excuse you I will never be too old to go trick-or-treating and I hear the house down the street gives out full sized candy bars
Sirius was feeling excited. No matter what Regulus or James had said, he was going to go trick or treating to his heart's content.
"Besides, who says that you have to stop when you become an adult, am I right?" Sirius asked the seven-year-old next to him.
"I don't know how to respond, but I liked your costume," the boy replied and Sirius beamed at him.
"Thanks, kid! My friends and I always loved Power Rangers, and I thought 'why not?' and found this really cool costume at one of the stores near my house," Sirius babbled about the Red Ranger costume he was wearing.
Sirius didn't mind he was a twenty-one-year-old, wearing a Power Rangers costume and still going trick or treating. It was tradition and he knew all of the houses in his neighbourhood and Miss McGonagall is known for giving full sized candy bars.
Life as a college student was hard and he was going to get all the candy he could possibly get in one night.
"I think you're a very cool adult," Jack, his neighbour replied, and Sirius beamed at him.
"Thanks, Jack, I think you're very cool too," Sirius said, messing his hair and almost dropping his cowboy hat. "Let's go get some candy."
Sirius was walking around the neighbourhood with Jack, since his parents had to work and Sirius was already going trick or treating. It was a good excuse to have Jack with him, but he knew he was going to do it anyway.
"Okay, Jack, are you ready?" Sirius asked, coming near the door and ringing the bell. "Prepare yourself."
It didn't take long for someone to open the door, and Sirius and Jack to say the customary 'trick or treat?'. What surprised Sirius was to see the pretty redhead from his design class.
"Hey, Lily, right?" Sirius asked, smiling and passing a hand through his hair. "Fancy seeing you here."
"Why wouldn't I be here? This is my house," Lily deadpanned, with a bowl of candies in her hand. "Aren't you a little old to go trick or treating?"
"Excuse you, I will never be too old to go trick-or-treating," Sirius said with a mocked tone. "Besides, Miss McGonagall down the street gives full size candy bars and I'm not passing that."
"And Sirius is the coolest adult to go trick-or-treating with," Jack pipped from his side, "can I have some candy now, please?"
Lily smiled at him and Sirius thought she looked gorgeous at that moment. Putting some candy in Jack's pumpkin bucket, she turned to him with a raised eyebrow.
"I suppose you want some candy too?" Lily asked with a little smile on the corner of her mouth.
"Of course I want!" Sirius was smiling wider, and after she gave him some candy, he stepped closer to her. "You know…I can come back later and we can swap some candy."
"Is this what people are calling these days?" Lily asked, before blushing. "I mean…sure, come back later and we can talk."
Smiling, Sirius kissed her warm cheeks before turning and leading Jack to the next house.
"See you later, Lily!" Sirius yelled from the entryway, before starting walking and whistling. "This was a good house."
"Better than Miss McGonagall, who has full size candy bars?" Jack asked before scoffing. "Yeah, sure."
Chuckling, Sirius didn't say anything else, just kept walking. He had a date and some candy bars to go to.
