Lyna POV:
I woke up with the biggest migraine I have ever had. Opening my eyes was a struggle and all I wanted was to turn over in my bed and go back to sleep. Well it would have been possible if I was on a bed. My eyes opened and I ignored the pain in my head and eyes. I was completely shocked. It looked as if I was in an open field. The sky was cloudy and it looked miserable. Now was the time to freak out.
I got to my feet and looked down at what I was wearing. I was dressed in weird trousers with a top that hugged my waist. I couldn't even bring myself to feel self consciousness when the outfit hugged my curves. Another thing I noticed was my eyesight. I no longer needed glasses. My hair was longer and it was black. Okay this is definitely a dream of some sort. Not only do I think i think I look different, I am in an unfamiliar place.
A piercing roar shook the ground and I covered my ears. I looked up and stumbled several feet backwards. It was a dragon. It was insanely large and its scales were completely black. I couldn't stop the tears from falling down my face. I was drowning in fear and was deafened by the beating of my heart. "Balerion," I whispered.
That shocked me, but i knew to expect anything. I grew up believing in the supernatural and it seems the Gods have put me in the Game of Thrones. Which era am I in?
The Dance of the Dragon, the wind whispered. Now I really wanted to sob by seeing the images going through my head. I saw everything that happened. Wasn't I watching House of the Dragon before I slept? Was I put here to change things?
With confidence that shouldn't be there, I stepped forwards towards the towering dragon. The closer I got, the more the fear went away. It was like I had a connection to this dragon and i had to wonder if that is what the Targaryens felt. Were they able to feel their dragon the clearly? Feel their emotions?
The dragon lowered its head and nudged me enough that I stepped a few paces back. I let out a soft laugh and knew that I was safe. Balerion lowered even further and i climbed on its back. I took a deep breath to calm my nerves and said, "sōvēs! To Dragonstone Balerion."
I was afraid he wouldn't understand me, but when he thrusted himself in the air I knew he listened. I had no idea where I was going and could trust Balerion to get me there.
The feeling of flying was euphoric. It was at this moment I understood why people said the Targaryens were close to gods than men. The power I feel is coursing through my veins and it made me laugh. I wanted to soak up this feeling before I was thrust into war. i had always felt bad for the Blacks and I know that things will end differently. I was sent here for a reason and I will not let it go to waste.
—
It felt like hours had passed, but I stiffened when seeing Dragonstone. There wasn't enough words to describe it, but the simplest was 'dark'. It seemed like a very morose place and hoped she got there before Rhaenys did. The Queen Who Never Was did a disservice in not killing the Hightowers when she was able to.
Balerion hovered over a familiar bridge and I couldn't help but feel fear when I saw two familiar dragons. Ceraxes and Syrax. It gave me peace to know that Balerion was much bigger and if it came to a fight I can protect myself.
The closer they came towards me, the more Balerion growled. "lykirī Balerion."
Balerion lowered his boy enough so I could slide off. i stumbled and my cheeks heated up. It wasn't a graceful landing, but I deserve it. Something banged against my hip and when I looked down I saw a sword. A sword that was similar to the one Prince Daemon had. I was internally freaking out about everything, but I can't afford to show weakness. Especially to Daemon and Rhaenyra Targaryen.
my heart thudded as the two came up to me. I took two steps before pulling the sword from its sheath and drop to the ground on one knee. "Princess Rhaenyra, i came here with information that is important to you. Believe me when I say it's a matter of life or death."
"Who are you? You have the Targaryen eyes and are a dragon rider," Daemon sneered.
I was shocked by the eyes comment, but kept calm. I can't appear to be weak. "I do not think you will believe me my Prince. All I can say is that I am no danger to you. In fact i have information that will end this war."
Both of them seemed skeptical and it was Daemon who drew his sword. my breath caught in my throat, but i calmed once I heard Balerion growl. I saw the two step back as the dragon came closer. i got up from knees and shiny walked towards him. "lykirī, I am alright. There is no danger here."
Rhaneyra spoke up next and I knew she saw that they were at a disadvantage. Knew that I could kill them both right here with no problem. "Will you accompany us back to the castle? Don't worry no one will harm you especially with Balerion the reborn."
It was my turn to be suspicious and I eyed Daemon cautiously. I didn't put my sword away until he did. I calmed when he just smirked, amused at my actions. I saw that the Princess was pregnant and knew this was chance to see what year it was.
"Congratulations your grace. It looks like you're carrying a daughter," I said nonchalantly.
Seeing them pause and Rhaenyra putting a hand on her belly, I hurried to clarify. "I am what you call a dreamer. I fear that if I say more you won't believe me and I can't have that happen."
The Princess seemed to believe me and rested a hand on her belly. "We hope it's a girl. Our Visenya."
Oh dear Gods. It's the year that started it all. i kept silent on our way in and saw everyone looking at me with suspicion. I can't blame them really. I smiled when I saw the children and teenagers at the entrance. It's relieving to know that they're all alive. I could see how curious they were to know who I am, but followed their parents orders to leave the area. I silently agreed. The children didn't need to know what I was going to tell them.
The room they led me to had the famous map of Westeros. The one's the conquerors used. it was surreal to see and it made everything all the more real.
I sat on one of the sets provided and was demanded by Daemon to explain. he stood behind his wife and was holding her hand. I smiled at the scene. It seemed that they were truly in love.
"Rhaenyra, this will be difficult to hear, but i need you to keep calm. Everything I will say will be distressing, but you need to remain calm. If you're not calm you will lose your daughter," I stressed.
That seemed to alert them and both of their hands when to her belly. I can tell the Princess was afraid but was remaining calm. Good. "Your father has passed away. I'm not sure how long, it could have been a few days," I went to say more but saw the Princess was beginning to panic.
I quickly went to her side and grabbed her hand. "Follow my breaths Princess. In and out okay. Breath in,' I waited for her to do so and was glad when she did. 'And breath out. Do this a few more times."
It made me a little nervous the way Daemon was glaring at me. Like he was seconds away from cutting my head off. I tried to focus as much as I could to keep her calm."Don't worry. I have the knowledge to help. You will have your Visenya Princess. You just have to keep calm."
The princess nodded and continued the breathing exercises. "i fear I must apologize. I haven't even told you who I am. My name is Lyna. I am not..from here. Like at all. I believe I was sent by your Gods."
Daemon scoffed. "You expect us to believe the Gods sent you here?"
"All I know is I woke up and everything was different. My eyes are purple and I carry a sword. And I bonded with a dragon that's supposed to be dead! Do you really not believe the Gods sent me here to make sure what comes next doesn't come to pass?" I asked annoyed.
"Dreams didn't make us kings, dragons did," he stated.
"Do you believe that? It was because of a dream your ancestors came here. Because of the song of Ice and Fire that is passed from King to heir."
I knew right as I said it, it was the wrong move. Daemon's eyes had gone to his wife who was confused. it was obvious to me that the Princess thought her father had told him. "Think about what you're going to do next Prince Daemon. I see exactly what you want to do and you will regret it."
Daemon eyes were mad. His smile was cruel and it made the hair on the back of my neck stick up. "Will you stop me?"
I stood up, ignoring the fear I felt my hand go to my sword and I pointed it straight at him. "I am not scared of you Daemon. I am blessed by the Gods, for they gave me a sword that matches yours."
My shoulders dropped in relief when I saw he was amused. He could see my sword, but obviously thought I couldn't wield it. Which is true enough. "The Princess thought you knew. She doesn't deserve your ire. Especially while she is pr- with babe."
I settled down in my seat once more when I saw Daemon do the same. I let out a breath and closed my eyes. The migraine was still there and the pain was blinding. "They will crown your half brother and Rhaenys will be there. They had locked her away, but she had gotten free with her dragon. Her first mistake was not burning them. Instead she said it wasn't her war and turned away."
The Prince and Princess were both angry, but I could tell they were trying to keep it together. It seems Daemon now understood the importance of keeping his wife calm and was rubbing soothing circles on her belly. "Otto will come by soon, to tell you to kneel to him. Your mistake Rhaenyra was getting caught up in the moment. He had brought a page torn out of a book and you spared him because of it. You need to realize that showing mercy to Alicent will be your undoing."
I paused before I said the next. "Daemon, your undoing will be temptation. You must not fall for it or it will destroy you. Being faithful to Rhaenyra will bring you happiness, fail to do so, it will bring you death."
