"And there!" The brown-haired girl set one last box beside the kotatsu, letting out an accomplished smile. "That should be the last of it."

The figure across from her stood sheepishly. "You really didn't have to do this much. I could've handled it on my own…"

"You wouldn't have made it far with that minifridge without me, but whatever you say… Heh… Julianne ."

"Lenore!" That really caught her off guard. "What have I said about using my full name?"

"Sorry sorry but, hah, you're just way too cute when you get upset over something that silly."

She could only purse her lips and eye roll in response, knowing how much her girlfriend liked provoking her with her teasing. Lenore always knew not to go too far though, skipping over to give her lover a quick kiss on the lips.

"You're a lot sometimes. You know that?"

"I love you too Jill."

There really was no winning with Lenore.

Still proud of being a help to her girlfriend moving into her new home, the brown-haired girl glanced around the interior of the apartment before the city skyline outside caught her attention.

"Woah! You never told me about this balcony view!"

"Really? Huh… Well, it's one of the main reasons I got this unit in the first place. That and it's in one of the safer parts of Glitch City."

"Oh my gosh I wanna get a better look!" Lenore took a half step before looking back, tugging her deadpan girlfriend's arm as she slided the glass door open.

"Wha-"

"You're coming too, silly!"

The couple stepped out of the apartment and onto the balcony, the ambience and sights of the city spanning every direction.

Distant sirens in the night, neon posters along the building across, and the corporate skyscrapers of Glitch City that developed its iconic skyline.

Jill pulled out a can of her favorite beer from her red coat's pocket, cracking it open before taking a decent sip.

"Can't believe this is what $10,000 a month in rent gets me..."

"That little? In this economy? No way."

"Like I said, I can't believe it either."

Lenore let out a silly pout as she put an arm around her girlfriend's neck. "Not me getting envious of you and your lucky balcony view."

Jill glanced nonchalantly at her partner before returning her gaze towards the buildings beyond, taking another sip. "You're welcome to move in if you want."

"Haha, you know I can't do that. Not when I still have Gaby to take care of after all."

"Mmm, that's fine. I'll still be here by the time she's old enough to be on her own."

"My, that's the most confident thing you've said to me about anything regarding the future lately."

"I just…" Jill looked at Lenore pensively. "I question whether I'm making the right choice in life with my major. What if it's a mistake? What if I don't end up liking it as much as I thought?"

"Well, we've still got time before things fall into place for us. And hey," she patted her girlfriend's back reassuringly."We got each other, so I'm sure everything will turn out alright."

"Yeah… You're right."

"Plus, this apartment with a view I'm so not jealous of fell into place for you, so I'm sure your post-college life will develop just fine."

Jill only hummed in agreement this time, taking another sip while her girlfriend shivered from a sudden gust of wind.

"Okay, that's enough balcony time for me haha. I'm heading back in. You coming?"

"I'll head back in after I finish this."

Lenore watched as her girlfriend took another sip of her beer, a smile escaping her mouth at how cute she looked.

"Y'know, with your cool looks and down-to-earth persona, you'd probably make a good bartender, Jill."

She looked back, a skeptical look on her face. "Me? A bartender?"

"Just some food for thought!" The brown-haired girl said encouragingly before stepping back inside, leaving the purple-haired girl alone with her thoughts.

"A bartender…" Jill finished the last of her beer before looking out towards the Glitch City skyline in the distance, chucking the aluminum can as far as she could off her balcony before it was lost forever in the streets below.

"Heh, as if."
