Walking out of the convenience store defeatedly with nothing in hand, the Super Cub rider couldn't help but notice a blue-haired girl around the same age sitting on her knees as she fiddled with the front of her blue moped.
"Need any help?"
The moped rider took a moment to realize she was being talked to before standing up. "Huh? Oh uh, no. The battery just needs to rest for a bit."
"Ah, I see. It's always a pain whenever that happens..."
"Mmm." the blue-haired girl glanced at the stranger's vehicle. "Can't imagine it happens too much on a Cub like yours often."
"This thing? It holds strong like what's expected from Honda, but it's much older than it looks. I'd be more concerned if your Vino is having consistent battery issues."
"Hope not… My salary at the bookstore I work at wouldn't be able to cover replacing the battery for at least another month."
"Money is definitely the worst enemy for girls like us..."
"You can say that again…" The moped rider couldn't help but notice the slight disappointment in the girl's voice. "You seem upset about something."
"Do I? Eh, this place just didn't have the instant noodles I wanted..."
"Oh, which one?"
"Cup Noodle: Curry…?"
"That? Hold on a moment." The blue-haired girl unzipped and rummaged through one of the many bags behind her moped before pulling out the instant noodles triumphantly, almost like a video game character.
"I never leave home without at least a few. Here you go."
The Cub rider caught the instant noodles thrown her way, placing it in the box attached to her motorcycle. "Thanks…"
"No problem." There was something else on the moped rider's mind after talking with this stranger though. "By the way… Are you from Yamanashi as well?"
"Mhm. Hokuto."
"Motosu."
"Motosu huh? That's quite the drive."
"So is Hokoto."
"Fair enough… I'm planning on heading back tonight though. You?"
"Tomorrow." The blue-haired girl let out a small smile. "There's a spot overlooking the Aokigahara forest and Mount Fuji I plan on camping overnight at."
"Ah, so you're a camper. That would explain all those bags."
"Yes it would. Have you ever gone out camping yourself?"
"Not since I was young, and probably for a good reason too. I can only feel so comfortable outdoors honestly."
"Nothing wrong with that. To each their own after all."
"Yeah. To each their own." The Cub rider finally returned the smile. "You gonna try seeing if the battery works now?"
"Ahh, let's see…" The moped rider inserted her key in the ignition before turning. The second try in, the headlight of the blue Yamaha Vina flashed on. It was back in action, and the camper couldn't be happier.
The black-haired girl let out a content sigh as she patted her shoulder, hopping onto the Cub and putting her head equipment on. "Well, I'm heading off now."
"Same here." The camper got on her moped and put her helmet on. "Thanks for the chat."
"You too." The two girls rolled up their wheels towards the freeway together. "I like the sweater by the way. Very avant garde."
"It was a gift from a friend. I need to get myself a jacket like yours one day though."
"That would be for the best. It's only gonna get colder here after all."
"Mmm. I'm Rin by the way."
"Koguma."
"Well, have a safe trip back to Hokuto then, Koguma."
"Same to you and your camping, Rin."
The two gave one another a knowing nod of approval before going the opposite directions on the Misaka-michi freeway, off to their own little corner of the peaceful Yamanashi Prefecture. The place both of them called home.
