Author's Name: GoldenFlame

Disclaimer: Do I own Harry Potter and anything related to it? Nope! The quotes are all from OotP by the talented (and big meanie I might add) JKR.

Summary: [major OotP spoilage] Harry reflects on the newest death in Book 5.

Author's Note: I was mad when I found out that one of my favourite characters died but then I started think about what Harry would go through without Sirius. I usually don't write a lot, I'm more of a reader and a lurker when it comes to fanfiction. So please tell me what you think because this is one of my small attempts. Criticism, advice and anything else are all welcome.

He sat silently on the park swing, arms lifelessly hanging at his sides. Why was it always him? Couldn't someone else be the one that had to go through all the pain that he had gone through? Fate sure could be nasty at times. Sitting in the swing he thought back to the events that occurred what seemed like seconds ago. They were still fresh in his mind. The last thing he said, the last look on his face, and the last time he would ever see him again.

'Come on you can do better than that!'

'The laughter had not quite died from his face, but his eyes
were widened in shock.'

'The look of mingled fear and surprise on his godfather's
wasted, once-handsome face as he fell through the ancient
doorway and disappeared behind the veil, which fluttered for a
moment as though in a high wind, the fell back into place.'

Images of the horrid event repeated over and over in his head. They would never stop; they would always be there. They had haunted his thoughts and dreams all summer. He hadn't slept much out of fear that nightmares would plague his dreams.

Deep down he was hoping he would come back. He needed him there. Sirius had always been there before so he should be there now. Why did he have to be gone when he needed Sirius more than ever? He didn't believe that he would ever be as alone as he felt at that very moment. He wanted him back.

He fell to the ground and put his head in his hands. So much was on his shoulders now and he wouldn't even be there to comfort and help him. He wouldn't be there to talk to about problems. He would never be there again. Cedric's death had been the first and Sirius' the second and there would be more.

How long would it be before all the people he needed in his life were gone? Then he would be even more alone. It scared him. What would he do if Ron, Hermione, or someone else close to him died at Voldemort's hands? He hoped he wouldn't find out, but he knew that the odds were against him.

Harry Potter sat silently on the ground. Trembling as silent sobs escaped from his lips. Wishing that he could be with Sirius once again but he knew that wouldn't be possible for a very long time.
