Chapter 1
In the streets of Fuyuki City, a certain magus was walking away from the house left to him by his father figure, Kiritsugu Emiya. Shirou Emiya Aozaki could be overheard talking on the phone to a rather important person. "Yeah, I already completed those orders. Well, they were pretty simple mystic codes in the first place." He sighed into the phone, "I know, that's why I'm in back in Fuyuki. I'm headed to the Einzbern Castle to see Illya, she wanted me to see what she looked like with the new body you made her."
His face began to redden. "I don't know what your talking about, I'm sure her intentions are completely pure of heart." He then began to laugh. "Sure, that'll be the day." He then remembered something he had forgotten. "Oh, I forgot to tell you, check your motorcycle out later. I left you a present for mother's day." If anyone was watching, they would have seen a smile appear on Shirou's face.
"Don't be silly, of course I had to. Besides, I promised to make you an awesome mystic code, consider this to be a sneak peak. I think you'll be the first person to own a Harley that's also a mystic code. What do you mean what does it do? It's more fun to find out yourself isn't it? Ha, love you too mom." He said before hanging up the phone.
He was dressed in a red leather jacket with black designs on the sleeves. He wore a black button up shirt over a red t-shirt, with blue jeans and a pair of black boots. The orange sapphire gem on his necklace hummed, causing Shirou to quirk a brow. It was a gift he received from Luvia, after his old one broke. He managed to convince Rin to not destroy it, though that led to her giving him one of her gems to power a mystic code he made for himself.
He was a bit troubled, as the gem usually only hummed in response to the discharge of magical energy. He reached inside of his jacket and grabbed the carton of Dragon Smoke cigarettes he received from his mom. He took out one of the cigarettes and stuck it in his mouth. If it came down to it, he could use it to write runes, best to be prepared.
He looked around and tried to locate the source by smell, but it seemed to permeate the air. He had some mystic codes in his bag, but he'd rather not have to resort to wiping bystanders memories. He was still pretty bad at it. He closed his eyes and imagined a firework exploding, his circuits thrummed to life. He let out a sigh as he brought a hand up over his left eye.
He concentrated, sending magical energy to his right eye before opening it, revealing a glowing orange and red colored eye. He tried to analyze the area around him, searching every minute detail with his Mystic Eye of Precision and Analysis.
He then found what he was searching for. In front of him, his eye caught sight of a spatial distortion. He stopped supplying it with mana, causing his eye to return to its normal golden-brown color. He inspected the distortion, noting that he couldn't get any real information from his analysis. However, he felt a slight pull come from it. He reached into his pocket and took out his phone, quickly writing a text and sending it to Illya, before the pull quickly became stronger and sucked him in, dropping the phone to the ground in the process.
Shirou experienced a sense of weightlessness and vertigo, something that was par for the course when teleporting, as he learned from Caster a few years ago. After a few seconds, he felt gravity again, followed by him falling to the ground. He opened his eyes and popped his neck a few times. He sat up, where he saw a young girl with pink hair.
She appeared to be wearing some sort of school uniform with a black cloak of some kind. He didn't recognize the medallion on her neck, but noticed that she seemed rather shocked and upset. 'Must be a young mage performing a ritual of some kind. She must have messed up judging by her expression.' He thought to himself.
He then heard laughing, following by people talking in a different language. He looked around and saw a whole group of people, all dressed similarly to the girl, of course the boys had pants instead of skirts. The girl then looked directly at him, before speaking to him. It took him a moment, before he realized she was speaking something that was similar to french, but had a few other languages mixed in.
After she spoke for a few sentences, he decided to give it a try. "Where did you come from?" He thought she asked. He'd have to listen a bit more, but he thought he could understand enough. He heard someone giggling and looked toward the location, seeing a girl with red hair and dark skin. He had to admit she was good looking, but he had seen women with far greater beauty in his life.
"That's what I thought would happen, especially after boasting like you did. But, I never thought you'd summon up a peasant." She said to her. He saw the girl in front of him grow more irritated. From what the red head said, the girl in front of him must have performed a summoning spell of some kind. However, how did she summon him? He was still alive and summoning something like a servant took a large amount of mana.
The holy grail assisted in the summoning of a servant, so how did this girl manage to summon him? He wouldn't delude himself in thinking he was servant tier, but it should still take more than what the girl in front of him had. Then there was the fact they were speaking a weird language and referred to him as a peasant.
He looked around, noticing the different creatures each student had close by. He noticed some phantasmal species, but they were off. Their signatures were different and the smell of their magic was far different than what he thought they should be. Including the dragon. He tried to process the information quickly.
Time travel? The spatial distortion could have reacted with him and his crest, especially with him being an Aozaki, it was possible. However, he highly doubted it. His aunt didn't really time travel, it was more like she manipulated time. Plus, the language was wrong and he noticed the people holding wands and staffs, ordinary ones that weren't mystic codes, just conduits. Those weren't standard for mages in his world.
Different world? Most likely, though he couldn't understand how. Unless the summoning was that powerful, or had that much mystery. He supposed it didn't really matter, as his family was acquainted with the wizard marshall, so he could always be retrieved later. For now, he wouldn't panic and just roll with the punches. Besides, it seemed like this world was friendly to mages.
As he finished his thoughts, he heard the girl talk again. "Mr. Colbert, can I try that summoning spell again?"
"I'm afraid not, the summoning ritual is sacred and effects a mages entire life." Shirou raised an eyebrow at that statement. The balding man looked to be a teacher of some kind. He wielded some sort of staff and he smelled of flames and blood. It seemed he would have to be on guard. "Trying a second time would be a blasphemy against the ritual itself. That familiar will be bonded to you for life, and whether you like it or not, that boy is your familiar."
Shirou let out a small snort at that. He knew there was some magecraft that was heretical and frowned upon, but performing a ritual twice in a row and being considered blaspheming for it? He didn't get it. Did these people really consider magic to be that sacred? He didn't hear the girl stay anything, but she must have as the teacher replied to her. "There won't be any exceptions, if you don't finish the ritual I will be forced to summarily expel you from this institution."
'Seriously?' Shirou thought to himself. He then saw the girl make her way over towards him with a determined look on her face. He decided to stand up, surprising the girl. He dusted himself off before looking at the girl again. She almost reminded Shirou of Illya, though this girl was still taller than Illya's original body, though not by much.
"Be grateful, you'd usually never receive such a thing from a noble." She said to him. She motioned to him to kneel. He tilted his head, before sighing.
He kneeled down, figuring he might as well help the girl. Besides, if he wanted to break off whatever contract the girl would place him in, he could. He enjoyed helping people, so he could at least do this much. Plus, he was sure Aoko would tell him to have a blast while he was here. "What exactly am I getting the honor of receiving?" He asked, once again surprising her.
"So you can speak. No matter, I must complete the ritual. Just be quiet and let me finish." She said sternly. Shirou smirked a bit at her attitude. 'Seems I'll be the familiar of a rather forceful girl.' "My name is Louise Francoise Lu Blanc de La Valliere. Pentagon that governs the five powers, give this servant your blessing and make him my familiar spirit."
Shirou's eyes slightly widened at the word 'Servant', but ignored it. It was most likely just a coincidence anyway. She placed her hands on both sides of his face, before slowly leaning closer towards him. Shirou was a bit put off by that, but if it meant she could form the contract, then he would endure it. She then placed her lips on his, a small kiss, nothing really major.
At least, that's what Shirou thought, it was obvious by the red in the girl's face, that she must have thought a bit differently. He would have sighed, but decided against it. He could feel a connection to Louise now. "The contract has been formed, I shall assist in any way that I can master." He said to her. He would have used the lines his servant did, but he could tell the girl may have combusted if he did that.
Suddenly, he felt like his circuits were spinning on overdrive, heat coursed throughout his body. Even the Aozaki crest was included. Since his left arm was where the crest was located, he knew exactly what sensations were present on it, so when he felt the burning sensation head to his left hand, he couldn't help but look.
It was agonizing, but he wasn't a stranger to pain. However, the moment something began to show up on his hand, it increased tenfold. He almost wanted to tear off his arm, but remembered that his puppet replacement hand was on his right. After a few more moments, the pain receded. He was panting and felt hot, but managed to look at his hand, noticing something that looked like runes had appeared.
He felt some mana run through it, before it darkened. "Gundolf? What does that mean?" He muttered to himself as he stood up. He searched through his memories to equate what was on his hand to something, but nothing came to mind. He let out a sigh, he wished his mom was there, she'd probably know. He tensed when he noticed someone appear close by.
It was the teacher who smelled of flames and blood, Colbert, Shirou remembered. "It seems you succeeded in completing the contract, the bond has been made. Well done, Ms. Valliere. Well students, since everyone has successfully summoned their familiar, that will be the end for todays classes. Please, take the rest of the day to familiarize yourself with your familiars, that will be all." He said as he rushed off.
Shirou felt like Colbert was rushing to do something important. He only reacted like that after he looked at his runes. Maybe they meant something in this world, but he didn't know any effects he could produce with them in their current configuration. He let out a sigh, before noticing the students all walking off. He took note of a blue haired girl who seemed to look at him for a moment, before wandering off with her dragon.
He smiled, if that girl could bond with a dragon, even one without the mystery of his world's dragons, she must be pretty special. His master walked up to him and grabbed a hold of his hand. "Come on, we're going back to my room." She said to him, leading him away. His master did interest him, she was able to perform a summoning ritual that called him from another world.
If what he figured out from the context of the situation, as well as the summoned familiars, each familiar must correspond to their summoner. Much like a servant summoned without a catalyst. You would get one that was best suited to you, or so it was said. He had a catalyst when he summoned his servant, so he didn't know for sure about that. Did that mean him and Louise were suited to one another? If so, in what way?
Today wasn't Louise's day. She had hoped that her luck may turn around when she summoned her familiar, yet she ended up summoning a peasant. His clothes did seem a bit more well made than most peasants, but that didn't really matter. She supposed that she was lucky he was able to communicate with her. She wasn't sure if he would be able to at first, but after he spoke to her, she realized he seemed to have some understanding of what happened.
She led him to her room in the dorms, figuring she could speak to him and find out more about him. As they stepped into her room, her familiar looked around before nodding to himself. He walked over to the window and proceeded to open it a bit. She quirked her brow. It was weird behavior, but she figured she'd allow it for now.
She hated it, she really wanted a dragon, or maybe a gryphon, but she ended up with some common peasant. She let out a sigh, before noticing him take something out of his jacket. He reached into the small box and took out what looked to be a small cigar. She watched as he placed it into his mouth. He sat on the chair next to the window, placing the bag he had down next to him.
"Seriously? Familiar, what are you doing over there?" She asked, deciding not to be too forceful, as he did seem polite earlier. He looked at her with a raised brow, before taking something out of his pocket. He lifted it up and flicked the mechanism on it, causing a flame to spring up. It was actually a little amazing.
He lifted it up and lit the small cigar in his mouth. "Lighting my cigarette. Don't worry, these have runes on them to make sure they don't spread out unnecessarily." He let out a puff of smoke that went directly out of the window. "See? Apologies for doing this right away. I don't really smoke, but after that pain I felt earlier, I needed this. By the way, how old are you?" He asked her with a concerned expression.
She sent a small glare his way. She hoped he wasn't implying she looked like a little kid. It certainly felt that way. "I am seventeen, thank you very much." She answered with her arms crossed. She saw a look of relief flash across his face. He gave her a small smile that caught her off guard.
"Good, just wanted to make sure. Now, I suppose I should introduce myself. Wouldn't want you to keep calling me familiar all the time. My name is Shirou Aozaki, heir of the Aozaki family, and fifth generation magus. While I'm not a servant, I am proficient enough in swordsmanship and archery to be called a saber or archer." He explained in a cordial voice, though he was quickly interrupted.
"Stop right there, why are you talking as if you're a noble? Aren't you just a peasant?" She asked incredulously. Granted, him being skilled in swordsmanship and archery was a plus, but if he was a noble then she might be in serious trouble.
He looked at her with a raised brow. "I never said I was a noble. The Aozaki family isn't as old as some other mage families, so I wouldn't say we're nobles yet. However, I would like to think our family has enough prestige to be counted among them, I mean my aunt is the user of the fifth true magic." She had no idea what he was talking about, and he must have noticed that.
He let out a sigh. "You must not have picked up on the fact that I'm not from this world." Her eyes widened. Of course she didn't, because that was ludicrous. "I am from a country called Japan, on the planet Earth. I don't know where we are now, but I know it isn't my home. Whatever ritual you performed sucked me out of my world and into this one. I am inclined to believe that fate played a role in that, since things like this tend to have a reason behind them."
"You're actually being serious. I summoned some person from another world and made him my familiar." Louise had never felt like screaming and pulling her hair out as much as she did right now. "I messed up the summoning so bad that I reached into another world!" This time, she did let out a frustrated scream, though grabbed her pillow and muffled it beforehand.
Shirou extinguished his cigarette and walked over to her. She looked up at him and saw a small smile on his face. "It's fine master. If it wasn't, I wouldn't have accepted the contract to be your familiar. While I may not be your ideal familiar, I promise that I will carry out my duties to the best of my ability." His soft voice calmed her and caused her anger to slowly subside.
"By what you said, I'm guessing you know magic, so why would you continue to be my familiar if that's the case?" She asked quietly, though Shirou only laughed.
"Well, if you really want the truth master, it's because your familiar is the kind of person who immediately tries to help those in need, no matter what. As your familiar, its my duty to do just that. Simply put, I wanted to help you, Louise." Louise looked at him in the eyes, seeing that he was being completely serious. He would continue to subject himself to being a familiar, just to help her?
"You would help me? Just like that? Even though you don't even know me? What kind of familiar are you?" She said with a shaky voice. She wasn't used to be being treated like that, nor was she used to someone offering their aid so freely. She watched as he reached into his pocket and took out some glasses. He put them on and his smile changed into a more relaxed one.
"The kind that you need." He then reached out his hand and patted the top of her head. "My sword is yours to command, Master." Louise felt like she was dreaming for a moment. She had been called the Zero for so long, not having anyone believe in her, and had been feeling rather depressed lately that she couldn't believe what was happening.
No one believed in her or wanted to help her become a great mage like she always wanted, but yet, a total stranger, who was summoned as her familiar, managed to lift her spirits a little bit. If what she picked up was right, he was a mage himself, yet he was so willing to be her familiar and offer his services to her. If he was willing to continue being her familiar, then she would make sure to be the greatest master and mage she could be.
She would show everyone what the daughter of Karin the Heavy Wind was made of. She steeled herself and looked at Shirou with a determined look on her face. "Very well, then I hope your ready to work hard, because I plan on being one of the greatest mages who ever lived. I won't allow my familiar to fall behind." She said resolutely.
He had a surprised look on his face, before he gave her smile and kneeled down, surprising her. "Of course master, as your familiar, I will help you reach that goal. Louise Valliere, I swear on my honor and my family name, that I will stand by your side and to be there whenever you need me."
And so, the fledgling bond was made strong. A man named Shirou Emiya Aozaki became the familiar of Louise Valliere, 'The Zero'. It wouldn't be until that night, when Louise dreamed, that she would truly start to begin to know Shirou. Likewise, Shirou's carefree nature, learned from his aunt, had fooled him into believing this world would be a breath of fresh air from his old world.
Unknown to both, the two would be in for an adventure that would cement the two in the history books. Both worlds would recognize the pair as master and servant, or as they would later be called, The Void and her Forge.
Louise slept peacefully that night, but yet, for some reason, her dreams were occupied by her familiar. Only a few glimpses every now and then, but when her slumber deepened, she found herself looking out into a world of steel. A world of unlimited blades.
Done, second story out and finished. This Shirou is another Aozaki, but he'll be a bit different with a few different abilities that he prefers over his counterpart. I can't wait to flesh out these characters a bit more, especially when I get to my Shield Hero crossover. I wanted to get these out so whenever I feel like I hit a wall, I can update these other stories. Plus, they were on my mind and bugging me ever since vacation. Also, I have been toying around with a "Gate." crossover that would take the place of one of my original ideas. Female Shirou stories will be coming too, so if you like female leads, be excited for those. It won't be male shirou in girls body, it will be a female shirou who crosses over. Now, that's all. I hope you enjoyed it, until next time.
