"Ready, Jenny?" Beth asked me. I paused. I will admit I was nervous, but it was a gleeful kind of nervous. We'd all been looking forward to this for months now.
Constructing the Vall'kcor'sta clan's new settlement had set our dates back by a few months, but we were glad to do this for them. The other clans had refused to help, but we were happy to do this for Ch'ris and Rachelle. They were a part of our family, and we'd look out for them. That was what families were suppose to do.
"I'm ready." I told her with a smile. It was time. She took my arm in hers and began to lead me forward.
Jon gave a bright smile as he saw us come down the aisle. He took my hands in his as Hadrick began the procession. I could see loving the look in his multicolored eyes as his father asked us if we would live happily ever after together. There was no hesitation.
From that moment on we would be together forever. We would make it through whatever challenge came our way, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health. We would love and cherish each other from now to the end of time and even after. Our love for each other would never grow old, it would never fail, it would never die. We would carry it with us through this world, and into the next life, and beyond. Only our love for God and our Savior who blessed us with each other would be stronger.
After we made our vows to love each other for all of time and eternity, we kissed.
"I love you, Jenny." Jon told me as he held me close to him.
"I love you too, Jon." I replied.

We returned to the facility shortly afterward. Jon had been recommended for a promotion and was going to be awarded the medal of honor for his remarkable citizenship. He wasn't very fond of the idea himself, although he'd worked too hard to decline it. We met with Hadrick and a group of other marines outside the compound.
"Marine to be promoted, center, arch!" One of the marines called out.
Jon appeared from behind the squad of marines, and respectfully approached Hadrick. They gave each other a deferent salute. The marine continued to read the procession, assigning his responsibilities and duties he was to preform. Afterwards he was given the medals to signify his rank and bravery.
After the sequence was finished, we made our way towards a deep hole that the marines had dug out. One of them came forward with Zell-oah's skull and spine. Jon took his trophy and tossed it in the pit, before dumping a gallon of gasoline in with it which he promptly lit it on fire. Jon clicked his mandibles in angry satisfaction as he watched it burn. After that he ordered the marines to fill the hole. Promise made, promise kept.
Once the ceremony was finished we moved inside. We approached the room that Jon had been kept in when he was a child. He approached the place with reverence. It was so disappointing to know my father had kept Jon and his mother in this cage for seven whole years. At the same time it was so heartwarming to see how far my love had come since then. After taking in the sight of the room we looked down at two newly graves that had been dug in the room. One was for Jon's mother, and the other for Beo'n. He knelt down, placing the cremated skull of his brother, and his mother's broken bio-mask down in their resting places, before filling them.
After doing so Jon looked up at something, and gave a tearful smile. I couldn't see what it was he saw, but I had a feeling that someone was there in the room with us. I heard Jon whisper something. I couldn't hear it correctly, but from what I could make out, I guessed he was saying, "I love you."
"Let's go, Pyode." He said.
We met Ch'ris, Rachelle, Sa-v'ar and the rest of their clan outside. The clan bowed to us when they saw us, which he returned. We turned towards Ch'ris and Rachelle, they were carrying their new born pups. Felicity, their daughter was playing with her father's lower mandibles. We gave a heart felt laugh when we saw them. They came with us to look at their newly built settlement. I couldn't help but fell proud by the outcome.
We continued towards a small clearing. There was a sharp drop off in the clearing that we sat on. We stayed there and watched peacefully as the sun began to set over the horizon...
Little Wonders by Rob Thomas
Let it go.
Let it roll right off your shoulder,
Don't you know?
The hardest part is over.
Let it in,
Let your clarity define you in the end.
We will only just remember how it feels.
Our lives are made in these small hours,
These little wonders,
These twists and turns of fate.
Time falls away, but these small hours,
These small hours, still remain.
Let it slide.
Let your troubles fall behind you.
Let it shine,
'Til you feel it all around you,
And I don't mind, if it's me you need to turn to,
We'll get by
It's the heart that really matters in the end.
Our lives are made in these small hours,
These little wonders,
These twists and turns of fate.
Time falls away, but these small hours,
These small hours, still remain.
All of my regret will wash away somehow,
But I cannot forget the way I fell right now...
In these small hours,
These little wonders,
These twists and turns of fate.
Yeah, these twists and turns of fate.
Time falls away,
Yeah, but these small hours,
And these small hours, still remain. (Yeah)
Oh, they still remain.
These little wonders,
Oh, these twists and turns of fate.
Time falls away,
But thses small hours,
These little wonders, still remain...
