Edd ran and ran as far and fast as he could. Even when his lungs burned and his wounds throbbed, he kept running. He only stopped to walk on two legs when he got near the Den, leaning against one of the last trees to catch his breath before moving on.

The blood from Kevin's claws had been smeared all over his face in his mad dash to get away, but it still flowed down into his eye. Snarling, the Omega tried rubbing at it, but it didn't stop the blood flow. Shaking his head, Edd sat down, looking down at his scarred shoulder before lifting the sleeve to stare at the ruined flesh there. He could still feel the warmth from Kevin's hand there, even if it was only for a moment.

Snarling again but in a lower tone, Edd licked at his shoulder, as if that would get the feel of Kevin's hand off him. "Damn him. Damn Alpha!"

He sighed heavily before getting to his feet...and promptly sat back down. His body felt heavy and so very tired. He realized too late he pushed himself too hard. Not having much choice, he sniffed around to make sure Kevin hadn't followed him.

'But even if he did, there's nothing I can do about it right now.' Edd thought warily. He tilted his body so that he was lying on his side, whimpering softly. Everything hurt. He legs from running, his old wounds from the fight with Eddy and Lee, and now this stupid claw scratch from Kevin. Edd just wanted it all to be over.

He was only about 30 minutes away from the Den, but he just couldn't make his body move. He wanted nothing more than to sleep, preferably with Marie but his side. She was always so soft and warm and her light snores were good background noise. As he thought of Marie, his clawed shoulder twitched and he slowly closed his eyes.

He was tired, his body felt too heavy. It was safe enough here to rest, he thought. 'Marie, wait for me.'

As Edd surrendered to sleep, someone came a little later, draping a worn but still warm blanket over him and placing a basket filled with apples next to him. Kevin sat back watching the boy for a moment before grimacing and closing his eyes as well. When he opened them, he decided to move further back downwind. Even if Double D didn't want him near, he couldn't just leave him like this.

When Edd woke up he felt something warm and slightly heavy covering his shoulders. As he gained more awareness, he noticed the coolness of the air and looking around, realized it was sunset. Did he really sleep here half of the day?

Looking down, he took stock of what was covering him, lowering his head to take in its scent, suddenly suspicious. The smell of rain and pine trees hit him immediately and hissing loudly, Edd shimmied out from the warm covering.

Once done, he glared at the blanket while moving his hand, ready to smart moving again. When his hand brushed against the tupperware container. He saw the apples inside and scoffed, his scent was all over it. He would eat at the Den.

"You shouldn't starve yourself." Kevin's voice came quietly from off to his right, where the shadows were deepening. Edd felt his lip curling into a growl.

"You followed me. I don't want to see you!" the Omega turned to face the Alpha as Kevin moved into the fading light. He looked at the untouched apples, his expression calm.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you or cause you further pain. I just...I'm sorry." the red head finished lamely, turning his gaze away. Yet he didn't move and that made Edd bristle, his hackles rising.

"Don't say sorry, you don't mean it! You Alphas never mean it!" Edd narrowed his eyes, while backing away while his words caused Kevin to look up.
"Not all Alphas are the jackasses that you had to deal with! I'm sorry you hurt you but you can't lump us all together like that!"

Edd was still backing away but he scowled and tossed his head, looking just for a moment condescendingly smug. "Can't I?"

Gritting his teeth, Kevin resisted the sudden urge to drag Double D by his scruff and shake him. He wasn't Pack and he would only be proving the Omega right if his jumped him. But still...he wished he could wipe that smug look off the boy's face.

Kevin took a deep breath to calm himself, relaxing his shoulders and letting his anger die away. He looked at Double D, the boy was crouching, his shoulders up and glaring at him with a mix of fear and loathing. He shook his head and held out his hands, before starting to walk towards the smaller boy.

"Stay away from me!" Edd hissed, backing away as Kevin refused to listen to him.

"No, I won't. I don't want to. You will listen!" with the red head's voice deepening for that moment, Edd felt himself going still. But he forced himself to fight through it, even if the effort left him panting.

"Get...away..." The stubbornness if this little Omega both impressed Kevin and pissed him off. He lunged forward the last couple of steps, reaching out with one hand to grab the back of Edd's neck. The sudde and unpredictable action caused Edd to freeze as Kevin moved closer, so close that that their breath intermingled with each other and then...

'His lips are so soft.' the thought came to Edd's mind and for the briefest of seconds, he felt himself relax, his eyes lowering as subconsciously, he let out a soft groan before taking a half step towards Kevin.

Hearing that, Kevin smirked and growled encouragingly but it was that that broke the spell and Edd woke up. And immediately pushed the Alpha away from him, hissing and spitting much like a pissed off kitten.

"Fuck off!" the little kitten screeched before turning tail once again and running. Kevin didn't even bother chasing after him, his fingers brushing against his lips.

'He's not a bad kisser.' was the only thought running through the now smirking Alpha's mind.
