"Yo, Gojo-kun!" The blonde otaku threw up a peace sign as the doll maker met her halfway on the bridge that overlooked the road below. "You came after all."
"Sorry I took a while. I went ahead and got you this since I know you like them."
"Omigosh, a bacon wrapped rice ball?! Bro, you shouldn't have!"
Marin took the bag from Gojo's hand, a bit hungrier than she wanted to admit to him as she pulled the rice ball out.
"Looks as good as the first time! Itadakimasu!"
The gyaru began devouring the snack while Gojo looked on, still bewildered at how strong her appetite was.
After she got a few good bites in, the dressmaker tried sparking conversation again. "So, Kitagawa-san?"
"Mhm?" The girl looked up curiously at the taller boy as she gobbled up the snack.
"Why did you want to meet with me this late? You told me it was important in your text too."
"Mm!" The gyaru took a final bite of the rice ball before rewrapping it in its paper protection and properly facing the dressmaker.
"Right… I should apologize, Gojo-kun, dragging you out here this late at night. Wouldn't put it past ya if you got worried with how dramatic I came off in those messages. I'm totally fine though!"
"Tha-"
"Well…" Marin accidentally interrupted Gojo before he could get a word in. "that last part was kinda a lie..."
"Huh?" A look of worry crossed Gojo's face. "What do you mean by that?"
"I uh…" The gyaru couldn't maintain eye contact with the boy's handsome face anymore, looking down at his shoes before squatting down. "God, this is so much harder than I imagined…"
"Kitagawa-san!" Gojo immediately knelt down to her friend's level. "Are you alright?"
There you go again… Marin thought to herself as her face continued flushing red, hiding her face from Gojo's. Always worrying and looking out for me…
The blonde otaku jumped back to her feet, face still blushing red before pointing a finger down at him.
"Please turn around right now!"
"E-eh? Why!?" Gojo stood back up as Marin shifted the taller boy's body 180 degrees, away from facing her.
"Because that's the only way I'll be able to say this!"
"To say what!?"
"That I love you so much, my dude!"
Both of their eyes immediately went wide at Marin's unintentional declaration. She wouldn't let him see her face though. Wrapping her arms around his body, she was hellbent on keeping him in place.
This only went on for about a minute though, her arms slowly undoing themselves around the boy she loved as she took a few steps back. What she wanted to say was out now, and there was no point in fighting it.
Gojo finally turned around, looking at the blonde otaku with an odd expression. "You… love…?"
"I've…." Marin tried her best to compose herself, thinking back at the words of advice her visual novels gave her. "I've felt that way about you forever to be honest. Ever since we met, I haven't had more fun in my entire life… Shopping with the boy I wuv, watching movies at home with the boy I wuv, cosplaying with the boy I wuv..."
Marin stepped close to Gojo again, only inches away from his face with a new confident look. "Nobody makes me feel as accepted and cared about as you, Gojo-kun. So please, believe me when I say I love y-"
How… expected of her to let out a burp at what was a life altering moment.
"Oh shit, I am so sorry for-
"I love you too." Gojo looked the gyaru in the eyes as she softly took a hold of her shoulders, a shy smile on his face.
"I love you too, Kitagawa-san." The dressmaker repeated, hugging her this time, relieved the feelings he held up within him were just as mutual. "I… couldn't ask for anything more."
Marin slowly returned the hug, finding it warmer than her previous embraces with the taller boy. The execution could've been better, especially that burp, but at least the message got across. The stupid things love makes you say and do, sometimes it just pays off.
"Neither can I..."
