AN! I have no idea why this chapter in particular keeps being posted scrambled, this is my fourth attempt, so I hope this works! I'm so sorry for the previous ones!
"Well dear we have to leave now, a lot needs to be taken care of now that so much has been revealed, and also with the whole wizarding world celebrating the fall of Voldemort" Dumbledore said as him and McGonagle got ready to leave out the door when Rose, Lana and Harry came down the stairs to get some food.
"Are you going to be okay here by yourself?" McGonagle asked wanting to be sure Lana felt okay with this.
"Yes I have Rose and the rest of them, I have all the help I need, I'll be alright" Lana said and smiled reassuringly at them. Harry waved at them from her hip and giving a toothy grin, McGonagle smiled at the sight and Dumbledore gave a little chuckle before they walked out.
It was now early morning, Lana had been up all night and Harry was in need of a nap as well, so after having eaten, Lana took Harry upstairs, changed his clothes and diaper, that was in desperate need of changing, she was feeling bad about not having done it before, but Harry didn't seem to care, so she let herself of this one time, it had been a trying night after all. Lana put Harry in a crib that had been placed in Lana's room at her request wanting to be close to Harry in case he needed something. Harry had fussed a little even if he was very tired. He called out for "mama" and "dada" clearly being used to be put to bed by either of them. After a little while of shushing and singing Harry fell asleep. To Lana's surprise she fell asleep the second her head hit the pillow. She has imagined she would lay awake thinking about what had happened, but apparently her body was so exhausted she didn't even have time to fom a thought.
Lana woke up to a child crying, knowing it must be Harry she quickly got up and got him. They had been asleep for three hours only, but Harry only being one year old didn't really care about that. It was now 10 am and Harry wanted breakfast.
As soon as they exited the room Rose was there to great them.
"I can take Harry if you want to have a few more hours of sleep, we'll cook up a nice little breakfast." Rose offered.
"That is very kind of you, I don't think I'll go back to sleep, otherwise I'll never be able to sleep tonight, but I would like to take a long shower though, that would be nice" Lana said as she rubbed the sleep out of her eyes after having handed Harry over to Rose. Harry started playing with Rose's ears, Rose didn't seem to mind.
"I'll get Minnie to come help you find everything you need and bring you a change of clothes, you need it" Rose replied and wrinkled her nose a little. Lana chuckled at Rose's reply.
"Yes I do believe I need that"
Rose left with a smiling Harry, she didn't know if Harry, being blissfully unaware of his situation, was better for him or worse in the long run.
"It is very nice to meet you Miss Erikson, I have heard such good things about you" what Lana guessed was Minnie, said as Lana entered the bathroom.
"It is very nice to meet you too Minnie, but please call me Lana, we are not as formal where I come from" Lana explained and Minnie gave a nod as reply before snapping her fingers and a few towels and some clothes appeared on the bathroom counter.
"That is so cool" Lana blurted out, Minnie blushed a little but didn't reply.
"I'll be down when I'm done, I might be a while though, but please come and get me if there is anything you need me for, I'm sure you guys are more capable than me, but never the less, don't hesitate to ask if you need anything" Lana said to Minnie who nodded enthusiastically.
"Take all the time you need miss Lana, you deserve it" Minnie said and disappeared with a pop.
Lana stood in the shower for what felt like forever, kept waiting for it to run out of hot water, but then realized she was in a magical house, they probably didn't run out of hot water.
Lana stood there under the running water and wondered how the hell she had ended up in such a situation, what are the odds, they are zero that's what they are, they are below zero, this kind of shit just doesn't happen. Lana contemplated what Dumbledore could possibly do for her as both he and McGonagle had looked as surprised as her about what had happened and how that was possible. If there was anything to be done about her situation she had a feeling it'll be a long while until she got any answers.
"Miss Lana did you have a nice shower" Rose asked as Lana got downstairs. They had relocated to the living room, a play area had been set up for Harry, which he was fully engrossed it, only looked up long enough to registered who had entered before he went back to exploring a chew toy with his teeth.
"Yes it was lovely, I could get used to a shower that doesn't run out of hot water" Lana happily replied. Rose looked confused.
"In the muggle world you run out of hot water when you've showered for a while, it all depends on how big of a water heater one has, the bigger it is the longer it takes before the hot water runs out" Lana explained, Rose seemed fascinated.
"you are welcome to use the shower her for as long as you want, we won't ever run out of hot water" Rose reassured.
"How is Harry? Did he eat enough?" Lana asked and smiled down at Harry who had decided to crawl over to say hi.
"Yes he ate like a champion, some blueberries, a yoghurt and a slice of bread with jam on it" rose smiled proudly at Harry.
"he did call out for mom and dad a couple of times though, I think he is really starting to notice that they have been gone a while, I know kids don't have the same concept of time, but I'm sure he notices that something is wrong" Rose said, her expression went to one of sadness.
"I agree Rose, he probably notices by now that something isn't quite right. I only hope that once Sirius arrives he'll feel like something is back to normal at least, and Sirius will just have to put aside his own grief when Harry is around. Yes Harry should be able to see that people are grieving, but I believe we shouldn't put too much onto him, he has after all been through a trauma himself even if he doesn't full remember it" Lana said and Rose nodded in agreement.
Lana let out a sneeze and Harry had a laughing fit. Watching Harry laugh was therapeutic for both Lana and Rose who laughed along. Harry held up his arms wanting Lana to pick him up, once she had he leaned his head so they were forehead to forehead, he looked into her eyes for a few seconds before breaking out into a fit of giggles.
"so you're a weird one then" Lana said, both her and Rose were laughing at Harry's antics.
A small pop sounded in the middle of the living room and they all turned to the new house elf. It was a male, he reminded Lana a little of Dobby with his kind eyes, but he had on a fancy shirt with the Potter family crest sown onto its breast pocket. Harry squealed and squirmed to get down. Lana sat him onto the floor and Harry crawled over to the new house elf and motioned for him to pick him up. The new elf smiled at Harry and picked him up, once again Harry started playing with the elf ears, Rose snickered a little.
"I've come to inform miss Erikson that lunch is served" the elf said happily while letting Harry play with his ears.
"thank you, but please call me Lana, and if you could inform the others as well I would appreciate it" Lana smiled.
«of course miss Lana» he said, Lana chose to let the 'miss' part go for now.
AN! Sirius will be in the next chapter, I promise!
