Chapter 2

Greetings readers! I hope that all of you enjoyed reading my previous chapter!

Guest reviewer: Thank you for those kind words. I'll do my best to make this story a good one and this is my first story that's purely a angst/tragedy. It's also my first story to be written with an inverse narration with the world already being a dystopia, while narrating how it got here through flashbacks. So flashbacks will be an integral part of this story's narration since they're the ones that give depth and context to this story. Thank you for your continued support!

Jubby1905: Agreed, the fallen angel trope is a treat to read and write. And it's even better when it already starts in a dystopia. I'd originally thought of making this a two story piece, with the first focusing on Percy's descent into darkness, while the second starts off with this but I decided to try something different instead with inverse narration. And I'm glad you're liking it! Thank you for your continued support!

Zilla boi: Yes, the next chapter of Curtainfall is almost over. I just had to get this one out to give some more context to this story. Thank you for your continued support!

Theonedevin: Don't worry, you will get a very, very detailed background into why and how Percy became a bad guy through flashbacks and narrations. Thank you for your input!

I would like to thank for DARK WRAITH 2001 for your continued support!

Theo's mind was spinning. This was not at all what he had expected when he had opened that door. The woman had said Lord Poseidon. Theo knew that name, even though he shouldn't have, he had learnt it in secret. It was the name of the old god of the sea and his mind raced when he realised that the man standing behind him, the man who he considered a father, was actually a god.

"Lord Poseidon, please, we desperately need your help. We have finally found a way-" The raven haired woman started but she was cut off by Poseidon.

"Enough, Thalia. You have betrayed my trust. I gave you a way to find me if you ever wanted to accept the truth and settle down. I didn't give it to you so that you will track me down and put my nephew in danger." Poseidon angrily hissed.

"This is our only shot, uncle! Why can't you understand that?! You and your son, are our only remaining hope against him. You are the only ones who can defeat him and bring his tyranny to an end." Thalia pleaded desperately.

"What?! I'm your son? I'm a demigod?!" Theo asked in complete shock and utter disbelief.

"Not the time, Theseus. Not the time." Poseidon turned and stated through gritted teeth. And Theo wisely chose to shut up. He had never seen his uncle, no, his father so furious.

"Spare me the false hopes, niece. The battle is over. We lost twenty years ago. How many false dawns have plagued us? I can't even count. The First War, when two dozen minor gods banded together, and failed. That was nineteen years ago. The brief liberation of Australia ten years ago, which was soon brutally regained, resulting in the death of Will Solace and millions of others. The Central Asia War five years ago which saw similar catastrophes, along with the death of Clarisse La Rue. We lost the day Percy carried out a coup against the Olympian Council twenty years ago. We lost everything. And there is nothing we can do now except learning to live in this world. This is the new normal." Poseidon angrily responded, with his voice filled with despair and bitterness.

"You are right. We lost everything. But that gives us all the more impetus to build a better world than this. It can't get any worse than this." Thalia argued back but flinched when Poseidon whirled on her.

"What sort of delusion are you living in? It can't get worse than this? I have seen first-hand what Perseus Victoris can do. Percy Jackson is dead. The man who now stands in his place will do whatever it takes to solidify his hold on power. He will tear you apart, limb by limb, crucify your entire family in front of you, control the blood in you and make you commit unspeakable horrors as he watches on without even a shred of a conscience. He will raze an entire continent if required in order to wipe out the Resistance. And unlike you, I have someone to live for and to protect." Poseidon answered in a raised voice.

"You are the one living in delusion if you think Victoris will let you and your son, who is just brimming with potential, live in peace forever. The moment he realises how powerful your son really is, there is nothing you will be able to do other than helplessly watch as he drags your son away, just as you could only helplessly watch twenty years ago as he betrayed you." Thalia responded with equal ferocity. And Poseidon's face darkened at the mention of that.

"Get out of my house." Odysseus, no, Poseidon, stated with a dark look on his face.

"Uncle-" Thalia started but Poseidon furiously cut her off.

"Do not test my patience, Thalia. You will not like that the results. You and the Resistance can do whatever you want. But you will not be dragging my son into this futile mess that will get all of you killed eventually." Poseidon harshly intoned before closing the door in Thalia's face.

"I assume you have plenty of questions." Poseidon stated with a weary sigh, as he turned to face Theo who slowly nodded at him.

"Yes, but let's have dinner first, dad. Don't want the pasta to get cold now, do we?" Theo stated with a feeble smile in an attempt to lighten the mood. And despite his weariness, Poseidon couldn't help but smile softly at that.

Dinner had been a quiet affair. The two of them had eaten in silence, trying to formulate what to say but still unsure of how to proceed further. Finally, once they were done and had washed the dishes, Theo and Poseidon sat in front of each other, in stoic silence before Theo decided to break it.

"So I am actually your son? Your demigod son?" Theo tentatively asked.

"Yes, Theo. You are my son. I'm sorry to have hidden this from you all these years but you must understand, this was for your own good. I had to protect you, if he found that you are my son, he would whisk you away and break your spirit to turn you into the same brutal menace that he has become." Poseidon responded in a quiet voice.

"It's fine, I understand why you did what you did. But who's my mother then?" Theo asked a bit cautiously. And Poseidon seemed to take a few moments before he answered.

"Your mother was Sally Jackson, Theo. I am your father. You were born half a year after the Great Betrayal had begun. Your mother and I, it just happened." Poseidon answered, fumbling through his words a little.

"Who was Percy Jackson? Was it the General's old name? And why is his surname Jackson? Am I related to him? You told me he carried out a coup against the old gods, did he betray you as well?" Theo asked in quick succession and just at the mention of the name Percy Jackson, Poseidon's shoulders slumped forward.

"Percy Jackson was once the greatest hero to ever walk the Earth. And he was mine and Sally's first son. He was your brother." Poseidon answered in a broken voice.

"Was?" Theo asked confusedly.

"Percy Jackson died twenty one years ago. The moment he betrayed me, and started the genocide of gods, he ceased to be Percy Jackson and turned into Perseus Victoris. When that happened, the hero within him was destroyed and the brutal menace that stands today took his place. Percy Jackson was my son. He was your brother. Perseus Victoris is a cruel, heartless monster who is the personification of darkness." Poseidon bitterly responded.

"But how? How did this happen? How could a man who you proclaim was once the greatest hero ever to walk the Earth turn into a monster like this? It should be impossible!" Theo questioned his father in a frustrated tone.

"Before we go any further, let me explain to you in detail what the Olympian Council was, who the Olympians were and what were the wars we fought in, the wars that made Percy a hero." Poseidon stated before patiently explaining the Second Titanomachy, the Second Giganotomachy, the history and structure of the Olympians to Theo. It took some time but he eventually managed to give Theo enough information for him to be able to follow with what Poseidon was going to say next.

"So let me get this straight, this guy, saved the world, not once but twice. And then suddenly, he turned into the greatest villain the world has ever seen and became one of the monsters that he had fought his entire life?" Theo asked, in disbelief, something was not adding up.

"He didn't turn villainous suddenly, Theo. It was a slow, gradual process that culminated in his turn to the dark side. Theo, the sea is a sentient being, whatever emotions we use to draw upon our powers from it, it sends us back those emotions, in an amplified state, through the same channel. There is darkness within all of us, son. Percy was no different. But, the reason he became what he is, is because he focused excessively on using his negative emotions to become stronger." Poseidon stated with a sigh of defeat.

"But how? He could not have suddenly started turning darker? There must have been something that set him off." Theo reasoned.

"Theo, the darkness had always been within Percy. Even before his complete turn to darkness, there had been smaller flashes of it, but the darkness had always been reigned in and ultimately overpowered by his love for Annabeth Chase, a daughter of Athena who was the love of his life and the woman of his dreams. As long as she was around, the darkness had never managed to take a hold of Percy." Poseidon explained with a distant look in his eyes.

"She died." Theo stated in a quiet tone.

"Yes. It all started with her death. He was utterly heartbroken, Theo. He even almost committed suicide because he couldn't bear to live without her. And as his father, I couldn't watch him suffer like that, so I took him to Atlantis with me, in an attempt to comfort him and help him rebuild his life. But that didn't happen." Poseidon whispered in a broken voice.

"He was my most gifted son, Theo. Because he was my only child to gain the same microscopic and unfathomable control over water, in each and every form that I possess. But it had always been dormant in him. Until, he awakened it in Tartarus, the hellhole of the cosmos, against a Protogenos, a primordial being of great power, and there was no looking back after that. Unfortunately, with that power awakened and with him being consumed by his own dark thoughts after Annabeth's death, it led him into taking drastic actions." Poseidon stated with a weary sigh.

"What were those actions? Was that when he executed the coup?" Theo gingerly asked.

"No. The coup didn't happen until eight years later. I'm talking about almost three decades ago, Theo. Percy's first response after her death had been to approach the gods and try to strike a deal to revive her. He pleaded with them, wholeheartedly, Theo, he told them he would be willing to do anything in exchange for Annabeth being revived, but the Council, refused. Even though he had a lot of support, mainly my sisters Hestia and Demeter, me, Aphrodite, Apollo and Annabeth's mother Athena." Poseidon answered in a calm voice.

"Why didn't the motion go through?" Theo quizzed.

"Zeus and Hades conspired together to find a way to overrule the motion under the pretence of Ancient Laws, even though this had been violated earlier in favour of one of reviving one of Zeus' vile sons by turning him into a god. The two of them had always harboured a deep seated dislike of Percy and they used this opportunity to inflict pain upon him." Poseidon stated with gritted teeth.

"What?! How could they? After all he had done for them? How could they refuse him this? And why didn't you do anything about it?" Theo angrily asked.

"That was the nature of gods, Theo. Especially my brothers, they were vile, cruel and arrogant. But it was entirely my fault for underestimating the damage Annabeth's death had caused to Percy. I didn't do anything more because it didn't feel like it was worth starting a civil war over something like this, not after we had just recovered from two large scale divine wars. And that foolish assumption, that Percy would eventually move on from this betrayal by the gods, turned out to be our undoing." Poseidon stated as his shoulders slumped in defeat.

"I take it he was furious with them." Theo concluded.

"Absolutely. He exploded in anger. But it was a different type of anger, a cold-blooded fury. An insatiable thirst for revenge was born in him that day. And that eventually grew into a darkness that destroyed all the light within him." Poseidon sadly answered.

"I assume he took the next eight years to hone his skills, to become stronger and stronger and carefully plot the coup?" Theo asked, his deep grey eyes shining with mature intuition.

"Yes. He turned to the darkness, pouring all his hate for the gods, his blood thirst and vengeance into his powers. I was oblivious to what was happening within him, or rather, I chose to be oblivious, believing that he was just grieving. Inner turmoil was the hallmark of the House of Poseidon, Theo. We all struggled with reigning in our own inner darkness. I thought Percy was doing the same, little did I know, that he was drawing on the darkness. I made him a partial Immortal, I wanted to make him a god but he hated the very notion of it, but I didn't know back then that he was starting to build a deep seated hatred of all gods. Then, I taught him everything I knew, and he tirelessly honed his skills, calling upon all his rage, day in and day out until eventually, at the end of eight years, he was more powerful than even my wife and immortal son." Poseidon stated, before drinking a glass of water.

"But even if was so powerful, that he eventually grew as strong as one of the gods, it doesn't make sense how he managed to overthrow you and the rest of your brothers? Even if he became as powerful as one of you, he should not have been as powerful as the three of you. How did he destroy Zeus and Hades before that?" Theo asked with confusion evident on his face.

"Percy had gained a very deep seated hate against the Olympian Council, especially Zeus and Hades after what happened to Annabeth. I was never a fan of them and knew of his resentment. I shared some of his queries too. The Olympian Council was in no way perfect. And Zeus was far from a good ruler. But the Olympians had always kept a check on each other due to how similar most of them were in power. And my brothers and I kept a check on each other. It was a system that was inefficient but it mostly worked. But Percy, he saw and focused only on its vices. And he used my fear of Zeus and Hades growing too afraid of him to engineer a coup in the Council, with my help. I didn't want to lose my son, and in my fear, I allowed my fatal flaw to get the better of me and agreed to engineer the coup with him." Poseidon confessed with a weary sigh.

"What?! You were a part of the Great Betrayal?" Theo practically screamed with bewilderment written all over his face.

"Yes. We plotted together, to engineer a coup. We managed to get my sisters, Apollo and Aphrodite on our side. We managed to convince Hades to stay neutral in the conflict, in a promise to provide him with Zeus' domains when we won." Poseidon recounted with remorse shining in his eyes.

"Then we waited, Percy came along with me to a Council meeting. We waited for Hades to leave. And then we sprung into action. When the others least expected it, we sprung our attack, just as Zeus got off his throne, Hera blasted it into pieces, severely weakening him. Enough for Perseus to burst out and rip apart his limbs. The rest of us acted quickly, we engaged the rest of the Olympians. And since Percy was partially immortal, his already terrifying powers were greatly augmented. He then proceeded to help us destroy his cousins, slowing them in their fights with us, allowing us to land the killing blows." Poseidon stated with cloudy eyes full of sorrow.

"Once that bloodbath was over, I was invited by Hades to the Underworld along with the other remaining gods. Obviously, he didn't trust us. He worried we would do the same thing to him that we did to Zeus. He was naturally fearful. So, he called us to the Underworld. Where he was vastly more powerful than me. But he forgot about Percy. And that was his undoing. Percy came out of the shadows, hidden as a blanket of water I had surrounded myself with while going to the Underworld. He came out, used all his power to freeze Hades' head for a second. And that was enough for Persephone to drive a dagger in the back of her husband's head." Poseidon concluded.

"With that, he had eliminated the two greatest threats to his rule." Theo realised.

"Yes. He then became a full immortal. Once again becoming more powerful by orders of magnitude. A few weeks later, I came to Olympus to discuss setting up a Republican Senate of the Gods, that would vote for making two people consuls of sorts for fixed periods, since that was what my sisters and I had always wanted. A system that gave representation to everyone. That was our plan. But Apollo and Aphrodite, along with Percy, had different plans. In that meeting, they did the same thing to us that we had to the other Olympians." Poseidon stated as his eyes closed to fight back tears that were threatening to spill out.

"Imagine my shock at seeing my own son, my greatest son destroy my throne, weaken me severely and snatch away my trident, my symbol of power. All of this had seemed unfathomable, yet it happened. They slaughtered my sisters. But Perseus left me alive. He didn't do anything apart from destroying my throne and taking my trident. And then he exiled me, took over the seas by destroying the physical forms of my wife and immortal children. And once that was done. He started the Great Purge." Poseidon stated in a broken voice as a tear slipped from his eye.

"How? Even with all his strength, he could not have destroyed all the hundreds of gods that had roamed the world." Theo desperately asked.

"The demigods. He used the demigods. He empowered most of them by turning them into immortals. But he did it in a way such that he would always have complete control of the Ichor in them. But they didn't know that. And they all flocked to his side, some willingly, some were forced to. But all helped him hunt down the gods. A few dozen managed to escape, given warnings by Hestia before she was brutally decapitated by him. But it was done. Percy had his power. He had his army of immortals. And he set about fulfilling his dream. Destroying the gods. All the gods. And then he took over the world. I believe only a handful of the original demigods who didn't turn, survived, and are now a part of the Resistance." Poseidon finished in a hollow voice as he looked up to the sky.

"What happened to Apollo?" Theo asked.

"He met the same fate as the other gods when Percy eventually destroyed him as well. Percy knew the gods would reform unless he wiped out their existence from the annals of history. He destroyed the Fates themselves. And he conquered the entire world to ensure the gods never regained a footing. At the end, the only god who remained at his side was Aphrodite, who became the Chancellor of the Council of Immortal Demigods. And Percy become the Governor-general of the Council of Immortal Demigods and became the de facto ruler of the world." Poseidon answered bitterly.

"How come Aphrodite wasn't killed? Isn't she also a goddess?" Theo asked with confusion evident on his face.

"Chaos only knows what sort of disgusting debauchery they commit with each other. I have no doubt that it was Aphrodite who was the biggest conspirator in this. Perseus could never love after the death of his true love. Perhaps Aphrodite exists only as a stress outlet for him. Perhaps she controls him with that. I do not know how she managed to survive. But all I know is that my son, Percy Jackson, is dead. All that remains is Governor-General Perseus Victoris Orbis." Poseidon spat in disgust.

"Then maybe this is our chance to correct the wrong? Maybe Percy is just lost and he needs help, someone who can coax him out of his state of rage." Theo naively suggested.

"You're a good man, Theo. Like your mother before you, you always look for the best in people. But I can assure you, there is no good in Perseus Victoris. All the good in him died with Percy Jackson. And the man, no, the monster, who runs this world is not your brother. He is a vengeful, hateful being of pure malice whose only goal is to eliminate the entire legacy of the gods forever. He is an abomination who uses his own suffering to become stronger and stronger by drawing on hate and rage. He is a man so consumed by darkness that I don't doubt that even his heart is black." Poseidon spat out in a disgusted voice.

"But-" Theo started but he was immediately cut off by Poseidon.

"No buts, Theo. I lost two sons. I failed both Triton as well as Percy. I simply refuse to fail you as well. We have a good, peaceful, content life. That is enough. Nothing more, nothing less." Poseidon firmly stated in a voice that left no room for argument before leaving the kitchen. But there were still many questions that he had to still answer. And Theo knew he would have to get those in due time.

Percy walked through the deserted streets of Elysium. It wasn't a shock to him that most good souls feared him. Of course, when he had taken over the Underworld, he had ensured that the system of judgement was as impartial as it could be for common souls. That was one of the biggest reformations he had wanted to bring in. That system existed for all except members of the Resistance. They only had an eternity of torment ahead of them.

Even then, his very presence radiated power and struck deep fear within all those in his vicinity. But like always, hours into his search, he still failed to find the soul he had been looking for. This was the hundredth time he had done this in the past twenty years. And the result had been all the same, this time as well. Realising that his search was fruitless, once again, Percy disappeared in a blue mist.

Percy paced in the throne room of Utopia, the name Percy had given to the city of Olympus after taking over, as he waited for a report from Frank about the two Immortal Demigods who had been sent to Tartarus to search for her soul. He had sent numerous expeditions in the past twenty years but this was the first one to make it back. He was definitely promoting these two demigods. Perhaps, he would even make them overloads of continents. He was brought out of his thoughts when Frank entered the room.

"You better have good news for me, Zhang." Percy grumbled. This side, this fractionally softer side of him, was reserved only for Frank Zhang and his wife Hazel Levesque. They were his most loyal lieutenants and were the only ones Percy still saw as something remotely similar to friends.

"I'm afraid not, General. Her soul was nowhere to be found in Tartarus either. And this was after our two strongest combatants scoured that entire hellhole. It took them three full years. They're the only one of the six groups we sent to have made it back. And if they didn't find her soul even there, it can mean only one thing…." Frank crisply answered before trailing off, in an apologetic tone.

"She is in the Void of Chaos." Percy solemnly finished. And Frank stiffly nodded.

"You did a good job, Zhang. You deserve some time off. And tell those two demigods I want to see them tomorrow. They have a reward waiting for them." Percy waved Frank off before disappearing from the throne room and materialising in front of a memorial.

Percy's flowing, shining jet black hair had been pulled into a tight ponytail and his short beard was trimmed neatly as he stoically stood in front of a large golden statue. A statue of Annabeth Chase, a woman who had been the very purpose of his existence. And she had been snatched away from him.

His dark and cold emerald eyes shifted to a brooding, anguished olive and he wordlessly stood in front of her statue. He had built this world so that he could revive her. So that they could have the world where they could live exactly the way they had wanted to, to live the life that had been snatched away from them. A world without pesky gods to make their life harder. But now that he had lost her, seemingly forever, he asked himself if it had truly been worth it. And just for a second, his eyes shifted back to a sombre sea green before his eyes closed as he imagined himself back in the past.

"Come on, Seaweed Brain, don't be lazy. We still have so much to unpack." Annabeth gently chastised Percy who had plopped down onto the only sofa that had been set up in the house, in their new house.

They had spent four years studying in New Rome together and, after all those troubles, they had finally graduated a few weeks ago. And now, they were back in Manhattan for their new jobs.

Percy had taken up a job as a professor of Marine Biology, given his excellent qualifications in that subject, in a prestigious college while Annabeth had gotten into the architectural firm of her dreams. And now that they were twenty two year olds with stable jobs and a somewhat normal life, given the defeat of Gaia, they had finally decided to move in together.

"Cut me some slack, Wise Girl. I did all the heavy lifting today. Besides, we don't need to set up everything today. Let's take our time." Percy replied with a lazy smile.

"You know I dislike holding off such things, Percy. Now get moving and make yourself useful unless you want me to do that for you." Annabeth ordered.

"Athena and her bossy children." Percy grumbled under his breath.

"What was that?" Annabeth asked a raised eyebrow.

"Nothing, I was just musing to myself how much I love you." Percy hastily corrected before quickly moving on to unpacking the rest of the boxes.

Finally, a few hours later and deep into the evening, once they had finished unpacking and setting up everything, they found themselves on the same couch, with Percy laying on it and Annabeth curled into him.

"Moving in with someone who has severe OCD, what have I gotten myself into?" Percy asked with a fond smile on his face.

"First of all, being meticulous is not the same as having OCD. In fact, OCD is actually a-" Annabeth started but stopped when Percy faked a yawn to indicate his boredom.

"Besides, you knew exactly what you were getting into when you asked me to move in with you, Seaweed Brain. And that is no way to act around your girlfriend." Annabeth answered with an exasperated smile on her face as she playfully smacked his chest.

"That I did, that I did." Percy didn't even try to hide the huge grin that broke out on his face. The two of them enjoyed the ensuing silence, as Annabeth listened to his calming heartbeat while Percy gently stroked her hair.

"Did you ever imagine that we would be where we are today?" Annabeth softly asked, after a few minutes.

"Honestly, no. This is all I have ever wanted since I found out I was twelve. But I thought I was destined to die on my sixteenth birthday. And after that, old Miss potty sludge decided to rear her ugly mug again. For so long, I never even entertained the thought of a happy ending for us, a happy ending for me, because I was prepared to die all along. Because I knew that if there was even a part of me that dreamt of a happy ending, it would prevent me from being able to fulfil my destiny." Percy answered with a distant look in his eyes.

"Oh, Percy." Annabeth sympathetically stated, before pulling him in for a brief yet comforting kiss.

"But the past four years have been wonderful, Wise Girl. And I have been proven wrong. I know that you make me happier than I could ever be. And this is enough for me. Nothing will ever compare to the bliss of this moment, of you in my arms as we just sit here peacefully, in our home." Percy passionately stated as his beautiful sea green eyes gazed deeply into Annabeth's stormy grey ones.

"This is it, Percy. You don't need to worry about being alone ever again. Whatever happens, we will face it together. I will always be with you. We will get the happy ending we deserve." Annabeth lovingly responded as she planted a soft kiss on his cheek.

"I love you, Wise Girl." Percy responded as he planted a kiss on her temple and hugged her closer to himself.

"I love you too, Seaweed Brain." Annabeth happily hummed back as she burrowed into his embrace. At that moment, all that mattered to them was that they had each other.

When Percy opened his eyes again, they were glazed over and were now a tormented and shrivelled dark green. His head was ringing from the memory, and his breath had become haggard as his deep exhales left plumes of chilling mist that flash froze everything it came in contact with.

All those smiles. All those promises. All those happy moments. It had meant the world to him. She had meant the world to him. And his heart exploded with pain at the realisation that he would never be able experience any of that again. He had lost her. Forever. The raw pain he felt would have broken everyone else. But it didn't break him.

With practiced control, he focused exclusively on all the gut-wrenching pain in his heart, it felt as if his heart would tear apart and as he had done for twenty years, he used that pain to feed his rage and hate. His eyes turned to an even darker shade of emerald as they became etched with silent fury and smoldered with hateful vengeance.

He had mastered how to use his pain to make himself stronger. He focused all his negative emotions within himself, feeling his mind explode with trauma, and used all the rage and hate he still harboured for the gods and whatever remained of their legacy.

He called upon the sea, forcing it respond to his hateful emotions and it responded back even more fiercely, amplifying and sending back ten times the rage and hate to him, along with flooding him with power. And Percy felt his body pulsating with power as he became acutely aware of every molecule of water in a hundred league radius.

This was good. This was very good. The pain, the suffering, the rage, the hate, it made him much, much stronger. He had reached this level of power only because of this darkness. The darkness was his greatest ally. It was his greatest weapon. A weapon he would now unleash to devastating effect.

"I will complete what I started. I will build the world that should have been ours. This is my promise to you. I will destroy the last remaining legacy of the gods." Percy venomously intoned as his eyes hardened into two slits of emerald green atomic fireballs, burning with hate and rage.

The temperature in the entire city of Utopia dropped by fifteen degrees, in response to his vengeful rage and everyone in the city felt a shiver run down their spines as they could feel the raw murderous intent radiating off of Percy in waves. They all knew what this would lead to. Utter and complete annihilation.

Hey guys! So in this chapter, I attempt to give some more background into how it all started, along with a flashback to remind everyone that Percy wasn't always like this. I'm trying to build towards a tragic fall trope, where the antagonist wasn't inherently bad but became what he is because of circumstances. So this is the type of narrative that I'll be shooting for in this story.

Read and review, I hope that all of you enjoyed this chapter! Have a wonderful day!
