The Second Voice: A Poem Dedicated to the
Authoress of "The Second Voice"
For Animagess From Shadow Bakura

~Calling out to me~
~From the far reaches of my mind~
~Echoing, penetrating, through the walls of my room~
~As I lay here, shrouded in fear~

~..Your darkness haunts me..~
~Chasing the Light away, out of my reach~
~I can feel it clawing at me, my head filled with doubt~
~Maybe the Light was never there,
A shrouded cloak that covered a true Identity~

~A Second Voice, in my mind
Taunting me, calling me,
Striking the cords that bind
Alone in this world,
That you've created me
Will someone save me?~
~Striking the chain, with past memories~
~Releasing the dual Identity~
~Fighting the one, who once fought for me~
~Stabbing his back, but also my own~
~With tears stained, in the color of blood~
~I reach out to you, through this raging flood~
~A Second Voice in my mind,
Taunting me, calling me
Striking the cords that bind
Alone in this world,
You've created me
I'm on my own,
Someone save me~
~All around me, faces stare blankly~
~Soulless vessels, empty eyes~
~The heart's still beating but my
Soul tells me otherwise~
~Can't seem to find you~
~Though you're easy to find~
~Cause you're always there~
~Buried in my mind~

~A nightmare to most~
~Only a dream to me~
~I know, deep in my soul~
~You'll be there for me~
~Forgive me, Pharaoh, oh king of these games~
~I'm done playing~
~Raise the bar~
~Go a step further~

~..Show me for who you really are..~

~A Second Voice, in my mind
Taunting me, calling me,
Striking the cords that bind
Alone in this world, you've created me
I am the ship, and you are the sea~
~So many faces, that look like your own~
~Only one can be you, so I am told~
~No matter who you are, stealer of souls~
~Your Second Voice will haunt me~
~I'm left in the cold~

Animagess, thanks for writing such an inspirational story. Being a
Christian myself, it's nice to know that there's someone out there not
afraid to show their feelings inside. The story was beautiful, right down
to the end. So much like ourselves, when we lose sight of who we are, and
fall for other who seem to have the stronger end of the deal. So I dedicate
this to you, and thank you for giving us all such a great novel.
Sincerely,
~Shadow Bakura~
