Sorry Not Sorry

Author Notes: Well it's been two years but I plan on continuing this series, as a holiday special. We have reached Sen's favorite time of year, and the start of my holiday hell lol. So let's get on with it, we do not own Resident Evil.

3rd P.O.V

"So what's the plan for the day Mako?" She tightened the grip on the wheel as she made a quick turn onto the road. Ready to face the worst Raccoon City's' streets had to offer. "Today we're heading for the police department." She said it so...casually.

And it made her friend riding shotgun worried. "I swear I didn't pickpocket that bastard at the zoo. I just bumped him." Immediately the red head gave him a look. Though this would not be the first time(nor unfortunately the last) she questioned why she decided to go on vacation with him in the first place.

Or why he could be such a moron. "We're going to take a tour? Of the museum sections?" He laughed nervously, scratching the back of his neck. "Ohhhh ok cool! Wh-why are you still giving me that look?" That deadpanned expression would not go away, even as she arrived in at the police department guest parking lot.

"Look I told you I didn't pick pocket that guy!" Offended by her lack of trust, Sen goes about pulling out his pockets. Only to curse. "U-m...but he may've pick pocketed me." Now really upset, he goes through each and every single opening in his jeans and coat, frantically searching.

His face contorting the more he checks. "Son of a bitch I should've pickpocketed the prick!" At this point his friend wanted to smack her head on the steering wheel in disbelief. Only for the both of them to freeze when someone clears their throat.

Following the sound, their complexions pale. Because right there was a police offer(what are the odds?) giving the two of them a raised eyebrow. "He didn't mean it sir!" The last thing they wanted to do was get arrested. So they did what they could to cover their asses.

"Yeah I- I was just joking." Or mainly, Sen's ass. Thankfully for them, the man staring at them started laughing. Breaking the tension(only slightly.) "If someone pickpockected me I would've nailed the bastard. Relax i'm not gonna arrest you." He smiles then.

His silver nametag shining in the light. "Let's go file the report shall we? Names Marvin and if you're here for the tour of the history of our building then I'll be your guide today." Both in unison exhale, practically deflating against their seats for a moment.

Well...if they weren't awake before they certainly were now as they undid their seatbelts. "Sounds good. I'm Mako and this is my friend Sen. We're vacationing here for the week." Again the man raises an eyebrow, intrigued.

"Is that right? Well welcome, but I'm curious, why pick here? As much as I love this place, Raccoon City isn't really known for being a tourist hot spot." Together they walk in, the two civilians gazing at the architecture.

Waiting till after Marvin speaks with the receptionist about printing out the proper papers to answer. Sen taking the lead in this one. "Well, we live a bit ways away and decided to just go out and do something different. We looked online and saw a lot of things here that caught our eye."

The zoo, a museum turned police station, stores full of souvenirs and weapons(which was perfect considering how big weapon enthusiasts these two were.) It didn't take long for the two of them to make the decision.

Something that made the man in blue smile. "Well again welcome. How has the vacation been so far?" Now even though the cop had nearly given the pair a heart attack earlier, Mako and Sen liked the guy. At the very least it didn't seem like their asses were going to get arrested for being honest.

Still, the two friends shared a glance, unsure if they really shout say anything. In the end, the red head wasn't one to really lie when the two of them were looking forward to this trip. Mako's face scrunched from a grimace as she took the papers from Marvin. Not confident in looking him in the eye.

"It could be better. Zoo trip was fine up until we got to the mainline predators which was randomly closed. Souvenir shopping was fine and there are some really pretty places here, but it's terrifying driving around. I feel like i'm seeing an accident or someone trying to kill me every time I pull onto the road. Our first day into town there was a drunk guy lying on the sidewalk at the gas station we were at...and we were pretty spooked when we heard he attacked someone."

To think that Sen was originally going to go help him...if he didn't he would've been the one bit. "Yeah. It's not the worst vacation I've ever been on, but even our hotel has problems, it's not clean, the receptionist doesn't give a damn, the elevator doesn't work-it's a mess. This isn't normal right?" With each complaint, Marvin's brows furrowed in surprise.

He couldn't believe what he was hearing. "No. At the very least that's not how it usually is. Though I've been worried. The last few weeks, there's been an up on crime and our S.T.A.R.S group was disbanded." The name sounded familiar.

It took a few moments before Mako remembered. "S.T.A.R.S. That was your special group of officers that handled important rescue missions right? I heard that there was an accident where there were only a few survivors."

Footsteps approached at a leisurely pace but with the tile floor it echoed, sounding louder than it needed to be. And even louder than that was a male voice. "It could've been worse, considering the circumstances, but that's not something you guys need to worry about." Everyone turned, startled.

The new addition to the group was about average height. A bit taller than Sen and Mako. With a buzz haircut and easy going grin. He seemed familiar, though both tourists knew they never met him before now. "Oh hey Brad. Didn't even know you were in." The man shrugged his shoulders.

"Yeah...boss wanted me to finalize some papers. But is everything alright Marvin? I see you got yourself a stack of papers yourself." There was something in his tone...that wasn't quite right.

Not that Sen or Mako could tell, something was off, but they couldn't figure out why. Whereas Marvin only widened his eyes a fraction, before becoming neutral again. As if there was some sort of hidden conversation going on between them.

The police escort cleared his throat. "These two here came for the museum history tour, but apparently dealt with a pickpocket before hand. Since we still had time, I figured I'd do the report with them." Brad nodded, arms crossed.

"Damn, well you two are in good hands. Marvin will take good care of you. But uh, I gotta head out. Have a nice day." With that Brad and Marvin went their separate ways, with Mako and Sen following quickly behind Marvin.

An annoyed groan could be heard from the mattress as Sen flicked through the tv remote. "Makooooo there's nothing good to watch." Meanwhile Mako was going through the stacks of papers that she picked up while at the police station and newspaper stand not too far from the hotel.

"We should've stayed longer after the tour, there was cool shit there." His female companion could only hum, acknowledging the fact that though she didn't bother to comment, she was listening to him gripe.

Frowning, he sits up, watching her flick through several pieces of paper. "The hell are you doing?" Her eyes were still scanning, throwing another article to the side. "That guy we met before we did the tour looks familiar. And it's bugging me." Sen wasn't going to deny it.

He felt the same way, but why worry about it? "What? Was he an ex of yours? Should I beat him up?" She snorted, amused. "No, because I would've already done it. But seriously...didn't that whole experience seem odd to you?"

Much to her annoyance, he shrugs his shoulders. "They're cops. Some do good work, others do bad work. But they've always seemed shady to me." Not the answer she was hoping for, but she wouldn't bother continuing this particular conversation until she found what she was looking for.

"Can you go to the news? I wanna see what the weather shows for the next few days." He does as requested, though he does roll his eyes. "Didn't the weather man say it was going to be nice all week?" She gives him a look.

Staring straight into his soul. "I don't recall clouds darkening up the sky as part of the forecast yesterday or even today for that matter. I can hear the rumble of thunder...we're due for a storm. The weather man can say all he wants but Mother Nature gets the final word in."

Together the pair look at the tv. Seeing the typical Raccoon City man, all dressed up for work, point behind him as the forecast comes up. Just like Mako thought, it wasn't all sunshine and blue skies like it was originally believed.

"Folks we have a bit of a cold front coming in with a rapidly approaching storm, occupying the next couple of days..."

Mako's point was made. "Ok ok, you were right, sue me." If only she could. "With what money, at this point you're broke." Now it was his turn to snort. "Very funny. So what's the plan then? We've essentially done everything we want to do and whatever quick plans we did have are screwed from the rain." That was true.

Frankly, she didn't have a clue. And she wasn't finding what she was looking for either. So with a sigh she pushes her things out of the way, grabbing a deck of cards from her bag. "Let's play a few games before bed. And we'll come up with a game plan tomorrow." Tomorrow was a new day, and hopefully a better one.

To be continued

Author Notes: Lol that ended on a dreary note, didn't it. But hey at least we got Brad in there. Originally him and Marvin weren't going to be in here, but Sen and I loved Marvin in the role he played in the game-er that we saw via youtube resi timeline.

And Brad well...I mean I still don't like him and to a lesser extent neither does Sen, but he's only played the remakes of 2, 3 and game 8 so he knows the bare basics of what the dude did in game one-as well as what happens to him.

Anyways even though horror is not my cup of tea, it felt good getting back into this. But that is it for now. Thank you all so much for reading this story. If you like it please feel free to fav/follow/review as it would mean a crap ton to me. Tchao for now.
