Fire and Ice Chapter 2-Surprising Mission
Lunathwen walked down the hall in a white flowing gown. The gown had angled bell sleeves. Her fiery red hair was down, cascading down her back, save for two thick braids on either side of her head. She usually didn't dress like this, for she was a general in her kingdom's army. She now, however, was in Rivendell with her grandfather, Lord Elrond. She smiled as the many male elves stared at her in awe. One even said "Good morning Princess." She walked for a few more minutes until she reached her grandfather's chambers. Lunathwen knocked hesitantly.
"Enter," Her grandfather's booming voice answered. She opened the door and silently walked up to Lord Elrond. Before he could even turn around, she put her pale arms around him in a backward style hug. "Good morning grandfather," Lunathwen's sweet sounding voice said in a muted tone. She let go and walked in front of him.
" Good morning my child," Lord Elrond said with an almost inaudible sigh. Lunathwen's eyes turned from happy to serious. "What troubles you so grandfather?" He stared at his granddaughter for a moment. "What I have feared most has come true. The cursed ring of Saruman, the one ring, has returned!" Distress filled his eyes as he told Lunathwen this.
"The she-elf knew a great and terrible war would come to destroy the ring. 'Edans!.. They could have destroyed the ring long ago,' Lunathwen thought. Lord Elrond looked at his beautiful granddaughter, the one he was supposed to protect. He looked straight into her eyes and saw no fear, only anger and curiosity. "Do not be angry at the race of men, their hearts are easily corrupted." He paused before going on. " This is why we all need you to join the Fellowship of the Ring."
Lunathwen's eyes went to an enormous size. "Me?. Grandfather I do not know if I could do that." He hugged her gently "You can, you are a wonderful warrior. You are also the Fire Elemental. You can lift sorrow and pain from other's hearts. Without you, the Fellowship will fail. **************************************************************************** *** * Authors note: Ok this chapter is better.
