"Edogawa and Minato are calling for reinforcements."
"Well tell them to suck it up, Hoshizora." The Superintendent-General with the name Mifune engraved on her badge pointed as she finished her 13th phone call in the last seven minutes. "I've already got every officer in uniform on the streets and I'm still short-staffed."
"On another matter." A blue-haired woman pointed to the giant map of the Tokyo Metropolis laid out across the conference table. "There's a jello shell engulfing the Big Sight Convention Center in Odaiba, and it ain't breaking no matter what TFD or TMPD throw at it."
The chief of staff to the Governor agitatedly groaned as she slammed her hand on the table. "If they can't get it done, Nakagawa, then they're clearly not trying hard enough."
Suddenly, the doors to the conference room filled with city workers, police and fire officials, and even a Shinto shrine maiden opened, the Governor of Tokyo bursting in bewildered and furious as the camera flashes of journalists lit up the room before the door was promptly closed again.
"Just what the hell is going on? It's flip city out there!"
Her chief of staff stood up from her chair, facing the short woman in charge of the Prefecture. "W-we know Governor Yazawa, and we're working on it."
"Oh great, you're working on it. While you're doing that, I'm busy going down in history as the Governor who let Tokyo become an actual idol hell."
The black-haired politician sighed as she took a seat in her chair, rubbing her forehead as her staff held their breath waiting for her next statement.
"Alright, we got no choice. Get me Shiki Wakana."
"W-wait hold on." Her chief of staff put her hands up cautiously. "I'm sure there's another way."
"Margarete. I just spent an hour in my kitchen talking to Hana Hazuki, and she's been dead for 30 years. Now, where is Shiki Wakana?"
"She's um, not available."
"What do you mean she's not available?"
"Well Governor, I uh… had her committed to the psychiatric ward of Yuigaoka Hospital."
"You what!?"
"I was just protecting your interests, ma'am. For the re-election campaign."
"Oh yeah? Well you no longer need to protect my interests." The Governor began chasing the purple-haired woman around the table. "Thanks to you and your actions behind my back, you unintentionally just unleashed the goddamn apocalypse on us all!"
"But the electi-"
"You're fired! The black-haired woman shoved the now former chief of staff against the door.
"Mifune, get her out of the building. Now." She shouted as the Superintendent-General escorted the former government employee out of the room.
"Nicocchi." The Governor turned to face the shrine maiden, who was looking hypnotically out of the window amidst the chaos in the room. "Come take a look at this…"
The black-haired woman slowly approached the window, the rest of her staff close behind as they looked in abject horror at what was happening outside in Tokyo.
Mount Fuji was bleeding blood red from its summit as the afternoon sky became as black as charcoal. Right in the center of it all though was an eerie purple aura, transforming into numerous objects as it spread above the city. Like a virus mutating under a microscope.
Looking around the room, the Governor saw the disconcerted faces of her brainy staff and the brawny emergency service personnel. When Superintendent-General Mifune reentered the room, her heart dropped. The toughest woman she knew had nothing but a face of fear as she looked at the sight beyond the window.
Lastly, the shrine maiden. The woman who seemed to know it all and never once showed any sense of alarm, looked on quietly as the aura further engulfed the city horizon. She and her tarot cards had no answers.
The Governor slowly looked out of the window once more with the rest of her staff, barely able to speak as nothing but a purple glow lit up the conference room. Nico knew there was only one person who could fix this now. The only question was could she get it done in time?
"Somebody get me Shiki Wakana…"
