Season 2 Episode 7: Pups Save The Parrot! Tuck And Ella's First Jungle Vacation!
February 4th, 2030
After the chaos that was February 1st, the group needed a break. More than that, they needed a vacation. Not from rescuing or adventuring, but from Adventure Bay. Lucky for them, yesterday Carlos had called them and invited them over to the jungle. He also needed help finding his pet parrot Mateo.
Ben, Ryder, and Marshall were all too happy to agree to come over and help him search for the talking bird. So the next day, they woke up early and piled into the Paw Patroller, with Alex staying behind with Wild and Ace to do some more work on their Air Patroller project. This would be Tuck and Ella's first trip to the jungle. Skye whimpered as she saw a large harpy eagle during the ride, which Ben comforted her on. "Don't worry Skye. I'll slice it or soak its eyes if it tries to hurt ya." Ben promised.
"Aww, thanks Ben." Skye said, giving him an affectionate headbutt.
The PAW Patroller parked where Carlos and Tracker had agreed to meet them, and everyone got out as Carlos and Tracker ran towards their massive van. Ben grinned as he and the others walked out of the van and approached the human and potcake. Ryder ran up and hugged Carlos. "Carlos, it's great to see you! How have you been?" Ryder asked.
"I've been good, I'm just worried about Mateo." Carlos answered.
Meanwhile, Tuck and Ella were tackling Tracker. "TRACKER!" Tuck cheered.
"It's so good to see you!" Ella exclaimed.
"¡Hola gemelos! It's good to see you too!" Tracker chuckled as he was pinned down by the twins. While Ella gave Tracker plenty of friendly licks, Tuck started to massage Tracker's belly. Ben had told the Golden Retrievers that Tracker had a special weakness for belly rubs. "¡ME GUSTA MUCHO, ME GUSTA MUCHO!" Tracker squealed in delight as Tuck rubbed his paws all over Tracker's tummy, tickling him too. Tracker's paws kicked and flailed around in the air in pleasure, enjoying this display of friendship very much. "Tan feliz that you two became members of the Paw Patrol!" Tracker happily said.
Then he blushed as he excused himself to use the bathroom. When Tracker returned from his break, Ben came over and scratched Tracker underneath his chin. "Yeah, I knew that these two had great courage and bravery, just like you did! Course, they don't have your absolutely adorable ears." Ben teased as he gave the potcake a boop on the nose.
"Good to see you too, Ben!" Tracker greeted the human.
Sadly, their playtime was cut short by Ryder calling the group. "PAW Patrol, to the PAW Patroller!" Ryder announced.
"Ryder needs us!" All of the pups shouted as they ran to their van.
As Ben, Tuck, Ella, and Tracker stepped up the ramp, Ben turned around. "Hey wait a minute… where's Marshall?" Rocky wondered.
As if to answer their question, the ground started to shake as an elephant came running towards them, with Marshall perched on top of the elephant's head. "HERE I COME!" Marshall yelled as he slid down the elephant's trunk and leapt off of it, landing in the middle of the group gracefully. Ben clapped his hands together and the other pups howled in amazement. "A perfect landing, Marshall!" Ben complimented.
The group ran to the center of the PAW Patroller, where the mechanical arms extended from the wall and dressed the pups in their jungle gear, before they ran to the front of the van and took their spots in Mission Control at the front of the van. "PAW Patrol, ready for action, Ryder, sir!" Chase cried out. Ryder and Carlos were already at the front of the vehicle ready to give instructions.
"Sorry to cut your jungle fun short, pups, but we have an emergency. Carlos's little parrot Mateo is still missing in the jungle, and according to Carlos, Mateo doesn't know how to take care of himself." Ryder explained.
"On his own?" Chase asked worriedly.
"Poor little parrot." Rubble remarked.
"I trained him to talk, and you can identify him by his blue and red colors. I taught him to say 'squawk' for help." Carlos added.
"Skye, I need you and your helicopter to look for Mateo from the air. Chase, I need you to use your spy drone to search the treetops. Marshall, I need you to use your ladder to look for Mateo in the thick leaves. Tracker will listen for Mateo with his hearing, while Ben and the twins can accompany him." Ryder instructed.
"This pup's gotta fly!" Skye yipped.
"Super Spy Chase is on this case!" Chase howled.
"I'm fired up!" Marshall roared.
"I'm all ears! ¡Soy todo oídos!" Tracker proclaimed.
"We're on it, Ryder!" Tuck and Ella chorused.
"Into the jungle!" Ben declared.
"All right! PAW Patrol is on a roll!" Ryder announced as he ran to his ATV. The other pups got in their vehicles and drove out of their van, while Ben mounted his Dragon Cycle.
Marshall had to go chase after Mandy after she stole his fire helmet, and Chase had to help him get it back using his spy drone. Skye screamed as an eagle got in her face while flying her helicopter, and had to take evasive maneuvers. "Twins, you follow Tracker, I've got to fulfill my promise to Skye! DRAGON WINGS!" Ben yelped, putting his bike into air mode and taking into the skies to chase the eagle away from Skye's helicopter.
"Get out of here, you fat feathered freak!" Ben shouted as he pressed the horn on his Dragon Cycle, causing a loud dragon roar to erupt from the horn. The eagle screeched at Ben before flying away. Ben flew up to Skye's side, glancing at the shivering pup. "Skye, you okay?" Ben asked.
"I… I'm fine. Just a bit rattled. I didn't think eagles would be in the jungle. I think I might need to clean my seat… Thanks for chasing it off." Skye murmured nervously, a tad bit embarrassed.
"Anytime." Ben replied.
Meanwhile, Tuck and Ella rode in their car behind Tracker's jeep. "I hear something! It's the wing flapping of Mateo… and it's coming that way! Vamos, twins!" Tracker exclaimed, turning his jeep and heading towards the temple.
Tuck and Ella split their car into the duo motorcycle mode and followed their large eared friend. They managed to pursue Mateo to the temple ruins, and contacted the rest of the group to rendezvous with them there. Forty-five minutes later, Ryder, Ben, Carlos, Chase, Skye, Marshall, Rubble, Rocky, and Zuma met up with Tracker, Ella, and Tuck at the entrance to the ruins. "These old ruins are creepy… I feel like something's watching us." Marshall muttered worriedly, glancing around anxiously.
"Probably the monkeys that crowned Mandy queen. They're likely keeping an eye on us to make sure we don't steal anything." Ben mused.
"Yelp for help! Yelp for help!" A shrill voice shrieked.
Using the zoom function on his suit's visor, Ben was able to spot the red and blue feathered parrot perched on the rocky ledge of the temple's upper section. "There he is. We'll need someone to go up there and reach him." Ben pointed out.
"L-like me…?" Marshall whimpered, still unsettled by the creepy vibe of the temple.
Ben chuckled. "That's brave of you to offer, but we need someone that Mateo is more familiar with. I was going to nominate Tracker." Ben answered.
Marshall breathed a sigh of relief as he was told that he wasn't going to be climbing up the temple's walls. "¡No hay que preocuparse, Marshall! I got this. Cables!" Tracker reassured the dalmatian, before barking out his cables from his pup pack and traversing his way up to the temple ledge. "Come on, Mateo, you're rescued!" Tracker protested as the bird waddled away from him. Following him around the corner, Tracker saw Mateo sitting on an egg in a nest. Tracker's eyes widened as the parrot made itself comfortable on the egg. "¡Dios mío! Mateo is a señora, not a señor!" Tracker gasped.
"I guess I'll start calling her Matea now…" Carlos chuckled.
Tracker made his way down using his cables, and the group debated what to do next. "Since she's a mom now, Matea can't leave her nest until the egg hatches." Carlos noted.
"I'll stay up on the roof with her until her egg hatches!" Tracker volunteered. "We will too!" Tuck and Ella chimed in, wanting to spend more time with Tracker.
"I'll hang with you guys too. That eagle might try to take the egg." Ben commented.
That evening, Tracker, Ella, and Tuck swapped stories of rescues as they kept watch over Matea and her egg, while Ben and Carlos slept on the ledge. The next morning, they were woken up by the sound of the egg cracking. "Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, the egg is hatching!" Ella squeaked in excitement.
The adorable moment of life was brought to an end by the scream of the harpy eagle, who was circling around them in the air. Carlos was ready to catch the chick if it fell, while Ben, Tuck, Ella, Tracker, and the other pups (minus Skye, who was sticking with Carlos) were ready to fight. Ben drew his sword and twirled it around, slashing or stabbing at the eagle when it flew too close to Matea or the chick. Marshall shot his water cannons to repel the avian, Rocky used his catapult invention to toss pebbles at it, and Rubble threw rocks using the shovel in his pup pack. Tuck and Ella growled and barked at the eagle. "SHOO! SHOO!" The twins roared. However, the eagle wasn't deterred by their protectiveness.
Chase ran to the ladder and climbed down to his police cruiser, activating the drone and sending it to the eagle. Noticing the unfamiliar prey, the harpy eagle let out a snarl and started chasing after the drone. Chase recalled the drone once the eagle had lost interest and tired out. "Thanks for the help, PAW Patrol. Me and Tracker couldn't have done this without you." Carlos gratefully said.
"No problem. It was our pleasure. Besides, we needed a break from Adventure Bay." Ben responded.
"Whenever you're in jungle trouble, just yelp for help!" Tuck promised.
"Yeah! Remember that we're just a call away to help you save the day, Tracker!" Ella added. Everyone laughed and Ben gave some treats to everyone before they went back to the PAW Patroller to head home.
