CHAPTER 37 – A NIGHT BALL
Day 6 of the Ethereal Moon. | Morning.
It's been few days since the Black Eagles saved the villagers and met the Flame Emperor in the Remire incident. Claude had been secretly investigating the stuff that the church, or more like, the system doesn't want to come out to light.
Edelgard had been debating herself if she should tell the truth about what she and Monica had argued day before, knowing that this would put hers and her group's trust at risk of getting destroyed, especially Sora's.
Dimitri had been struggling to be in a good state because of the "ghosts" that had been haunting him since a very long time when he first saw the ugliest atrocities in Duscur before he enrolled in the Garreg Mach.
Roxas had been witnessing his disturbing behavior since he entered the Black Eagles team and he came to realize about what Terra meant. The future king of Faerghus seemed to go through the same path as he did… the path to darkness.
There had to be something to prevent this from happening, but this will be a difficult task to put Dimitri on the right track and he knew that very well.
At this morning, Byleth went to the audience chamber after being called on by Rhea to meet with her and Seteth. An employees' typical and boring routine nonetheless.
"Morning, Rhea. Do you need something?" Byleth greeted her.
"We are planning a grand ball for this month. I am sure your students will be most pleased." The archbishop notified the news about a sort of party they are having… A party she said?
"A Ball?" Byleth said out of surprise, she never had heard of anything alike until now.
"Yes, certainly." Seteth affirmed her question, but he went direct on what he had to say to her next. "However, we must not devote all of our time to frivolity. We have a new mission for you."
"Something's up?" Byleth asked.
"We have found evidence of someone sneaking into an unused chapel." Seteth explained her next mission.
"It is a building that was once a temporary sanctuary at a time when the monastery was under renovation." Rhea said.
"This month, your class is tasked with guarding the chapel and investigating these intruders." Seteth indicated the new job that her class was to do at this time. "With the recent state of affairs surrounding the holy church, we cannot afford to overlook any abnormality, no matter how seemingly trivial.
"I am ordering a seasoned knight to assist you to ensure the safety of the students. In times like these, I am afraid we must always expect the worst." Rhea stated saying that she would send somebody to watch over them.
"Which knight?" Byleth asked when Jeralt appeared before them, much to her surprise. "Fa-Father?!"
"Reporting for duty, Lady Rhea." he stepped in reporting himself in.
"I thought you two could use the time to bond. And to speak of important matters…" Rhea gave them a good impression of the two as a father-daughter.
"Appreciate the thought." Jeralt acknowledged her words.
"Bear in mind that Jeralt has a separate mission on his own." Seteth gave them a catch, he had a mission to deal with on his own instead of aiding her daughter and students. "He will join you once he has finished it."
"It's true, Byleth. I'll be away from the monastery for a while." Jeralt affirmed her. "But when I return… I'll come and watch your work. I'll be looking forward to it."
"Thank you, father." Byleth thanked him.
With that, Byleth and Jeralt left the place to start their routine.
Black Eagle classroom | Afternoon.
After the class had finished, Byleth proceed to tell everybody about what they all were about to do this whole month.
"So, we basically should basically check on that chapel to make sure everything is fine, right?" Marianne asked as she raised her hand.
"Yes, there's been rumors that there's some intruders sneaking into there, Marianne." Byleth answered her question, just before turning to the class. "That's why we have to patrol the place to find out if there are intruders. Besides, my father will oversee our job when he comes back from his mission. Yes, Sora?"
"I have no doubt that the heartless, nobodies or even the unversed could be behind that. Or what if it is Xehanort's doing?" the spiky hair boy voiced his theory after raising his hand.
"Good grief, no doubt he's capable of anything, so we have to watch our backs when we head to the chapel should we ever come to face him." Byleth gave them instructions advising her class to watch out should they meet with him unexpectedly.
"No doubt Solon could ally himself with Xehanort and have them do such dirty plays." Celica said coinciding with their theory. They shouldn't be distracted and be caught in surprise by them at all.
"No doubt about it, and just between us, looks like Rhea has been acting so strange, I don't know why but I'm getting bad feeling about her… Anyways, I also wanted to tell you that we are gonna have a night ball this month." Byleth continued speaking as she gave them some more news surprising her students, especially Sora.
"A night ball? This means…" he spoke expressing enthusiasm over the news, he was really hyped.
"Yes… basically we are going to have an elegant night where everyone goes gets a partner to have a waltz together." Edelgard replied giving him a simple explanation.
"A waltz… I have never had one in my life." Sora stated admitting not having experienced such thing before.
"You never had one?" Ferdinand spoke in amusement, just like everyone else, except for Roxas, who also in the same position as his friend. "I think you should learn how to make a decent waltz!"
"That's right! You must learn how to invite somebody to dance with you! That way, you're gonna show 'em who's the boss!" Caspar said cheering him to learn and master some new "old medieval" manners.
Not only he had to deal with some medieval culture stuff like having to behave like a noble and lack of modern technology, but he… he had to also to go to a night ball to invite some random girl to dance with him? That would be a huge problem for Sora if there were crazy girls going nuts and fighting for him.
"That sounds good, Caspar!" Sora replied eagerly. He was more than ready to make learn and master the waltz techniques. "I will do it."
"That's the spirit, Sora!" Dorothea praised him for expressing his will. "I'm sure you're gonna have fun having a very good streak in the night ball, that same goes for you, Roxas. You sure have a great potential to become an expert waltz dancer too.
"Th-thanks." Roxas laughed feeling blushed by her classmate's compliment.
"Come on, we can show the others what we are capable of not only in the battlefield, but also in the waltz." Celica also cheered him to do the same as Sora.
Aside of having to do a lot of side class assignments while dealing a lot of heartless and the other dark creatures as the time passed and the said night ball was getting closer, Sora was in a courtyard near his classroom with Edelgard, who was teaching him how to dance before the ball. At first, Sora was messing up and clumsy with the moveset aside of not following Edelgard's rhythm correctly, but he didn't care because after a long time, he showed signs of improving his skills and started keeping up with his partner's waltz rhythm, much to Edelgard's surprise and smile.
Alongside them, Roxas and Celica were also training their waltz skills as well in order to have the greatest night of their lives.
"That's it, you're good." The future ruler of Adrestia praised him after watching his classmate improve after struggling for a very long time. "You are improving a lot than I thought, Sora."
"Right? I wanna have a great time tonight, that's my greatest motivation, Edelgard." Sora explained his reasons, making her feel slightly blushed.
"I can see that, let's practice some more, shall we?" Edelgard replied trying to hide her blushness and play tough but it was near impossible due to having the keyblade wielder near her, practicing the waltz together.
It was a matter of time before she had to reveal him everything, her reasons, everything, even thou this could break their friendship and make her lose her precious people she cared about.
She wasn't able to trust people, she just couldn't… But that changed when Sora arrived in Garreg Mach. It was the first time Edelgard felt that the ice that had been covering her heart started to crack, she wanted to be free, she wanted not to be known as the ruler of Adrestia precisely, only Edelgard who longed to laugh, get angry, cry, smile… just like everyone else
But it was not the moment for her to worry about it, for now she had to distract herself and enjoy few days she had left with the most precious treasure she had right in front of her eyes.
NIGHT BEFORE THE BALL – Dimitri's room.
While everyone else was asleep, Dimitri was struggling to sleep due to something really disturbing going on throughout his mind and ears… he was gritting his teeth as he tried to let it go, but it was hard, very hard for him to do so.
"Kill… Kill the person who murdered us… The Hresvelgs were the ones who murder us…" said one of the voices who continued tormenting him further.
"No…! Why her?! She can't…!" he said in horror trying to push them those creepy voices off but it was in vain.
"Avenge us… Take revenge on that bastard child of your late mother in-law! She's the one who massacred us!"
Dimitri rolled around his bed trying to brush the voices off his head unsuccessfully, unbeknownst to him, his heart was slowly being filled with darkness, much to Young Xehanort's smile… he was about to have his new vessel, he just had to wait for a correct time to manipulate him, just like his other me did with Terra.
"That's it, embrace the evil darkness you are about to wake." Young Xehanort laughed with a creepy smile enjoying the future ruler of Faerghus's angsty behavior.
That wouldn't sound good at all for Sora and his friends once they found the prince like that…
Day of the waltz | Noon. - Cafeteria
The day that everybody was waiting arrived, it was the day where everyone would finally get to have the greatest moment of their lives tonight. Sora couldn't be more anymore hyped than everyone else.
"So this is the day we are gonna go to the ball tonight, right?" Roxas asked out of curiosity.
"Of course! This is when we all are going to have our best moments in a lifetime! We hope we are ready for this.!" Ferdinand said out of joking gimmicking a noble-like behavior.
"We had been practicing for days we should be good." The keyblade wielder showing everyone that he was all set for the event.
"All of you seem eager for the ball aren't you?" Byleth smiled at their enthusiasm. "We have been fighting the heartless and more monsters for a long time that we do deserve a break and have fun for once."
"Of course, we do deserve ourselves a break after not only studying but going through every combat we have been assigned to." Edelgard agreed with her teacher.
"Well, we have to be ready for tonight… no wonder every girl will want to have a waltz with either Sora, Roxas and the others." Dorothea laughed joking, but on the other hand, she was half right about it. The girls had been looking over him for a long while, and Roxas also found himself in the same situation.
"Oh come on, it's very unlikely that girls would swarm 'em easily." Caspar said denying the possibility.
"You never know." Petra replied making him see that there could be girls thinking about something to drag the boys.
"And so the men could be wanting to have a piece of waltz with you girls." Sora said thinking about that possible income.
"They could." Edelgard seconded before she turned to him. "But they don't know whom I'm willing to have a waltz with…"
"Oh, so you already have decided whom you are to have a dance with." Hubert gave her a compliment about her quick choice.
"Uh… It's because I want to have the best match and enjoy the night ball, that's it." Edelgard tried to hide her true reasons but her blush could tell something else.
"Yeah… that's right." Sora also tried to cover up the embarrassment laughing nervously in the same manner as her classmate.
"Yeah, too right, Sora." Sylvain spoke comprehending what had been going on between them, he could tell he figured out their incredible chemistry between them.
Everyone laughed chilling out eating the food they were given in order to be ready for the upcoming event they would all enjoy.
Roxas however, came to notice Dimitri's questionable, but quite creepy glare at them, but more precisely towards Edelgard, like she had to done a horrible thing to him and he wanted her head.
"Everything okay?" Celica asked in low voice.
"Dimitri… have you seen what's wrong on his face?" he replied out of concern, before asking her too about that unusual behavior of the prince of Faerghus.
"Now that you mention it… He seems to be extremely quiet but shows unusual behavior when he glares at Edelgard with such… how can I say it… murderous tendencies…" Celica mentioned him what she has seen in the blonde boy throughout her time she's been in the academy.
"I think I begin to understand why I felt that tremendous power running within Dimitri's veins back when I faced him during the battle of the eagle and the lion event." Roxas remarked recalling his battle against Dimitri in the event. "I have never thought that he would have such power, a destructive power. Maybe is it because he holds a crest or something like that?"
"For what I have heard from people here, maybe." Celica nodded.
"I guess so, anyways. Let's not let this subject make sink our enthusiasm." Roxas suggested to forget about it for now.
Black Eagle Classroom | Evening.
The whole Black Eagle gang met in the classroom to talk about their incoming party and overall, ease the nervousness between everyone, especially Bernadetta, who was more like this than everyone else.
"Come on, Bernadetta, you need to relax." Celica said as she was massaging her shoulders calming her down.
"Bu-but, I don't like to be with a lot of people, you know?" Bernadetta was skeptical and wanting to refuse to go with them.
"You can sit with us, so you can chill down." Celica suggested to sit with them and not with anyone she didn't know.
"O-okay… just because I can trust you all." Bernadetta accepted as she relaxed herself. "Fine, I'm ready."
"The ball will begin in an hour. I have no worthwhile memories of such events, yet I'm still forward this one." Edelgard spoke expressing her will to have the best experience of her life among the others.
"As am I, in the sense that I look forward to destroying all of the unworthy suitors who will swarm Lady Edelgard." Hubert said showing determination to protect his lady from any threat who could mess with them, if that's what he intended to do of course.
"I will admit, Edelgard is adorable. However, when it comes to elegance on the dance floor, I am superior!" Ferdinand boasted in an exaggerated tone, he really seemed his classmate as his rival to beat somewhat.
"You're not a bad dancer, Ferdie. But you do have some moves that are… hard to watch." Dorothea pointed him out his weakness as a dancer, he lacked some of cool and tactical dancing move set.
"Your honor me with your kind words!" Ferdinand kept boasting his 'glory', which could cringe more than one person. "I understand that I am sometimes too dazzling to behold directly."
"I barely had experience in a dancing because I never have had a chance put myself in situations like this until I came here, it cost me a lot of blood and sweat to master my waltz movements." Sora said remembering the struggle he went through with Edelgard whose eyes he looked to.
"You were messing up a lot when we first began training every day, but then you somewhat began to understand and master your moves. I have to say that I was surprised that you seemed to become a professional waltz dancer few days later, you don't know when to quit, do you?" Edelgard said remembering THAT moment when she saw his friend improve. "Be careful with some girls who would want to become your suitors." She joked.
"Looks like I'm on their radar, am I not?" Sora replied laughing between teeth.
"She's right." Sylvain followed along. "You are really making yourself a big name here."
"I'm envious of your positive attitude. I also know how to dance… in theory. Maybe I should participate as well." Linhardt spoke wanting to take part of the ball as well.
"I wanna have the greatest night with you guys." Byleth expressed her wish to take part of the ball too, just like everyone else.
"Likewise." Roxas agreed.
"Speaking of the ball, do we have get to pick who we dance with? I wonder who I should ask…" Caspar remembered suddenly that everyone had to pick someone to dance with.
"A bold subject change. Should Lady Edelgard wish it, I'm pretty sure she already has somebody to dance with." Hubert said as he turned to Sora, having the idea that his lady had already someone to dance with…
"I will fight with all that I have within me!" Petra said without speaking good English like always.
"Fighting? No, that's not really the point…" Dorothea tried to correct her.
"I will not be as a fish upon the flame!" Petra spoke as she could.
"Oh man…" Dorothea bow her head in embarrassment, her friend was confusing a lot of things when it came to speak.
"I have a proposition. Let's all agree to meet back at the monastery exactly five years from today." Edelgard proposed her classmates for a reunion that would take place in a long time.
"Do you want to make a class reunion? That sounds great, Edelgard." Byleth said liking the idea, a class reunion would be a beautiful thing that most alumni experience.
"Five years from today will be the millennium festival for Garreg Mach Monastery." Hubert stated the upcoming event that would take place in the future. "I've heard the magnitude of the festivities will exceed all prior years."
"Ooh, how exciting! Sounds like a great excuse to come visit our dear professor." Dorothea was excited about wanting to visit her.
"You will be seeing how much growing I have done." Petra said in the same manner with a smile on her face. "You will be pleased, Professor. This idea is good."
"Who knows where each of us will be in five years' time…or who will we become." Edelgard spoke to them being aware of everyone's absence. "Still, I have faith that all of us will gather and celebrate our reunion."
"That's assuming the professor is still here in five years…and not enjoying cozy early retirement." Linhardt knew how hard would be for Byleth without her students she had been teaching.
"Even if that's the case, you will come, won't you? Whether or not you're still teaching here…" Edelgard asked her teacher.
"Of course, I will come here." Byleth answered her with a smile.
"Don't forget, my teacher. Even if the millennium festival should be canceled, I promise to return here…" Edelgard stated her future plans, she wished to meet with her friends she'd make in the academy.
"That's right, anyways… let's get ready. Lots of people are waiting for us, shall we?" Byleth asked them to prepare themselves and they all nodded with their heads as they left the room for the said party.
Ballroom | Evening.
[Fire Emblem: Three Houses BGM: The Night of the Ball]
At last, the moment that everybody was waiting had arrived and the students were having a conversation in their respective tables between each other.
Most girls were waiting for Sora's and Roxas's arrival, while the guys were waiting for Byleth.
"Sora's taking so long, don't you all think?" Leonie said in a rather thoughtful mood.
"I guess he's just taking his time to get ready to come here." Claude made a comment casually.
"If that cocky jerkass doesn't come out here, then I'll be the first one to invite the professor." Lorenz joked with such an exaggerated voice showcasing his typical arrogant attitude.
"Well… I hate bear the bad news but look…" Claude pointed out at the entrance.
What everyone just witnessed were left stunned. The whole Black Eagle gang made their entrance in a slow-motion.
Most girls were left speechless and overwhelmed by the presence of the keyblade wielders, while the boys were going through the same thing with Byleth.
"There's too many people staring at us." Sora whispered nerviously.
"You have made yourself a big name here, after all." Sylvain teased him in a funny voice, even thou he received a little elbow on that zone from Dorothea, who asked him to calm down with an intimidating glare. "Ooops, sorry."
Sora and the others headed to their table and sat down to ease their nerves about stepping into the dance floor for the first time.
"Sora, I know that you have never participated in a dance like that, but you have been diligent with your training. This is your chance to show them who's the boss." Ferdinand encouraged him to put his new mastered waltz moves to the test.
"You have had a good teacher; you can do it." Dorothea did the same in a suggestive manner.
Sora was certainly nervous due to a huge amount of people sitting in the ballroom, especially because of some girls who were quite crazy for him and willing to create a huge mess in order to get to have a waltz from him.
The keyblade wielder wouldn't mind picking someone as Dorothea, Petra, Ingrid, Mercedes, Annette, Edelgard, and why not? His own professor Byleth.
But to grand to various opportunist girls a piece of waltz? That was off-limits.
"I'm surprised you decided to take a huge risk, Sora." Said Claude praising him for his brave actions.
"I couldn't let people tag me as a coward, could I?" the spiky brown-haired guy explained his reasons.
"Right? Well, then I suggested you to be ready because everyone is gonna dance and you must pick someone to have a waltz immediately." Claude reminded him to take action quickly before he was all alone.
"Oh bollocks! Thank you for reminding me, Claude!" Sora admitted not remembering THAT statement from Caspar, he had to hurry up and get someone to have a waltz with.
Effectively, there were people that went straight to the dance floor with their respective partners, Roxas was having his moment with Celica, Byleth was being picked by Claude and having their moment together.
It was at this moment when Sora gained the courage he needed and did the unthinkable thing…
"Lady Edelgard… may I have the pleasure of this waltz?" Sora asked her out in an unusually formal voice. Much to her surprise and everyone else's, but this made her a smile at him.
"Yes." Edelgard accepted as the two went on to have their moment together… Sylvain, who had been dancing with Ingrid, smirked and gave thumbs up to the couple, looks like his teaching skills really paid off.
It was unusual that someone who didn't belong to the nobility, especially that behavior which Sora had been bearing, even thou he had been assimilating the medieval mentality for a long time now.
The couple left many people speechless as the two began making slow circle movements while holding their hands together.
[CHANGE OF SONG] [KINGDOM HEARTS 1.5 ReMIX BGM: Dearly Beloved]
Sora had been going through his newest experience on what a couple waltz was like, at first, he wasn't expecting to be feel comfortable with someone like Edelgard, who was in the same status as him. But due to their bond they were building together, the couple began have a trust between each other.
They look at each other's eyes… Edelgard was looking at Sora not only as her classmate and friend precisely… but a man whom she would trust her life between inside and outside of the battlefield.
Lots of girls were dazzled and stunned at the way that the two were having their waltz together, it was magisterial and elegant for most people like Claude, who winked at them in such a funny but praising expression for them. Even thou there were some people who were envious due to not being lucky as them.
Then the couple imagined themselves having the beautiful waltz in the ballroom inside of Disney Castle having not only the presence from the whole Black Eagle house but Sora's friends, having the same waltz together.
"You have improved your dance movements… your skills are remarkable." Edelgard gave his skills an approval. "Looks like my teachings were really paid off."
"I wasn't willing to sit down and do nothing at all, Edelgard. That's why I wanted to get better." Sora replied in a happy manner.
"So that's why. I'm glad you are having fun, Sora." Edelgard said understanding his reasons as the two unconsciously cut down their distance between each other and they grazed their lips and felt a sort of spark within them. And they came to kiss each other by accident but it felt so nice and tender.
[End of the song]
Their hearts were beating at a fast rate right after feeling the contact, they both felt blood run through their cheeks but that didn't stop them from performing such elegant waltz together.
Back to the reality, everybody was surprised by the aura that both were carrying, Claude was open-mouthed in surprise because of their excellent chemistry between the two.
"This guy made me proud…" Claude thought giving him a praise, he really had balls to do something like that.
Sora and Edelgard had their lips separated and at this moment, a bunch of students swarmed to them asking both to be their next waltz partner, which they refused.
They had to get away as soon as possible due to the room being filled with bunch of people getting to the dance floor and wanting to pick them by force.
"Sora! Edelgard! Go! We'll hold these guys!" Byleth told them to run away as she and the others managed to hold the students up.
MONASTERY COURTYARD | Nighttime.
Sora and Edelgard had managed to avoid as much students as they could by reaching to some calm place like the courtyard.
"Well… I think we lost them." Edelgard panted after running a lot.
"People is very crazy… At least Byleth and the others helped us to hold them up." Sora said the same way.
"Running away, Sora?" Sothis spoke in a teasing tone.
"Too many people were swarming on us so we had to flee as soon as possible." Sora replied explaining the whole problem.
"I understand. You and your dear friend Edelgard hardly had the time to breathe in there. You two looked very cool performing THAT waltz." Sothis laughed remarking their greatest moment of the ball. "It must be hard to be the favorite student at the ball! Poor, poor student!"
"That's right… It's quite difficult being the most popular guy in the school." Sora acknowledged her words without getting upset, she was right on telling these words she said to him.
"Let me guess, you really think you and the future ruler you are with are the favorite ones. I'm calling it. But where is there to run? This place is filled with joyful students looking for a dance." Sothis kept teasing them, just before the future ruler of Adrestia tap the keyblade wielder's head to wake him up.
"Sora! Are you okay? You've been spacing out." Edelgard called him out.
"Oh… I'm sorry. I had a lot of things in my head." Sora apologized. "Anyway, how about we go to the Goddess Tower?"
"Yeah, sure. Let's go" Edelgard accepted and the two headed to the said tower.
The Goddess Tower | Nighttime.
Sora and Edelgard headed upstairs to the top of the tower evading every student to have a more privacy and avoid harassments.
"Well, no one's here. We're clear." Sora said after making sure there was no one in there.
"Good, it's just you and me, Sora." Edelgard seconded feeling fortunate. "I think it's a good time to have a conversation between us.
"Between us?" the spiky brown-haired guy asked out of curiosity.
Both of them cut down their distance slowly getting closer while making themselves blush to each other.
"I… I want to confess that since you came here, I began going through a lot of changes showing up my emotions, I used to be cold to everyone but you did something to have the ice that had been trapping my heart begin to crumble. Every day I have been feeling my heart becomes warmer and a half of me is screaming for freedom, Sora. It was you who woke up my other half. My other me who had been sleeping for a long time since I came here." Edelgard began confessing her feelings as she joined her hands with his classmate's.
"I did? Well, you have made me have a very good time here for a very long time, you are my best partner I have ever met, Edelgard." Sora declared praising her friend for her behavior with a smile on his face. "I have learned a lot from you, despite I'm clumsy in many other school subjects. But the point is that if you ever need something, you can always count on me."
"Sora…" Edelgard was rather surprised by his honest statement. "Listen, that kiss we gave ourselves… I-I liked it."
"Di-did you like it?" I… I wanted to apologize to you about that… It wasn't my intention to make you uncomfortable at the ballroom, Edelgard." Sora stuttered acknowledging his mistake feeling his cheeks turn red.
"No, no, Sora. This is not your fault, alright? It just happened." Edelgard comforted him placing a hand on his cheek with a warm smile. "Didn't you feel the same when we danced the waltz?"
"To tell the truth, yes. To be a first timer, you have beautiful lips." Sora commented this making her blush.
"Nobody has never told me this in my life." Edelgard said out of surprise and amaze about her classmate's words. "You are the first person who tells me this, Sora. Hey, do you want to kiss me again?"
"Wha-What?!" Sora gasped after hearing that daring offer. "Look, we are from different social classes. I'm not part of the nobility, but you are."
"I don't care. We are all gonna graduate soon and it's possible that we may not see each other for a long time, so you have to take advantage of the opportunity now." Edelgard made him see that there was no chance to waste. It was now or never.
Sora felt his heart beat by one thousand per hour right after hearing her offer, didn't think twice and joined his lips onto her girl, who kissed him back.
Without anyone at sight, Sora and Edelgard enjoyed kissing and caressing each other without hesitation until the two finally separated their lips to recover some air.
"I have never told you this when we first met… But I like you." Edelgard brought out his confession surprising him! "You're a daring warrior but aside of that, a man who wears good feelings."
"Edelgard… I…" Sora thought carefully about words he had to use... "I like you too, not only as a classmate of mines, but as a woman. You are a capable warrior, but also a good person. This is the reason I have strived to do good in my classes."
"That's what I admire about you Sora, not only you have overcome difficulties we have faced whether be in class, exams, or in our battle against the heartless and all dark creatures." Edelgard said as she came closer to his hear and whispered him something… "Even thou I wouldn't mind if you dated the girls you have helped."
Okay this is getting awkward, what did she mean that Sora could date any girl he had met.
"What do you mean by that, Edelgard?" Sora asked her in confusion blushing himself. "I-I wouldn't dare to date anybody!"
"No, I mean, you can date me, Byleth, Dorothea, Petra, Marianne." Edelgard clarified her motives. "Because, I have seen Claude trying to build his own "army" getting some pretty girls to his team."
"Claude does that?! Wow! What kind of man would do this?" Sora expressed amusement about her statement. This was new to him.
"You see, many girls become interested him because of his appearance and apparent cool personality. That same goes for Dimitri as well. But I'll tell you this, Sora; The reason we like each other, and you have chances of building your own army, it's because they appreciate you for who you are." Edelgard gave him a huge statement which made him excited. It was a tempting proposal the future ruler gave to him.
"That sounds great, but I would have to talk to Kairi and Aqua if they want to join us." Sora was okay with it, but he seemed hesitant whether should he try to recruit them or not. "I can't force them."
"Mmm… You would have to check of you can convince them. But time will tell, besides, you could become a good lord, Sora." Edelgard said aside of predicting his future.
"I really have never thought about leading my own soldiers." Sora said with discouragement. "I wouldn't know how to make a choice."
"Don't worry about it, Byleth is our best strategist so you could ask her for help if you find yourself in trouble." Edelgard stated suggesting him go to their teacher if he needed help in any situation he couldn't handle overwise.
"Thank you, Edelgard." Sora thanked her kissing her cheek.
"You're welcome, Sora." The white-haired girl replied kissing him back on the same spot.
[Level Support between Sora and Edelgard has reached A]
