticipation.

"And Randy gave the child an unusual name, a name fit for a man but ill-suited for a boy his age… a name henceforth to be Drew…"

The scene then changed back again as Randy was shown ascending up the bell tower with an infant Drew as he then grew into a teenager and then into a barely grown young adult with a very unusual mug and a huge hump on his back.

Now is the riddle to guess if you can, sing the bells of St. Luke.

Who is the monster and who is the man…

Drew then reaches the very top of the bell tower and starts to ring the biggest bell.

Sing the bells, bells, bells, bells, bells, bells, bells, bells, bells… of… St. Luke!
