Chapter One: Ladybug

Marinette Agreste was just a regular citizen, as far as the world was concerned. She'd gotten married when she was nineteen, had a job at the Le Grande Paris Hotel, and sometimes helped her parents at their bakery. Yes indeed, Marinette couldn't have been any less normal. Well except for the fact that she was indeed different. She had a secret that no one except her employer "Guardian" knew about. Marinette Agreste was the great spy Ladybug.

She'd been taught and trained when she was around thirteen years old. Paris had been under threats from a terrorist called Hawkmoth. She'd been recruited along with a few others. She and one other person were given the mission of tracking down Hawkmoth and defeating him. Her partner was called Chat Noir. The two had become friends throughout their mission. After they had finally taken Hawkmoth down, Chat had sort of just dropped her. They hadn't spoken ever since.

If Marinette was being honest with herself, there had been a time when she had a crush on Chat. She managed to get over those feelings though. Around the time she turned seventeen, she'd been sent on a mission to locate Hawkmoth's son and see if he was a threat or not. That was how she met Adrien. He'd been quite cold the first time they met, but afterward, he seemed to soften up around her.

Even after she completed her report on Adrien, she still spent time with him. He eventually asked her out on a date. Skip to two years later, and they were married. She hadn't realized how long they had been dating until he got down on one knee and proposed. That day had been one of the happiest in her life. Now almost two years later, she was standing outside a shop looking at a baby carriage.

It was no secret that she wanted kids, but she knew that being a spy and a mother wouldn't mix well. She'd been planning on telling the "Guardian" for while now, but she was considering that it was time to retire. She knew that he would say yes, considering how loyal she had been over the past couple of years. Marinette just wasn't sure what was the right way to tell him.

She shook herself from her thoughts and headed towards the restaurant she and Adrien had been planning on having lunch at. It was a quaint little place they'd discovered on their first anniversary. It was one of their favorite places to go to. She stepped inside and was welcomed by the familiar scent of the place. The owner, Pierre, welcomed her in and gave her a nice table away from everyone else.

As she sat down she felt her phone buzz. She took it out of her purse and saw that she had a new message from 'Guardian'. She opened it, read what the message said, and sent a reply.

Ladybug, I know that you've been

meaning to retire for a while.

I will gladly let you go, but I have one

more mission that requires your

expertise.

Thank you for that sir. Now what's the

mission you need me for?

It will require you to work with an

old college. The mission is to take

down an old ally of Hawkmoth's.

We only just discovered her and

need to make sure she isn't any

potential threat to world peace.

Think you can handle it?

Of course, sir. Just one quick question.

Who' this old college that you're

referring to?

None other than Chat Noir, of

course.

Marinette spit out the water she was drinking. Him?! Why?! She saw another text pop up.

I'm sure the two of you will

handle this just fine. Thank

you again for doing this.

retirement.

She sighed. At least this would be her last mission before retirement. It could've been a worse request. She pushed away all negative thoughts as she saw Adrien approaching the table. He seemed upset, but when he saw her, he started to smile. She focused her attention on her husband for the rest of the afternoon.
