Disclaimer: My friends, I don't own HP. I wish I did. JK has like..wat is it? 3 billion bucks or something. But I don't own them. So pity me.
A/N You could call this a spoiler, but nah. Not really. Nothing really revealing.
My footsteps echo as I walk along the stone corridors coming out of the Slytherin Common Room to the rest of the (now dark and sleeping) school.
But I know she's still awake.
She's there. Something alone and confused. Not knowing who was the one who sent ther the mystery note telling her to meet them at the Astronomy Tower, 12 o' clock night on Friday.
As she heard me coming she turned around.
"Draco?"
"Hi Gin."
I experience a feeling of annoyance as I see a wave of relief rush over her face. I wanted to wipe that sweet smile off her bloody face.
"What did you want to talk about?"
"Do you know what Potter has done to my dad?"
Shock is written all over her face. That's more like it.
"Oh..Umm..Ermm..No, not really."
"He's being sent to Azkaban. Potter has sent my father to Azkaban."
"But Draco, you have to understand that your father was evil..."
"My father. Was. Not. Evil." I pushed her violently.
"Draco!"
"What? Would you like it if I called your father evil? Or poor?"
"Draco I'm sorry."
"You love him don't you."
"Who?"
"You love Potter. Don't act stupid Gin."
"No! I don't love him! He's like a brother, yes, but I don't love him."
"Don't lie."
"Draco I don't."
I pushed her again. Harder.
"Why are you stivking up for him?"
"I'm not! Draco, please!" I had pushed her again, and she had almost tumbled down the stairs.
"Potter is going to die, Gin. He's going to die."
"Draco!"
"And," I advance towards her, "It has to start with someone he loves, doesn't it? He needs a warning, doesn't he? Like you always say, Gin, prevention better than cure, right? You want to prevent his death, don't you? Because you love him. But something has to happen to get into his thick head that he isn't the best, that he isn't invincible."
"I don't love him Draco."
"You don't?"
I pushed her down the stairs. As she tried to regain her balance I asked her.
"Then who do you love?"
Just as she lost her balance she whispered the words that the minute she said them they engraved into my mind for eternity.
"I love you." Then she went.
I won't ever forget those words. Not because she was Weasel's sister, not because she was Potter's friend. And not because she was a girl about to die, who had uttered her last words to me.
But because I love her too.
A/N What you think? first fic after OotP, so please review. Also, I'm sitting here trying to write, I have a cold, drinking hot chockie, and wanting to go to sleep, in other words, I'm sick. Even pity reviews welcome.
