Talking aloud to self
The following morning begins in the kitchen of Jammy's house. Carla and Jammy are sitting at the kitchen table awaiting breakfast as Judy cooks it.
Judy: There you are, ladies. (She passes two hard-boiled eggs towards the two girls.)
Carla freaks out upon seeing the eggs, still slightly traumatized from the adventure the previous night.
Carla: Freeze! (Carla calls out agitated while she pulls out her inhaler.)
Jammy looks to her friend with both worry and understanding.
Jammy: It's OK, Carla. It's just breakfast. (Jammy says softly as she gently grabs Carla's wrist to calm her down.)
Carla lets out a sigh of relief.
Carla: I knew that.
She lowers her arms, putting her inhaler back in her pocket. Judy walks towards the kitchen counter. A can of Jammy's burping-soda is seen on the corner of the counter. Judy reaches for the can, picking it up. She examines it intently.
Judy: I don't remember buying this brand of soda. (Judy says while holding up the peculiar can.)
Looking to see what her mom is talking about; Jammy shifts her focus. Her eyes bulge out in realization that her mom grabbed her burping formula soda. She tries to get her mom's attention before it's too late.
Jammy: No, no, Mama... Mama, you...
Judy gives Jammy a look as if she were crazy to think something was wrong with the soda.
Judy: Jammy, it's just soda. (She gently responds as she cracks the lid and goes to take a sip.)
Jammy: Mama, no! (Jammy warns while waving both hands in a last attempt to stop her mom.)
Judy sips the soda, a smile on her face as she quenched her thirst. A loud belch escapes her lips.
Judy: Goodness! Excuse me.
She burps again. Knowing something is off with the drink Judy attempts to stop the noise by covering her mouth with her empty hand. At the same time Hugh is seen walking into the room from outside. sweat glistening on his face.
Hugh: Boy, it's a scorcher out there. (Hugh states, waving a hand to his face fanning himself off. Seeing the drink in Judy's hand he grabs the can of soda.) Thanks, honey.
Judy: Hugh! (Judy tries to warn but burps a little louder.)
Hugh takes a drink from the can.
Hugh: *belch* (Hugh looks at the can suspiciously. Catching a familiar looking logo, Hugh smirks to himself and starts to joke around.) Well, at least it's coming out of the attic, not the basement. (He laughs a little causing him to burp again.)
Judy: Hugh! *belch*
Jammy: Mama! (Jammy snickers at her mom before laughing.)
Both Hugh and Judy go back and forth between burping. Jammy and Carla start laugh at the situation holding their stomachs in pain from laughing so hard. Hugh then starts gesturing while burping. Picking the can back up Judy scans it over. She sees the neutron symbol on the can, realization comes over her. She calls out slightly scolding.
Judy: Jamie Isabella Neutron... *huge belch*
The room goes silent, everyone looking at each other. All of a sudden Judy starts laughing at herself. Everyone else joins in cracking up from what had happened. Jammy thinks to herself as the soda wears off from her parents.
Jammy: I'm so glad everything is back to normal. I can't wait to see what the future has in store.
The camera pans out away from the kitchen. It goes away from Jammy's house, when a bird flies overhead. Goddard flies after the bird barking with the sounds of laughter coming from the house fading out.
The End
Thank you for all the reads on the story! It's been a bit of a journey from the first chapter to the last. Shout out to Fahemalillianaltaee on Wattpad for the idea of Jammy knowing martial arts. I will eventually do the TV series but that's after the list of stories I currently have. I plan to start a new book sometime in October. Here's a little sneak peak of what's to come:
"Don't scare me like that again! I thought I lost you."
"Madame if you would stay back. No, don't come any closer. Please don't Madame."
"Maybe we should teach her to wear a shirt?"
"Goodbye."
"Go ahead, shoot me."
Until next time!
