Deika City, 9 Months After All Might's Injury, 4 years and 3 months before main story
"Umi, my son, you need to go. Your father has been caught, and he will be coming here soon." A woman with long, silver hair, dark blue eyes, and lab coat said as she loaded her son onto a train with a large man.
"Oguro, make sure he isn't harmed in any way. With Arashi caught by heroes, us here in Deika City, Umi will not be safe. I know Yotsubashi wants him for his quirk, but I refuse to let Umi live his whole life under his service. I want him to be his own person, and you still owe Arashi for saving Koichi from the heroes." The woman said as the man who was at the station looked down at the mother consoling her child, a boy with long white hair, one violet eye and one lilac eye and tears running down his face.
Iwao Oguro didn't know what to expect. He used to be the High-Speed Hero: O'Clock before his quirk got taken away from that man. Then he became the quirkless vigilante known as Knuckleduster, fighting villains to try and get his daughter back and loving every second of every fight. His running buddy was Arashi Joku, a man similar to him. Arashi was more calm in fights, but both had immense respect for one another and when Oguro lost his hero license, Arashi followed him into the gray area, vowing to always stay by his side. Oguro considered Arashi a true brother, a person that could always be there, and Arashi even threw himself into the fire to save his protege, Koichi Haimawari, from the Hero Association and the police. Arashi was strong, on par with his skill and was rumored by the Heroes to be on par with Endeavor, and the police considered the capture of the vigilante, Sky God, a much more efficient win than capturing Koichi. Oguro was frustrated with himself, how he let his own brother-in-arms get captured and put into prison with no remorse for helping the heroes with justice, simply because the police had a problem with him.
"Don't worry Zari, I'll help little Umi as much as I can. I owe Arashi that much. Koichi does too, even if we all have gone dark. He'll be strong, strong enough to protect himself and smart enough to hide his true abilities of his quirk. I just don't understand why you can't come, you can find a new doctor's position." Oguro pleaded as the woman shook her head and got on her knees and looked directly at her son. Her son tried to hold back tears as she shed a little herself and rubbed them away quickly.
Zari Tanaka was one of the best doctor's of Japan, with her quirk, AeroHydro Therapy, where she could send wind to cut cells apart and water to heal people. It came with a severe drawback though, as she could suffocate herself if spent using wind too long and choke herself if she used water for too long, causing a need to be a good balance of both. Zari became one of the most successful healers of Deika City, healing patients with tumors by sending winds to destroy the extra cells and then healing the area with her water, or using water and healing bruises and stab/gun wounds. She loved Arashi, even an arranged marriage between their two families played perfectly into their hands, as they were already seeing each other before the marriage was finalized. Arashi was a joy to be around, and the meshed perfectly as their love could not be denied. On their wedding day, Arashi and Zari married when both were 26 years old and the two were given the surprise of a lifetime when they found out later that Zari was pregnant. Nine months later, on March 25th, their son Umi Joku was introduced to the world.
"I can't, because Yotsubashi will know something is up if the best doctor of Deika City and her 'prodigy' of a son suddenly leave the city, and will have someone hunt us down, so I have to stay behind. The people here are fanatics, Oguro, so they will know that we have left. And with Arashi behind bars over in Isengard and the possibility of the police having him sent over to Tartarus just so another 'villain' is behind bars, Umi needs to be the one to leave." Zari said seriously as Oguro nodded in acceptance as Umi finally spoke up with, "Mom, are you going to be alright? Will Mr. Yotsubashi come and stop you?" He looked at her and her heart shattered. Her son was always the type of person to never cry, as he was taught by her to not let stress control him and made sure he would be a polite, young man. Now, she was about to see her son for what might be the final time, and it was the first time in years that she had seen him leaking tears.
"Umi, my beautiful son. You need to go and never come back until you are ready. Get stronger, my little sea, because you need to be strong. Not just for me, but for all of us, including your father. Get stronger physically, mentally, emotionally, and fight for what you believe in. Don't let people force their ideals onto you, and be someone that everyone can love. I will always love you, my little sea, and we will always be together." Zari sobbed in front of her son while Oguro watched the heartfelt goodbye with a melancholy look.
The train's doors began to close, and Umi stepped inside with Oguro while Zari walked off to her house, making sure that, at least for now, her son would be protected. The train left Deika City, home of the infamous Meta Liberation Army, and Oguro patted Umi's back and said, "Don't worry kid." Umi looked up at him as Oguro looked down with a grin, "You'll train so hard, no one will be able to stop you. I'll look after you until you can stand on your own two feet, and then you can go dominate."
Umi looked down at his two hands, purple lightning sparkling around one, wind around the other with particles of water being formed from the air. Oguro looked at the boy, who was entirely focused on his quirk. Umi stopped using his quirk and looked up at Oguro, grinning with tears running down his face.
"Right, I won't be weak anymore. I'll be someone who does good in this world, not just for myself but for everyone who needs it. I'll be the strongest and change the way people are seen!"
June, 10 Months Before UA Begins
At Nakamura Junior High School in Tokyo, a teen with long white hair, blue Nike shirt with the Nike logo in white, light blue jeans, and white sneakers that looked to be 5'9 walked out of school at a slow pace, admiring the tall buildings that surrounded the school. His left eye was a lilac color while the right eye was covered by his hair, but was a dark purple. His calm breaths took in the warm air of the summer as citizens all walked down the streets while tourists stopped at many buildings and went in. This boy was Umi Joku, one of the top students from the school.
"I swear, if the principal wants to tell me to make the school proud at U.A one more time, I'm going to destroy all of the windows." He said while getting his hair out of the way of his right eye and letting both of his different colored eyes free, sparkling in the sunlight. The principal and teachers were nice enough, but they would try and say that he was the pride of the school and that simply wasn't true, as there were many students who he saw had the potential to be heroes, doctors, nurses and a lot of other jobs to help society.
He looked at the skyline and saw multiple aircrafts like blimps, helicopters and planes in the air as Tokyo was just naturally busy. On many buildings, there were screens that displayed the daily news, but they only showed hero-related news most of the time.
"The world needs to not just recognize heroes, but also other topics like what is happening around us in other countries, in case we get brought up in a global conflict and citizens are too busy focusing on heroes to notice."
Umi saw All Might's face everywhere, and while not disliking him, he recognized what All Might had done to their society. It wasn't All Might's fault that people put him on such a pedestal that if he fails, the whole world will fall with him, but it just made people too complacent and not focused enough on the outside world.
"At least he's doing his job of being the Symbol of Peace to everyone, that's probably why villain activity dropped significantly during his prime. Even now that's why some villains are still afraid to come out, because they know All Might will beat them, or they are too scared of the man's presence."
Umi walked towards the train station, given that he was to be moving to a new apartment in Mustafu today to be closer to UA. Oguro still kept in touch with him, even if the man didn't want to be seen anywhere near the hero or vigilante industry. He was now a family man, doing business and still training to make sure that if his family ever was under a threat, he would return to the brass knuckles and weapons that helped him before. Oguro paid for his apartment, and taught the boy everything he knew about the world, whether it came to combat, stocks, cooking, justice or health.
"Umi, I trained you just like I trained Koichi those years ago. I wanted him to progress and be strong, and now you are doing the same. Now get out pipsqueak, and show the world that you belong, and say hi to Arashi for me if the prison is accepting visitors."
A sigh escaped from his mouth as he grinned and walked towards the train with his suitcase in hand, on instinct masking his steps with the air around him, making sure no one could even hear him walk as he got onto an empty train car and watched as the train left the station, picturing his mother on the outside. He looked down and like before, purple lightning covered his right hand, while wind covered his left hand, and instead of small particles, bubbles appeared. Instead of a crying face, it was a calm look of happiness.
"Thank you mother, for saving me…" He looks outside at the sky, looking at the sun and laying back, closing his eyes and resting before whispering, "When I see you again, allow me to do the same."
Umi woke up to the sound of the train stopping and sat up to see the doors open and people walk in, so he got his suitcase and walked out, heading towards the apartment. He felt his phone vibrating and answered the call he was receiving to hear a gruff voice say, "Hey pipsqueak, you at the apartment yet?"
"I just arrived in Mustafu Uncle Oguro, what do you expect?" He said with a sarcastic tone as Oguro grunted and said, "Okay then, just wanted to let you know the address and how my wife is sending groceries over every two weeks using an app to deliver. You're lucky she's that kind, otherwise I would've had your ass get a job a long time ago."
Umi chuckled and said, "Yeah, I guess you're right. Thanks Uncle Oguro, talk to you soon." They hung up and Umi got a text of the address of the apartment. He and Oguro never really spoke to one another on the phone, as they mostly had their conversations saved for when they saw each other in person. Umi looked and saw a crowd of people and soon a burst of air that shattered the windows around, then multiple heroes that he knew of ran into the alleyway and brought out a dirty-blonde hair boy and green-haired boy.
"Weird, looks like those two got involved in a villain attack or something." He then looked closely and saw All Might himself jumping out of the alleyway and running away in street clothes, the media trying to follow him as he simply disappeared from their view.
Umi shrugged and walked away, not willing to bring himself to attention. He never had any friends over at Nakamura, or at least friends that truly appreciated him. He was typically quiet and calm, someone the whole class would respect and listen to but not really a social guy. Besides that were the people trying to "befriend" him simply for his quirk. He always saw the looks of greed that people would have when they walked up to him and saw what he did, even if he barely used his quirk. He essentially lied about how his quirk works, using his father's as a way to cover his tracks.
Arashi Joku's Quirk: Bolt Strike
Combination of Electrification and Polarity
-able to create electrical charges and fire light blue electricity, in which he can use in multiple creative ways
-can cover weapons with lightning
-can cover himself with lightning that speeds himself up
Weakness:
-over time, the lightning will start to paralyze the body and some limbs, and they will be unable to be used
His father minimized the weaknesses with the immense amounts of training that he went under, and Umi followed the regiment to the last letter. With the lightning, he was able to cover up his true quirk from the school, and even the principal couldn't find out what he truly was hiding.
Umi Joku's Quirk: Storm Surge
-Combination of Bolt Strike and AeroHydro Therapy
-able to channel lightning, wind, and water inside and outside of his body and in the area around him
-can take water out of the air
-can channel wind and lightning onto weapons like a bo staff or sword
-can channel them through his hands, feel, mouth, etc
-can summon lightning from the sky and send it down
-can slightly heal people with his water (limited) and send ionic shocks to heal people with his lightning (Cole MacGrath)
-can amp up his body using wind and lightning
-can combine the elements and use combo moves
Weaknesses:
-needs to keep the three in balance, otherwise he'd push himself further and further until he'd knock himself out from the strain.
-can cut himself using cutting winds if he is unable to react in time
-can disable his limbs using lightning
-can become waterlogged if he uses water
-with all three in balance, he just needs to worry about the strain
He hid his wind and water, not letting them get the slightest chance to be exploited by the school for their own gain. The teachers of Nakamura may not have been that way, but Umi was going to take no chances whatsoever. He knew there were people willing to exploit children because of their quirks and how they would make sure they always got good grades. The principal salivated over Bolt Strike as it already was, and basically said to the whole school that he was their pride and joy, so he wasn't going to reveal anything.
"At least, until I find someone I can really trust." He whispered to himself quietly. He arrived at the apartment complex, which was four buildings all labeled with numbers between 1-4. He walked inside and in the halls saw a short, dark green-haired woman waiting outside for something, tears running down her face. Umi saw the immense sadness on her face and walked up to the woman, who turned and saw the teen.
"Excuse me ma'am, are you alright?"
Inko Midoriya was not having a great day. First it was the fact that her son Izuku never came home immediately after school, then she tried calling him 15 times and he had never picked up, so she had no idea where her son was, as he had always picked up the phone after at most 2 times calling. Her son is her pride and joy, and she didn't know what she would do if he was missing. She felt a tap on her shoulder and hoped it was Izuku, but turned to see a white-haired teen with hair covering his right eye around the same age as her son right in front of her.
"Excuse me ma'am, are you alright?"
Inko was confused, as the whole apartment building didn't really try to talk to her at all, much less try to ask if she was alright. She then looked and saw him holding a suitcase, coming to the conclusion that he was moving here and was new.
"Yes yes, I'm sorry I just…" Inko wiped away her tears as she didn't want to appear sad in front of a new person in the complex, but started crying again as she couldn't contain herself.
"My son Izuku, he's gone, and I don't know where he is." Tears went down her face as the boy looked at her with an understanding look as he asked, "Well, how long has he been missing? And where did you last see him?"
"He's been missing for 4 hours, as he never comes home this late. The last time I saw him, he left for school. He's a green-haired boy that is in middle school." She started crying a waterfall of tears as Umi nodded and remembered the green-haired boy from the alleyway.
"Oh, green-haired middle schooler, I think I saw someone like that today earlier." He then felt Inko grab onto his shirt and start shaking him with immense strength, bawling while asking desperately where her son was.
Umi jumped back and said while gathering his bearings, "Your son is fine, at least he was when I saw him. When I saw him, he was with this blonde-haired guy and being rescued by heroes from a villain attack. All Might showed…" He felt enormous intent from Inko as she asked with anger, "A VILLAIN ATTACK?!"
Umi wasn't fazed, and calmly said while putting his hand up, "Yeah, your son was saved by All Might. The other heroes didn't seem to be doing anything, but All Might showed up and saved your son and this other kid. Your son should be fine." He said with a slight smile while all of the anger and sadness disappeared from Inko's face and was replaced by slight hope.
"Oh, All Might was always Izuku's favorite hero, I'm glad he got to meet his inspiration." Inko said while happiness radiated off of her face and Umi nodded while asking, "Why don't you walk around the neighborhood for a bit? See if you can find him around and if he's just not enjoying the outdoors, it's something I always do. I'll even go with you to help, if you want."
It didn't take much time before Inko dragged Umi outside while she looked around for her son. While she was calling for him, Umi used the air around them and used a move called "Air Search," in which he used the wind to pinpoint people's locations. He felt multiple people around the area, but most notably, one person standing and another one on the floor two streets away, before one sped away and the other continued to lie there.
"There is a person two streets away on the sidewalk, lying on the ground. We could go check there." Inko didn't question how he knew that and immediately ran towards the person, and a couple minutes later they reached the street, Inko panting heavily while Umi kept a calm face on. They saw a boy sitting down underneath a tree, crying with a smile on his face while mulling over something. The boy had green-hair and a school outfit on, while also holding a burnt notebook in his hand.
"IZUKUUUUUUU!" Inko forgot that she was tired and ran towards Izuku, who turned and felt his mother crash into him before having the life suffocated out of him by a tight hug as Umi held a slight smirk watching the "family reunion."
"M-Mom, what are you doing here?!" Izuku exclaimed as his mother cupped his face and looked him straight in the eyes and said, "I was worried Izuku, you didn't come home and never answered my calls, so I thought something was wrong. And I go and find out you get in a villain attack." Another waterfall of tears came out of Inko's face as Izuku tried to block it, meanwhile Umi had wondered if she had a water quirk like him.
"I'm s-sorry Mom, I just…" Izuku froze before looking at his mother and saying with complete seriousness while holding a smile, "I just wanted to save Kacchan, I needed to save him. I just wanted to be like All Might for a little bit of time." Izuku said while Inko hugged him tightly again and said, "Well, you finally got to meet your hero. Was he anything like you thought he would be?" She asked with a teary smile as Izuku flinched, but then grinned while wiping away his tears and said, "Yeah, everything and more. He was so amazing! His quirk was strong; He was fast; He was always smiling, it was like everything I imagined he would be like." Izuku hid what actually happened with All Might before his mother got there, and he wasn't going to let her know now without actually doing all the work needed.
"M-Mom, I do have a question though?" Izuku subtly asked while his mother was too busy smothering, "What is it son?"
"How did you find me so quickly? I thought you wouldn't have ran all the way here?"
"Oh, it was because of the sweet boy around your age! He somehow found you when we were still over at our apartment building using his quirk, and led me here." Izuku's eyes grew stars at the possibility of such a quirk that was able to search such a distance and looked towards the direction Inko came from, and saw Umi standing there, looking over at the sunset with a melancholy glint in his eyes. He saw the family reuniting and didn't want to end up interrupting their moment, as it was obvious the mother cared about "Izuku" a lot and made sure to baby him and keep him well. He saw the two approach them before Inko bowed and said, "Thank you for helping me find my son. It means a lot to know that you hadn't even told me your name, but still helped me."
Umi nodded and glanced back towards the sky, which was now painted with a burning orange glow as the sun set slowly and the moon rose, a certain balance being achieved as purple started to fade into the sky, the night befalling them.
"You're welcome…" Inko and Izuku saw the boy looking at the sky as he turned around and both of his different colored eyes showed themselves to the two, to which he smiled slightly and said, "After all, it is a mother's job to truly worry about their children. You sacrifice all for your children, hoping for them to see better days and raise them from the ground up until they are able to see the world. A true mother would never give up on a child, and I can see that you perfectly encapsulate this…" Inko and Izuku both widened their eyes at Umi talking, sharing wisdom that should be way beyond his years, but also having a sad undertone as the smile on his face reminded them of a person reminiscing on lost times. Inko started to cry softly again, and Izuku patted her on the back softly while watching Umi finish what he had to say.
"If you're a good mother, a person willing to sacrifice for your child, you're a hero, and no other person can tell you otherwise." He said as he started walking as Izuku held Inko up as they walked back to the apartment complex, Umi grabbing his suitcase and Inko finally calming down and Izuku in his room, sleeping from a stressful day after what had happened with the slime villain.
"I just want to thank you again, and personally invite you to our apartment complex. I hope you can become friends with Izuku in the future, you seem like you have a good head on your shoulders." Inko bowed and Umi closed his eyes and bowed back, surprising Inko.
"Thank you for your hospitality. It is my first time in this part of Mustafu and with how nice the people were so far, I can tell it will be a good place to live." He said while his lilac eye shined in the darkness and then stood up and stuck his hand out.
"My name is Umi Joku, it's nice to meet you."
"My name is Inko Midoriya, and the same goes for you."
Umi walked back to his apartment after his encounter with the Midoriya's, a
nd the serenity of it all made him chuckle as he walked into his new apartment and just looked around, admiring the new view.
Umi whistled and texted Oguro, telling him that he was extremely grateful for the apartment before getting the apartment ready and putting his stuff into his room.
"Damn Uncle, you do not disappoint when you get me something huh." Umi said to himself with a smile as he looked outside from the window and saw the moon fully up now, while the sun finally disappeared into the horizon.
"Alright…" He got up and went to the table before grabbing a notepad and writing down what he had planned for the next 10 months.
1. Find a Training Spot that suits the needs for my Quirk and fighting style, then train hard until I get into UA
2. Keep up on studying so I don't lose my edge
3. Take a 5-10 mile jog every morning
4. See Father
He stopped after that one, putting down the notepad and began to just ponder on his own feelings. He hadn't seen his father ever since he was arrested, as no one was ever allowed to see him for a minimum of 5 years. The 5 years would be up 3 months before UA began, and then he would be available for visits.
"There's also the UA teachers, who will recognize me for my last name." He sighed in annoyance as he knew some of the teachers would know who his father was, nevermind the rest of the heroes that hunted the vigilantes.
"I have to either silence myself at UA and hide within so they don't actively monitor me, or try to just ignore it." He looked away and at the moon, before looking back and uncovered his right eye, looking in the mirror as he stared himself down.
"Remember…" Purple arcs of lightning trailed down his body as water from the sink started to float.
"You're never alone. Mother is always with you."
Umi woke up at 5:30 A.M, and saw that the sun had just started to rise considering it was the day of the Summer Solstice. He got up and washed his face, before putting on white shorts, sneakers, and a plain black tank top and heading out for his jog. He was going to find his training spot on his jog, and then come home to take a shower and finish his studying.
"No time to waste, let's go." He thought to himself and walked outside to get a feel of the air around him. He activated Air Search and felt the people around him, which wasn't a lot as most were still sleeping. He did however feel someone coming up behind him slowly, and immediately spun around and scared the person into falling backwards on the floor before noticing who it was.
Izuku Midoriya was on his way to start his journey of becoming the number one hero, a person that could be just as recognized as All Might himself. Izuku was quirkless, and in the world of quirks, he was barely tolerated, and if not almost always was bullied by his peers. His peers would always single him out, beat him up, destroy his self-confidence in any way they could simply because he wasn't born like them. The person who did this the most was his "best friend" Katsuki Bakugo, who specifically targeted him all of the time, hitting him with explosions and finding any single way to hurt him. It didn't matter to Izuku though. He went through every hoop, and now had a chance to get a quirk to become the hero that he wanted to be. All Might gave him a chance, and now he was going to grab that chance and hold onto it with passion. He would be a Symbol of Peace.
Izuku didn't know who this boy was though, as he went to sleep as soon as he got home and saw that his mom got help finding him from the guy, who turns out had just moved in that day. When his mom defined what he could do with his quirk, Izuku wanted to know more, because the distance that he could find where he was at was insane, and wanted to know the capabilities of the quirk and write it down. He saw the guy walking down the halls at the same time he woke up with what looked like training clothes on, and wanted to talk to him. Before he even got close to him though, the guy spun around quickly with a tense look on his face as Izuku fell back before all the emotions flooded out of the guy's face and he walked up before smiling.
"Oh, you're Ms. Midoriya's son right, sorry about that." The guy raised his hand and pulled Izuku up before saying, "Hope you're alright, that was my bad." Izuku stuttered and said, "I-it's alright, I did sneak here. H-how did you know I was there?"
Izuku saw the guy's face switch, almost as if debating to say something before sighing and pointing at the light. He started saying, "It was my quirk. You see the light?" Izuku nodded and the guy continued with, "My quirk is called Bolt Strike, and I can use electricity and lightning in multiple ways, whether it be attacking, defending, or scouting. I can connect my lightning into multiple electrical sources that feel out the area, so before I came down here, I sent a small electrical spark into the street lights and hallway lights so I could see if people were in the area, and felt you behind me."
Izuku's eyes shined before he took out his notebook and started scribbling while mumbling fast as he then heard what Izuku was mumbling. "He could have batteries installed in his arms, he could use electrolytes to power up his electricity, he could create static. Would he overcharge himself if he used too much? Does he shock himself? How can he feel people use his electricity to sense people? Can he shock people awake?" He chuckled before tapping Izuku on the shoulder and saying while Izuku looked up from his writing, "No electrolytes or anything of the sorts. My body simply adapts to lightning and I can almost freely control it. Look." Purple lightning went into his palm before dissipating before more covered his leg, then covered his whole body.
"That's so cool! What are some things you can do?" Izuku received a head shake in return as he said, "No can do, can't reveal all of my secrets. I see you're writing down quirks in that notebook of yours though, so when I trust you more, I'll let you in on a few more secrets."
"W-wait, can I at least know your name?" He saw the guy put his hand out as Izuku smiled and shook it back with complete happiness as the guy replied with,
"Umi Joku, nice to meet you."
"Izuku Midoriya, same here! It's really nice to meet you!"
"Well then, I'm going to go on my jog now. Maybe I'll see you later. Until then Midoriya." Umi jogged off with a wave as Izuku looked at him with admiration in his eyes. It was one of the first times someone had ever been really nice to him. Sure, he didn't know what Umi would have to say if he knew that he was quirkless, but it was a sign that just maybe, he'd have a new friend soon. Izuku's face then grew excited, as he started to run towards Dagobah Municipal Beach Park, ready to get started on his training.
Umi jogged around the outskirts of the city, passing by multiple monuments as he showed no sign of being tired and kept the pace up. He kept his eyes trained on different areas and tree patches before getting a notification on his phone that he passed the 5-mile mark. He didn't stop to look as he simply put his phone away before looking around to see if there were any spots that truly fit where he was going to end up training. He then came up on a street park that seemed to be falling apart and destroyed, as it was walled off and park benches were thrown on their sides and no one seemed to come around anymore. He looked at the destroyed sign next to the walls and it spelled out, "Barasona Street Park."
Umi smirked and launched himself over the walls, making sure to double check for people who could watch and took a walk through the destroyed park.
"This could've been the result of a battle, since there are burnt trees and burn marks all around the area. Maybe this was a place Endeavor came by. It does make sense considering he has no type of restraint when it comes to the surrounding area." Umi thought as the walkways were charred black and multiple trees were burnt and benches were broken apart. He went on the grass and saw all of the trash that was tipped over from garbage cans left there after so long. He continued to walk around as the area looked more and more like a warzone, as the trees all looked on the verge of collapsing and a whole fistprint was shown on the ground.
He then saw something that caught his attention, a pond that was somehow untouched by the destruction. The water was clear and shined with the sunlight, and Umi smirked and walked to it, bringing the water from the pond into the air, before sending it back down and allowing the water to splash everywhere, clearing some of the ash marks that had covered the place.
"Oh yeah, this is the place." He launched himself onto the wall and looked around the whole park, seeing the destruction and how he would make it beautiful again, using his quirk to take everything down in the process.
He gathered lightning in his hand, and shot it straight at one of the largest trees, tearing it apart and starting a fire before putting out the fire with his water. Then he cut the tree logs into smaller logs using precise wind cuts, taking out the tree in mere seconds with no hesitation.
He jumped down and got to work, intent on starting his training and making sure he isn't found out by police for trespassing or using his quirk without a license.
"Well then, let's become the strongest."
Notes:
Umi Joku's Character: Calm, collected, and fearless. His motivations are in the next chapter. He's also a little bit of a flirt with people who flirt with him back, but he is a person who takes stuff very seriously.
Nakamura Junior High Students: Will be in Gen Ed, as I looked up quirks that could fit some of them.
Umi's quirk: Is overpowered, yes, but I hope I made the weaknesses a lot more noticeable. He won't be winning every fight, and he won't be perfect.
Meeting Inko and Izuku: I want Inko to feel like a second mother to him, like Oguro was a second father. Izuku is a friend that he has a dynamic with, as he makes Izuku a bit more self-confident with his attitude, while Izuku breaks down the walls that he puts up for trust
Why bring in Vigilantes: Because I fucking love them. Koichi, Kazuho, Stain, Knuckleduster, Kugizaki, and more of Aizawa's past. Vigilantes is a great spin-off and I recommend it. Tsukauchi is way more fleshed out there, Aizawa is a goddamn badass, Knuckleduster is even more of a badass, and Stain's past before becoming the Hero Killer is awesome.
QOTD: If you have read vigilantes, who is your favorite character in there? I love Aizawa, Tsukauchi, and Knuckleduster. Aizawa being an underground hero meshes perfectly with the vigilantes, Tsukauchi is brought in way more, and Knuckleduster is just a GOAT.
Next Chapter: The Finish of the clean up, Umi meeting the person I decided to pair him with, and The UA Entrance Exams.
