Chapter 1: Meeting an Old Familiar Face
A/N: This is an AU of one-shots, mostly for Timmy and Trixie in high school, so it's basically Timxie shipping. If you want to imagine Timmy as a teenager then I recommend using his design in the episode of A Perfect Nightmare but make him taller and his voice more deeper. Anyway, that is all. Hope you enjoy! If you want to have any requests then comment!
Also, Timmy's fairies don't live with him anymore, they had been taken away from him at the age of 12 or 13. I might explain why his fairies are gone in one of the one-shots.
Note: I don't own Fairly Oddparents
'This is a nightmare…' She groaned mentally as she waited in line for the new roller coaster ride. Somehow, Remy knew she liked going to carnivals (courtesy of Veronica) and decided, no, insisted on coming with her, making it a date. (His words, not hers.) This was going to be her last day of fun before summer ended but karma seemed to be messing with her today.
And right now, he was fighting with one of the operators on getting first in line.
Of course, the operator refused, believing in the phrase 'first comes first serves' and even denied the bribe Remy offered him, which resulted in the blond throwing a fit.
The crowd was starting to get annoyed by the blond making a fuss, making the opening a bit delayed as it was supposed to open exactly fifteen minutes ago.
She could hear his voice over a few rows behind. Faintly hearing the words spewing from his mouth. "I could get you sued for this… do you know who I am?... I can ruin your life…"
She walked slowly, following the crowd as it finally started to move after the operator blatantly ignored the raging blond. Letting those in the front in the seats.
The only way she could describe this situation right now is annoying. Yes, she was humiliated about being his date but she was mostly annoyed that he ruined her day. She didn't even agree to the fucking thing!
Trixie swore she'd never date someone until she was out of high school, rather having her focus on her studies first before her love life.
But there are a few exceptions…
It was quite shocking for all to hear that honestly. Who knew, one of the former spoiled, pompous brats of Dimmsdale grew up into a mature and well-mannered person. Yeah, it was a shock to her as well.
When she started to mature and grow up, popularity didn't seem to be necessary to her anymore. But for the others?
Tad and Chad cut ties with her.
Veronica on the other hand…
Let's just say she became the new diva of Dimmsdale.
She stopped in the front when there were two seats left on the cart. She was about to step in but a hand stopped her from taking a seat.
Annoyed, she looked at the owner of the hand. He was still red in the face as he was breathing heavily, glaring at the operator who crossed his arms and raised a brow in return.
"Well, if I can't cut in line can I at least take a ride next to my date?"
The blond may not see it but she was glaring daggers at the side of his head. Both didn't notice the operator grabbing his radio to contact someone.
"I'm not your date Buxaplenty. I'm just a person trying to enjoy myself before you swept in and ruined it for me."
She heatedly argued, trying to put space between them as he tried to get near her.
"Oh come on. I denied every girl who tried to ask me out so that I could give you a chance. Who doesn't want me? I'm rich, athletic, and incredibly handsome. What more could a girl want?"
"How about a guy who's smart enough to back off whenever she says no?"
A deep voice joined in, interrupting their growing argument. When she turned she saw a guy who is probably 17一the same age as her. Brown hair peeked out from his cap and blue eyes stared at her. He was tall and fit, not overly fit but fit enough to see that the guy works out. A sharp like jaw complimented his face as he looked at her.
She didn't know why her gaze made her shiver but she didn't mind it. At all.
"Is there a problem here?"
"Finally, someone who can settle this once and for all. Yes, your employee here had the audacity to一"
"I wasn't talking to you." The guy interrupted him, still looking at Trixie.
She swallowed as her voice got caught in her throat as he continued to stare at her. It was not in a perverted way, seeing as he was looking at her face but anything else. Clearing her throat, "Y-yes, actually. This guy has been bothering me the moment he saw me and bugged me all the way here." She stuttered the moment the first word came out of her mouth.
She cursed herself, thankful that the guy hadn't seen her blush as his attention was now on the blond who was sputtering to save his wounded pride at being called out.
"Don't waste your breath," He held up a hand. "I've been watching you giving people an unpleasant time and bribing one of our employees is forbidden in Dimmsdale Daze Carnival. I'm going to ask you to leave. Now."
"Excuse me? I can buy this entire place with just a snap of my fingers. If I were you I would keep my mouth shut." He reared back, clearly insulted at being talked back.
"If you want to ride this coaster so badly, why not take the whole cart?"
He grabbed Remy and forced him onto the seats, pulling down the restraints to have him secured. Giving a thumbs up to the operator earlier the latter smiled and pressed the button making the ride start.
They can hear his distant screaming as it slowly ascends to the top. When they dropped, they could hear a high pitch screaming as it descended, scaring all who rode in it.
Both of them laughed as they heard the girlish scream. Trixie barely heard the guy mumble but she caught it. "Always wanted to do that."
She was about to question him on what he meant but the guy on the panel called out to him.
"Hey, Timmy! Your shift's over!"
"Thanks for the heads-up! Think you and Al can manage?"
As a response, the guy gave him a salute.
Meanwhile, Trixie stood frozen as she heard the guy's name. She hadn't heard that name in a long time. Her eyes moved to his nametag and sure enough, the tag had the name 'Timmy T.'
"Timmy…?" She whispered his name and she saw him freeze. For a moment the two neither moved nor said anything until someone from behind them cleared their throat, snapping them out of their shock.
Before he could step away from her she grabbed his arm and hauled them between two booths.
"Uh… hi?" SLAP!
"OW! What the–?!" He held his cheek where he got slapped, a stunning pain he felt as he looked at her incredulously.
He tried to argue but seeing the glare she was giving him he decided to back off.
"Well?"
"Well, what?"
"You—ugh!" She raised her arms in exasperation, her head tilting up to the sky.
Trixie grabbed his shoulders and pulled him down to her height. Looking him in the eye, she stated. "Just—tell me how you're here. I mean," She let his shoulders go and began pacing around much to his confusion and amusement. "You've been gone since C.P.S has taken you and then they all told us you transferred to god knows where and after 5 years…"
She stood in front of him. Timmy felt a little uncomfortable as she stood very near him, their chest almost touching as she faintly caressed his jaw. "You're here."
"Look…" He sighed as he grabbed her hand. He tried to let go but she wouldn't let him. "I don't know why you're suddenly interested in my life but I think we should—"
"Don't you dare finish that sentence, Turner."
"Then why should I tell you what happened? Didn't you care about status and reputation? You shoot someone out in the air whenever they're not worthy of you. Heck, you even yelled for your bodyguard to throw the person in the garbage whenever they barely said a word towards you."
Hearing those words made her flinch but he saw it. Timmy's brow furrowed and he decided to question it. Risking his entire generation on the line might be the stupidest thing he's ever done but she might spare him. Probably.
"Uh… why did you…?"
"Because you're right. I've—I've been a jerk to you back in 5th grade and I hate myself for that. Putting status instead of myself first made me miserable and lonely. The friends that I had… they're not friends, they never were, not since the very first meeting. I…. I did a lot of thinking after you left. I realized that I need to change, not for them but for myself. And I don't regret the choice that I made."
Tears started to gather in her eyes and she tried her hardest to hold them down. "There… there were some sacrifices that needed to be done but it was all worth it if it makes me happy."
"Some sacrifices…? Oh shit, Trixie don't tell me your—"
"What? Oh, no, no, no! I didn't mean it like that! I meant—well I mean it's technically true but—"
"Trixie." He grabbed her shoulders to stop her from shaking. "Calm down. Now,"
"Did your parents…?"
"My dad was grateful for it, actually. He was happy that I decided to change. My mom? Not so much. She ignores me to the point of walking out mid-conversation whenever I get near her."
"Welcome to my world. Uh, I mean—"
He couldn't help but use sarcasm until he realized that might not be the best move. Trixie giggled at his attempt to cheer her up.
"Hey, no." She placed her hand on his arm. "Yours is way more difficult. Uh—no offense." He shrugged a shoulder at that.
"Got used to it. At least I didn't have to deal with the abuse anymore."
"Huh. Guess we're not so different after all. Somewhat."
"I'll take that any day." He scratched his neck subconsciously. "Since Buxaplenty ruined your day, how about I make it up to you?"
She grinned and crossed her arms over her chest, her posture becoming sassy-like. "Why, Timmy, are you asking me out on a date?"
"Do you want it to be a date?"
He retorted back. Placing his arms in his pocket trousers.
She rubbed her chin, her eyes set towards the sky as she mulled it over before giving him a small grin and shrugged her shoulders. "Why not? It's been a while since I've had a proper date."
Timmy blinked twice before he looked at her. Trixie had to hold in a laugh as he adequately mimicked a gaping fish.
Rolling her eyes, she grabbed his arm and dragged him around the carnival. The two had an enjoyable day as they rode on different rides and played a lot of carnival games. They even ended up in a competition of who could shoot the most balls in the ring.
It resulted in Timmy winning as he knows all the tricks of rigged booths. Trixie poured for a while but it disappeared when they approached the food stands.
Walking around, food in hand, the two were laughing about old memories. Particularly an old crazy teacher of theirs.
"I still can't believe Crocker taught us. I mean, what lunatic would hire him as a teacher?" Timmy laughed as he grabbed a piece of cotton candy and shoved it in his mouth.
Trixie laughed along with him. "People who are stupid enough to hire him. Were they that desperate?"
"Maybe they are. Let's not forget he managed to get a large sum of money to create these weird as fuck machines. Who could even afford to make that?"
"Definitely. Let's not forget about him making assumptions about you having fairies."
She emphasized the fairies' part. Timmy scoffed.
"Don't remind me. That was one of the worst days of my childhood. By the way, is he still teaching at Dimmsdale elementary?"
"Oh, yeah. Not only that, but his obsession with fairies had gotten so bad that people regularly called the police to tackle him for lurking around kids. They even placed him in an institution for a year but he still got out going crazy. Rumors say he made his psychiatrist believe in fairies too."
"Sheesh. Hope I never bump into him."
"You don't have to worry about that. He's been banned in at least twenty-nine places in Dimmsdale so I think you're fine. Thank God he only teaches kids. Hey, I gotta ask,"
They stopped near a booth where you throw a ball to a stack of milk bottles. Their food already gone.
"Where do you live now?"
"Well, after my parents lost custody of me my uncle took me in. I know, shocking. I didn't even know I had an uncle until after the trials. My grandparents agreed to me living with him and that technically made him my stepfather. He lives in France and has a company there so I had to move out of State. And it was the best years of my life from that point on."
"No wonder you have an accent." She teased him about his little accent and she could see a faint blush forming on his cheeks.
"But how so?" She was curious about his life. Although she was upset about him leaving she was happy that he had some joy gained from the former life he didn't have.
"Well, my uncle treated me like his own son. Way better than what Terrance did," He spat out his former dad's name with a hint of bitterness to it but she took notice.
"We did a lot of stuff both of us missed out on and it was nice. Both of us found love and care towards each other. The bond we have is special and I don't want to break that."
she smiled at how he cared for his uncle/father figure. She was glad he found someone who would actually love and care for him.
"Do you still have contact with your friends?"
Timmy looked down in silence. Trixie scolded herself for asking him that. But before she could open her mouth he cut her off.
"We… had a falling out. They were glad I got out of my parent's house but they were mad that I was moving away. We talked about it for days. Even to the point of arguing and almost ripping each other's throats off. But there was a day that ruined our friendship for the long term. It's… I don't want to get into too much detail, but they revealed some things that hurt me so badly I almost ended up grabbing a knife and stabbing one of them with it."
"Oh, shit…"
"I know. I just want to forget about the past. Um… how are they, exactly?"
"Well…" What does she say? "They charged completely after you left. They became one with the popular crowd and started hanging out with Tad, Chad, and Veronica. They call themselves the 'Big Five.'"
Timmy snorted. "That is a ridiculous name."
"And get this, Chester and Veronica are dating."
"... You're serious? Chester, the girl hating, basically gets hives for touching one is dating Veronica? Out of all people?"
"E-yup."
"... I think I'm in the wrong dimension."
"Nope. You're living in a crazy one. Those three lunkheads are on the football team and AJ is on the prefects, I think? Either way, I don't know nor care as I am officially out of Dimmsdale high once summer is over."
"You transferred?"
"Yeah. Big relief, actually. Dimmsdale high was a nightmare from the very start with those wanna-be assholes lurking around, making your life hell. Are you… are you going back to France once summer is over?"
"No. I'm staying here after graduation."
"... What?" She blinked and turned to look at him. He was switching on standing from one foot to another.
"My uncle's planning to build a new building for his company near California. The investors he's meeting with are all from here so it's gonna take a while to complete those deals. Plus, I still get to keep my scholarship from my previous school to the current one, so I have no worries about that."
"Investors… Wait, is your uncle by any chance named Travis Mancini?"
"Yeah. Why?"
"My dad's one of those investors."
"..."
"..."
Both stood quiet as they mulled over the discovery. information. Trixie breathed out slowly, her gaze looking into his own who was also having the same thoughts as her.
"And what school did you transfer to?"
"... Ravenhill Academy."
"That's where I transferred."
"... This is kinda creepy and cool at the same time."
"I know, right?" Both looked at each other for a few minutes before they burst out laughing. Wiping an imaginary tear from his eye, he shook his head at the absurdity of it all. "I'm kinda glad we get to see each other… in a new light, of course."
"Yeah, at least it'll be a new us."
"You think you can win the big stuffed panda? Many people have tried and none seemed to break them all down."
Their attention was soon focused on the man talking to a young teen couple. The guy boasted that he'll win the stuffed bear for his girlfriend while the carny merely shrugged but smirked whenever the guy only knocked a few cans off. On the sixth try, the results are still the same.
The guy was in disbelief while his girlfriend rolled her eyes at his antiques. Patting his shoulder, the carny gave him a consolation prize. "Sorry bud, looks like it's a bust. Your aim might need some work, though. Hope you two have a lovely day!"
As the couple left, Trixie looked at Timmy. "You wanna beat that guy?"
"You do know that's their job right? Scamming people in their games?"
"I know, but I want to see his face if you knock those milk bottles down. You do know how to, right?"
She batted her eyelashes at him and he stared at her, his face unreadable. After a few coaxing, he sighed in defeat. "Yes, I know how."
"Yes!" She raised her arms in joy, grabbing his arms and dragging him to the stand. The carny raised his brow at them before he gave them a charming smile.
"Well, don't you two make a lovely couple."
"Oh, we're not—"
"She's not my—"
Both exclaimed at the same time. Realizing their mistake they blushed in a pretty shade of red. The carney's grin only grew as he realized what was happening between the two.
"Come on, then. Show me what you got."
He gave the ball to Timmy, who in return looked at the three stacks of bottles. Deeply inhaling, he wind back his arm and threw it so hard that all of the bottles collapsed in one go.
The carny had his jaw dropping open and Trixie had to hide her laugh behind her hand. Timmy dug into his wallet and tried giving him the money.
"No way, son! You won this thing with a first swing so it's on the house! Here's the panda for the girl."
Before Timmy could go the carny placed a gentle hand on his shoulder. "Girls who look at you like that are uncommon nowadays. Hold on to her, son. She's something special."
He didn't know what he meant until he subtly turned to look back at the blue-eyed girl. She was staring at him with fondness, but there was something more hidden under those orbs. He could only nod and thanked him as he walked towards her. Stuffed panda in hand.
Handing it to her she delicately held the panda close to her as they walked out of the carnival. Blush was tinted in their cheeks as they tried to avoid each other's gaze but to no avail.
"Um, thanks for the date. I had a great time." Trixie started off. Hugging the panda tightly.
"Don't worry about it. I had a great time too."
"... We should do this again."
"Pardon?"
"Hanging out. I mean, if you want to then—"
"Yeah. Yeah, I'd love to hang out with you again. How about Friday noon? Lunch is on me." He questioned. He hoped his voice wasn't too hopeful.
"I'll only attend if you split the check." She answered, giving him a dimpled smile. He smiled back.
"Deal."
He put out his arm for a shake, but she surprised him by pulling him to her and giving him a quick peck on the cheek.
A sleek black car paused right in front of them and Trixie gave a sigh of disappointment.
"My rides here. See you then?"
"... Y-yeah, see you."
She giggled at his reaction before she entered the car and drove off. As Timmy regained his senses, he slowly walked toward the parking lot. Looking down at his hand, there was a napkin with a number as well as a kiss stain written on it.
He smiled goofily at it as he read her small message.
'Call me, doofus.'
