Author's Note: This is set right after they bring Jackson back, in the season 2 finale. And not meant to be Allison or Derek bashing.

Scott couldn't really do much besides stand in shock as Jackson came back to life. He didn't really understand how killing him got rid of the kanima and kept the wolf, but he wasn't going to question it. There were a lot of things he would never get the answers to in this new life he was living, but at least this outcome was a happy one. Although explaining this to everyone who'd seen Jackson die on the lacrosse field was not going to be easy. That was not going to be his problem.

"Pants, you need pants," Stiles muttered, rushing to the back of his jeep to rummage through the junk. Scott hesitated to think what would've happened if Stiles hadn't shown up when he did. Allison looked hell-bent on killing Derek before Gerard interrupted. And the kanima probably would've killed them all in response to that last command. It was very unfair for the kanima to be so overpowered like that.

"Are you sure you're okay?" Lydia asked, still clutching onto Jackson in desperation.

"Will you take me home please?" Jackson asked, snatching the offered pair of sweatpants from Stiles. Well, it was nice to see that Jackson's brush with death hadn't changed him too much. Werewolf Jackson was going to be interesting.

"Everyone kind of thinks you're dead," Stiles said, jerking back from the glare Jackson sent him. "We'll figure it out on the way." Lydia ushered Jackson into the backseat of the jeep, Stiles looking a little discouraged at the turn of events. Scott knew Stiles didn't wish Jackson had stayed dead, but he knew the other boy wasn't happy seeing Lydia latched onto his side again.

"Call me later, okay?" Scott requested, satisfied by Stiles' wave of acknowledgement. He climbed into his car with one last pat to the hood, frowning at the new damage. Would it be in poor taste for Stiles to ask Jackson for repair money? If it was, Stiles would definitely do it. They drove away, leaving the rest of them huddled up in their groups.

Allison was still holding his hand, but he wasn't sure if it was due to shock or because she wanted to make up. Scott didn't mind either way, just relishing in the contact for as long as he could have it. They were going to have to talk about everything that had gone on the last few days.

"I'm going to go look for Gerard. Will you be okay here?" Chris asked, stepping forward to squeeze Allison's shoulder. Scott was kind of shocked that that was the Argent who was fighting on his side this time. Things sure had changed in such a short time.

"I'll be fine," Allison nodded, tilting her head to accept her dad's kiss on the cheek. Chris trotted off in the direction of the black drops, trailing after his possibly dying father. Scott had no idea that would happen to Gerard when he essentially poisoned the man, but he hadn't had any other choice. He took a chance and got lucky and he wouldn't apologize for it. Gerard would still be fine if he hadn't forced them into giving him the bite. You just didn't threaten Scott's mom.

"Peter?" Derek called out, rubbing at his midsection. Scott didn't see quite how bad he'd gotten slashed, but it had to be pretty significant for it to have incapacitated Derek like it had. It wasn't debilitating enough for there to have been a ton of kanima venom involved, but it was still bad enough for Derek to still be feeling it evidently.

"I think he left already," Scott muttered, looking toward where he'd come out of the shadows before. Interesting how he hadn't appeared when they were getting their asses kicked. Leave it to Peter to wait until the danger was over.

"C'mon Isaac, let's go," Derek grunted, stalking off toward the exit. He'd made it a few yards before he realized Isaac wasn't following. Scott looked over to see what the hold up was, eager to get a moment alone with Allison before her dad came back and whisked her away. The other teen was looking a little dazed now that Scott was paying attention.

"Isaac?" Scott asked.

"I said, let's go!" Derek demanded, flashing his Alpha eyes. That seemed to shake Isaac out of his stupor, but when he tried to move forward his steps faltered and he would've hit the ground if Scott hadn't been there to catch him.

"Whoa!" Scott exclaimed, easing Isaac down to the floor on his back. He'd been fine just a minute ago, right?

"What the hell?" Derek growled, crouching down on Isaac's other side. Isaac was pale and sweaty, and his eyes were rolling around like he couldn't focus. Derek lifted the bottom of his shirt, checking to see what was underneath. There were multiple stabs and gashes that looked like they hadn't healed at all. "Why aren't you healing?"

"I don't know," Isaac mumbled, whimpering when Derek roughly rolled him on his side to check his back. It looked worse than his front.

"Easy!" Scott yelled, trying to soften Derek's aggressive handling.

"That's funny, I don't remember you telling your girlfriend to take it easy when she was stabbing my Beta for no reason," Derek snapped, leaning back to sit on his haunches. "Maybe you should ask her why Isaac isn't healing." Allison was standing away from them, not looking at the damage she'd caused.

"Allison, do you know what's happening?" Scott asked, keeping his voice calm.

"Gerard showed me how to lace my blades with wolfsbane," Allison whispered.

"Oh my God," Scott mumbled, flashing back to how Derek's arm looked after the wolfsbane bullet.

"He said it would just slow the werewolf down for a while," Allison said defensively, sending Scott a pleading look.

"He lied," Scott muttered, looking back down at Isaac. He wouldn't even be here if he hadn't come back to help. And look what that had gotten him.

"Apple doesn't fall far from the tree, does it?" Derek spat, glaring up at Allison. "Your aunt would be so proud."

"Don't you dare talk about my family. My mother is dead because of you!" Allison snapped, letting her hand twitch as if primed to wield a weapon.

"Your mother is dead because of your bullshit code. Because she was too scared to become the thing she hated most," Derek sneered.

"How dare you? You're the one who bit her!"

"Don't be mad at me that you weren't enough to stay alive for."

"Enough!" Scott shouted, exasperated by their fighting. Neither of them seemed to care that Isaac was possibly dying at their feet. "We need to help Isaac before it's too late."

"Do you have any of the wolfsbane you poisoned him with?" Derek asked, spitting out the words.

"No, Gerard showed me at home," Allison replied, gritting her teeth.

"Well, that's just great."

"Now is not the time for this!" Scott yelled, grabbing Isaac's hand. If he couldn't fix him right now, he could at least take some of his pain away. Scott concentrated on pulling the pain into his body, but nothing happened. He tried again, attempting to tune the rest of the world out. He'd never had to do this in a high pressure situation before. "Why isn't this working? Why can't I take his pain?"

"The wolfsbane prevents it," Derek sighed, running his hand through Isaac's hair. Allison smirked, shaking her head. "Something funny about this?"

"Yeah, you pretending you care about anyone but yourself!" Allison snapped.

"That's rich, coming from the girl who put him down here. You ever ask yourself what happened that night? You think I bit your mom just to be an asshole?" Derek challenged, rising to his feet. Scott stood too, scared they'd attack each other if he wasn't in between them.

"It wouldn't surprise me, since you are one," Allison spat.

"Right. And what's your excuse for stabbing Isaac?"

"He was in my way."

"He was fighting the kanima! He was doing what we were all here to do, until you came in here with your little vendetta."

"Little? Trying to avenge my mother's death is not little!" Allison yelled, clenching and unclenching her hands like they were aching for her blades.

"See, that's your immaturity showing. Sometimes you have to set aside revenge and retribution and focus on what's most important at the time. And I can assure you, your mother doesn't rank as high as you think," Derek sneered, grinning as Allison's face gradually turned red.

"How dare you!"

"You didn't know your mother as well as you think you did. Ask Scott what she was doing that night," Derek challenged, tipping his head in Scott's direction.

"You were there?" Allison gasped, whirling around to face him.

"I- I wanted to find the right time to talk to you about this," Scott stammered, sending a glare in Derek's direction. This wasn't the place for this discussion. Especially not with everything else going on.

"Tell me," Allison demanded, taking a step back.

"I-"

"Allison, let's go!" Chris called from the other part of the warehouse. He walked in, pausing at the sight of what was going on. "What happened?"

"Your daughter poisoned my Beta," Derek growled, crouching back down at Isaac's side.

"Mr. Argent, we need to borrow your car. We need the wolfsbane Allison used to save Isaac," Scott said, hoping the tentative truce they had was still in effect. If Chris refused, he didn't know how they'd be able to help Isaac. Chirs shot a look at Allison that looked like a cross between disappointment and defeat. There was definitely something going on there, but they didn't have time for more drama. Everything could wait until after Isaac was okay.

"Help me move Gerard into the back," Chris said, motioning for Scott to follow him. Scott trotted in that direction, leaving Derek to deal with getting Isaac to the car. Gerard was looking pretty bad, with all the black goo steadily leaking from all over his body. Scott avoided making eye contact with Chris. Even though Gerard was a bad guy, he was still Chris' dad. There had to be some complicated feelings thrumming through him right now.

Derek rushed forward as soon as the seat was cleared, with Isaac cradled in his arms. He was still conscious, barely, but that might not have been a good thing. Scott remembered the pain Derek was in from that one bullet wound. Isaac had multiple stabs, deep in his body. It had to be agony.

He helped Derek get Isaac situated across his lap, climbing in with them and setting Isaac's legs on his own. Isaac moaned at being jostled, pushing at Derek's arms weakly as they held him in place. They'd pulled off a miracle and found a way to resolve all their current threats, but now Isaac was possibly dying and it wasn't fair. He didn't deserve this.

Chris took off as soon as Allison climbed into the front seat of the car, speeding out of the warehouse and down the alley toward the Argent house. Isaac let out one last shout of pain before he finally went limp, his cheek bouncing against where it rested on Derek's lap. Derek pulled him up, tucking Isaac's head under his chin in a rare act of affection. Scott had never seen him look so vulnerable, not even when he'd been near death himself. Maybe there was a person with feelings under the stern facade he always had up?

Scott could see Derek's lips moving against Isaac's hair and he tuned everything else out so he could hear what he was saying. It might've been an invasion of privacy, but he didn't care right now. His heart clenched when he finally heard the words that Derek seemed to be repeating like a mantra.

"Come on, Isaac. You can't leave me too."
