Chapter 14 A Way Out?
A.N. – So, this is the co-finale as the Lyoko Warriors research the question of this story: how to get out. I will also introduce a little obstacle in this story in the real world. I know, it's kinda late, but it's something so it's not a smooth shot out. Let's begin!
Short Summary – The Lyoko Warriors enter overdrive mode as they need to get out fast before the second entity rises. But, in the real world, Jeremy has to find a way to get them back fast as the police start a missing persons case and Jeremy is primary suspect.
Disclaimer – I do not own Code Lyoko. I am just a fan of the show.
It's been nearly two weeks since Xana trapped the Lyoko Warriors in his world between the five sectors. All the parents have not heard from the children and the has not heard anything from them as well. Jeremy was trying everything he could with trying to help them with finding a way out. But that came with difficulties as Xana did everything to stop them. And with his most recent scheme, the situation was never more dire then now.
As for everyone else, the decided that the time was now to take action. The only parents that could show up for now was Yumi's parents. They arrived at the principal's office and ten minutes later is when the detectives for missing persons arrived.
"Ah, here are the detectives that will help us" Principal Delmas said as the police walked in.
The police sat down and Yumi's parents started to describe their daughter and soon they had a sketch that they could post on their website. Now they needed descriptions of the other three. The principal knew only one knew them better was their friend Jeremy.
Jeremy was in his room at this time as there was no school. He was still researching ways to reach the supercomputer from a virtual world within a virtual world. He was at a complete loss from back home. Aelita told him that she might have a way, but it would take a while to set up. All he could do was wait.
Someone knocks on his door. "Jeremy," Jim says. "Principal Delmas wants to see you down in his office. It's concerning your missing friends of Ishiyama, Stern, Della Robbia, and Stones."
Jeremy eyes grew wide, not knowing what they know of the situation.
A new day dawned on the Lyoko Warriors after escaping Xana's nightmare trap. They were all too scared to sleep last night after what they experienced. They also knew that if Aelita's plan worked, they would soon be sleeping in their own beds.
"Alright, now we need have enough to build a test rail and then we try to see if we can punch a signal through to the supercomputer" Aelita tells them.
"And if this works princess, do we have enough for your scheme to cross the ocean?" Odd asks.
"If this works, that is the first thing we do. The faster we get out, the faster we outrun Xana."
"And the faster we escape that second entity" Yumi adds.
"I fear we may be too late for that. The power needed when crossing the ocean may be enough to awaken him. But if we have everything we need when the system is complete, we won't have to worry about it."
"So, where are we setting up our testing station?" Ulrich asks.
"Right up there" Aelita points to the mountain above their house.
Jeremy walked down to the principal's office. He didn't know what the principal wanted with his friends. He hoped that they didn't discover their secret. He walked in, but instead of the principal, he saw a few detectives.
"Um, am I early?" Jeremy asked.
"Are you Jeremy Belpois?" A detective asked.
"I am. Am I in trouble?"
"That's for us to figure out. We are detectives for the missing persons department. We are here concerning four missing persons. These are the four missing cases we are currently investigating." He put four files on the table, and they were all of Jeremy's friends. "Miss Ishiyama's parents have not seen her for weeks and the others, told by your teachers, have been absent for the same amount of time."
"So, where does this involve me?"
"According to your principal, you five are very close, so for them to go missing at the same time and you not to care about them from your cool demeanor, you are the primary suspect in their disappearance."
"How would I be able to kidnap them?! More importantly, why would I want to kidnap my friends?!"
"We're not putting a kidnapping charge on you. Just disappearance."
"Still, why would I have anything to do with them disappearing?"
"If you were concerned, you would be sadder."
"I AM concerned for them, but I'm not gonna let it affect my schoolwork or my personal life."
"Unless you give us another name or we find another suspect, you will ALWAYS be the primary suspect. We got more research to do. If you have anything to tell us, you can find us at the department or call us on this number." The detective gave Jeremy the missing persons department card. "Good day sir."
Jeremy got up and left. He had to tell his friends to get back home ASAP. But another problem arose. If he was being watched, how was he going to be able to send them home from the lab?
The Lyoko Warriors spent the day excavating the inside of the mountain for a testing ground. Aelita thought this was the best way to test her theory and for them to stop Xana from watching them. With everything excavated, the next phase was the construction.
"Hey guys, we got an issue" Jeremy contacted them from his room.
"Einstein, new discoveries?" Odd asks.
"No, but you guys have been missing long enough for the police to start an investigation. Worse part about it all, is I'm the primary suspect."
"The police actually think you had something to do with our disappearance?" Yumi asks.
"Strangely enough yes. You guys have been missing for nearly three weeks."
"Xana put us in a predicament" Aelita says.
"Only thing it means is that you got to test your escape method and if it works immediately build the primary one. I need you guys here now!"
"Jeremy are you in the lab?" Aelita asks.
"Not at this moment."
"You have to be there to see if we punch a signal. It's the only way to know if our test is successful."
Jeremy didn't know if he could leave the academy with the police breathing down his neck. But his friends need him now. If needed, he would launch a return to the past to give him enough time to rematerialize his friends. "Okay, I'll head over there."
The police were still in the principal's office, trying to figure out what to do with Jeremy.
"We got to find out where he goes. If anything, he goes to where they are" a detective says.
"And if we find anything, we can arrest him and then start prosecuting him" a second guys adds.
"Call the gym teacher. He will help us with finding him."
Jeremy immediately rushed over to the lab to help with his friends escape attempt. To make it their a little easier, he used the gym entrance instead of the passage in the park.
On the Lyoko world, the warriors completed Aelita's test rail. The rail consisted of a circle track with a lava opening and redstone repeaters that produced a power source. They also had a side rail that when passed would provide a speed boost. Aelita hoped, that with the speed and power provided it would punch a signal through. The signal would be any life form in the cart. Also, they added a source of a wind tunnel. If successful, the next ones will be them.
"Okay, now we just need a guinea pig. And it can't be one of us" Aelita concluded.
"There is a bunch of animals outside. Let's use on of them" Odd responds.
After about ten minutes, the Lyoko Warriors had successfully got a cow into a rail cart and into the testing station.
"Guys, I'm in the lab. If your ready, get to it" Jeremy tells them.
"Jeremy be ready, the test is about to begin" Aelita responds.
Odd and Ulrich pushed the cow into the rail cart and got behind the brick observation room before the cow got up to speed. As the cow went faster and faster, the power from the redstone repeater grew in power. Eventually, it became too much and the redstone repeater blew up.
"Well, that first test was a bust" Ulrich said with sadness. He was then convinced that they would be stuck here longer.
"Not necessarily. Right before the repeater exploded, I did see a small signal from the cart. If you can find a way to generate more power and store it better, there should be a small chance that I can rematerialize you" Jeremy tells them confidently.
"Okay, we have a way to get out" Aelita tells them.
"I got to head back to the academy to get a few things, but I'll be back soon."
"Okay, the rest of us, grab all the materials for the rail cart. We are gonna need a lot more power. I have an idea, but in order to generate it, we gonna need to go across the ocean."
To be continued…
A.N. – Next chapter, the warriors finally come home! But it's not as easy as 1, 2, 3. Xana is out to get them, as well as the second entity. With only X on their side, they will have to build their escape and use it as fast as possible with no mistakes. The only thing that stands between them and freedom is everything. Prepare for hell. See you next time in the finale! -lyokowarrior97
