Chapter 2, here we come. Enjoy the rest of the hilarity that follows, yeehah
As soon as they returned upstairs, the quartet headed straight for Morgana's room, Peter hammering frantically on the door with his right fist. "Morgana. Morgana, it's us. Are you in there?" he shouted. No one answered, so he pounded on the door again. "Morgana, are you in there? Open up, we need to speak with you."
Again though, silence followed, but then the door latch was raised on the other side, and the door began to slowly creak open, as is the room's occupant was afraid of who they might see on the other side, but at last it opened to reveal... "Morgana?!" the young Kings and Queens of Narnia echoed as one, staring in shock at seeing Morgana bearing the green skin, wrinkled nose and black robes of a traditional story book originated witch.
"Lucy? Edmund? Peter?!" Morgana gasped with equally as much horror at seeing what her friends had become themselves, and then noticed the transformed Susan. "Nimueh?!" she went on, saying another name.
Confusion came over Susan as she shook her head. "It's me, Morgana. Susan," she said, still speaking as the woman she had been turned into, prompting Morgana to stare all the more.
"What's happened to you four?" Morgana said, the disbelief and shock still in her voice and on her face, "And why's Susan Nimueh?"
"Is that the High Priestess lady you told us of before who caused a lot of trouble during Merlin's first year here until he ended her on that place called the Isle of the Blessed?" Edmund asked, he and his siblings having been told about Nimueh by their new friends in Camelot after the defeat of Morgana and Agravaine.
Morgana nodded. "That's right, Edmund," she confirmed.
"And now you're saying that that's who the Goblin's turned me into?" Susan pressed.
"Woah woah woah," Morgana gasped, staring boggle eyed at Susan, "The Goblin?"
Lucy nodded. "That's what we just said," she stated in reply.
"You mean the one from a year ago that caused all sorts of chaos and havoc for us all when Merlin set it loose and it possessed Gaius and did all of what it did?" Morgana exclaimed in further exasperation.
"Yes," the four children chorused as one in answer to Morgana's further words.
"And now it's loose again, thanks to us and Merlin releasing it from its box, and has taken over Merlin," Peter explained further.
"And turned us into all of this," Edmund took over, gesturing to himself and his siblings.
"Don't forget us too," Mrs Beaver's voice sounded out, and they looked to see her approaching holding the big furry hat that was once Mr Beaver in her paws.
Morgana shook her head. "You four..." she began in exasperation, but said no more, so much was her disbelief at what she had just heard, but then a whistle sounding out brought their attention and caused them to look in the direction of which it had come.
"Boo," Goblin Merlin, still in the guise of old Dragoon, said, giving a little wave with his hand before then hurrying off back the way he had obviously just come from.
"Come back here, you..." Peter shouted, sprinting off down the corridor in pursuit, his brother and sisters, Morgana and Mrs Beaver following right behind him. But then, as they turned into another of the corridors, Peter collided with someone coming the other way, he and they both falling to the floor, Peter groaning from the impact, but then gasping, along with the others, as they looked upon a figure wrapped from head to toes in bandages, with only the eyes visible, their hands held out stiffly in front of them- a mummy, or rather someone dressed as a mummy, for they could all hear muffled cries beneath the bandages on the face.
"What now?" Susan sighed, and kneeling down began to free whoever it was who had no doubt become the latest victim of Goblin Merlin's mischievous intentions. When the bandages were removed from the face, they saw that it was George, the young man Arthur had taken on as his new servant, after relinquishing Merlin of the status and bestowing the new honours of being his brother and advisor, and who apparently made a lot of jokes about brass of all things, and who was now looking between each and every one of them with a very startled facial expression.
"What happened?" Edmund asked.
"Some old man in a wierd costume, that's what," George frantically answered as Susan freed him from the rest of his restraints, "He just walked in as I was washing Their Majesties' clothes, and next moment he's cast a spell and I'm tightly bound in them." He gestured to the removed bandages. "But never mind them," he went on, gesturing to the transformed children and Morgana, "What's happened to all of you?"
But once again, before an answer could be given, they were interrupted, this time by Gwen's voice calling out "Morgana", and a moment later its owner came haring into the corridor. But upon seeing them...
"Gwen?!" everyone, the Pevensies, Morgana, George and Mrs Beaver, all echoed together as one, their horror rocketing even more skyward at seeing that Gwen's face was like that of a cat, the eyes, ears, fur, whiskers, everything, and poking out from behind her, just like Peter with his Devil appearance, was a cat's tail.
Gwen herself gasped at the sight of everyone else, apart from of course George, in their own transformations. "What's going on?" she demanded, "What's happening to us all?"
But then suddenly, a very loud sound, which was obviously a gas exchange, was heard, everyone turning to Edmund, for that was where the sound had just come from. "Edmund..." Susan gasped, her brother giving only a look of sheer embarrassment.
Lucy, despite herself and everything that had been happening for the last amount of minutes, broke down in huge fits of giggling, everyone now turning to her. "I think what Merlin told us of what happened when the Goblin was unleashed the first time is happening again," she said, but then another gas exchange sounded out, Lucy's giggles replaced with embarrassment, her hands coming up over her mouth.
"I think we'd better split up. Some of us go in search of Merlin, the rest go and see what might very have happened to Arthur and Gaius," Peter spoke in recommendation, only for him to then emit an even louder gas exchange, face dissolving into embarrassment.
"Uh, yes, Sire," George agreed, too stunned to say anymore.
"And the Knights of Camelot too," Susan also pointed out.
Gwen then felt the same process building up in her bum, and tried hard to hold it in, but it was no use and she emitted a fart, hands coming up over her face as embarrassment now overcame her.
As Susan now sounded off a fart herself, Peter looked between them all. "Well come on, let's go," he urged, only for Morgana and George to then emit gas exchanges themselves, gasping as they did so. "Now," Peter ordered loudly, and that did it, as they all hurried off together down the corridor, and then split up in, Lucy, Susan, Edmund, Morgana and Mrs Beaver heading in the direction of Gaius's chambers, Gwen, Peter and George for Arthur and Gwen's quarters, but not before Lucy emitted one last fart as they did so.
Upon reaching Gaius's door, Susan having broken off to go and find the Knights of Camelot, Edmund knocked rapidly on it, but instead of the usual to expect words of "Come in" a strange, muffled sound came from the other side of the door. "Gaius?" Morgana called, "Gaius, it's Morgana, and Lucy and Edmund." No answer still, "Can we come in?" The strange noise sounded out again, confusing the brother and sister and Morgana ever more as they looked to each other.
Edmund shrugged. "Guess we had better let ourselves in," he answered simply, Lucy and Morgana nodding, prompting Edmund to open the door and leading the way in, Mrs Beaver bringing up the rear, only for them to see that the room was empty.
"Gaius?" Edmund called, the four of them looking around but not seeing the old man anywhere. "Gaius?" he tried again, and then noticed that the door to Merlin's old bedroom was slight ajar. Indicating to Lucy and Morgana, they and Mrs Beaver approached it, Morgana reaching out with her right arm and pushing so that it slowly opened.
As soon as it did, they all gasped yet again, and seeing Gaius, or what looked like Gaius, except that his head was now that of a grey furred goat, complete with the backwards pointing horns, sat on the bed.
"What's happened to you?" Morgana asked. And in response, the goat-headed Gaius, instead of speaking words, emitted the bleats a normal goat would do, sounding them for several seconds and gesturing to his head with both hands before ceasing.
"Well, talk about becoming a stubborn old goat for real," Edmund muttered, he and Lucy and Morgana unable to stop breaking down in fits of laughter at the words, Goat Gaius doing a gesture with his head as if he was rolling his eyes, before they calmed down and returned to reality.
"Did Merlin do this to you?" Lucy asked, Goat Gaius giving a small noise as if to say 'Yes'.
"He's been taken over by the Goblin from last year," Morgana explained, receiving a response as if to say "Yes, I know" from Goat Gaius.
"Look what he's done to us," Edmund said, gesturing to himself, his sister, Morgana and the large fur hat that was once Mr Beaver, Mrs Beaver still holding it, him, in her paws.
"What can we do to help?" Lucy asked, only to get a bleating response which might have been like "How should I know?"
"I don't think he's going to be much help when he's a goat, Lu," Edmund pointed out, the two of them breaking down in giggling fits again at that.
"I know how we can hopefully undo all this," Morgana answered in response to Lucy's question, looking briefly to Goat Gaius. "We'll figure out what to do, Gaius," she assured him with a sympathetic look, "Stay here." And with Gaius giving a bleat as if to say "That's all I can do", the three of them and Mrs Beaver exited the bedroom and re-entered the main room, intent on finding a solution to all the chaos of the last hour.
Peter, Gwen and George approached the closed doors of Arthur and Gwen's quarters, and after some hesitation, as if gearing themselves up to reveal to the new King of Camelot what had become of them, Gwen pounded on one of the doors. A moaning noise sounded out in response.
"Arthur? Arthur, it's Guinevere, Peter and George," Gwen called out, "Are you in there?" Again, instead of a worded response of either "Yes" or "Come in", a moan was all they got in response, and Gwen opened the door and lead the way in.
"Arthur?" she called again, seeing no one about in the room.
"Sire?" George tried himself. But again, no response came from anywhere as they walked forward, skirting round the big four poster bed where the King and Queen slept, until...
Gwen gasped, Peter and George staring open mouthed, as they looked upon Arthur, sat, or cowering more like, on the floor next to the bed, his ears those of a donkey, and not just them, but unlike the first experience his nose had now joined his ears in resembling that of a donkey as well. And just as the other three were doing with him, he also stared wide eyed in utter shock at Gwen's cat face and tail and Peter's devil appearance and clothing.
"Uh, what's..." Peter began, but his question was answered by Arthur emitting a series of loud braying noises, again just like a donkey would do, gesturing to his face with both hands as well, before then ceasing and falling silent.
The moment he did so, Peter laughed uproariously, Gwen and George unable to stop themselves from joining in despite their best efforts to stay serious. "So this is what Merlin meant earlier when he told us of what happened to you the first time the Goblin was unleashed," Peter managed to say at last, Arthur simply giving a noise as if to say "Yes".
"Except without the nose," Gwen said, she and the boys only laughing all the more while Arthur just rolled his eyes.
"I'm afraid me, Lu, Susan, Ed and Merlin have released the Goblin again, Arthur," Peter finally said in truthful admission, "Hence why you see us like this." Arthur simply gave a sound like "Oh for goodness sake" and another roll of the eyes in response.
"Can we do anything to undo this, your Majesty?" George at last asked himself, addressing the question to Gwen.
Gwen nodded. "The same thing me and Merlin did the first time in order to stop the Goblin," she answered, looking back to Arthur. "Stay here, Arthur, we'll be back," she assured him, Merlin giving a long bray as if to say "What do you expect me to do?", Gwen, Peter and George unable to stop emitting another round of laughs as they hurried from the room.
Susan hurried through the corridors of the castle, heading for the entrance doors in her intent on finding Sir Leon, Gwaine, Lancelot, Elyan and Percival, the five men who, amongst all the Knights of Camelot, were the most trusted in terms of friends and allies of both their new King and Queen and Merlin and now also the four young Kings and Queens of Narnia, when Goblin Merlin, now back to his normal form and in his usual clothes, suddenly stepped out from around a corner a few metres in front of her, Susan halting as he did so.
"Catch me if ya can, girly," he challenged, his smug cheekiness having not faltered in the slightest, even after all his acts of turning everyone, including Susan, into whatever.
"This ends now, you slippery little green menace," Susan shouted in Nimueh's voice, and as Goblin Merlin turned and ran off back out of sight, Susan tore after him, finding a boost which allowed her to sprint at extra speed. So as she reached the end of the corridor she was currently in and sprinted round the corner, she just managed to see the top of Goblin Merlin's head as he disappeared down a staircase.
Not wasting a second, Susan continued her pursuit, gradually gaining on her possessed friend, both of them ignoring the other people, servants, nobles and whoever else, they encountered, who stared astounded at the apparently to them completely strange woman who chased past them after Merlin.
At last, as Goblin Merlin reached the entrance doors to the castle and hurriedly pushed them open, Susan came within striking distance of him, and just as he was about to hare down the stone steps to the courtyard beyond she launched herself forward, tackling him and sending them both tumbling and rolling down the steps until they both came to rest, with quite jarring impacts, loud groans escaping from their mouths, on the stone cobbles of the courtyard.
"Nimueh?!" Sir Leon's voice sounded out in exclamation, and looking in its direction Susan closed her eyes and sighed.
"Not you too," she remarked at seeing what had to be the group of five which consisted of Sir Leon, Elyan, Lancelot, Gwaine and Percival standing before her and the downed Goblin Merlin, staring down at them in wide eyed astonishment, but who instead, like Edmund, had the faces, pointed ears and fangs and all, of vampires. But unlike Edmund, who had retained his royal Narnian clothing after the Goblin had performed what he had on the brother and sister quartet, the men's usual chainmail and red cape outfits had been replaced by the full on traditional vampire outfit of red and black cape and trousers.
"How on Earth are you still alive?" Lancelot demanded.
Susan held up her hands. "It's me, Susan," she explained, desperate to prove it was her before one of them decided to act upon the assumption she was the real Nimueh, "The Goblin changed us into whatever after Merlin released it from its box-"
"So that explains why we're like this!" Gwaine interrupted, gesturing to himself and his fellow Knights turned vampires with both hands. "That pesky green magic mischief and chaos causing devil has done it all."
"Indeed I did, ya nincompoop of a twit," Goblin Merlin spoke, having stood up without the men and Susan noticing, the Knights turned Vampires staring dumbfounded at him in response to the rude words as he meanwhile gave them a wave and sly grin, "Hello, it's me, within Merlin rather than the silly old man Gaius this time."
At once, hearing that, the five Vampire-Knights drew their swords and aimed them at their friend, or rather at the Goblin using their friend as his new host. "Get out of Merlin right this instant," Elyan demanded.
"Or I've a good mind to run you through right now," Sir Leon added in further seriousness.
"Relax, noble Knights, allow me to sort out your little problem." The deep growling voice that had just spoken the words seemed to come from everywhere at once, easily heard by all in the area. Susan's face lit up at once, mouth opening and forming a massive smile, while Goblin Merlin's one expressed one of terrified horror, as the five transformed Knights all turned, then parted to both sides, revealing the magnificene grace exuding figure of the Great Lion Aslan standing before them, his golden mane shining brightly in the sun. And next to him stood Mr Tumnus the Faun, staring in just as much astoundment at what he was seeing before him.
"Aslan!" Susan shouted with absolute joy, and not caring that she was still in the form of another woman rushed forward and wrapped her arms as tightly as she could around the lion's mane, burying her face in it, then released him and embraced Mr Tumnus.
"I assume that is you to whom I am addressing, Susan," Aslan remarked humouredly after the Faun and girl had finished their hug.
Susan nodded rapidly. "Yes, it's me," she answered at once, but was prevented from saying anymore as three more voices, those of her sister and brothers, echoed "Aslan!" as one, its owners, being of course Lucy, Edmund and Peter, emerging at a fast run from the entrance doors to the castle and down the steps. Morgana, Gwen and George followed right behind, Gwen and Morgana dragging the still goat head bearing Gaius and donkey ears and nose wearing Arthur with them, Mrs Beaver bringing up the rear still holding her hat transformed mate in her hands.
As soon as they reached Aslan, Lucy, Edmund and Peter flung their arms around his mane and hugged him tight, huge smiles, tears of joy and immense relief all showing on their faces at seeing his presence there, the Camelotians looking equally as pleased at the arrival of the Great Lion. And then Lucy, naturally being the first to do so, relaxed her hold on Aslan and with an equally as joyful "Mr Tumnus!" leapt into the arms of the Faun, wrapping her arms around his neck as he raised her off the ground and held her tight, mouth forming a smile, the two of them staying like that for quite a number of moments before they at last released each other and Mr Tumnus let Lucy down, allowing her to rejoin her brothers and sister.
"Well, it would seem as if the attempts by you four and the Beavers to bring Camelot into the Halloween spirit didn't exactly go as planned after all," Aslan addressed the young Kings and Queens of Narnia with a wonderful warm deep note bearing chuckle.
Peter sighed. "It would seem not," he agreed inevitably.
"All thanks to him," Mrs Beaver said indignantly, pointing at Goblin Merlin.
"Now now now, let's not be too hasty, ya furry flat-tailed rat," the Goblin responded with, raising his hands as if to protest his innocence, which was of course entirely wholly untrue to a tee, "After all, you and these young kiddies..." he gestured with an arm to the Pevensies, "...and Merlin agreed to release me from the box in the first place-"
"And now I believe it is time to put an end to your second round of mischief causing chaos at last, Goblin," Aslan interrupted, speaking in a dead serious tone of voice.
As everyone, Goblin Merlin included, all turned to him, Aslan emitted a tremendous roar which echoed out all around. Everyone who had been transformed by the Goblin's magic were then bathed in golden light, blinding everything so that everyone could no longer make out what on earth was happening to them, their ears filled by the mighty power of Aslan, not even hearing when Goblin Merlin himself suddenly started screaming. And then, Aslan ceased his roar and the golden glow died down, natural light returning and revealing...
"We're back!" Lucy squealed happily, her brothers and sister, as well as Gwen, Morgana, Arthur, Gaius and the five Knights of Camelot also seeing, in rock solid confirmation to the youngest Pevensie's two words, that they were indeed now back to normal. And so too, to his mate's equal delight, was Mr Beaver, full form and all, the two of them embracing happily.
"Yes," Susan cried, jumping in the air and pumping her left fist, she, Lucy, Edmund and Peter coming together in a tight foursome embrace, laughing at the sheer relief and joy at finally being back as themselves, before a sharp cough from Arthur interrupted it and brought their attention to the now folded arms and straight mouthed expression bearing King of Camelot.
"So you four are the reason behind all this, huh?" Arthur asked in a serious toned voice, looking them right in the eyes, "Me being subjected to the donkey ears and voice and nose, the flatulence, and everyone else of us, including you lot and George, being turned into whatever?"
"Calling me an old goat?" Gaius spoke next, his own arms folded across his chest as he looked to and addressed Edmund, having fully well heard the Pevensie brother's words from earlier despite not being able to talk due to having a goat's head.
"Well..." Susan began, chuckling embarrassingly, trying to find the right words to say in response to the two men's words.
"It weren't just them four scallywags who're entirely to blame, your Highness," Mr Beaver spoke up in support of his Kings and Queens.
"It was all of us together really, Arthur," came Merlin's voice now, everyone looking to him as embarrassment came upon his face and an irresistible laugh came to it too, "Lucy and her siblings told me about Halloween, the occasion they apparently celebrated back in their world, and I got the idea of releasing the Goblin in that we could perhaps use him to bring it to life here."
Morgana huffed. "Huh, well, that failed very dramatically, didn't it, Merlin!" she said pointingly.
"Uh, yes, I suppose it rather unfortunately did," Merlin agreed, blushing, "Not helped at all when the Goblin got inside me and took over."
"Where is the Goblin by the way?" George asked, reminding them of the very real topic at hand, "I hope it really is you we're hearing just now, Merlin."
"I think the answer to that is by your feet, George," Percival at last spoke himself, gesturing towards the ground. And as everyone looked in the direction to where he'd done so, their eyes widened at seeing what looked very much like a marble carved figure exactly alike the Goblin, arms held up and mouth open, body positioned as if he was about to spring forward.
"Is that..." Gwen began.
"Yes, Queen of Camelot," Aslan answered for her, "That is the same troublesome Goblin who was in Merlin, before the process of me changing you all back to your proper bodies also expelled him from the magician and gave him a rather more permanent position of imprisonment."
"That explains the pain I felt just now," Merlin muttered in realization.
"So, does that mean..." Arthur said, leaning down and tapping on the Goblin's marble head with his hand. Nothing happened.
"You will never have to worry about the green gold hungry devil ever again, King of Camelot," Aslan explained in assurance, "He's now as still as real marble and stone are. And that is how he will always be as his more permanent imprisonment, no magic will ever break it."
At hearing that, there were very clear to be heard deep breaths of relief from everyone, all of them happy to hear that the slippery Goblin would never trouble them or Camelot ever again, thanks to Aslan.
"But that still leaves the question of why you and your siblings and your pals the Beavers, and my own brother, inevitably of all people, did what you did in the first place, Lucy," Arthur now said, turning to and addressing the youngest of the Kings and Queens of Narnia.
"Well as Merlin said earlier after you and Gwen and Morgana left..." Lucy explained, shrugging innocently, repeating what their friend had told them himself, "Things have been rather quiet here for you lot here in Camelot the last few months. I mean, ever since we all came together to eliminate Morgause and Agravaine and their immortal army, and you and Gwen officially began ruling as Camelot's new King and Queen, nothing big has happened, according to Merlin."
"No one has tried to attack and take over Camelot, no trouble intent magical creature or being has infiltrated here in human guise to cause havoc and chaos, and you haven't had anything to complain and moan about ever since you relieved Merlin of servant duties forever and installed him as your brother and advisor while giving George his old job," Edmund added, the words again bringing chuckles from everyone, even Arthur himself, in response, George though just raising an eyebrow.
"Bored, is how Merlin's been feeling rather lately, with nothing better to do other than apparantly just fetching and picking plants and herbs for Gaius, lounging around with Morgana, or helping Arthur out with whatever small thing," Susan finished off with.
"Oh yes? And what do you think the last hour's absolute chaos has given in terms of that, eh, Queen Susan?" Gwaine asked challengingly, but good naturedly.
"It's why Lucy brought up the suggestion of Halloween in the first place," Peter said innocently himself, speaking to Arthur, "And you know, everyone does have good points. After all, with what Morgause did to your father after she and Agravaine took over Camelot with their army, executing him in front of you before you and everyone else fled the city into exile, and with how busy you and Gwen have certainly been ever since you took over as King and Queen, I think you haven't the chance to have some fun and relaxation time for quite a while."
"And I assume you still wish for that to happen anyway, and in this 'Halloween' tradition you say of?" Gwen asked.
The Pevensies looked between each other, then back to their Camelot friends. "Yes," Lucy confirmed.
Arthur contemplated on all this, and then shrugged. "OK, I guess you do all have some fair points indeed," he said, "But if we're going to do it more properly this time..." he now turned to Aslan, "Is there any possibility you could help at all on this occasion, Aslan?"
Aslan smiled. "I believe I can indeed, King Arthur," he responded with.
That night, a large crowd, consisting of civilian citizens of Camelot, gathered in the candle lit courtyard, filling the entire space so much that it was virtually a sea of humanity. Before them, positioned halfway up the staircase which lead up to the castle, stood their King and Queen, hand in hand with each other, with Merlin and Morgana, also hand in hand, Gaius, Lancelot, Sir Leon, Elyan, Gwaine and Percival on their left. And next to Arthur on the right were Aslan, Lucy, Susan, Edmund, Peter, the Beavers and Mr Tumnus.
"Citizens of Camelot," Arthur began, addressing the crowd in a loud clear for all to hear, "It has come to mine and Queen Guinevere's attention that ever since the final battle against the evil sorceress Morgause and the traitor Agravaine and their army a few months ago, Camelot hasn't borne witness to anything in way of a major threat or attempt by anyone to take over the city." Murmers and a few laughs of agreement sounded out, Arthur and Gwen allowing it.
"Well today, our four young Royal guests from the land of Narnia..." Gwen took over, looking briefly to the young Kings and Queens before turning back to the crowd, unable to stop her mouth from forming a smirk grin which didn't go unnoticed by everyone visible to see it, "...tried to help with that a little with some help from Merlin."
"Which went absolutely disastrously wrong, thanks to their attempted use of a Goblin," Morgana explained, she, Merlin, Arthur and Gwen and the others on the steps breaking into laughter at the reliving of the morning's events, Aslan giving a deep noted chuckle himself, the crowd joining in despite not at all knowing just what had been going on in the castle.
"I can assure the people that the Goblin will never bother us and Camelot ever again," Arthur said, looking to Aslan, "Thanks to the Great Lion."
"But now, our young Kings and Queens of Narnia have a proposition they would to make," Gwen went on, turning to the Pevensies, "Queen Lucy, would you and your siblings explain what you have had in mind all day this day?"
Lucy nodded, and together she and her sister and brothers explained as best they could about Halloween and how it was celebrated in their world, their words drawing very big interest in particular amongst the children who were in the crowd before them along with their parents.
"And that is why, tonight and tomorrow, I am declaring that everyone in Camelot should enjoy themselves," Arthur spoke again, "All normal daily work duties are to be stopped, everyone spend time with your families, and enjoy the celebrations." He turned once again to Aslan, a grin on his face, "Would you be so kind as to perform the honours, Aslan?"
"It would be my utmost pleasure, King of Camelot," Aslan answered, his voice alone a smile. He breathed deeply, purring like a giant kitten, and then, let out a really defeaning ear splitting roar that echoed out across Camelot, and was heard by all the city's inhabitants. The same golden light which had reveresed the Goblin's magical transformation acts on the Pevensies and their Camelotian friends earlier now erupted again, this spreading out across the city, blinding everything so that everyone could no longer make out what on earth was happening all around, all ears deaf to everything but the immense strength of the Great Lion's mighty lungs. And then, Aslan's roar and the golden glow died down, revealing...
"Wow," Lucy gasped, her mouth, and those of her siblings and everyone else dropping open at seeing that orange and black bunting and Halloween paper crafts and chains decorated the castle and all around, spooky pumpkin shaped crafts floating in the air while real ones, with candles burning within, stood at intervals around the area. Many of the crowd saw, to their utter shock, that they were now clad in various costumes and makeup, from wizards and witches to ghosts and skeletons.
And then, a loud bang sounded above, and everyone all looked up to see multi-coloured fireworks exploding and bursting and sending their sparks and light across the night sky and the ground.
Merlin looked to Morgana and Gaius, a sly smile on his face. "Shall we?" he asked, Morgana nodding and smiling herself, knowing what he was talking about, Gaius too catching on, and together, witnessed by all, the three raised their arms skyward and muttered a few words, their eyes briefly flashing gold, and a few of the fireworks suddenly took the forms of sparkling dragons, which swooped over the crowd like the real thing, everyone oooh'ing and aaahh'ing at the spectacle, the Pevensies, Mr and Mrs Beaver, Merlin and Morgana themselves laughing with wowed joy, some bats then appearing out of nowhere and fluttering around in the air as well.
"Well come on, let's go and join in the celebrations," Susan said to her siblings, and beckoning for them to follow her headed down the steps, Lucy, hand in hand with an equally as excited Mr Tumnus the Faun, Edmund, Peter and the Beavers obliging as they joined the crowd, who began to retreat from the courtyard and head back into the city to begin the night of fun their King had announced be bestowed upon them, the four young Kings and Queens of Narnia, the Beaver couple and Mr Tumnus going with them.
Arthur turned to Merlin and Morgana. "Go, go and join them," he told the couple.
Gwen nodded. "Think of it as your special punishment for releasing the Goblin upon us for a second time," she said with a cheeky grin, prompting laughs from the five Knights of Camelots and Gaius as well as Merlin and Morgana.
"As you wish, ya braying old clotpole," Merlin answered back in great humour, and as Arthur gave a shout of "Merlin!" he and Morgana, hand in hand, tore down the stairs at a run and caught up with the tail end of the crowd, disappearing into the city with them.
Arthur shook his head as the fireworks continued above. "Who would've thought this much fun would ever come upon Camelot?" he remarked.
"Indeed, King of Camelot," Aslan answered, the remaining individuals turning to him, "Who would've thought?" And with that, they chuckled again.
And there you are, hope it was all of what you were expecting, and that I did a pretty good job at delivering it all. Can't tell ya how much of a relief it is to finally have this done after four back breaking afternoons/evenings of working on this, now I can finally give myself a break and get back to some much welcome TV watching, haha.
So, to at last explain where the background details for the 'Merlin' parts of it stand, well, allow me... so here, Merlin unhesitatingly actually did reveal to Morgana in series 2 episode 3 that he has magic like her, making her EXTREMELY relieved and happy to know of said thing due to what happened at the episode's start as we know, so resulting in Merlin teaching Morgana how to handle and use her magic at the same levels as he himself. And this, Merlin revealing his massive secret to Morgana, meant that when Morgause appeared in 2x08 and tried to influence Arthur the way she did, Morgana lost any trust she woulda otherwise have put towards her newly discovered half-sister, after Morgause tried to turn her brother figure into a killer. Hence Morgause, when it came to her attack on Camelot with the Knights of Medhir in 2x12, cast the sleeping spell on the city and everyone herself without the need of someone being a vessel for it, meaning Merlin had to battle her full on with his magic in order to break the spell and stop the attack, and he managed to wound Morgause, though the evil blonde sorceress managed to escape.
And so, for the year+ that passed from Kilgharrah's newly gained freedom in the 'Merlin' series 2 finale to the beginning of the series 3 starting episode, Morgause, healed from her injuries by another sorceress who hated Uther as much as she did, plotted her revenge and plan to take over Camelot and rule as its leader, hence it was SHE, not Morgana, who got Agravaine into Camelot as her spy, the two of them working together as well as with Cenred to put everything into place. So basically, series 3 of 'Merlin' happened pretty largely as it did, but with Morgana as a good person instead, the villainess perpetrator being Morgause herself, and with Agravaine's additional presence in Camelot, and when the two-parter finale came with Morgause attacking Camelot with Cenred's army, made immortal by the Cup of Life and their blood, Agravaine also helping with said thing himself, EVERYONE, meaning Merlin, Arthur, Gwen AND Morgana together, as well as old man Gaius too, had to flee when Morgause took over, but not before they all bore witness to Uther's execution via Morgause doing said act herself.
And during their week or so long exile, Merlin, with backing support from Morgana, with whom he got together with in a proper relationship after they developed, built and then officially acted upon feelings for each other after Merlin revealed his magic to her, practically becoming lovers as a result, revealed exactly who he was to Arthur and Gwen, and that Morgana is the same too in ways, which naturally of course immensely shocked and angered the Pendragon Prince and his lover at first, considering how much Merlin and Morgana have both been to them beforehand, but then they came to accept Merlin and their sister figure for who they were, which caused a great sense of relief within Merlin and Morgana upon hearing Arthur and Gwen's words.
And as for where the Narnia parts in all this stand? Well, a few months passed since the victorious Battle of Beruna against the White Witch and her forces, and then afterwards the crowning and bestowing of the four kids as Narnia's new Kings and Queens, when the Big Four from Camelot and Gaius were forced into exile by Morgause and Agravaine, so as well as Lancelot Merlin, having heard fully well about the new King and Queen figures who replaced the White Witch as Narnia's rulers, sent word to them as well. Hence, when Lancelot and Percival arrived to help the Camelotian figures so did Peter, Edmund, Susan and Lucy, the four children aiding Arthur, Gwen, Merlin, Morgana, Gaius and the newly instated Knights of Camelot figures in the battle against Morgause and her army and Agravaine, which at the end of it saw everyone of the bad guys destroyed, Morgause herself personally slain by Arthur for everything she'd done to him, both when she'd first tried to turn him into a killer in 'Merlin' series 2, and then now executing his father. And then afterwards, Arthur and Gwen began their new rule as Camelot's King and Queen, also promising Merlin and Morgana absolute freedom as well as the restoration of the freedom use of magic throughout the Kingdom, with of course big thanks going to the Pevensies for coming to Camelot's aid themselves too.
And so, once again, happy Halloween, everyone, and I'll see ya next time with a brand new update to one of my proper story projects, hopefully my last week's annual leave of the year in a week's time will help a lot with that. Until then, adios amigos, from Max/Flashraven
