I have been away for a long time now, haven't I? I'm sorry about that. A mixture of IRL issues, diminished interest, and uncertainty about how to continue left me uncertain about how to proceed. So had to take a lot of time to think about how I wanted to do this.
And I came to a decision that I'm sure not all of you will like, but that I think is for the best. I am going to rewrite this story.
There are a few reasons for this. The first is a chance to go back and fix a few things. Some have pointed out spelling mistakes to me in the past.
Another reason is to fix the flow and plot of the story. Since I had started this story as a bit of fun, I never gave much thought to having a flowing narrative of setting things up properly. With a rewrite, I could make the story feel more natural.
Another thing you may have all realized is that I could never figure out how or if I wanted to do a pairing in this story. I finally figured it out, but doing it now would seem out of place as one reviewer pointed out.
It would also give me a chance to write more about Jira as a little one. That was one of my favorite periods when writing the story, and there were some scenarios I could never write because I was too far past his childhood now. So rewriting is my best course of action.
But don't worry, I won't be just recycling this story and making you all sit through the same events again. I have plans for changes, big ones. Ones that will make more sense in the context of the world and for Jira's character.
Additionally, the first new chapter will be out soon. At the very latest, it will come out early next week. And while the first chapter will remain largely similar, things will spiral quickly after that. I'm looking forward to having it out.
To those disappointed about a rewrite, I am sorry. I just no longer felt that I could continue this story as it is.
I'll see you all next time!
