Chapter 2 Ricky finds Snowball
While Ricky was making his way through New York City Snowball continued enjoying his life with Molly. Whenever Snowball and Molly play together they either play dress up, tea parties or whatever fun toys and games they enjoy together. Sometimes when Molly has friends over they love playing with Snowball as well who thought Snowball is the cutest. "I enjoy all of the love and attention I get" Snowball thought to himself one afternoon while receiving head pats and treats from Molly and her friends. Snowball had no idea that he was going to get a visit from an old friend who he thought was long gone. Later on Snowball was in Molly's room with Molly sitting on a special chair where he and Molly read books together.
Snowball looked at the pictures while Molly read aloud the story she was reading called The Runaway Bunny. When Molly was done reading she closed her book and said to Snowball, "I hope you don't run away Snowball because I would be very sad not being able to hold and love you like I do right now." Molly gave Snowball a big hug before tucking him in bed and going to bed herself. "I love you too Molly and don't worry I'm not going anywhere" Snowball said to Molly while she was sleeping. While Snowball was sleeping Ricky finally made it to the neighborhood where Snowball lived with his owner along with the rest of his animal friends. "I finally made it. I think I'll continue my search in the morning because I'm tired" Ricky told himself as he flew on top of a building and fell asleep.
The next day Snowball was playing with Molly when Molly's mom came in to tell Molly something, "Molly we're spending the night at Grandma because she wants to have a movie marathon with you. How does that sound?" Molly smiled and replied, "That sounds great." Molly's Mom was happy to hear it and together they started to pack an overnight bag. "Don't forget to leave extra food and water for Snowball" Molly's mom reminded Molly because whenever Molly is away she is incharge of making sure that Snowball has plenty of food and water. Also when Molly and her mom are away a neighbor of theirs looks in on Snowball to make sure he is ok. "Bye Snowball be a good bunny and I will see you tomorrow evening" Molly said before leaving with her mom to go to her grandma's house.
After making sure Molly and her mom left Snowball ate some of his food and went into the living room to watch cartoons on the big T.V. While Snowball was relaxing and watching T.V. Ricky was watching Snowball from afar as he has been doing since he woke up this morning. Ricky flew past Snowball's window but Snowball didn't notice him because the curtains were down. Ricky landed on Snowball's window sill and started pecking at the window to get Snowball's attention. Snowball didn't notice the noise at first until it got louder and decided to find out where the noise was coming from. He turned off the T.V. and went to investigate. Snowball found out the noise was coming from the window in the kitchen and when he drew back the curtains to see who was pecking at the window Snowball started screaming at the top of his lungs as if he had seen a ghost. "AH!" screamed Snowball as he couldn't believe who he had just seen. "Ricky?!... Is that you?... I thought you were…DEAD!"
Ricky replied, "I'm not dead Snowball. I'm alive just like you, my old friend." Snowball managed to squeeze through the open window to get a closer look at Ricky. "What happened to you? You're wearing an eye patch and you look like you've been in a fight since some of your feathers are missing. But most importantly how are you still alive and where have you been?" Snowball questioned as he couldn't believe Ricky was alive. "Those are questions I will gladly answer but for now I need to get you out of here and bring you home" said Ricky as he was nudging Snowball to come with him. "I'm sorry Ricky but I am home. I live here now. I'm no longer with The Flushed Pets and I have a wonderful owner who loves me with all of her heart. I can't go with you" Snowball said to Ricky.
Ricky tried to remain calm about what Snowball just told him and as calmly as possible he asked, "Are you actually saying you really want to stay with a human? Have you forgotten what humans have done to me, you and everyone else in our gang? We were abandoned and cast aside by the humans who claimed to care about us when in reality they didn't?!" Snowball looked at Ricky and replied, "Not all humans are awful like our previous owners were. Molly is the best and everyday I still can't believe a sweet little girl like Molly exists because I've never known what it was like to be loved." After hearing Snowball's answer and denial of going with him Ricky got upset and said, "Well if that's your answer then my old friend I hope you can forgive me for what I'm going to do next."
Before Snowball could react to what Ricky just said Ricky karate chopped Snowball in a way to knock him out, put Snowball on his back and started to fly back to the sewers where the members of the flushed pets were. As Ricky was flying away with Snowball in tow Tiberius the red-tailed hawk saw what was going on. He recognized Snowball and knew that he was a friend of his best friend's boyfriend. Tiberius flew as fast as he could to Gidget's place to tell her what he saw.
Author's Note: For this chapter I wanted to include a sweet moment with Molly and Snowball reading a story book together. I recall this book from my childhood called The Runaway Bunny written by Marget Wise Brown (1910-1952) Illustrated by Clement Gazzam Hurd (1908-1988) that was published in the year 1942. As for the rest of this chapter, it looks like Snowball is in trouble and he most likely will need the help of his friends that he made after getting adopted. Please stay tune for the next update to this story to find out what happens next. Peace out from Princesspeach102!
