It was Halloween night. There was a spooky feel in the air. Many kids, as well as some teenagers and adults, were already starting to trick-or-treat. True to the Mon 4's word, they gathered at Sun Stone Square at 6:00.

Magikarp was dressed as a pirate. "Okay, everyone ready?"

"I was born ready!" Plusle grinned. She was dressed as a princess.

Mewtwo looked at Minun. "Oh, what are you supposed to be? A zombie?"

"No, I'm Noctowlbert Einstein, one of the greatest geniuses on this planet," Minun explained.

"Not surprising comin' from you, eh, Minerd?" snickered Machoke.

Minun rolled his eyes. "Whatever, let's just get moving."

And so began their quest for candy. They started in a neighborhood full of rich folks, who would hand out large, high-quality sweets. Mewtwo lifted his hand up to knock on one fancy-looking house's door, but he hesitated, as he was not sure how the owner of the house would respond to him. He looked at the Mon 4 nervously, so Magikarp knocked on it for him. A Serperior answered, looking very annoyed.

"Trick or treat!" they all exclaimed.

"The sooner you get your candy, the sooner you'll leave me be," Serperior grumbled. She brought out a bagful of treats. It took her a moment to notice Mewtwo, and she was quite startled.

"Gah! Take it all!" she yelped and threw the bag at them before slamming the door shut. Mewtwo's expression dimmed.

Plusle was initially unaware of this and picked up the bag. "Cool, extra sweets!"

Minun elbowed her in exasperation. She was confused until she noticed Mewtwo's hurt look. Feeling bad for him, she offered him a chocolate bar, but he shook his head and kept walking.

Indeed, Mewtwo got the same reception from every candy distributor they met. While he was looking forward to eating the candy later, he was getting tired of this. "Can we go home now? I think I've seen enough."

"Check it out!" Machoke pointed to a spooky-looking house. "How about we make one last stop there?"

"Alright then," Mewtwo shrugged.

They approached the front door. Magikarp knocked on the door. "Anyone home?"

There was no answer, but the door came off its hinges and landed right on Minun, who simply uttered a deadpan "Ow."

Machoke lifted the door off him. Magikarp peeked inside. "I don't think anyone's home."

There were dusty Pikachu-themed objects everywhere, and it was clear that there hadn't been much care given to them. "Seems pretty abandoned to me," Machoke scoffed. "Are y'all too scared to go in there?"

"Heck no," Mewtwo puffed his chest out.

They began to wander down a hallway. There were Pikachu posters on the walls.

"Someone's a big fan," Minun commented.

Just then, there was a creepy-sounding whisper, followed by a growl. Magikarp yelped and jumped into Machoke's arms. "What was that?!"

On the other hand, Machoke just smirked. "Now I really wanna stick around." He put Magikarp down and ran down the hallway. The others followed him to make sure he wouldn't get into any danger. As they got closer to the end of the hallway, the whispering and growling increased in volume. They found a door.

"Well, does anyone else wanna do the honors?" Machoke chuckled. "I dare ya."

The others looked at each other. They were rather worried about what was on the other side. Mewtwo took a deep breath and opened the door. On the other side was a boy wearing a crudely made Pikachu suit. He was playing with two ratty Pikachu dolls.

"Trick or treat!" he exclaimed cheerfully. He took imaginary candies and put them in an imaginary bag and then sighed.

"Oh, it's just a kid like us," Magikarp pointed out. He wasn't feeling nearly as nervous now.

The boy turned around. "Um, hi. I'm Mimikyu." He then picked up his dolls and spoke through them. "'I'm Mika.' 'And I'm Churchill.'"

"Nice ventriloquism," Minun mused.

"I've had practice, lots of it,"

"What are you doing all alone here all by yourself?" wondered Plusle. "Shouldn't you be trick-or-treating?"

Mimikyu sniffled and turned away.

"What's the matter?" Magikarp asked, concerned.

"Can I just get something off my chest? I really want to go trick-or-treating, but…everyone's scared of my species."

Minun was quiet. At school, he had read about Mimikyu's species and their tendency to curse those who saw their true forms beneath their cloths.

Mimikyu "They think all Mimikyu are gonna curse them out of nowhere. They run from me without even giving me a chance, and I've got no one else but these two." He clung to Churchill and Mika.

His stomach growled. The others then realized this must be the growl that they had been hearing. They all felt bad for him, but Mewtwo was especially affected to hear this. He noticed that Mimikyu was rather lean, and it all made tragic sense to him.

"Y'know, I think I can relate," he admitted. He looked in his bag and took out several pieces of candy before handing them to Mimikyu.

Mimikyu looked touched. "You'd do that?"

"I think you need them more than I do," Mewtwo answered.

The Mon 4 all pitched in and started sharing their sweets with Mimikyu. Soon, Mimikyu felt like he'd had enough, and patted his gut in satisfaction.

"You know, we're not scared of you," said Plusle. "You're pretty nice."

"We can hang out more often if you want," suggested Machoke.

"Oh, I'd love that," Mimikyu cooed.

"We can hang out after school sometimes," Magikarp said.

"I'll bring you meals," Mewtwo offered. "You really need them."

Mimikyu looked touched. "Thank you for all that."

Magikarp got up and looked at his wristwatch. "Oh, geez, we gotta get home soon, it's a school night."

"Why can't it be a school holiday?" Machoke griped.

That didn't dampen Plusle's spirits, though, as she'd had a good night. "Well, see you later!"

The others went home. As he made his way back, Mewtwo had a warm, fuzzy feeling inside. He had truly come to enjoy this Halloween after all, especially since he had another new friend.
