A few yards away from the camper, Kattie was taking some pictures of the pride.

"Were you able to get what you were needing Kattie?" asked a male lion. They were all huddled around her while she checked the photos.

"I sure did, thanks for all the help," said Kattie with a smile.

"Why are you taking these pictures?" asked a cub that was sitting on her lap.

"While my mom is helping animals as a vet, I work as a photographer for a magazine that shows the beauty of nature and they want some pictures of you all," said Kattie as she got a magazine out of her bag to show them.

"Some humans like to do that another way," said a male lion with a scar on his face while he turned away from the others.

"And I'm sorry about those humans, I wish they didn't exist but there are at least some people out there trying to help, my mother and I included," said Kattie while putting the cub on her lap down on the ground to stand up.

"But I have to thank you for trusting us, Badru," said Kattie who had walked over to pet the lion like she had Omari.

"I could tell that you two were different the second I met you, your scents are much different from the humans that gave me my scar," said Badru. Kattie then noticed a young cub staring at the camper in the distance.

"You worried, Amara?" asked Kattie while walking over to sit down next to the cub.

"Yeah," said Amara.

"It's scary when a parent has to have surgery, right?" asked Kattie.

"Did one of yours have surgery, Kattie?" asked Amara as she turned her little head to look at the human.

"My dad, though his surgery was on something different," said Kattie.

"He had to have his pancreas taken out," she said.

"Is that an organ?" asked a surprised Amara.

"Yeah, but it's one of the ones a human can live without and he's alright now, so how about we keep faith in your dad pulling through?" asked Kattie.

"Okay," said Amara while rubbing her head against Kattie's arm.
