Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu
Veteran combatant and guardian Master Wu recruits four elementally gifted warriors to become ninja, and stand up to the malicious Samukai and Lord Garmadon.
Roughly four thousand years prior to the modern day, a god like entity known as the First Spinjitzu Master uses the power of the four Golden Weapons of Spinjitzu to help him create the realm of Ninjago in order to balance the forces of good and evil. Thirty five years before the modern day, after the Spinjitzu Master's passing, his two sons Garmadon and Wu have been tasked with being Ninjago's guardians. Garmadon however became corrupted and sought to steal the Golden Weapons in order to rule Ninjago, and he fights Wu who tries to stop him. Wu wins the fight using his father's enchanted gi, which banishes Garmadon to the Underworld via a portal in the ground. The portal magically ages both brothers into an elderly stage. Garmadon's body is magically transformed by the spell, causing fried blackened skin, glowing red eyes, exposed ribs, and a drastic increase in superhuman abilities. Garmadon curses Wu that he'll come back for revenge and manages to overthrow their foe, the Underworld king Samukai, who leads the living skeleton warriors known as Skulkin. Garmadon becomes king and declares the Skulkin will help him get back to Ninjago.
In the present, Wu meets with siblings Kai and Nya who work as blacksmiths like their long lost parents Ray and Maya. The Skulkin, led by Samukai who is now merely the general, attack the shop to find the map that Wu gave to Ray, showing the locations of the Golden Weapons. Wu helps the siblings fight the Skulkin but Samukai succeeds in kidnapping Nya and flees. Kai attempts to find Samukai alone but Wu insists that he train with him first. He also explains his relationship with Garmadon as his name was mentioned by Samukai. They go to Spinjago Monastery, Wu's childhood home where Kai completes an obstacle course and eventually meet Wu's other recruits, the socially awkward Zane, arrogant Cole, and talkative Jay. The four students are all genetically elemental warriors, a subclass of superhumans who's powers came from the First Spinjitzu Master. Kai, Zane, Cole, and Jay respectively were selected to wield and master the elements of fire, ice, Earth, and lightning. The next day, they arrive at the Caves of Despair where Samukai is looking for the Scythe. They find the Scythe first and manage to fend off the Skulkin using spinjitzu, as well as evading the Earth dragon guardian Rocky whom Wu appointed to protect the Scythe. Later, Samukai meets with Garmadon in the Underworld and informs him of the interference, and Garmadon instructs him to allow the ninja to collect the weapons for him.
On their way to find the Shurikens, Wu explains that the ninja's elements can make a Tornado of Creation, in which a spinjitzu tornado can harness the power of matter manipulation if they combine all four of theirs', but warns that it is dangerous. The ninja manage to find the Shurikens in an ice fortress and Nunchucks atop a tower, also evading the dragons guarding them. A few nights later the ninja make camp and intend to go to the Fire Temple where the Sword is kept. Kai is woken up suddenly by Nya, who leads him to the inside of the temple. Kai finds out that Nya was an illusion cast by Garmadon using the spirit like shadows who live in the temple. Garmadon reveals that Nya is chained above the lava river in the temple, and that he must pull the Sword to cut her free and save her. Kai quickly does so and tries to escape but the Shadows hold him back. Wu arrives and fends of the Shadows, but Garmadon has them surrounded and awaits Samukai to get to the temple. Wu takes the sword and manages to go through the lava fall portal to the Underworld in order to evade Garmadon. Outside, the other three ninja are tied up by Samukai and he steals the weapons, heading back to the Underworld as Garmadon's Shadow form instructs. The ninja cut themselves loose and try to stop Samukai but they fail. They give up with nowhere to go but Kai and Nya suddenly arrive mounted on Flame, the fire dragon who guarded the Sword. Kai and Nya managed to calm Flame down and he realized that they were trying to protect the sword and became docile. They gather the other guardian dragons, Rocky, Shard, and Wisp and they all take flight. Nya tells the others that according to legend, dragons are capable of crossing between dimensions and as such can travel to other realms. The dragons dive at high speed and produce their own portal, transporting them to the Underworld.
The ninja arrive in the Underworld and find the interior to consist of several cave systems. They fail in trying to sneak into the caves and get caught by Skulkin, but they successfully use the Tornado of Creation by doing spinjitzu and it defeats the Skulkin. Elsewhere, Master Wu who survived the fall through the Fire Temple portal, and he makes his way through the caverns while avoiding the soldiers. He finds his way to an arena, a large rock platform situated over lava. Garmadon appears from out of the shadows and orders Samukai, who's armed with the other weapons to attack Wu. He watches the fight and the ninja eventually catch up. They watch Wu fight Samukai but he loses, and Samukai takes the Sword. Samukai tries to use the weapons to kill Garmadon, but they suddenly attach to his hands and start slowly killing him. Since the weapons are too powerful for a single entity to possess at once, Samukai disintegrates into ash. Suddenly a dimensional portal created by the opens to the Dark Realm, and Garmadon declares he'll come back to conquer Ninjago. Wu and the ninja take the golden weapons and return to Ninjago, meeting back with Nya. The ninja agree to work together more cooperatively and Kai declares that they'll be read for Garmadon when he shows up.

Wu scolds them saying that they have so much more potential and that they'll never become their best selves or protect Ninjago. The ninja don't take him seriously until Nya bursts in and states that Garmadon was spotted in Jamanikai village. The ninja panic initially but race to confront him. However they find upon arrival they find that it's actually Garmadon's young son Lloyd causing panic. Lloyd is shunned by the villagers and the ninja hang him by the shirt on part of a building roof for laughs. Lloyd takes this personally and vows revenge, and the villagers throw him out causing him to flee. The ninja also discover the green ninja prophecy in Master Wu's bag, detailing a chosen warrior meant to protect Ninjago from evil. The ninja compete amongst each other through a series of duels to decide the chosen one, but Master Wu interrupts them after Kai accidentally starts a fire with the Sword, telling them that they're not nearly at the level of what it takes to be the green ninja.
A few days later Lloyd is seen stumbling upon a mountain peak close to Jamanikai and winds up finding the Hypnobrai tomb. He is confronted by their king Slithaara who tries to mind control him, but it backfires and he places hypnosis on himself looking at his reflection. Lloyd is delighted that the Hypnobrai king is now under his control and as per Serpentine tradition the rest of the Hypnobrai males, which would be soldiers follow him while the females and children stay behind. In the meantime, Zane manages to see an unusual falcon and takes an interest in it as the other ninja briefly made fun of him for being so different from them. A few more days later the Hypnobrai attack Jamanikai village causing the ninja to intervene, and they're led by the Falcon Zane saw. Slithaara hypnotizes the villagers but Cole manages to seize Slithaara's enchanted staff to cure them, but not before Slithaara's right hand Skales hypnotizes him. Zane leaves seemingly of sadness but it turns out that he found an abandoned old ship, the Destiny's Bounty to serve as their new home. Back at the Hypnobrai tomb, the snakes bring the stolen food and supplies with them and Skales declares that they have everything they need to start rebellion against the humans. Slithaara stubbornly stays under Lloyd's control so Skales defeats him in a duel and gains leadership of the tribe, then kicking out Lloyd but not before he finds a map showing the locations of the other tombs.
It's shown that a week later the ninja have worked hard to renovate and convert the Bounty into a headquarters, and that Wu is helping them using government funds he gained throughout his services. They briefly also meet Jay's parents Ed and Edna, who have shown to embarrass and overly protect him. In the meantime, Lloyd opens the Fangpyre tomb and convinces them to help him. Their king Fangtom orders an attack on the junkyard, but Ed sends a distress to Jay before he's captured. The next day, the ninja head to the junkyard and briefly confront the Fangpyre, and steal their staff to cure Ed and Edna, but the Fangpyre successfully convert the couple's vehicles into their own minions. The Fangpyre however betray Lloyd revealing they only used him to find other Serpentine allies. Lloyd manages to flee once more, and stubbornly refuses to learn from his mistakes as he travels to the Anacondrai tomb and finds their last surviving member Pythor. Pythor promises him revenge, but he too betrays Lloyd and manages to meet up with Fangtom and Skales, who discuss with him that they need Pythor's leadership to declare war against the humans. Pythor accepts eagerly and tells Lloyd briefly about how the Serpentine were persecuted by humans in the past and leading them to war and eventual imprisonment. The Serpentine were forced to savagely cannibalize themselves, and Pythor becomes the last of his species. He leads the Hypnobrai and Fangpyre troops to the rural areas of Ninjago where they use their vehicles to attack and subjugate them. Pythor brutally slaughters many human villagers but the ninja, using their Golden Weapons, and Wu's sacred flute manage to put up a fight. Wu also rescues Lloyd when Pythor takes him hostage, causing him to see his wrongs upon seeing the destruction Pythor had caused. The Ninjago City police force and military officers are summoned to the village the characters are fighting at, allowing the humans to outnumber the Serpentine. However a handful of them escape while the rest are swiftly arrested and taken to Kryptarium Prison. Lloyd, feeling remorse for releasing the Serpentine is adopted by Wu, who tells the ninja they'll have to show Lloyd the kindness that his father neglected and that he has better potential being one of them. Pythor and the rest of the escaped Serpentine hide out in a sewer system. Pythor declares that he'll do whatever it takes to organize a resistance and that he has big plans for Ninjago.

However they find that Nya has spotted Pythor with help from law enforcement and that he has managed to track and open the two other major Serpentine prison tombs, the Venomari and Constrictai. Kai manages to see Samurai X crash land in the middle of the desert. He meets with the Samurai who tries to escape, and Kai asks if he's okay. He sees the helmet and mask are damaged, and the Samurai takes it off, revealing her to be Nya. Nya states that she was left out due to being a girl and that she couldn't enjoy the action of the ninja. During the government's orders for the ninja to accompany the military and police to stop Serpentine rebellions, Nya requests funding and sanctions from the city mayor to allow her to have a headquarters and mech built to more efficiently contain Serpentine. Lloyd however manages to convince the other students to reveal their softer sides and that they're all secretly good, namely how his close friend Brad loves sewing. The Bizarro Ninja in the meantime head to their new apartment but Wu misleads them and finds out they're not the real Ninja. He tries to attack them but the Bizzaros beat him in combat and knock him out. Bizzaro Jay also seduces Nya and takes the keys for the new Ultra Sonic Raider to drive to Darkleys. The Bizzaro Ninja break into the school and attack the students, but the Ninja break out and fight their doubles. The students find that Brad has made Ninja costumes over the years and the students wear it to momentarily confuse the Bizzaro Ninja long enough for the Ninja to kill them. The Ninja return home congratulating Lloyd
Episode 4- Ninjaball Run: Dareth fails to pay his mortgage causing construction workers to start tearing down his dojo, but they leave upon seeing it's the wrong day. Zane finds that the Dojo land was repossessed by Darnagom (which is Garmadon under a false name). Nya finds a lucky break however as Ninjago City is holding a new racing competition called Ninjaball Run, which welcomes any willing competitive racer and will gift a cash prize. The Ninja decide to enter the Ultra Sonic Raider and Lloyd enters with the Ultra Dragon. The other contestants include the Mailman who's cycle has a rocket engine Jay installed, Kruncha and Knuckle on the monster truck, Ed and Edna on their modified car, and Loue and his troupe on their own car. The contestants race through the city and eventually through the tundra and desert, where the Skulkin truck crashes and gets disqualified, but not before knocking the Ultra Dragon. In the middle of the race, the Serpentine Kings break Skales out of jail and Garmadon sees the race on the news He enters the race late and flies the Bounty and attempts to attack the Ninja with the Serpentine. Ed and Edna's car is crashed by the Serpentine as they help the Ninja refuel the Raider. The Ninja eventually race Garmadon, and the latter uses the mega weapon to create a crevice in the land, but the Ninja get past it using a built in flying vehicle Nya installed to race Garmadon to the finish and win. They win the cash prize and the Ultra Dragon manages to seize the ship, and Garmadon is nearly arrested but saved by Skales.
Episode 5- Child's Play: The Ninja attack Garmadon when he breaks into a museum and nearly succeeds in ressurecting a dinosaur specimen called Grundalycus by animating the fossil. The Ninja stop Garmadon but fail to catch the Serpentine kings from stealing a sarcophagus. The Ninja realize that they have been proportionally de-aged into kids and that Zane is unaffected due to his robotic nature. He helps the other Ninja escape from police and they regroup at the Bounty, seeking a reversal. Wu says that he can ask Mystake for Tomorrow's Tea which can proportionally age targets. He buys the tea while the Ninja learn more about the Grundle, and realize that Garmadon had succeeded and that there was a sighting. They enter Lloyd in a comic trivia competition in an attempt to win light sword replicas, as the Grundle is vulnerable to light. The Grundle strikes that night and the Ninja hold him off, and Wu arrives with the tea. Lloyd throws the tea and is ages everyone, turning the Grundle into bones again but also aging the Ninja including Lloyd, who is now an older teenager.
Episode 6- Wrong Place Wrong Time: The Ninja attack Ouroburos when they realize Garmadon is using the Serpentine to build an army. Garmadon takes shelter and wishes the Ninja never existed. He gets an idea and opens a portal into the past before the Ninja's attack and attempts to kill them with many strategies, however the Ninja think around it despite nearly getting killed and Lloyd confronts his father. He fights him and Garmadon holds back, realizing the endeavor is pointless he portals back to the future and closes it, only to find the Ninja have not succeeded as far. Due to Garmadon's interference in time earlier the Serpentine are prepared well and attack the Ninja head on and they barely escape. The Ninja however with all their might, wishing to stop Garmadon attack him and Lloyd uses his energy powers to subdue him. The Ninja make a run for it with the Mega Weapon. That night they drop it into Torchfire Mountain, however the gold element reacts unexpectedly and shoots into the sky. It causes an explosion and the Ninja manage to escape, but unknown to them the Mega Weapon shards get caught in the gravity of a comet.
Ninjago 6: Legacy of the Golden Ninja
Synopsis: Lloyd's burden of fulfilling his destiny is accelerated when Garmadon locates the fabled Dark Island and meets an entity bent on on corrupting Ninjago.
Weeks following the destruction of the Megaweapon, Garmadon convinces the Serpentine to help him on a mission to find the Dark Island, a mystical land mass separated from Ninjago to harbor the forces of evil and preserve the balance. Garmadon believes his conquest of Ninjago will be greatly aided by finding it, but the Serpentine go against the thought of a human overruling them any longer. Garmadon orders the Fangpyre helicopter to pilot him, but over the Endless Sea, Skales throws him off the helicopter and Garmadon is left stranded in the middle of the ocean. Skales is declared king of all the Serpentine and he states that they'll do what should have been done long ago, and now that Garmadon can't threaten them they'll focus on destroying the human civilization. As there's still anti-Serpentine sentiment Skales orders for the Constrictai to aid in burrowing under Ninjago City at all weak structural points to help it collapse.
In the meantime, the Devourer's enchanted venom still pollutes different city buildings. The Ninja are summoned to the Museum of Natural History, where it's shown that the venom had animated the gift shop toys with dark magic. The Ninja destroy the toys and Wu reunites with Misako, a museum employee. Wu tells Lloyd that Misako is Lloyd's mother. Lloyd is initially angered with her abandonment but she explains that she forsaw the Green Ninja prophecy and wished to use her archeological knowledge to best protect him. Misako explains that there's a hidden side to Ninjago's origin, that after the First Spinjitzu Master created the realm the consequence of using his Golden element was the birth of the Overlord, a dark spirit symbolizing evil. The Overlord took on a ghostly form and tried to use his darkness element to fight the FSM, but was defeated time and again until the Overlord used his powers to build an army of Stone Samurai. The army overran Ninjago, so the FSM split the continent in half, with one being the Dark Island. Misako is keen on making sure the island is never found, especially by Garmadon. They are all momentarily attacked by an animated giant Samurai but trap him in an excavation tunnel. In the meantime, Garmadon finds himself stranded on the Dark Island, but is guided by the spirit of the Overlord to a lever system that pushes the sunken island to the surface. The Serpentine burrowing causes many miniature quakes around the city, and Misako fears the prophecy coming true as the quakes are mentioned. The Serpentine accidentally access a Stone Samurai tomb and the Devourer venom animates them, causing them to fight and trap the Serpentine. They close the tomb doors, leaving all of the Serpentine soldiers trapped.
On the island, Garmadon is shown to the Celestial Clock by the Overlord, a giant mechanical clock that counts down the prophecy of shifting the balance to evil. Garmadon sees a helmet attached to the clock and picks it up, starting it. The Helmet of Shadows as it's called will give him command of the Stone Army present on the island. Back in Ninjago the Samurai from the tomb attack the city, and the ninja evacuate many civilians and flee. Afterward the military and police try to fight the Stone Samurai but most civilians are evacuated to rural parts outside the city while a massive barricade is formed, however the Stone Samurai suddenly stand still as Garmadon takes command. At the island, the Overlord orders the Samurai to build a weapon for conquest and they power it by mining Dark Matter, a mud like substance that can corrupt any sentient being it touches and turn them evil. They construct dark matter based weapons and prepare to invade Ninjago, in the meantime the Ninja are sailing to the alleged Dark Island location via a damaged Bounty stop Garmadon. En route they're attacked by Starteeth and the Bounty crashes on a lighthouse island which is inhabited by Dr. Julien, Zane's creator. They're suddenly interrupted by a massive kaiju cephalopod referred to as a Leviathan. Julien explains he was a scientist and engineer beyond his time, and he actually developed Zane, the first robot during Ninjago's rural days. He used Zane as his only son since he had no kids, he also states that Zane's powers come from the original Master of Ice who used a sorcerer to place his powers into a vessel as he didn't have an heir. Years later however Samukai forced Julien to make military vehicles for him and when he refused initially, he overpowers and abducts Zane, eventually wiping his memories. Julien is grateful to be united with Zane again and he helps fix the Bounty engines and hull. They quickly escape the island after Zane sets the captive Leviathan free, who was chained by Samukai to guard Julien.
When the Ninja arrive on the Island they follow Misako's instructions and use an ornament they were given to locate the Temple of Light, a symbolic good temple on the island holding the Gold element. Zane momentarily rescues his Falcon, who's captured by the Samurai. The Ninja get a glimpse at Garmadon's weapon, an enormous tank. Eventually they find the Temple of Light and see that predicted their visit. They get into positions as guided by the pictures and find the bell on the ceiling is meant to bless Lloyd with Gold. The Ninja gain elemental blades from the pillars and Lloyd is blessed with his grandfather's powers, gaining invulnerability and god like status. Lloyd and the other ninja defeat the stone warriors and they retreat to their headquarters, where Wu has defeated attacking Samurai. Misako in the meantime manages to steal Garmadon's helmet and meets with the other Ninja. Using the new Earth Driller and Kai's mech that Nya built they fight Garmadon who's on his own mech. Lloyd holds Garmadon back and the helmet is restored, but the clock doesn't stop. The clock powers the weapon the samurai have built, a tank called Garmatron. Garmadon quickly retreats to power it and the entire mobilized army head to the beach. The Overlord however reveals Ninjago is his to take, and possesses Garmadon. He brutally fights Lloyd and manages to defeat and injure him, while dropping dark matter missiles on Ninjago. The shift in the balance allows a portal to be generated, and the army crosses into Ninjago, and the army attacks the city and zombifies many people. Back at the temple of light, the Ninja find the FSM's mech and Lloyd pilots it with Gold. The Ultra Dragon arrives on the island to transport the Ninja and they fly back to Ninjago. The Ninja are overwhelmed by the army but manage to make it to Borg Tower, where the Overlord manifests in his dragon form. Nya, who was abducted by Garmadon is now corrupted and armed with a cannon. Kai fights her and the rest of the ninja get zombified trying to get Lloyd to the top. Lloyd confronts the Overlord and refuses to hold back, discovering his True Potential and fighting him. The Overlord creates a powerful black hole and nearly manages to kill Lloyd, but the latter amplifies his Gold element and destroys the Overlord's form, causing Ninjago to be restored. Garmadon is revealed to have been purified and back to human form and the Ninja rejoice in their victory, with Kai declaring their achievement is historical and they'll always be there when they're needed.
During the end credits, Lloyd is seen riding with his Golden elemental dragon and says his farewell to the Ultra Dragon, who wishes to return to their homeland, the realm of Oni and Dragon.
Ninjago 7: Rebooted
Ninjago has evolved into a bustling metropolis following the Golden Ninja's battle and is seemingly peaceful, but the Ninja are forced to reassemble when the darkness of the past returns to guarantee their doom.
A year since the Overlord's death, the Ninja have taken up jobs at Darkley's as instructors and Ninjago City has evolved into a cyberpunk metropolis with advanced technology under industrialist and engineer Cyrus Borg. Lloyd has also bonded with Garmadon helping him run a martial arts dojo. The Ninja are invited to Borg Tower for a field trip and the students, Wu, and Nya are guided by Borg's robotic assistant Pixal. During the tour Pixal and the Borg factory machines become compromised and turn on the people. Pixal runs and Wu and Nya barely manage to save the students. In the meantime, Borg gifts the Ninja a statue of himself, but the Ninja drop it revealing to be hollow and containing four weapons called technoblades. The elevator camera detects them and an A.I tells the Ninja to surrender and drop the technoblades. The ninja are alarmed when the elevator drops, but they escape and are targeted by city vehicles including hovercrafts, tanks, and mechs. The ninja realize that the technoblades can hack and they manage to hack some of the vehicles, using them to fight the rogue vehicles. When Kai hacks a plane he finds a prerecorded message on it in which Borg tells him the Overlord survived and manifested his spirit as a virus in the tower computers, having held Borg hostage. They are surrounded on the street by vehicles but they're suddenly purified by a gold blast as Lloyd arrives on his dragon. The vehicles are shown to grow more powerful off of gold element so the ninja flee to Garmadon's dojo. Borg is also converted into a cyborg for giving the Ninja the technoblades, as stated by him the blades can purge him out of the system. Master Wu however is captured by the vehicles
The Ninja take shelter at the dojo and learn the Art of Silent Fist, a dodging practice under Garmadon. While they train the dojo is broken into by Pixal who steals the technoblades, but Zane hacks and purifies her. Pixal reveals that she was accompanied by an army of Nindroids, robotic ninja built by a possessed Borg. They reveal themselves from cloaking and attack but the Ninja escape them. They make their way to a power station located in the jungle and Nya deduces constant electricity supply to the city helps charge the Nindroids. They break into the station and find a glass tank like pillar running a beam of electricity through it. As the Nindroids attack Zane nearly damages himself protecting Pixal from the Nindroid leader Cryptor. The ninja use Art of the Silent Fist to trick the droids into shooting the pillar, causing an electromagnetic pulse that shuts the Nindroids. Zane however survives due to the independent unique power battery Julien built (who has previously passed away). He places half of his dividable battery in Pixal, reviving her. The Ninja spend a few days wondering the jungle and making camp, but at one point a group of repowered droids attack them only to be stopped by a warrior named Seliel. It's revealed she is the daughter of the mayor of the town Nom and that her town was attacked by Serpentine, prompting her to follow the Ninja and become a vigilante. She helps the Ninja fight more repowered droids sent by the Overlord to repair the factory and she eventually helps Lloyd and Garmadon flee into Hiroshi's labyrinth. The three go to the Samurai X cave to get a vehicle and narrowly escape the Overlord's Mecha Dragon sent to hunt them.
The ninja manage to head to Ed and Edna's junkyard to look for parts to give independent power. Ninjago civilians also struggle with their day to day lives without electricity and the city comes to a stand still with riots that police and military are forced to calm. Here however Cole and Jay get into an argument over Nya. As Cole had previously displayed feelings for Nya and it now accelerates when Nya mentions a matchmaker machine she used at Borg Tower showing Cole as a personality match. The argument is interrupted as a droid army attacks them. The Ninja fend them off, but they're also attacked by Wu who has now been converted into a cyborg, as well as masked stranger who had saved the Overlord by copying his form after the blackout. A newly freed Borg and Pixal in the meantime try to make generators to restore temporary electricity in the city and police are providing civilians help. The Ninja find a white scale as one of the stranger's remains and suspect the Serpentine, however they find the Stone Samurai tomb under the city and that the Serpentine made a new civilization there renouncing warfare. Skales also now has a family and condemns the ninja on humanity oppressing them but also states that they're making an effort to avoid interfering with humanity and therefore have no relation to the Overlord. Several powered droids suddenly attack the tomb and the Ninja help fend them off, finding out they have tanks with Electrocobrai snakes attached to them, their power source. The stranger is spotted by Dareth who looks after the Darkleys students, taking Electrocobrai from the aquarium. Skales clarifies that while they can't help fight the Overlord they know that the one Serpentine who is fond of using Electrocobrai is Pythor, who's revealed to be the stranger and alive having survived partial digestion by the Devourer. Lloyd and Garmadon are attacked by Pythor and Wu in the Labyrinth and Garmadon is badly wounded. Lloyd is abducted and Garmadon is thrown into the ocean off the cliffside. The Overlord proceeds to drain Lloyd's Gold and uses a synthesis chamber to build a physical form. In the meantime, Borg makes a virtual reality like device to allow the Ninja to enter their conscious into the Digiverse, the digital world inhabiting the Overlord. He manages to digitize them and the technoblades to purge the Overlord from within the system as he's been relocated. After a prolonged battle the Ninja cleanse the Overlord causing the Mecha Dragon to crash, but unknown to them his physical form has . While a group of attacking droids abduct Borg, Garmadon has returned and fought Wu, who was cleansed of corruption.
Weeks after the system cleansing, the Ninja built a resistance and manage to destroy or purify many droids with help from Seliel and many Nom villagers who join the fight and help bring the city back to order. The Ninja have managed to rescue Lloyd, who survived the crash. He uses the Temple of Light to distribute his Gold among the Ninja, giving them their own elemental powers fully mastered and Lloyd his energy. Pythor and a group of droids however find the Mecha wreck and recover the synthesis chamber, taking it to a secure location. Cole, Nya, and Jay all date with the boys hoping Nya will choose between them, so Wu sends Kai to track Cryptor when they spot him illegally shipping rocket fuel. Kai chases them on his X-1 charger Nya and Pixal built. Kai is compromised when he recklessly fires missiles but he manages to destroy one shipment in a fight. Pythor and Cryptor pilot the other and manage to capture him, not before he reports the Overlord lives. Using a tracker on Kai the rest of the Ninja reassemble at the tower and find out that the Nindroids are planning to fly into space to a passing comet called Arcturus, named after a deceased Anacondrai king. Kai is held hostage at the facility but the Ninja rescue him, but rashly decide to stow away on the rocket as it takes off into space. Garmadon, Wu, Pixal, and Nya stay behind to guide them and deduce the droids are seeking to find the destroyed Mega Weapon and that it was launched into the comet. The Ninja use space suits to exit the storage area but are ambushed by the droids, managing to fend them off and hitch the deployable craft the droids use as they land on the comet. The Ninja follow the droids to the mass of gold, which has replicated itself. The Ninja are attacked by metal consuming alien bugs, and they use this to attack the droids. They all flee, during which the Ninja destroy the droid vehicles, but they find the bugs have destroyed the craft. Cryptor and the droids use their built in rockets to fly back to the rocket and return to the planet.
The Ninja however manage to rebuild a miniature rocket using their powers and fly it off the comet atmosphere, and they use their powers to transform into their elements allowing them to land on Earth safely. During this, the droids convert the gold to power the Overlord into the Golden Master, the prophecy forseen by the Serpentine that an evil as strong as the FSM will rise. The Overlord is built a mech and gains the FSM's powers, using them to destroy and rapidly convert Ninjago. He merges the city buildings together as a giant wall killing countless people, but the Ninja bypass the defense and use the Overlord's old Temple of Fortitude to hide from him. Borg shows the Ninja a shrinking pill he created and Wu and Garmadon attempt to shrink the Overlord with it, but it's swallowed by Pythor instead. They are all joined by the resistance led by Seliel and Skales evacuates the humans. The Ninja are restrained by the Overlord's golden tendrils, but Zane latches onto the mech and the Golden energy is absorbed into him. Zane reaches critical mass in time and the Ninja escape into the sewers with the other people. Zane unleashes an explosion, disintegrating the Overlord and destroying his mech, but leaving massive gold shards, his armor and helmet. Ninjago City is covered with snow produced by Zane and the Ninja find his scraps and remains. Weeks later as the city is still being restored by the people, Borg renounces the technological conversion of Ninjago and accepts their development may not be necessary and always good. A statue of Zane is built in his honor and the Ninja mourn his loss and vow to protect the realm in his name and the people are shown once again restoring the city.
The song "Eye of the Storm" plays in the credits. During the mid/end credits, the scene is set several weeks later where Zane's head, body, and one of his arms is still intact and managed to rebuild itself. With one arm he struggles out of some building debri in the middle of the night, but suddenly a dark figure approaches him armed with a tazing weapon. The figure blasts Zane, frying him. The man takes out Zane's memory drive and his power battery before fleeing from police who see him. The man uses a grappling gun to jump on top of a building and turns around briefly, with his eyepatch glowing before running.
Ninjago 8: Tournament of Elements
Many months after Zane's destruction the ninja and they have disbanded. But a mysterious individual named Chen gives them evidence that Zane is rebuilt and that if they want to see him again they have to participate in his tournament where the new elemental masters will fight each other. But with Garmadon by their side they learn of the circumstances of the original alliance disbanding and Chen's true sinister plot.
Months following the Overlord's destruction, the Ninja go their separate ways and mourn him. Lloyd reassembles the Ninja pondering finding a replacement but they're forced to fight some goons in Master Chen's noodle shop. The goons lead them to the back alley where they find a message from Master Chen, the reclusive founder of the shop, saying that Zane has been rebuilt and is alive. The Ninja decide that despite the dangers they should search for him, and participate in Chen's tournament of elements. Lloyd questions his father about what the name means but he doesn't answer, and deduces where they're going. Garmadon catches up to them and warns them Chen is dangerous. He boards the ship sailing to Chen Island and explains to the Ninja that their elemental powers (except Zane) are inherited by past Elemental Masters, a lineage of warriors blessed with powers by the FSM. Garmadon and Wu were partially blessed with Destruction and Creation but were never taught to master it, and Garmadon's purification removed that. He introduces the Ninja to the many new generation Elemental Masters on the vessel. The ship is commanded by Clouse, a dark sorcerer and right hand to Chen, as well as the warrior Garmadon used to compete with. Garmadon explains that Chen was once his teacher and cunning strategist during the Serpentine Wars, and he fought Clouse in a rivalry.
While on the ship, Kai sees the metal elemental Karloff harass the amber elemental Skylor and having quickly gained feelings for her, fights him, before being broken up by Clouse. They all arrive on the island and are introduced to their living quarters, except Garmadon who's forced to make camp. Chen reveals himself and states he invited the elemental masters to be united and that they'll fight each other in a tournament for a cash prize. In the tournaments they fight, race, or compete for jade blades. The first competition starts and the Ninja are caught by surprise, and everyone's tasked with finding their own blade from the palace. They all succeed except Karloff, who gets cheated by Kai. Garmadon condemns him but Chen applauds it, and throws Karloff through a trap door. The Ninja deduce that Chen has sinister plans for the losers. They all meet in Kai's room and find a secret tunnel, which leads to them finding Karloff being captured by Chen's men and having his powers drained by a Chen's magical staff. The Ninja barely escape Clouse's giant anaconda and go back to the room, deciding to play the tournament to find Zane.
Clouse double's the guard for the intruder and Chen performs many fights where he pits the masters against each other fiercely. The masters Ash, Bolobo, and Gravis are defeated. Cole and Jay, who have previously had rivalry over Nya get heated and are pitted. Despite fighting each other initially they work together to fight Chen's men who interfere, and Cole forfeits, getting eliminated. The Ninja attempt to warn the other masters that Chen lies but they're not believed, as they all covet the prize. They convince Neuro, the telepathic master of mind and he sees the truth, but Clouse threatens him causing him to dismiss the Ninja. Following Jay and Cole's fight the Masters are punished by retracting their private rooms, earning their hostility. During a rollerskate race against Chamille, the master of Form, Lloyd and the other Ninja manage to convince the other masters that they should all unite instead of compete, but Skylor and Chamille dismiss them. Lloyd wins despite Clouse attempting to eliminate the ninja earlier with magic, which Garmadon continuously stops. Chen falsely accuses Lloyd of cheating to excuse eliminating him, but as the Ninja strategically suggested to the other masters that teaming up would increase individual chances of victory, they take Lloyd's side causing Chamille's elimination. Chen however tells the truth about his Staff of Elements and declares it will be the victor's prize, causing the Masters to turn on the Ninja again in pursuit of it. In the meantime, Nya, Misako, Wu, and Dareth plot rescue and backups for the Ninja.
In order to stop Chen's plan, Nya infiltrates the island disguised as a Kabuki and with help from Neuro, manages to pear into Clouse's spellbook. It shows an ancient magic ritual in which FSM's elements combined can grant the wish of the user's chosen transformation. The Ninja also suspect that one of the Masters work directly for Chen to keep the competition steady, and all suggest for everyone to be checked of Anacondrai tattoos which are shared by his minions. Despite protest the other Masters prove they're not working for Chen, including Skylor who's upset with Kai for suspecting her despite having helped him earlier. Shade, the master of Shadow, rejects any part of a common alliance and runs away, suggesting he's Chen's spy. Elsewhere, Zane wakes up in the cell the stranger who caught him put him in, where he has been reconstructed in a titanium form by Clouse and his men. He initially loses his memory but finds out he and Pixal were captured, the latter was dismembered with only her drive intact. Zane inserts Pixal's memory drive as a part of his and has her in his head. He also starts seeing strange visions of a titanium ice dragon attacking him. Cole eventually finds him and helps get Zane free. It's shown the losers are put to work in Chen's food factories as slaves and that they've all been working on a way out.
Elsewhere, Nya is nearly caught and arrested by Clouse, so Chen makes the next competition to hunt her down. It turns out to be a trap for Chen to enact his plot, catching the masters one by one. Eventually every master is captured except Lloyd and Garmadon, and the Anacondrai cultists drain the captured one's powers. While wondering the jungle, Garmadon explains to Lloyd the human's past with the Serpentine, that they went to war around thirty five to forty years prior, and during it Chen was a strategic general who betrayed them. Notably he convinces Garmadon to sign a love letter Wu wrote to Misako, that Chen intercepted, thus leading to the couple's marriage and Lloyd's birth. Kai also finds out that Skylor was the spy working for Chen and in actuality, his daughter. She used the Form element to cloak her tattoo. Kai eventually gets captured but Chen allows him to work for him in exchange for being with Skylor. Chen gains Kai's alliance and explains that he was ridiculed by the elemental alliance during the Serpentine Wars for lacking powers, so he made it his mission to bring the downfall of both sides to show his capabilities. Eventually Lloyd reunites with Kai, but the latter traps him as he's threatened by Chen. Chen fights Lloyd and successfully steals his powers, but Kai reveals that he was buying time. He and Skylor, who had second thoughts, attack Chen for the staff. During this, Cole helps Karloff collect scrap metal and parts around the factory to build a fighter jet, which Karloff had history piloting. They use this to break out of the factory and save an imprisoned Garmadon and Nya. Kai takes the staff and briefly becomes corrupted but is stopped by Cole and the other losing masters.
They all fight Chen and his men, and Kai breaks the staff thus redistributing the powers. Chen and Clouse escape in the ensuing fight in order to chase Skylor, as she had used her powers to absorb everyone's elements. Clouse also fights Garmadon again as the former tries to destroy the jet. Clouse attempts to banish Garmadon into a portal to the Cursed Realm, the afterlife where Garmadon banished Arcturus and his generals during the war, but Clouse ends up banished himself. Despite her escape attempts she and Kai are captured and have their powers drained, and Chen curses everyone who works for him to turn into Anacondra including Garmadon and Skylor. Chen and his army flee the island on helicopters and mechs, intending to conquer Ninjago with them. Zane arrives suddenly on his own dragon and tells the masters they all the power to make their own by overcoming their personal fears or flaws. Feeling determined to fight for the right cause the masters summon their own elemental dragons and head to Ninjago to fight Chen. Chen initially contacts and attempts to break them up by revealing to Wu the truth about his letter, despite this he fails. Chen finds a flaw in the spell, as it needs the essence of an Anacondrai to be permanent, so they abduct Pythor from Kryptarium and forcefully draw blood from him to ensure this. Pythor however manages to escape as the Elemental Masters gather civilian allies, police, military, and Serpentine to combat Chen. They hold a blockade at the Corridor of Elders and fight the army, and with Pythor's help they steal the spellbook showing a method of victory. Garmadon uses himself as a ritual sacrifice to open a portal to the Cursed Realm, banishing him and releasing the souls of Arcturus and the Anacondrai generals, who use magic to kill all the cultists and absorb their spirits into the realm portal. The Ninja and Elemental Masters applaud their victory, but they also mourn the loss of Garmadon who is carved onto the Corridor cliff walls. Lloyd destroys the spellbook and they honor Garmadon, hoping to fight hin his name as they did Zane.
During the credits, a figure manifests in the sky where the realm portal closed, revealing it to be the ghost ninja Morro.
Ninjago 9: The Shadow of Ronin
The ninja spend months relaxing after Chen's defeat and go their separate ways on good terms, along with the masters. However an rise in crime, smuggling, and robbery in Ninjago prompts them to investigate, and lead them to one of the most dangerous criminals in the realm.
Months following Chen's defeat, Ninjago City and the surrounding villages have become plagued with multiple robberies all over the city, causing panic. The Ninja have succeeded with recovering another Staff of Elements from Chen Island but are attacked by Chen's remaining soldiers and a mysterious troop of samurai. After the mission however, the Ninja are ambushed by a group of mercenaries led by a mysterious red samurai. The Ninja manage to use the remove his helmet thus showing his face. The samurai draws a glaive and uses it to drain the Ninja's memories before escaping. Wu and Nya explain to the four Ninja that years have passed and that the samurai they were hunting were responsible and also reported to be the likely culprits of the robberies, and that in addition their lack of memories of their True Potentials removed their powers. Wu determines that the weapon was the Obsidian Glaive, a part of a weapon collection that manipulates the mind. Wu states that they're commonly used for mind control but due to Wu's interference the Ninja just lost their memories.
Under Wu's instruction, the Ninja head to Kryptarium prison to interrogate Hibiki, a criminal who previously used the Glaive. He explains the thief is named Ronin, and that he's responsible for the thefts around Ninjago. He also provides them with the map to the ingredients for the Tea of Insight, which is essential to finding the weapons. The Ninja see the locations of each of the Obsidian blades. The Ninja are attacked by Constrictai soldiers who have been paid by Ronin with his robbery profits, but manage to find the Obsidian Scythe. They also find the Obsidian Sword despite being attacked by Ronin again, but fend him off and use the Tornado to create jetpacks from his mech wreckage and escape. Using Cole's elemental dragon, they travel to a tundra to locate the Obsidian Saias, but during it Zane recalls that Ronin captured him in service for Chen. They're attacked by Hypnobrai working for Ronin as well as a giant ice snake, but bypass them and get to the Saias. However before the Ninja can get the Obsidian Nunchucks for Jay, Ronin reprograms and uses an army of Nindroids to attack the city as a distraction. The Ninja destroy and intercept them, learning of Ronin's location. They recover the Nunchucks but are attacked by Ronin, armed with the Lightning Forge, an ancient crystal artifact. The Ninja regroup and Wu states that legend has it that the four elemental Forges of creation can open interdimensional portals. He deduces that since Ronin worked for Chen, Chen put him up to the task to ressurrect him. The Ninja split up and find the Ice and Fire Forges, but Ronin, who took the Earth and Lightning ones intercepts and steals them. The Ninja go to Hiroshi's Labyrinth to recover the Primal Fulcrum accompanied by Lloyd, which Ronin needs to open the portal. Despite getting it, Ronin sets a trap for them and steals it, but Lloyd shatters the Glaive, which he used to control Misako.
The Ninja intercept Ronin just as he's assembling the Fulcrum. He creates a massive portal that bridges the Cursed Realm and Ninjago. The Ninja find Ronin on a floating rock inside the portal awaiting the spirits of the realm. Ronin uses the forge elements to manipulate matter and make a mech to fight the Ninja with. They use the Tornado to defeat him and surround him, managing to break the Forges and rapidly closing the portal. As the rock breaks apart Ronin uses his aircraft REX to escape. Ronin flees upon seeing the hand of Soul Archer manifest out of the portal. The Ninja destroy the Fulcrum causing the portal to collapse, and the rock to shoot up back to the ground surface. The Ninja rejoice in their victory and vow to capture Ronin when he shows up again.
Ninjago 10: Possession
The ninja live normal lives assisting Master Wu with his new tea shop Steeper Wisdom. But their newfound peace takes a turn for the worse when a supernatural being from Wu's past returns with sinister intentions.
The Ninja have started helping Wu with his new side job at his tea shop Steepe Wisdom. Lloyd is called to the Ninjago Museum of Natural History when one of the security guards are attacked, and it's reported that the Allied Armor, and artifact capable of summoning allies from anywhere to the wearer, was stolen. The guard suddenly attacks Lloyd, with his voice changing and revealing that he is wearing the armor under his clothes. A black humanoid mass leaves the guard, and he states that someone was inside him. The ghost possesses many objects to attack Lloyd and manifests, revealing he's from the Cursed Realm and that he escaped when Garmadon was sent through the portal. The ghost possesses Lloyd and at the same time the Ninja find their powers gone. They go back to Wu who tells them that Lloyd's gold element is a bond between their powers and was detailed in the prophecy. If Lloyd is compromised of his powers or will the Ninja lose theirs. The possessed Lloyd arrives at the shop and beats the Ninja with ease using elemental wind. Wu recognizes who's controlling Lloyd, and after a fight they all escape on the Bounty and Kai fails to awaken Lloyd.
On the Bounty, Wu tells them that Lloyd was possessed by the cursed spirit of Morro, the son of the old Master of Wind back in the Serpentine Wars. Morro summons an elemental dragon combining his wind and energy elements, it to attack the Bounty. Morro breaks in and defeats all the Ninja, eventually stealing Wu's staff and causing the Bounty to crash. The Ninja make camp, and Wu tells them that Morro used to be his adoptive son and was trained under him along with many aspiring students. Morro however grew power hungry when Wu suggested that he could be the prophesized Green Ninja, becoming violent towards him and the students. Wu eventually quits training him when he takes too many risks and starts assaulting villagers, so he runs away hoping to prove himself by finding the FSM's tomb but never returns. Wu sees that he died a sinner and returned with a purpose. Wu's staff had hidden symbols that showed the path to the tomb. In the meantime Morro redraws the symbols he's found and summons his general Wraith to stop anyone who interferes. Wraith targets the Ninja as they journey to Stixx City but they manage to destroy him using water, which dissolves cursed spirits and melts them into ectoplasm. With Wu's help they decode the first symbol on the staff as Airjitzu, an ancient martial art allowing flight. They confront Ronin in his hideout in Stixx after learning he's been spotted stealing the Scroll of Airjitzu from a library. Morro finds out and heads to Stixx where he captures Ronin and waits to ambush the Ninja, but they use Ronin's aeroblades to kill the ghost soldiers. Morro takes the scroll and unlocks airjitzu before escaping, and Kai makes a deal with Ronin when he's nearly killed by strangleweed. The deal was for Ronin to become owner of Steppe Wisdom and become it's owner for profit share. During this, Wu reveals to Nya that her mother Maya was a water elemental master and despite her denial he trains her in mastering her element which she partially unlocks.
The Ninja go to the haunted temple of Yang, the creator of Airjitzu. They pass tests and unlock the power, but in the process Cole is cursed to become a ghost when he ends up trapped in the temple by Ninja use airjitzu to travel to Blind Man's Eye, a mountain portal to the Cloud Realm where the second symbol indicates. The Ninja meet the monk Fenwick who's secretly an ally to ghost general Bansha. Fenwick tries and fails to kill the Ninja and guides Morro to the Sword of Sanctuary, the second symbol and a sword that predicts enemy moves. The Ninja take the sword and manage to ally with Ronin, but he steals the sword and gives it to Morro for profit, despite Nya's efforts to stop him. Morro releases Lloyd and imprisons him, and nearly does the same to Morrow. He possesses Ronin to lead the Ninja into a trap at the Caves of Dispair but fails. Morro locates the tomb and the Ninja follow him till they find the Realm Crystal, an interdimensional transportation artifact hidden by FSM. Morro uses it for his hidden agenda, releasing the Preeminent, the physical embodiment of the Cursed Realm. Lloyd is trapped by the Preeminent's tentacles through the portal and gets taken in. The Preeminent rises through the portal and starts destroying Stixx, plaguing it with ghostly energy and populating it full of spirits who start subjecting civilians. Lloyd leads the other Ninja who are armed with vehicles Cyrus Borg built in order to combat the spirits. Lloyd finds himself in the Preeminent and sees his father captive, but Garmadon insists on going back to fight Morro. Lloyd confronts him and is assisted by Ronin, but the latter helps Wu and Misako evacuate civilians. Lloyd and Morro fight each other with the Sword of Sanctuary and Realm Crystal. Morro manages to abandon Lloyd in a realm and confronts the Ninja as they and the civilians evacuate on a tourist vessel. Nya discovers her true potential and creates a wave to drown the Preeminent, killing her and all the ghosts on the outside. The Preeminent latches to Morro to kill him, and Morro dies giving Wu the Realm Crystal, realizing his vendetta was for nothing and that he would rather be at peace. The Ninja rejoice from their victory and release Lloyd from captivity.
Ninjago 11: Skybound
Months after the ninja destroy the Preeminent, they are bestowed upon the luxury of a celebrity life. But their world is turned upside down when their fame is whisked away by a malicious Nadakhan, who turns Ninjago against them.

They escape the press with help from a fan Nelson, but they are held back and caught by news helicopters when Jay upsets Nya by bringing up their failed relationship, which also reminds Nya of Dareth's doubts about how a girl on the team will change their reputation. Clouse in the meantime locates the Teapot of Tyrahn. He chants an incantation and rubs the teapot, summoning Nadakhan, an ancient Djinn prince and pirate. Nadakhan grants Clouse three wishes but manipulates him into using them all and trapping him in the teapot. Nadakhan researches his past and finds that the crew he commanded on Misfortune's Keep were defeated by Captain Soto, and his crew members were banished across realms using Clouse's magic book, which was previously in Soto's possession. Determining the Ninja to be a threat, he uses his powers to impersonate the Ninja and copy their powers, using to cause destruction and commit robberies around town. The Ninja are targeted by police but they manage to escape and hide. Wu and Misako are also attacked and contained by Nadakhan Ronin is hired to capture the Ninja and does so skillfully, incarcerating them in Kryptarium. The Ninja converse with Soto and he agrees to give them answers about Nadakhan in exchange for his freedom, so they bust him out.
Soto tells them that Djinns can be weakened by Tiger Widow venom. In the meantime Nadakhan steals the Realm Crystal from Hiroshi's Labyrinth and sets his crew free from a captive realm, and they haven't aged due to the time differences. Nadakhan parties with them and takes them to his native realm Djinnjago, but finds his family castle is falling apart from an earthquake. Nadakhan's father, king Khanjikan scolds him for leaving their home but pleads for him to carry their legacy. He states that the Ninja destroyed the Cursed Realm and the balance was disrupted, causing it's sister realm Djinnjago to be destroyed. Nadakhan swears vengeance and leaves. Nadakhan starts attacking Ninjago City and manages to trick Kai into wishing his misfortunes away, causing him to be trapped in Nadakhan's Sword of Souls, also known as the Djinn blade. He attempts to trick Jay too, leading him to find out he's adopted, but doesn't use his third wish. Nadakhan beings to use magic to convert Ninjago by dislodging the land. The Ninja manage to make their way to Tiger Widow Island and milk the venom of one of the spiders but Nadakhan manages to trick Zane into wishing himself away. Nadakhan captures and tortures Jay for days to force him into using his next wish. Ronin reforms and helps the Ninja off of the island and they all manage to rescue Jay, but Nadakhan captures Lloyd and Cole. Jay tells Nya that when he was captive he learned about Delara, Nadakhan's human girlfriend who had died. Nya looks identical to Delara so Nadakhan wishes to marry her, but he actually desires infinite wishes which Djinns gain when they marry.
Jay and Nay hide out at Dr. Julien's lighthouse but Nadakhan's pirates attack them and manage to kidnap Nya after she teleports Jay using Traveler's Tea. Before Jay is transported he confesses his love to Nya and his desire to be with her. Jay assembles a team consisting of Skylor, Soto, Dareth, Ronin, and the Ninjago police commissioner. With Soto's help Jay manages to steal the Djinn Blade as Nya is being forced to marry Nadakhan, and he sets the Ninja free from captivity. Nadakhan gets his infinite wishes and uses them to resurrect Delara within Nya. He grows power hungry till the point he hurts his henchman Clancee, who betrays him to Jay in revenge. Nadakhan takes out his anger on his crew and banishes Clancee along with Doubloon and Monkey Wretch to other realms. Two of them, strongwoman Dogshank and marksman Flintlocke turn on him, the latter was also hurt by Nadakhan. Flintlock agrees to shoot Nadakhan with the venom bullet. Lloyd, Kai, and Cole are killed but Jay traps Nadakhan leading Flintlocke to shoot him, but the venom also lands on Nya, killing her. A heartbroken Jay wishes for time to reverse and the teapot to never be found. Since the wish was made of grief and Nadakhan was weakened he couldn't manipulate it, and time effectively reverses to when Jay and Nay argued on the rooftop. The two recall the events despite being erased but keep it secret, and become a couple again. Clouse finds the teapot but this time is forced to flee from civilians, causing it to be buried under rubble for the foreseeable future.
Ninjago 12: Return to the Dark Island
Misako and Ronin go missing upon investigating the disappearances of several merchants over the course of many months. The ninja must venture back to the perilous island and find enemies they thought would never be seen again bringing an apocalypse to reality.
Misako and Ronin journey to the Dark Island tasked with finding missing merchants and sailors but they are ambushed by pirates. Wu is called to a beach where civilians found a message in a bottle written by Misako, warning them to avoid coming to the Dark Island. Wu refuses and gathers the Ninja and they travel to the island but crash, and find Ronin after fighting some leviathans. He states he escaped the ship but Misako got captured, and Nya and Jay who have crashed elsewhere find out that the pirates are the crew of Misfortune's Keep. The Ninja travel around the island to find Misako and are attacked by wildlife who are corrupted by dark matter. They also find Lloyd behaving aggressively and taking off on his own to find Misako. Zane and Cole find Lloyd at a mine where the lost sailors are enslaved mining dark matter. They find Misako corrupted but Lloyd purifies her with his energy.
Wu finds the mastermind is Clouse, that he found another magic book to help him open interdimensional portals and summon the Sky Pirates to assist him, with the threat he'll banish them if they don't. He's making the sailors mine dark matter to corrupt the Temple of Light. Clouse escapes using the Keep, but the Ninja make a deal with Monkey Wretch and acquire vehicles that he built in exchange for freedom. The Ninja reunite and fight a resistance of sky pirates, but Clouse overwhelms the temple causing the land masses of Ninjago to undergo disasters. When they arrive at the Temple Wu reveals that he rebuilt the golden mech and uses it to fight Clouse and his army of Shadows. Lloyd uses his powers to purify the temple and they all manage to banish Clouse with a portal he opened. Clouse is thrown into the Underworld and the portal closes. The land masses are restored and the Ninja rejoice in victory. They manage to summon military aid to imprison the Sky Pirates, who are incarcerated in Kryptarium Prison.
In the end credits, Wu performs spirit smoke meditation and forsees the return of several enemies as well as the Time Twins.
Ninjago 13: Day of the Departed
The ninja celebrate the sacred and joyous Day of the Departed, but when Cole will be forced to fight for his very survival when Master Yang lures him into a fatal trap.
The Ninja take a trip to the Museum of Natural History for a exhibit showcasing the enemies the Ninja fought. Cole touches an artifact called the Yin Blade with this ghostly form. The artifact previously belonged to Yang, whom Cole blames for his new form. Cole tries to talk to his friends but realizes that they suddenly don't even see or hear him. Cole realizes he has been erased from existence, and believes Yang is connected. He travels to the Temple of Airjitzu (which is still magically floating after Skybound) and confronts him, and in the ensuing fight Cole breaks a vase which is meant to be a dimensional barrier. Yang uses magic to set the souls of the Ninja's enemies free, including Morro, Samukai, Kozu, Cryptor (who's soul has been synthesized by activating him), and Chen, as well as all their henchmen. The spirits come from the Departed Realm and are masses of air until they possess the models of themselves at the Museum, enchanting them into animation to their original forms. They ponder how they're in Ninjago but Yang contacts them and tells them that they have been summoned and can easily kill the Ninja to take their place as mortals but that it must be done before the night of the Yin-Yang eclipse is complete.
Cole is attacked by Yang and is told that this is part of his master plan to set himself free from the Yin Blade's curse, that it's a necromantic and that when he misused the magic it turned him and his students into spirits to haunt the Temple. He requires a soul to replace him and that it will be Cole, and it can only happen on the eclipse night. Cole is captured but manages to trick his students and escape, fighting them. The Ninja are targeted by their enemies, Kai and Nya by Chen, Wu by Morro, Jay by Samukai, Dareth by Kozu, and Zane by Cryptor. Morro however states that he would like to help Wu and that they have a friend named Cole that Yang magically wiped from memory. Each of the Ninja manage to defeat their villains and destroy their forms, causing them to go back to the Departed Realm. The Ninja unite at the Temple of Airjitzu where Yang is fighting Cole, but Cole in his moment of helplessness gains his X upgrade, and gets solidified fists that punch Yang and shatter the Yin Blade. Yang's students use Airjitzu to free themselves from the temple and revert to their mortal forms. Cole convinces Yang that he doesn't have to trap him in order to free himself but Yang states that one person must be cursed to haunt the temple. He stays behind willingly while Cole travels through the barrier, causing him to revert back into human form. The Ninja rejoice having Cole back and he says his goodbyes to Yang. In the end they choose to make the Temple a new headquarters and begin to move in, with Yang accepting.
During the end credits, the Ninja are helping clean up the damages for curator Dr. Saunders while Wu is at the monastery, where he confronts his old enemy Acronix who manifests out of a portal.
Ninjago 14: The Hands of Time
The ninja must assemble to confront two enemies from Wu's past, and determine Ninjago's fate in the past, present, and future.
Days after the Yin-Yang eclipse, the Ninja are at the museum returning the broken mannequins. They ask Saunders about a painting that depicts Wu and Garmadon in combat with supposed fictional warriors called the Time Twins, brothers Krux and Acronix. Elsewhere at Spinjago, a time portal opens and the real Acronix descends from it. Wu fights him, but Acronix beats and nearly kills him with help from the green time blade, which fast forwards time. When the blade manifests the Ninja find themselves transported a minute forward. The Ninja arrive at the monastery and fight Acronix, who bests them all in combat but chooses not to kill them. He meets with Saunders, who's actually Krux in disguise. The Ninja find that Wu has fallen sick since Krux had caused his aging to accelerate with the blade. He explains that Krux and Acronix were both warriors on the old elemental alliance who became traitors, and had actually killed original masters. Wu and Garmadon however contained their powers using the time blades, forged with chronosteel by Kai and Nya's parents Ray and Maya. In the meantime Krux shows Acronix his project while Acronix gets fascinated with the new technology. Krux has been engineering eggs laid by the Devourer into his own species called Vermillion, serpents with a hive mind that will do his bidding.
The Twins use the Vermillion to abduct Borg and damage Zane in the process. When Kai asks Saunders for information his disguise is revealed, and he and Nya fight him and Acronix, during which Krux claims Ray and Maya worked for them in their coup. Kai believes this when he finds a Four Weapons stamp on a Vermillion helmet. The Ninja race to find the blades first, Jay recovers the blue slowing blade from Krux's Vermillion commander Machia and Cole and Zane get the red pause blade. Nya is occupied when she finds out her Samurai X gear has been stolen but that the warrior using it is helping them. Kai and Nya reunite with Ray and Maya after finding them in a secluded forest and find that Krux abducted and threatened them when Kai and Nay were young, which led to him having to raise Nya. They are all however captured by the Twins who force Kai and Nya to use the Dragon Blade crafted by Ray and Maya to make a fusion dragon in order to retrieve the orange reversal blade hidden in a volcanic cavern called the Boiling Sea. The Ninja reunite and manage to rescue Ray and Maya, but the Twins complete the Iron Doom armor they made Borg craft. Using the Vermillion they power the Doom with the time blades and travel back to their banishment. Kai and Nya impersonate Ray and Maya and teach the original masters how to fight the Vermillion. They also heal Wu but everyone's efforts are futile against the Doom.
The past Wu conceals the past reversal blade in the Boiling Sea and Kai and Nya help fight the Doom, forcing the Twins to retreat. Wu, Kai, and Nya fight the twins aboard the Doom but Wu disrupts its course by pulling the reversal blade and throwing two ninja off. Kai and Nya manifest outside of the portal while Wu is stuck in, left fighting the Twins as he's teleported into the future. Kai uses the blade to cure Ray of the aging Acronix inflicted on him earlier. Lloyd takes leadership and vows that they won't rest until they find Wu.
