"Welcome to the Smoothie Clean." Noah dryly greeted as a customer approached. "May I take your order?"

"I'll take a strawberry smoothie!" The patron ordered.

"How original."

"And with extra ice!"

"Wow, way to spice it up." He snarked under his breath before turning around and repeating the order to Ella.

"Coming right up!" The princess called out. Some whirring was heard from the kitchen, and then she held the smoothie through the window. "One very cool smoothie!" She laughed at her own joke.

"Yeah, thanks, Frosty."

Noah then turned over to the customer. "Here you go."

"Can I get a straw with this?"

"We're all out."

"Could you check?"

There was about half a second of silence before Noah replied. "No."

The patron walked off with a bitter look on his face as another one arrived. This one was wearing a pink crop top that left her belly exposed, blue jeans, and pink shoes. She had blonde hair, too.

"Lemme guess, health nut." The bookworm started. "A granola bar?"

The customer ignored the rude remark. "I'll take a double triple muddy chocolate chip cherry swirl deluxe, blended on medium…" At that point, Noah stopped writing, but the customer didn't stop ordering. "...with whipped cream, 4 sprinkles, and a cherry on top."

"Yeah, uh, we serve drinks here, honey. Try ordering one of those."

As the customer glared, some whirring from a machine and spraying from a can was heard.

"No worries! I have it already." Ella assured from the kitchen, stepping out with it in her hand. She gasped in surprise as she saw the customer. "Oh, hello, Sugar!"

"Ella Whiton…" Sugar responded in a low tone. "I hear that you make a real fine smoothie."

"Oh, I'm happy you've heard! I-"

The princess was interrupted by the farmer. "I'll be the judge of that." She rudely declared as she swiped the smoothie out of Ella's hands.

"You mind paying?" Noah called out. Sugar ignored him, and prepared to drink her smoothie, sloshing it and licking the condensation on the side of the cup. After taking a drink, she wiped her mouth with the palm side of her hand.

"This seems rather fine." She complimented while adjusting her shoe. "Why thank you Su-" "But, you forgot my sprinkles."

Ella's excitement dwindled, sheer confusion taking its place. "What?"

"Ya heard me, no sprinkles, no payment." She ordered. "Oh, I'm so sorry, Sugar! I thought for sure I put them on!" The princess apologized, digging through the smoothie to be absolutely sure as Sugar chuckled tauntingly. "Ah, maybe they fell into the whipped cream or- ah, no, but I-I can remake it for you if you want! I didn't mean to make that mistake, honest!"

"Ya better nawt forget this time!" She barked.

"This is coming out of your paycheck, Ella." Chris informed sternly.

The songbird was then seen back in the kitchen. "Okay, no worries! I just need to take it a bit more slowly this time." She took extra care in getting everything on the smoothie this time, especially the sprinkles, and walked back out with the smoothie about three minutes later. "Sorry about the mistake earlier! I hope this one is better."

"Gimmie!" Sugar slurped her second smoothie after rudely grabbing it from the singer's hands. Unfortunately for the songbird, history seemed to repeat itself. The farmer repeated the same motions from before, though with her other shoe this time, and showed her the smoothie again. "You've had your chance! Still none of em! You lose."

Ella was now even more confused. "But I made absolutely sure I put them on!"

Sugar was already leaving, either ignoring or not hearing the singer. "Not sure enough." Chris reprimanded from behind her, making her sigh and look down sadly.

"Perhaps I was making it in the wrong order..?" The princess thought aloud as she re-entered the kitchen. "So if that's the case, then milk, then blend, then fruit- No, that wouldn't make sense…" She tried another process with a different cup. "The ice, then flavoring, then a cup inside? No…" She groaned. "I'm aware that I've made mistakes before, but I've always been certain that they were my fault… Both times, I was sure that the sprinkles were on there. This is quite confusing…"

Right then, Chris came into the room. Ella relayed her information to her boss.

"Why don't you take the rest of the day off then?" He suggested.

"Oh, well, what about the smoothies? I wouldn't want to make things hard on Noah…"

Chris decided to be blunt. "Dude, you're gonna be a liability if you stay here."

"Oh… Well, thank you for letting me recover then." The employee walked out of the kitchen and went to leave the building entirely. As she went to leave, she looked up. "Oh, goodness! The- The front door is missing!"

Chris was dead silent as he opened the door for her. "Oh. Ah, thank you." She left for a moment before popping her head back into the store. "Which way do I live?"

With a deadpan stare, her boss pointed to the left.

"Yes, of course! Thank you."

The princess was then seen outside of her apartment, thinking aloud. "Perhaps Christopher is right… I need to figure out how to make smoothies properly again." As she figured this, she bonked into her front door. "Oh, excuse me!" She apologized.

"Ah, which key did I need again?" She scratched her head and attempted to use a bat key that she had. Obviously, this did not work. "No, ah, hmm…"

After attempting literally everything, key or not, on her keychain, the princess found her way inside after about 30 minutes. "There we are! And yes, I am home Mittens, early!"

Mittens cocked his head in confusion, but he still purred as he rubbed himself on the girl's legs. She giggled. "My apologies, kitty, but I must figure out where I went wrong with that smoothie recipe!" She stated, determined.

Ella grabbed a pencil and a notepad, then sat down in a chair in her room to get to work. "Okay, so milk, strawberries..? Or was it a straw after the milk? Ah, no problem! I'll just have to start again." She decided, flipping a page. "Milk, ice, cup? Cup, mice, ilk? No, that's not it either… Perhaps something to do with a bucket? Ah…"

After a few hours of combinations, papers were littering Ella's room, and she had still made zero progress. Mittens was by her side the whole time. "My oh my, I'm confused… Perhaps a good sleep will help me. It is getting somewhat late, after all." She brought up, not realizing that she still hadn't eaten.

Ella managed to pull her nightgown out of the drawer on her first try, but then paused as she looked down to her day clothes. "Wait, but how do I do that again? Ah…" She paced around in thought and accidentally got her blouse snagged on the edge of her bed. "Oh, that's right!" She lowered herself down to the floor until she slipped out of her blouse. After, she stood up again and messed with her skirt, pulling it up, right, and left, but none worked. She pulled to the left again, this time a lot harder, and ended up essentially pantsing herself and getting it down anyways. She forgot about her bow entirely.

"There we are! But wait, how do I wear this again?" Ella questioned as she looked at her nightgown. "Like this?" She put it on her head like a hat, which quickly fell off. "Um, no, but what if…" She then tried to put her head through one of the arm holes, but it didn't go in very far. The songbird took a breath as she took her head back out.

After, she attempted to put the pajamas on headfirst… starting from the head hole. "I don't think this is going to work." She commented as they were stuck around her neck.

Removing the improperly worn garment once again, Ella looked down. "Well, plenty of people sleep in just their undergarments, right? No shame about that!" She decided with a shrug as she approached her bed. As she did so, she proceeded to trip over her skirt that she failed to step out of and landed on the floor.

"Oof!" She grunted before standing up. "Oh, that's right." She dusted herself off. "Now, ah, how do I sleep again?"

The princess looked around the room and saw Mittens on top of her dresser, sleeping.

"Oh, that's right! I just need to curl up somewhere and sleep!" She laid on the ground where she was, curled up like a ball, only to open her eyes again with a frown. "But don't people sleep in beds?"

A montage of Ella trying different positions was then shown. She tried sleeping under the bed, on top of the blanket, with her head under her pillow, and many other positions until morning, when her alarm went off.

"Oh, I'm sure I would've had it with more time!" The songbird lamented. She was trying to sleep with her head opposite to the pillow with her arms crossed over her chest. She got up.

Her alarm continued beeping, making Ella stare at it in confusion. "Um…" The bird chirping got louder and louder the longer she stared. Suddenly, her cat jumped up on it and managed to turn it off for her.

"Oh! Thank you, Mittens."

The camera then switched over to show Noah at the Smoothie Clean doing his daily duties.

"Drinks are done." He flatly claimed as he passed them out to three customers.

"My drink is runnier than the Amazon River!" One customer complained.

"Mine's frozen solid!" Another added.

"He burnt my milkshake!" A third one angrily said.

The patrons all angrily protested. "Wait, no! Oh, this'll lower the restaurant's ratings for sure! I've gotta get Ella back." Chris declared before the scene switched. He was now just outside of Ella's apartment room, which had a stuffed teddy bear nailed to it.

"Ella?" He called out. Getting no answer, he opened the door himself.

"Ella?" Chris repeated, a little louder, before looking around the place.

Despite Ella's usual cleanliness and picked up-after self, her apartment could only be described as a complete disaster. Even calling it that would be being nice. Her television, chairs, and paintings were all upside down, some of them backwards, and her furniture was nailed to the wall to get it to stay stable. Various other things were misplaced, and the floor was covered in garbage. There was no telling how bad the rest of her house looked, let alone how Ella managed to do anything that morning without help.

The worst of it all was the songbird herself. She was absolutely covered in various fruits, chocolate chips, various other smoothie ingredients, and, fittingly, sprinkles were the most prominent, likely from trying to re-learn the recipe. She smelled like milk, her clothes were on backwards, a pair of panties was on her head, and her shoes were on the wrong feet. Chris could only cringe and say "eesh, dude…" at the sight.

"Oh, Chris. How high are you?" She uncharacteristically sadly greeted as she approached.

"What?" Her boss tugged at his collar nervously before realizing that Ella only misspoke. "Oh. Why are you talking so funny, dude?" He asked as he removed the underwear from the princess's head.

"My brain fried because sprinkles… Confuses everything me."

"Aww, c'mon! You know those recipes by heart. You've studied them for fun so many times." Chris assured.

"I no think am ready to work return…"

"I'm sure you're fine! It's just one customer! You can… uh, get dressed just fine!"

Ella then walked through the closed door to her small kitchen, breaking it, and casually started nailing a piece of bread to the counter.

"Uh… maybe not…" Chris realized, tugging on his collar again. He followed her into the kitchen. "All we have to do is get your confidence back up! For the ratings! I-I mean, happy customers!"

"I will how do that?" Ella asked.

"It's like riding the bike you always ride to work! You never forget." The two then noticed the bike in a pot on the stove, which was thankfully not turned on. "Uh… I guess I can help you!"

The two were then back in Ella's living room. A mat was laid out that had some of the necessary ingredients and one or two machines plugged in near the wall, though not too many of the ingredients to make sure they stayed fresh for use.

"I'm not sure if I…" Ella began before stopping herself, instead looking at the components with a puzzled look on her face. She picked up a prepared kiwi, making Chris gasp in anticipation. The songbird quickly put it back down, however.

Day turned to night, then back to day once more. Ella scratched her head as she looked at the items in front of her. Another day passed, making Chris fall asleep. After a third day came and went, the princess finally said something.

"I've finally figured it out!" She declared, awakening her boss.

"You have?"

"Yes! I've finally figured out that-" She suddenly burst into tears, sobbing into her hands. "-I don't understand how to make a single smoothie anymore! I can't even put two kiwis, a sliced banana, frozen pineapple, and Greek yogurt, blend it, and cover it with these little sprinkles!" She listed, doing the actions as she mentioned them.

Ella then realized what she did through her tear-stained eyes, making Chris smirk.

"It's time." He announced.

Ella and Chris were then shown back at the Smoothie Clean, with the former being all cleaned up and properly dressed now. The singer walked into the kitchen, making Noah walk out as a fire extinguisher was heard being used.

"Hey, Ella's back!" A customer called through the window.

Sugar then entered the place, rudely shoving others out of her way as she went up to the register. "I hear little Ella's back around here."

"Right here!" The girl in question replied back.

"I thought you got ran outta town. Shoulda stayed out."

"Well, I believe that I belong here." The princess replied as nicely as she could, which didn't seem to be taken that way, going by the crowd's gasp.

"Gimme the regular. You know what you gotta remember this time."

"On it!"

Ella then went to make the order and stepped out not long after with the smoothie. Chris was sweating nervously as it was handed over. Sugar did her usual actions with the cup a third time and then showed the drink to the group. "Still no sprinkles! See?" She yelled, showing her tongue to everyone else, revealing some chewed up food on her tongue, grossing everyone out.

"Ew!" Everyone but Ella collectively groaned as the songbird sighed and looked to the floor.

"You lose again, Ella Wimp-ton!" Sugar laughed tauntingly until Ella noticed something. One of the farmer's shoes was loose. As she guffawed, the loose shoe got kicked off and landed in the middle of the floor, which the singer picked up.

"Pardon me, everyone, but there are sprinkles in her shoe." She calmly pointed out, angering the audience.

"And there are some from one of the last times, too!" Chris realized.

"And there are my car keys!" A patron called out.

"And… that's my cue to leave!" Sugar added, not even trying to look for an excuse as she ran out of the restaurant.

"Three cheers for the one who keeps our ratings high!" Chris bluntly started. "Hip hip!"

"Hooray!" Everybody but Noah and Ella herself continued.

"Hip hip!"

"Hooray!"

"Hip hip!"

"Hooray!"

"And three cheers for the one who took my place while I was gone!" Ella began, making Noah roll his eyes. "Hip hip!"

"Boo!" The customers carried on.

Ella didn't seem that bothered. "Hip hip!"

"Boo!"

"Hip hip!"

"Boo, you stink!" One particularly angry patron finished.

A/N: Pretty easy story, even if it's a bit longer than most chapters. The additional scene with Ella not knowing how to put pajamas on was just again to be more similar to canon. In other words, so she'd be sleeping in her underwear. Hope you enjoyed the chapter!
