Author's Note: A little James/Lily ficlet, written probably faster than it should have been. If you would leave your e-mail in you review (and please review!), it'd make it easier to respond to your questions/advice/whatever. ^_^ Thanks for reading!

"James," Lily murmured, nudging the bare shoulder of the man sleeping beside her insistently. "James, wake up." He stirred and mumbled in his sleep, resisting the pull to awareness. "James…" she said.
He woke up then, recognizing that tone in her voice, the warning in it, and the question. "Yes, Lily?" James asked, blinking the muffling blanket of sleep from his eyes to look at her. Sirius, when he was feeling neglected, told James that looking at Lily was becoming his hobby. Right now, however, James felt justified. Her skin was pale still, from sleep, and her eyelashes and hair tangled and mussed. James couldn't help but smile at her, which was, as it turned out, a mistake.
Lily's face turned down in disapproval, and the smile faded as she shifted to her back. "James…are you sure about this? About the wedding?" she asked, and smacked him as he smiled again. "I'm serious, I need to know."
"Lily," he said, and opened his arms to her. "Come here, love." She obliged him, nestling her head under his neck and pulling the covers up around them. They were quiet for some moments, before he kissed her. "I'm very serious about this. Lily, I'm dead serious about this." He kissed her again, on her eyelids, the tip of her nose. "And it's not because of the baby, if that's what you're worried about. As I recall, I proposed before we knew. I love you," James added, "and I want to spend the rest of my life with you."
She sighed, in defeat or pleasure, he didn't know, and nestled further into his embrace. "That's good," she told him. "Because I was a little worried you'd changed you mind, since we've started this whole thing. The getting ready, I mean." She tilted her face up to his to be kissed, and fell back to sleep.
In his arms, he noticed. She went to sleep in his arms.
