When Jesse was done with their grandmother, he walked out of the front of the Angelville house. He'd already doused it in gasoline, and now he was looking forward to lighting it up with his sister. Jesse stared at the three of them, Tulip, Cassidy and Lily at the trunk of Tulip's car, each of them eagerly watching as he walked towards them. Tulip had already caught Lily and Cassidy up with the chaos of how Jesse was able to get Genesis back, and that explained why they were AWOL the last several days while Lily and Cassidy were trapped in Angelville without any help. Genesis had been the only answer to get them all free, and it was a price to pay to leave Lily and Cassidy to endure what they had, but what was important was the Hell of Angelville was over.
Lily stared at the scar on her hand, one she shared with her brother, wondering why breaking their grandmother's curse nor Cassidy's blood had made it go away. "Alright-" Jesse smiled, smacking his hands together as he grabbed his signature lighter from his pocket and tossed it to his sister. She caught it, getting up from her seat on the trunk of the car and walking past Cassidy towards her brother, "I got something to show you." Lily stated, tossing her brother his lighter back. He raised his brow curiously, "No fuckin' way." Lily nodded slowly, "Ya fucking way." She said, "I set Jody on fire before he knocked me out."
When she stared at the house, she wasn't sure what to do to conjure any sort of flame. She wasn't even sure how she did it to begin with. When nothing happened, or seemed to call her, she remembered the moment she'd ignited the flame on Jody. The emotions she'd felt, the anger and heartbreak she'd felt after battling Cassidy in the Tombs, the fear of being thrown back into the pit again - the more she thought about it, the more she could feel the instinct come back. She remembered the vision she had, the beautiful vision of Angelville up in smoke...
"Holy fuck!" Jesse exclaimed, laughing. Tulip gasped, grabbing at Cassidy, who began hooting and hollering. Lily stared at the Angelville house in front of them as it began smoking, the fire Lily had somehow conjured began engulfing the house, smoke seeping out of every crack. Lily felt her brother push her at her side, practically jumping for joy as all of them began hollering, celebrating like a bunch of kids who just broke open a pinata.
They all hopped into Tulip's car, Cassidy and Lily stared out the back window in the back of the car as Lily turned around to face away from the amazing image, "Where are we off too?" Lily asked Jesse, Jesse to the backseat at his sister, as much as it made his heart swell at the thought of her being so loyal to follow him after he'd led them to the literal Hell that was Angelville, he sighed, turning forward again, "Actually, I have a different idea in mind." He said, to Lily's surprise, "Pull over." Jesse asked as Tulip got to the end of the never-ending Angelville driveway. When Jesse got out and closed the passenger door, Lily stared at Tulip in the rearview mirror, she raised her brows and shrugged her shoulders. Cassidy was already out of the car as well, and the girls followed suit.
Lily raised a brow up at her brother, shifting her weight as she struggled to believe that her brother who was so dead set on finding God and kicking his ass didn't have an exact plan to get that accomplished as soon as possible, "What's the idea?" Lily asked. Jesse tilted his head as he walked towards the road. Tulip and Cassidy stayed where they were, letting the two of them have their moment. With little patience, Lily was glad to see her brother finally stop, lighting a cigarette as he squinted into the sunshine, "I was talking to Cass right before we found you, and I think it's probably a good idea to take a few days." In surprise, Lily leaned her head back, her brows raising high as she waited for her brother to say he was just fucking with her. "Really?" She asked with her voice low, showing him how unconvinced she was. He nodded, dragging from his cigarette, "Really." He assured her, "Boost our morale and all that." Lily let eyes shift to Cassidy, who stood by Tulip's car, underneath the Angelville sign on the highway, chatting to Tulip as his eyes wandered to Lily's direction.
"Yea," Lily scoffed, turning her glance back to her brother, "A few days off will really reset our morale and wipe away the trauma this fucking place did." She teased, half jokingly. Jesse chuckled softly, bobbing his head back and forth as he exhaled from his smoke, "Well, we don't have the kind of time we'd need to undo the damage Angelville's done, but it's somethin' at least." Lily shifted on her spot, still studying her brother, "Alright. I won't argue that." She said simply, "Where are we going?"
With a smile across his face, Jesse let out a soft chuckle, surprised and touched that his sister would willingly stick by his side even after everything they'd been through, "I'm gonna take Tulip to Vegas." Jesse said, "You know, some good old r and r." He smirked, "She always talks about goin' back there. Figured I'd surprise her."
"We're separating?" Lily asked, even more surprised than she just was, "What about God?" Lily dared to ask. With his lips twitching slightly, Jesse nodded, "God will be there when we're done. He's got nowhere else to go." He said confidently, "I've been chasin' God my whole damn life. I think I got some time to make up for me and Tulip's sake." Jesse noted, "You and Cass should salvage whatever you've got left, too." He teased. Lily rolled her eyes playfully, "Well, alright." She sighed, her heart fluttering as she took another glance at the giant smoke cloud above the Angelville house.
"Cass just told me we're splittin' up?" Tulip asked, her thumb pointing back to Cassidy who stood behind her. Jesse continued walking, jumping into the passenger seat of Tulip's car, the window rolled down, "Yep." Tulip went from shocked to acceptance within a split second, not taking the chance to have Jesse change their minds, "Alright-" She threw her arms around Lily and then around Cassidy before leaping into her driver side door.
"Wait!" Cassidy yelled, "Somethin' we gotta do first!" Tulip hung her head out her window, "What?" Cassidy waved a hand to encourage them to get out again. Impatiently, Tulip pursed her lips and hopped out, Jesse following and doing the same. Cassidy whipped out his phone,
"Do we want to get the burnin' disaster in the back?" Cassidy asked.
Jesse smiled, "I think so."
As the camera on the phone clicked, it captured the moment perfectly. Each of them looked haggard beyond belief, but the smiles they wore showed just how happy they were regardless of the situation. And the burning image of Angelville in the back was a great touch. Cassidy let his hand run along Jesse and Tulip as he said a quick goodbye, "Gotta get the truck."
Lily exchanged quick hugs and goodbyes with her brother and Tulip and before she knew it they were back in her car. As Tulip's car revved and left a trail of smoke behind them, Cassidy drove up to her side in the truck that they now claimed theirs. Lily walked up to the passenger door, noticing Cassidy catch her eyes as he said goodbye into his phone and put it back in his pocket. He helped her into the truck as she sat down, "Who was that?" She asked.
"An old friend." He stated. When Lily's eyes dropped in the impatient manner and she crossed her arms the way she did, a smirk of entertainment crossed his lips.
Lily hardly had the passenger door closed when Cassidy slammed on the gas. His heart was racing enough as it was, but when he felt Lily grab at his hand to hold it he felt it just about burst. "Where are we going?" Lily asked. He smiled, his eyes peering at the rearview mirror to take one last glance at the smoke cloud coming up from Angelville, "It's a surprise." He said, "But first," Cassidy added, "The first motel we see."
Lily's brow arched slightly as he turned his head to her. He smirked, "We gotta shower. Can't get on a plane like this."
They'd hardly spent any time at the hotel room they'd found. Just enough time to clean up, and get back on the road.
"When are you going to tell me where we're going?" Lily asked for about the hundredth time from the passenger seat, "And on a fucking plane, no less." Cassidy finally had enough of her repetitive questions, and he could tell her anxiety of not knowing wasn't doing her any favors, "Ireland." Cassidy stated simply. Lily turned to him and her eyebrows were raised. She was already shaking her head, "No." Cassidy sighed, leaning his head into his hand that rested against the truck door, "I mean, think about it for a fucking second." She started to scold, "We have NO identification. How the Hell are we going to get across the god damn border let alone to another fucking continent?" Lily more so stated.
With a huff, Cassidy shifted his weight in the driver's seat, "You seem t'think yer always the one with ways around things." He chuckled quietly to himself before looking at the eyes of disbelief on Lily at his side, "Do y'know who I am?" He asked with his grin getting wider. Lily felt her shoulders drop as she stared hopelessly at the chaotic man beside her, "Obviously not, no." She groaned.
"Trust me." He insisted.
"You're insane." Lily sighed, digging through her one bag at her feet, "You're going to get us caught, our names are probably on a dozen lists by now-"
"Lily." He said in a stern tone, "C'mon. Just... Trust me." He said, trying to stare at her while maintaining his focus on the road. With much hesitation, and obviously not that willingly, she swallowed, "Fine."
Someway, somehow, Cassidy had actually managed to get the two of them onto a private plane and smuggle them out of the country. Somehow, she still wasn't assured. It seemed like such an impossible thing, and her stomach twisted as she waited for something bad to happen. Cassidy placed his hand on her, noticing how tense she'd been since they left Angelville, "You said you'd trust me." He said. Lily sighed, "I know. I know." Cassidy shifted in his seat next to her and faced her more, "We got about 6 more hours, you should try and relax. Get some sleep." She refrained from scoffing rudely at him, she'd tried to relax for several hours, there was no way she was going to be able to sleep. She needed a distraction.
Lily peered from the front of the plane to the back, only seeing one attendant. "Wot?" Cassidy asked at her side, "Need somethin'?" Shaking her head she leaned to him, "No." He noticed her eyes flash at him in a peculiar way. He squeezed her hand, pulling it up to his mouth as he leaned forward and kissed it.
"I'm going to the bathroom." She stated, letting go of his hand, "Want to join me?"
With his brow rising, there was soon a big grin that spread across his mouth, "That's why ye were scoping the cabin out?" He asked, "You tryin' to see if anyone's gonna put the fire out?"
Her eyes widened, urging him to shut up as she leaned her head towards the back bathroom and made her way. "'Scuse me." Lily heard Cassidy's voice, turning to see what he was doing. The attendant turned to him, "Could we get privacy in the back, please. And a few bottles of bubbly."
The attendant gave a polite smile and a nod, going into the small bar area as Cassidy made his way to the back at Lily, who looked somewhat embarrassed. The attendant had a tray, placing the bottles of champagne and some glasses down on a table that was in the backside of the aircraft. "Thank you," Cassidy said, before spinning around and pointing a finger out to her, "Oh, shite, one more thing, sorry, a couple jiggers - or - 'owever many you've got. Bring 'em all, please. Whiskey." The attendant nodded, "What would you like to go with them, coca cola, ginger ale..?" Cassidy was shaking his head, "Nah, all good. Jus the whiskey, thank you."
Lily found a way to press her lips into a polite smile back at the attendant as her eyes followed her head back to the bar at the front of the plane before coming with an arm full of small hard alcohol. The flight attendant carefully placed each tiny bottle of whiskey onto the platter that held the champagne and glasses. Lily watched as the attendant stepped back out into the aisle, "Anything else I can get you two?" She asked. Cassidy turned his head to Lily, who shook her head, and he looked back to the attendant with a big smile, "No. All good. Thanks." The woman grabbed at some curtains Lily hadn't even noticed, creating a makeshift wall so they could no longer see the front of the cabin.
"One of the many beauties of flying private." Cassidy popped one of the bottles, downing it in one moment, "They don't give a fuck if you fuck."
When they landed, it was dark outside. There was a car waiting right outside for them on the tarmac. As they got off the plane, there was a man who got out of the vehicle and made his way towards them. Cassidy went down first, greeting the man with a big hug, and Lily watched as the stranger seemed to reluctantly throw one arm around Cassidy, his unamused eyes looking up to Lily.
"This is Seamus." Cassidy said, opening himself up."Hi, Seamus." Lily said, shaking his hand as she tucked her stray hairs behind her ear quickly, "Lily." She stated.
Seamus took a big breath in, his eyes not moving from Lily's, "Yea," Seamus' voice was like a smooth song. In just one simple word his Irish accent was very distinct and much stronger than what Cassidy's was. He nodded, placing his hands into his jacket pockets, "I know quite a good amount about ye now, Lily." Seamus stated, his broad shoulders unwavering as Lily looked to Seamus' crystal blue eyes for a moment, not sure how to interpret his tone. Quickly, Seamus took a breath, turning his glance to Cassidy, "Now, I can only imagine y'got a shite storm of bullocks t'go on about, Proinsias..." He began walking towards the vehicle, "But we need to get a move on." Seamus declared, walking back towards the vehicle. Lily stared at the airport worker unloading their baggage and taking it towards the vehicle. When Seamus was getting back into the car, Lily pulled herself into Cassidy, "What kind of stuff does he know about me?" Lily whispered to Cassidy at her side, wondering if he already had the impression of her that she was wanted on who-knows-how-many lists, with a giant chaos target on her back.
"No sense whisperin', love." Cassidy said, pulling her in and guiding her to the vehicle that waited for them, "Seamus is a vampire, too."
