Bright lights… Loud noises… My breath falling short…

Voices in my ear… The sound of polished shoes moving away…

"Where's… exit, O…?"

"Up ahead, J… Through… win…"

A gunshot and broken glass… Fresh air hitting me… "Show off…"

The feel of concrete… Brighter lights… The sound of amped voices…

"Babe, watch out!"

I coughed and spluttered as I felt the water start to soak into my school uniform and my hair sticking to my face. As I go to rub my face, I hear the familiar sound of chains and the pressure against my wrists and my body groans in pain 'Handcuffs?... Fuck me, I hurt!' I opened my eyes to an unfamiliar dark room and four blurred figures standing in front of me.

"You still don't get it, do you?" One of the figures said moving closer to me and within my focus, the grey suit he was wearing didn't suit him at all.

Pain racked through my head as I landed on the floor, several feet away from the chair that I was just occupying, looking back, said chair, was still standing like nothing happened. My glasses landing even further away.

I groaned again in pain as I tried to remember how I got here, only bits and pieces were coming and every bit hurt like hell. More pain greeted me as the man's shoe was placed on the side of my head and started to push down. I couldn't help but close my eyes and scream in agony as I heard a popping noise. My heart was beating widely as I felt a trickle of blood run out of my nose. I heard him chuckle after he removed his shoe in-between the sound of my blood hitting the floor.

"Obstruction of justice, blackmail, defamation, possession of weapons…. Now this one is my favourite one on this list." The same guy said and upon opening my eyes, I saw a metal clipboard in one of his hands. He looked at me like I should know what he was going to say, but the way his creepy smile broadens, he knew I didn't. "Manslaughter."

I must have looked like a dear caught in a set of headlights, if his small bit of laughter was to go by. 'I… we didn't… we didn't kill anyone, did we?'

"…" The guys' voice gets drowned out by a sea of white noise as I watch two of the other men in the room move towards me and lifting just enough to drop me into an uncomfortable sitting position. Every part of my body was screaming at me for some form of rest and treatment, the taste of blood was heavy. It was then that I feel the handcuffs loosen and as I bring my hands in front of me, I could see heavy bruises around my wrists. I sat there rubbing them. 'She's going to kill me when she sees me like this.'

When a metal clipboard gets thrusted towards me, I look up and notice that the grey suit guy had crouched down in front of me. As my vision clears, I look past him and towards the CCTV camera and he follows it. Whatever he said didn't get past the white noise till he thrusts the clipboard towards me again.

"… It's a confession under your name." He said pulling out a silver looking pen from an inside pocket of his jacket.

'What I did was just and I'm positive that we didn't kill anyone.' As I push the clipboard away, my arms ached and it was clear that that was not what he wanted.

"I see….. I need your hand to sign this, but…." He stood. "I don't care if you end up losing a leg." With that, he brings the same foot down as before onto my knee and pushed harder. I couldn't help but scream again as the pain was unbearable and I honestly thought that he would have crushed my knee into dust, so when he removes his foot, I tried bending said joint and was I relieved to find it working. I watch him crouch down again with clipboard and pen in hand towards me.

I reluctantly take the clipboard from him and as I reach for the pen, he leans in close. "Don't expect to walk out of here in one piece." He said just loud enough for me to hear it. "We're going to make you understand. One must take full responsibility for their actions." The pen has a familiar weight to it when I take it from him before I sign my name underneath the list of "crimes" that I've done.
