Forbidden Love
A Short Prelude
By Kaiomi
Prince Ohjiro quickly glanced through the rows of girls who drooled as he passed by. He was twenty-one past the legal age of marrying. Of course in order to become king since he was the last heir, he needed to wed. But that wasn't really listed on one of this top ten tasks to do, like for instance, defending the Layer, the kingdom he inherited five years ago. It seemed to be though according to his advisor Mihara who preferred to be called Icchan and his assistant Ogata.
They meant well, but having dozens of idiot, giggling girls stare at him wasn't his favorite thing to go through. Mainly because he had to dress up. He could stand the princesses sent from other kingdoms and beyond, a tolerance he was very grateful to have built after the first two meetings with royal girls.
He was now wearing a long sleeved tunic embroidered with gold swirls at the front, a white cape hemmed with the color of his long midnight blue hair, silver pants and black leather boots. *ah yes, all you Ohjiro fans can drool now*
All he had to do was smile and nod towards each girl with fake sincerity. Interestingly enough that was all it took to make them faint to his amusement.
~Just get this over with and you have the rest of the afternoon off~ he thought to himself trying to hold this smile why by now made a few muscles in his mouth cramp.
"Prince have you seen any that you liked?" Icchan ran up to him carrying a clipboard anxious to put a heart next to one of the thirty or so names. Looking at Ohjiro's bored expression as they left the main ballroom told him everything. "So eh? What's your type? It would make it a lot easier for me to choose."
"No girly princess can ever be my type. They're all spoiled and whiny if you as me." Ohjiro pushed his bangs out of his eyes as they continued to walk through the main hallway.
"So you want to marry someone like Sai?" His eyebrows rose teasingly.
"And be frozen by her piercing death glare?" He countered, hearing Icchan's laughter made him simile a bit too. Sai was the Layer's royal horse trainer. The occupation fitted her well for her disposition. Anti- social Sai he often called her behind her back. She was strong for a girl but surprisingly had a warm heart toward animals. So he couldn't insult her up front much.
"How about kind Kaede?"
"She's too nice."
"I give up then! Find your own girl to marry!" His advisor threw up his hands and walked away.
"I might just do that," he whispered and sneaked out of the palace gates while remembering a girl he met yesterday with short red hair and beautiful blue eyes.
Before you all get confused, let me list a couple of warped things if you haven't gotten them yet.
The Layer isn't a battle arena, it's a kingdom. Ohjiro is a prince and Icchan isn't his older brother anymore. My mind is easily confused if you didn't realize that yet. So if you have questions, comments, suggestions, whatever relating to this chapter, email them to me at stargazeroftwilight@hotmail.com It's listed on my bio too. It will cause less confusion for me and I'll be able to reply to them within 2-3 days because I can't reply in reviews. Well that's about it! Send reviews!
