Disclaimer: I don't own any of the characters or the story "The night
before Christmas". I did use some lines from the book, though.
'Twas the night before Christmas,
an all through the house made of log,
not a creature was stirring,
not even Claude!
The stocking were hung by the chimney with care,
in hopes that Ashton would soon be there!
Leon and Precis were all snug in their beds,
while visions of machines and sorcery danced in their heads.
Rena in her nightgown and Dias in his cap,
had just settled their heads for a long winter nap.
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
Dias sprang form the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window he flew like a crane,
he couldn't open it so he punched out the pane! (As in glass not ouchy hurt)
the moon on the breast of the new fallen snow, gave the luster of midday to the objects below,
Dias looked around and saw something funny,
it was someone in a sleigh pulled by some bunnies!
the driver of the sleigh was so keen and so cunn,
Dias knew right away it must be Ashton!
More rapid than eagles
his bunnies did run,
he called out their names starting with the first one.
"Now, Fluffy! Now Fuzzy!
Now Bouncy! And Hoppy!
On Chibi! On Mr. Cuddles!
On Barney and floppy!
To the top of the house or we'll bust through the wall!
Now bounce away! Bounce away! Bounce away all!"
As dry as leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
when they meet with an obstacle,
they mount to the sky!
So up to the house top
the bunnies they flew,
with a sleigh full of toys,
and Ashton too!
And then in a twinkling,
Dias heard where the chimney does shine,
the bunnies were bouncing all in a line!
As Dias was wondering what's going on,
with his mind in a flood,
Ashton fell down the chimney with a mighty big thud!
He was dressed all in fur,
from the head to his foot,
and his cloths were all dirtied
with ashes and soot.
A big old bag he had flung on his back,
he looked like Santa but his hair was black.
Dias and Rena ran down the hall,
Dias tripped over a skate,
and had a great fall!
Down the steps Dias did fall,
cursing Leon all and all.
Ashton wasn't chubby or plump,
but he was a jolly old elf,
and Rena laughed like mad when she saw him,
in spite of her self!
With a wink of Ashton's eye,
and twist of his head,
Dias knew there was something to dread.
He spoke not a word,
but went straight to his work,
and emptied the stockings into his bag,
then he turned with a jerk!
Dias had him at sword point,
Ashton spoke in a voice so scared,
"just kidding you doink!
I'll put them back now!"
Ashton with stealth and being quite slick,
put back the presents and put them back quick!
He laid his finger alongside his nose,
and giving a nod,
up the chimney he rose.
He jumped in his sleigh,
and to his bunnies gave a yell,
and away they all flew,
like a bat out of hell!
Dias and Rena heard,
as Ashton took flight,
"Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!"
