Mario and Zelda: When Worlds Collide: Chapter 13: Battle in the City
Mushroom City
It was a busy night in Mushroom City. Cars and trucks filled the streets of the kingdom, while pedestrians walked across the crosswalk in and out of stores buying goods, technology, food, etc.
The heroes were walking up to the Star Concert Hall to watch Toadette's orchestra play a symphony for an audience.
"So, this Toadette, is she Toad's girlfriend?", asked Link.
"Why yes, she is! They've been dating for almost a year now.", said Luigi.
"Well, I hope this performance will be good.", said Zelda.
"Oh it will be more than good, Zelda! It'll be the best performance you've ever seen! Toadette is very good at composing music!", said Mario.
The heroes found four seats to sit in as the rest of the residents of the city sat down in their seats.
Then, the curtains slid back revealing Toadette's orchestra. Toadette took her baton and started waving it to her orchestra members.
"This is pretty good so far.", said Link.
"Nothing like good old fashioned classical music, eh?", asked Mario.
"Yeah!", said Zelda.
All of a sudden, a loud boom was heard from outside which caused the Star Concert Hall to shake.
"What's that noise?", asked Luigi.
"It sounds like danger is afoot.", said Mario.
The heroes and the rest of the audience went to see what made the noise. The heroes looked up and saw airships floating above the city.
Bob-ombs were being thrown all across the city by the airships, and a cannonball was fired at the city square statue of Princess Peach.
"No! Those bastards destroyed the Peach monument!", said Mario.
"It looks like our enemies won't give up!", said Link.
"You said it, Link!", said Zelda.
Bowser Jr. appeared from the smoke in his Koopa Clown Car Jr. His Clown Car had mechanical arms with boxing gloves on the hands of the arms.
Just then, Ganondorf appeared on one of the airships and spoke into a megaphone.
"Citizens of this fine city, I am Ganondorf Dragmire from the land of Hyrule! You will surrender to me or suffer the consequences!", said Ganondorf.
"You thinking what I'm thinking, bro?", asked Luigi.
"Yeah! I got a few Cape Feathers and Fire Flowers. You take one of the Cape Feathers while Link and Zelda get the Fire Flowers. Bowser is probably over near Peach's Castle. I'll use this Cape Feather to fly over there and stop Bowser.", said Mario.
Mario handed Link and Zelda Fire Flowers, while handing Luigi a Cape Feather. Mario then touched his Cape Feather and began running and flew off into the night sky to Peach's castle.
"What do these do?", asked Zelda.
"Those are Fire Flowers. They grant the ability to throw fire to anyone who uses them.", said Luigi.
"So I guess that's how we'll defeat these chumps!", said Link.
"Right on Link!", said Luigi.
Luigi began to run and flew over to Bowser Jr. Bowser Jr. started chucking Bob-ombs and shooting cannonballs at Luigi as Luigi dodged them each time.
All of a sudden, Bowser Jr. used one of the mechanical arms to knock Luigi out of the air. He succeeded in doing so and Luigi was knocked down to the ground.
Meanwhile, Link and Zelda were chucking fireballs at Ganondorf, missing with each throw.
Ganondorf then fired Bullet Bills, red Bullet Bills, and Banzai Bills at Link and Zelda. The Bullet Bills hit Link and Zelda knocking them down to the ground, but not making them lose their Fire Flower abilities.
Peach's castle
At Peach's castle, an airship was floating right above the castle bridge.
"Princess Peach, surrender yourself to me or else I'll destroy your castle!", said Bowser.
Bowser then began throwing Bob-ombs around the castle and igniting flamethrowers.
"I'll never surrender to someone as small-minded as you, Bowser!", said Peach as she fired Bullet Bills at Bowser's airship.
Mario had just made it to Peach's castle and flew close to Bowser's airship.
"Alright Bowz, I came to kick your ass!", said Mario.
"Very well, Peach. I tried reasoning with you, but you've forced me to take extreme measures.", said Bowser as he fired a Banzai Bill at the castle.
Just then, Mario flew by and knocked the Banzai Bill out of the air before it could hit the castle.
"What the devil?!", said Bowser. "I knew Mario would come here, but I didn't think he would've shown up alone.", said Bowser.
"Hey plumber boy, where are your friends?", asked Bowser.
"They're in Mushroom City right now fighting your son and that Ganondorf guy!", said Mario.
"Well surely you won't be able to stop me this time, you little pest!", said Bowser.
"Wanna bet?", asked Mario.
Mario flew over to Bowser's airship and chucked Bob-ombs back at him. The Bob-ombs destroyed parts of the airship.
"Blast! That meddlesome plumber is destroying my only transportation! I knew I should've just used the Clown Car!", said Bowser.
Mario then flew up to Bowser and punched him right in the face. Bowser fell into the moat of Peach's castle and a Bob-omb destroyed the airship.
Bowser then swam out of the moat and ran up to Peach's castle. Bowser was about to capture Peach when all of a sudden a high heel hit the top of his head.
It was Peach who began attacking Bowser and eventually, she punched Bowser so hard that Bowser went flying back to Peach's castle.
"That was amazing, Peach!", said Mario.
"I have to thank Daisy for showing me how to do that.", said Peach.
Mushroom City
Link and Zelda were throwing fireballs at Ganondorf and one fireball managed to hit Ganondorf right in the face, causing himself to stumble backwards. Ganondorf used the magic wand he had to fire magic flames at Zelda and Link. The flames missed and another fireball hit Ganondorf, knocking him off the airship and sending him falling to the ground.
Meanwhile, Luigi was flying by Bowser Jr.'s Koopa Clown Car and had hit Bowser several times with his cape.
"You won't defeat me this time, Luigi!", said Bowser Jr.
"We'll see about that!", said Luigi.
Bowser Jr. used the mechanical arms to hit Luigi, missing each time. Luigi then grabbed one of the arms and punched Bowser Jr. with it.
Bowser Jr. was dazed after being hit and his Koopa Clown Car fell out of the sky.
"We did it! We saved the city from Bowser Jr. and Ganondorf!", said Link.
"Good work, Link and Zelda! You guys did amazing in battle!", said Luigi.
"Thanks Luigi!", said Zelda.
"No problem you two!", said Luigi.
Bowser Jr. flew his Koopa Clown Car over to where Ganondorf was and picked him up, and flew off.
Mario had just flown back to Mushroom City. "I see you guys handled the battle well on your own without me.", said Mario.
"Right on Mario! We were awesome!", said Link.
"Let's go back to Toadette's symphony in the Star Concert Hall.", said Luigi.
"I could go for a little bit of classical music right now.", said Mario.
The heroes then walked into the Star Concert Hall and went back to watching Toadette's symphony.
Bowser's Castle
Bowser had just landed right outside of his castle and Bowser Jr. had just arrived back at the castle with Ganondorf.
"Damn those Mario Bros. and those elves!", said Bowser as he got up from the spot he landed in.
"Dad, dad! Ganondorf's out cold!", said Bowser Jr.
"Bring him into the castle! He's still gotta finish the machine I asked him to build!", said Bowser.
