Curse of the Cat Eyed Jewel

While training the Ninja, Wu mysteriously restricts Jay from using an umbrella. He chooses to tell the Ninja the story of one of his first adventures with Garmadon. The First Spinjitzu Master gets angry at his sons Garmadon and Wu for defying him by befriending the treacherous serpentine sorceress Aspheera, whom the brothers have defeated. For redemption, Wu sends his sons on a quest to find a potion to purify Garmadon of the corrupting Devourer venom. The two journey through a foggy forest where they encounter a strange cat woman who knows spinjitzu, and saves them from a monster and bandits. The cat ninja introduces herself as Nineko and offers to teach Garmadon and Wu her skills in martial arts if they take the cat eye jewel, an artifact the bandits took from her. Since Nineko herself can't take it due to an enchantment she trains the brothers in her fighting style called "Catjitzu". Due to Wu's pestering, Nineko reluctantly tells the brothers that she once new their father who had falsely accused her of stealing one of his katanas, causing her to renounce training with him.

Wu begins to doubt Nineko when she urges them to take the jewel, and when the brothers ambush a bandit he claims that Nineko is the real enemy. The man, Dillon, is a member of the Ancient Order of Felis who have been tasked which protecting the jewel which Nineko craves for power. Wu believes him causing him to argue with Garmadon who doesn't, and Garmadon eventually goes back to Nineko. Nineko however confesses to Garmadon that it is true and that she's trained in dark sorcery which the jewel provides, and captures him. In the meantime, Wu meets warrior Adara and the Order's leader Komala who tells Wu about Nineko wanting to use the jewel to become immortal and that she manipulated many people to steal it. They're confronted by a mind controlled Garmadon and Nineko, who summons Warriors of Felis, an army of humanoid cats. The two armies fight and Wu fights Garmadon. Wu eventually grabs the jewel and the soldiers restrain Garmadon but Nineko sets him free and they both attack Wu. They confront Wu at the ravine he and Garmadon encountered and after the fight Nineko falls off the cliff. Komala also cleanses Garmadon of his mind control and uses magic to remove the cats. They all hide the jewel at the top of the mountain. In the present, Wu states he found Nineko's umbrella and Jay attempts to use it to summon the Felis Warriors but ends up getting soaked by ordinary rain, as only a true sorcerer can wield it.

Layer of Tanabrax

While visiting a village's turnip festival, Wu explains to the Ninja why he has a pupaphobia. During his and Garmadon's youth the brothers stumble across villagers Hana and her grandmother Obachan, who are in fear as the village has been repeatedly attacked and undergone abductions including Hana's brother Shin. They give the brothers a place for the night as they're traveling, but that night they wake up to see living giant puppets skulking about the village. They and Obachan come up with a plan to use Wu as bait to find out what they want, and two puppets Bunch and Moody take him remarking that the boss needs a soul. Wu is taken to the puppet leader Tanabrax, and despite Garmadon's attempts to free him Tanabrax enchants Wu with djinn magic and turns him into a puppet. Garmadon abducts Moody and flees. Moody is forced to tell them that Tanabrax used to be human and that every human converted into a supernatural puppet will face permenancy soon.

Garmadon formulates a plan and briefly trains the villagers in combat. He leads them into combatting the puppets furiously and they're nearly overwhelmed. Hana, Obachan, and Garmadon bypass traps in Tanabrax's layer. As the group infiltrate the forest lair Moody turns on Bunch and Garmadon is forced to fight Wu. Hana manages to trap him and Garmadon finds a cave with the human counterparts of the victims sleeping. He confronts Tanabrax but realizes he's a shadow and can't be fought. Tanabrax nearly turns Garmadon into a puppet but he uses a hand mirror Obachan gave him to weaken Tanabrax and take the amulet. Obachan manages to bring light into the cave, killing Tanabrax. They find a spell book in his possession and Moody uses it to restore the puppets back to humans. The villagers celebrate and hail Wu and Garmadon as heroes.
