"Who's that?" Nessa asked while stealing a glance down the hall.
"Don't you know? Mr. Ping-Pong Champion? Everyone's talking about him!" said Elynn.
"Well I'm sorry that I'm not up on the news," answered Nessa. "What's his name?"
"That's Aron," Kimmie replied. "I thought you knew him from last year or something!"
"Hmm.interesting." Nessa said. "He's like.cute!"
"You think so hey? Are you absolutely sure you're going to fall for ANOTHER guy again? You remember what happened with Jordan Chang now." Kait warned her.
"This guy's different!" Nessa squealed.
"Sure." they all thought.

Nessa ran home that day, excited about her new find. She jumped on the computer, anxious to find out more information about this ping-pong champ. As she signed in, she realized that Elynn and Kimmie were on. She messaged them both right away and got into conversations about Aron and all the "great things" about him.
Amazingly, from what she heard from Elynn and Kimmie, she began to think more and more of him. He was a ping-pong champion, a great ultimate player, extremely smart, and basically.really good at everything. Elynn and Kimmie were constantly encouraging her to add him on her list, but she bluntly refused.
*** Later that night, Nessa was tired from doing all her homework, and decided to go to sleep. She climbed into bed, and then decided to grab something before she fell asleep. She got up, grabbed her yearbook from Grade 8, and climbed back into bed. Before turning off the lights, she flipped to the page that Aron's picture was on. She smiled and stared, and then tucked the book in beside her. Do I stand a chance? Nessa thought, Will I ever have a chance?
