Kagome was screaming her lungs out! She was terrified. This huge bird demon was coming toward her. Suddenly out of nowhere came Inuyasha, yelling her name and swinging the Tetsiaga. The bird screamed as it fell to it's death.
"Inuyasha," she said breathlessly. "Thank you."
"No problem. Are you okay? Are you hurt?" he asked urgently.
"Yes I'm fine. What about you?"
"Yeah" Inuyasha answered as he held her in his arms. They both fell to the ground and stayed like that for what seemed like hours, but in truth only minutes. Inuyasha pulled Kagome up and stood up.
"We have to get going." Miroku was watching from the shadows along with Sango, Shippo and Kylala. They were in awe by the sight they were seeing. It was confusing. Very confusing. They thought he loved Kikyo. Inuyasha had never shown that much affection for Kagome.
When they stood up they saw Kagome limping.
"Kagome what's wrong with you. You're limping." said Miroku, worried.
"I'm fine. Quit worrying about me." Kagome replied.
They kept walking. Inuyasha was leading. Kagome was in the back because she was limping.
When they stopped for the night, Kagome's ankle had swollen to three times its normal size.
The next morning when they started off, they were stopped by Sango who insisted that Kagome stay off her ankle. Kagome said that they needed to keep going.
Suddenly Sesshomaru showed up on his two headed dragon.
"What do you want now?! We're in the middle of a little crisis already! We don't need another headache!" Inuyasha yelled.
"What crisis? I don't see any headaches but you!"
Suddenly he was gone again.
Inuyasha picked up Kagome and told her that she needed to stay off her ankle but they needed to get going so he was going to carry her.
Kagome thought he had gone insane!
"Inuyasha if you don't put me down right now, I swear I'll make you drop me!"
"If you make me drop you then we both get hurt!" he persisted. Kagome knew that there was just no arguing with Inuyasha so she gave in and let him carry her.
