That's Why I Turned To You
Disclaimer: No matter how much I might wish, Kathryn, and everyone/thing else that is Star Trek, is not mine…that honour is bestowed upon Paramount and Gene Rodenberry. All hail Paramount and Gene Rodenberry.
Description: Kathryn only had one great depression in her life…until now.
A/N: This is my first fic, so please be nice, and constructive with the reviews that you *will* (please) write.

Kathryn sunk in to her couch; it had been a long day. Rubbing her temples, trying to vanquish the ever-present headache, she closed her eyes and thought about what she was about to do.
She expected Chakotay to arrive shortly for their daily ship report, to discuss the physical and emotional well being of the ship and her crew, go over what they accomplished that day and what they hoped to accomplish in the next few days.
As if on cue, the door chimed and Chakotay entered. She motioned him to take a seat and he complied, and started to go over the systems report he held in his hand.
"The warp core is functioning at peak efficiency, energy reserves are at an sufficient level for now, but Neelix says we should stop by a nearby system to replenish them as we are heading into a fairly meagre area of… Kathryn? Are you feeling okay?" he asked, suddenly concerned, realising she wasn't listening to him at all; she seemed pale in the dim light.
She sighed. Here goes nothing, she thought.
