Note: Harry Potter was created by J. K. Rowling and is a Warner Bros. film series.

Hermione Granger, who was in her twenties, hadn't heard from her dearest friend, Harry Potter, in a long time. It had been weeks since Hermione had seen Harry. She had tried calling Harry, but Harry wouldn't answer. This made Hermione feel awfully concerned. She was worried that something bad happened to Harry. She felt that it was her duty to pay Harry a visit, so she could find out what was going on.

One day, Hermione walked to Harry's house. She walked up to the door and knocked on it. Nobody answered. Hermione looked around and noticed that Harry's car was in the driveway. Hermione continued knocking on the door, while saying, "Harry, are you there?"

Suddenly, Hermione heard Harry ask, "Who's there?"

Hermione breathed a sigh of relief, because she was glad that Harry was home. She said, "Harry, it's Hermione."

Harry said, "This isn't a good time."

Hermione had an upset look on her face, while folding her arms and saying, "You have no idea how worried I've been about you. You haven't been answering any of my calls. I haven't seen you in such a long time. I need to see you."

In a shy tone of voice, Harry said, "I've been dealing with something. It's a personal problem."

Hermione wanted to do whatever she could to help Harry. She could tell that Harry was going through something serious, so she had no intention of leaving. She tried to sound as gentle as she could, while saying, "Harry, it's me. If there's anyone you can trust with your problems, it's me. I'm here for you. I'm not going to leave you behind. I need you to let me in. We need to talk."

After a few awkward moments of silence, Harry finally opened the door and let Hermione inside. Hermione looked around and noticed that most of the lights had been turn off. Also, Harry was wearing a hood. Harry walked up to the switch and started turning some of the lights on. Harry said, "I'm sorry if it seemed a little dark. Lately, I've found the darkness to be comforting."

Hermione replied, "It's fine, but what's up with the hood?"

Harry started looking nervous, while saying, "I don't want to talk about it."

Hermione started walking closer to Harry, while replying, "I need you to start talking."

Harry's lips started quivering, while saying, "I still don't really feel like talking about anything. Maybe we should reschedule."

Hermione shook her head and said, "We aren't rescheduling. Harry, I deeply care about you. You're my best friend."

Harry replied, "You're my best friend, too."

Hermione said, "Then why can't you tell me what's going on?"

Suddenly, Harry tripped over a wand and fell to the ground. Harry's hood also landed on the ground. Hermione crouched down, so she could help Harry get up. She looked at Harry's head and quickly realized that Harry looked a lot different. Harry's hair was longer and prettier than ever before. Hermione took a closer look at Harry, while saying, "You look different."

Harry nervously got up and said, "That's true. I'm afraid that the cat's out of the bag."

Hermione asked, "Does that mean that you can tell me what's going on?"

Harry still felt somewhat reluctant to share the truth. However, Harry trusted Hermione more than anybody else in the world, so Harry said, "Hermione, I have something very important to tell you. I've been scared to tell you or anybody else, because I'm afraid that it'll change how people look at me."

Hermione put her hand on Harry's shoulder, while saying, "Nothing could change how I feel about you."

Harry said, "In that case, I'll tell you what's going on."

Hermione replied, "I appreciate that."

After another moment of silence, Harry said, "Hermione, about a month ago, I decided to do something that I had been considering for a long time."

Hermione asked, "What is it?"

Harry said, "I decided to become a girl."

Hermione replied, "Really?"

Harry nodded and said, "I went to the doctor and had some surgery done. I changed my gender."

Hermione gave Harry a big hug, while saying, "I'm so proud of you."

Harry had a surprised look on her face. She had assumed that Hermione would be more open and understanding than her other friends. However, she thought that telling Hermione the truth would be a lot harder. Harry raised an eyebrow, while asking, "Are you really okay with this?"

Hermione smiled and replied, "Of course I am."

Harry kept her head down, while saying, "But I changed my gender. Isn't that weird? Doesn't that make you uncomfortable?"

Hermione said, "Not at all. Why would it?"

Harry said, "Well, some people aren't very excepting of other people changing their gender. In fact, some people think that it's impossible to change genders."

Hermione replied, "That's their problem."

Harry said, "I appreciate how accepting you are, but I'm afraid that a lot of people I know won't be nearly as kind as you are."

Hermione felt so bad about Harry feeling that she had to hide in fear. She couldn't stand to watch her closest friend in such a sad situation. She knew that she had to help Harry come out of her shell. She put her arm around Harry, while saying, "I know that things have been hard, but I believe that things are about to get better. I'm here to help you."

Harry replied, "That means the world to me, but are you really sure that things are going to get better?"

Hermione said, "I am. I'm going to help you get through this difficult time of your life. However, I'm going to need some help. Let's go see Ron."

Harry started backing away from Hermione, while saying, "No."

Hermione had a concerned look on her face, while asking, "What's wrong?"

Harry said, "I can't see Ron."

Hermione asked, "Why not?"

Harry shyly said, "Because I'm different. Ron's become so used to me being one of the guys. What if he doesn't like the new me?"

Hermione said, "I'll admit that Ron can be a bit judgmental, but in this scenario, I trust Ron to do the right thing."

Harry replied, "You might be right, but I still feel scared about going out."

Hermione put her hand on her chin, while trying to come up with a way to convince Harry to come with her. Eventually, an idea popped into her head. She looked back at Harry, while saying, "I'm really proud of you for coming out to me about becoming a woman. That's really brave of you. Since you revealed such a personal secret, I suppose it's only fair that I do the same."

Harry looked a bit surprised, while saying, "Do you really have a secret?"

Hermione said, "I do. In fact, it's a pretty big secret. I believe that telling you my secret will help convince you to feel more comfortable about your secret."

Harry replied, "In that case, I'm curious to know what this secret is."

Hermione smiled harder than ever before, while saying, "I love you."

Harry raised her eyebrows, while asking, "Is that your secret?"

Hermione answered, "Yes."

Harry said, "With all due respect, that isn't much of a secret. You're my best friend, so I already knew that you loved me."

Hermione replied, "I'm talking about a different kind of love."

Harry asked, "What are you talking about?"

Hermione gave Harry a kiss on the lips and said, "That's the kind of love that I'm talking about."

Harry started blushing, while saying, "That's quite the secret."

Hermione said, "We're the best of friends, so it's good for us to share such personal secrets."

Harry replied, "I suppose you're right about that."

Hermione said, "So, are you ready to go see Ron?"

Harry replied, "You know what? I suppose I should go see him. I have missed him."

Hermione said, "A lot of people have been missing you, especially me."

Harry smirked and replied, "It seemed like you missed my lips."

Hermione gasped and said, "You finally did it."

Harry asked, "What did I finally do?"

Hermione said, "You finally smiled. I hadn't seen that beautiful smile of yours in over a month. Your smile is always such a pleasant thing to see."

Harry smiled and replied, "Thank you, Hermione."

Hermione noticed that Harry was starting to put her hood back on, so she shook her head and said, "Put that down."

Harry shyly replied, "But it hides my hair."

Hermione said, "That's why you shouldn't wear it."

Harry nervously replied, "But I'm scared."

Hermione embraced Harry and said, "I'm here to protect you from all the dangers that anyone could ever create. You don't need to hide who you are. You're too beautiful to hide."

Harry asked, "Do you really think that I look beautiful?"

Hermione gave Harry another kiss on the lips and asked, "Did that answer your question?"

Harry chuckled and said, "I suppose it did." She put the hood away and said, "Let's get going."

Harry and Hermione walked out of Harry's house and started heading to Ron's house. Harry and Hermione decided to start holding hands. Harry had really missed Hermione, so she was glad to be reunited with her. Hermione had already started making her feel better.

Hermione looked at Harry, while saying, "Harry, I want you to know that I think you're better. Whether you're a boy or a girl doesn't matter to me. No matter what you decide to do, I'll always love you."

Harry replied, "That means a lot to me. I'm lucky to have such a great bestie."

Hermione blushed and said, "Your hand feels nice."

Harry replied, "As does yours."

As they got closer to Ron's house, Hermione said, "Harry, I know that you probably still have some concerns. However, I want you to know that everything's going to be okay. I know that things seem confusing and scary, but deep down, I have no doubt that things can and will get better."

Harry replied, "I admire your confidence. Lately, confidence is an attribute that I've been lacking. I sure wish that I could be as brave as you."

Hermione said, "Maybe you need a kiss for good luck." She gave Harry another kiss on the lips.

Harry said, "You sure seem to like kissing me."

Hermione replied, "You bet I do."

A few minutes later, Harry and Hermione finished walking to Ron's house. Harry was still feeling a little shy, so Hermione was the one who knocked on the door. Ron had been sleeping in, so Hermione had to knock for a long time.

Eventually, Ron opened the door. He yawned and said, "Hi, guys."

Hermione asked, "Can we come in for a few minutes? We have something important to share with you."

Ron replied, "Of course you can come in." Ron let Harry and Hermione inside.

Harry looked at Ron, while saying, "It's good to see you. I know that it's been a long time since we last saw each other. I also know that I've been making you and Hermione feel concerned about me. I'm sorry for putting you through that."

Ron replied, "It's okay, but what's been going on? Hermione and I kept trying to call you, but you never called back."

Harry pointed to her head, while saying, "You may notice that I look different."

Ron had been so relieved to see Harry that it took him a few minutes to realize how much Harry had changed. He took a closer look at Harry, while saying, "Now that you mention it, you do look rather different. What's going on?"

Harry said, "This isn't easy for me to say, but I've changed genders. Believe it or not, I've become a girl."

Ron had a surprised look on his face, while saying, "I wasn't expecting to hear that."

Hermione looked at Ron, while saying, "Harry's been hiding in her house, because she's afraid that people won't accept her for who she is."

Ron looked back at Harry, while asking, "Is that true?"

Harry nodded and said, "I'm afraid so."

Ron said, "Well, I can't speak for the rest of the world, but I can speak for myself. Harry, you've been one of my besties for years. You've been like a brother to me. However, if you want to be like a sister to me, I have no problem with that."

Harry started looking relieved, while saying, "Really?"

Ron smiled and said, "I wouldn't be a true friend if I didn't accept you for who you are."

Harry gave Ron a hug, while saying, "Thank you."

Ron hugged back, while replying, "You're welcome."

Hermione looked at Ron, while saying, "I'm proud of you for being so accepting."

Ron replied, "It's my pleasure. I just feel bad that Harry felt like she had to her true self from everyone. Luckily, she has friends who will always love her."

Harry said, "You're very thoughtful, Ron."

Ron looked proud of himself, while replying, "I suppose I am."

Hermione smiled at Harry, while saying, "I know that things might seem different, but you, Ron and I are always going to be the best of friends."

Ron replied, "That's for sure."

Harry said, "So, neither of you have a problem with me changing my gender?"

Ron answered, "Of course not."

Hermione said, "We're always hear for you, Harry."

After talking to Ron for a few more minutes, Harry and Hermione started walking out of Ron's house. Harry was glad that Hermione was right about Ron being okay with Harry becoming a transgender woman.

Hermione started walking Harry back to her house. As she and Harry continued their walk, they went past a playground that looked old and abandoned. Suddenly, some strange mist started appearing Hermione and Harry. They both were wondering what was going on.

Harry looked at the mist and noticed that there was a mysterious figure hiding in the playground, so she asked, "Who's there?"

Voldemort stepped out of the mist. He had a smug smile on his face, while saying, "Hello, old enemy."

Harry nervously asked, "How can you be here? I defeated you."

Voldemort chuckled and said, "That was a temporary victory on your part. I will always be around."

Hermione pulled out her wand and pointed it at Voldemort, while saying, "You better get out of here."

Voldemort replied, "I have no intention of ever doing anything that a muggle tells me to do."

Harry said, "Muggles are a lot smarter than you'll ever be."

Voldemort took a closer look at Harry, while asking, "What did you do to yourself? Are you pretending to be a woman?"

Hermione said, "Harry is a woman."

Voldemort said, "No he's not. He was born as a male. That means that he'll always be a guy."

Harry replied, "That's not a very progressive thing to say, Voldemort."

Voldemort chuckled and asked, "Do you think that I care about being progressive? I can assure you that I don't. Besides, being progressive is a waste of time. It leads to people stretching the truth. For example, you're stretching the truth by claiming to be something that you aren't."

Hermione angrily said, "How dare you accuse Harry of lying. She's as much of a girl as I am."

Voldemort pushed Harry to the ground and asked, "Do you know what a woman is? It's something that you'll never be."

Harry started blasting Voldemort with her wand, while saying, "Don't tell me what I am!"

Voldemort said, "You're the boy who lived."

Harry replied, "That's who I used to be."

Voldemort pulled out his wand, while saying, "I've heard enough from you. It's about time that I defeated you." Harry and Hermione both used their wands to attack Voldemort. Voldemort tried to fight back, but Harry and Hermione had become too powerful for him. Harry and Hermione's magic was so strong that Voldemort got blasted halfway across the city.

Harry looked back at Hermione, while saying, "I can't thank you enough, Hermione. Without you, I wouldn't have been able to be true to myself."

Hermione replied, "It's my pleasure, Harry. I just hope that you've become comfortable with your new life."

Harry said, "I have. I'm a girl." He paused and said, "Because of my age, I guess I'm actually a woman. Either way, I identify as female."

Hermione replied, "That's a very brave thing to say. I couldn't be prouder of you."

Harry gave Hermione a kiss on the lips and said, "I owed you a kiss for all the sweet kisses that you gave me."

Hermione smirked and replied, "I gave you three kisses, so you owe me two more."

Harry said, "In that case, I look forward to giving you more kisses in the near future." Harry smiled harder than she had in months. She no longer cared what Voldemort or anyone else thought about her, because she was proud to be a girl.
