JUSTICE LEAGUE AND THE AVENGERS
by Gunman

Disclaimer: I do not own anything.

Summary: Batman forms a new team with Wonder Woman, Flash, Cyborg and Aquaman. But more heroes come to join the fight to defend the Earth.

Authors Notes: This is more of an omake chapter based off of a suggestion posted in the reviews. I have an idea for the main story and the characters, but here is an alternate possibility of who the heroes recruit.

ALTERNATE HEROES

(The Batcave)

The six Avengers - Captain America, The Black Widow, The Winter Soldier, The Falcon, The Scarlet Witch and Vision - were inside the underground secret headquarters of Gotham billionaire, Bruce Wayne, a.k.a. the Batman.

They were going over the five items that Stan had given them.

"So, we could have a new Iron Man, a new Spider-Man, a new super soldier, a new Black Panther, and a new... alien bio-weapon?" Sam asked.

"We could. We just need to find the right candidates." Sam said.

"I actually have a list of people who would be good candidates for these... items." Alfred said.

"You do?" Steve asked.

"It was suggested along with the other candidates."

"Who do you have?" Natasha asked.

Bruce brought up his short list on the computer.

"First up... Shinji Ikari. 25-years old. Son of two talented scientists, currently living in Midway City. His mother was a brilliant mathematician and physicist, his father was an engineer and materials specialist. A metallurgist, specifically. Current occupation: computer programmer and tech repair specialist." Alfred explained.

"He'd probably be a good Iron Man." Natasha said.

"Alright, who's next?" Steve asked.

"This is Bella Swan. 22-year old investigative reporter from Gateway City. Her news service was supposedly attacked by a bio-chemist working for a deadly syndicate they were investigating, her body was weakened by some form of poison they've never seen before." Alfred said.

"Sounds like a crusader." Steve said.

"She'd be perfect for the super soldier serum. Or the Panther serum." Sam said.

"Who's next?" Steve asked.

"Nikita Maers. Former government assassin, betrayed by her corrupt handlers. She's currently in a private hospital in Central City. Alive, but possibly brain dead." Alfred said.

"Government assassin?" Bucky asked. "Sounds familiar."

"Sounds like a good candidate for the symbiote. Or the Panther serum." Natasha said.

"They would at least be able to heal her." Alfred said.

"Who else?" Steve asked.

"Buffy Ann Summers. Lives in Coast City. Used to be a vampire hunter. Died and lost all her powers." Alfred said.

"Vampire hunter?" Steve asked.

"Died?" Wanda asked.

"Buffy?" Sam asked.

"What powers?" Natasha asked.

"According to the file, she was The Slayer, possessing super strength and toughness in order to fight against the undead. She died in her world fighting off a demon army that was preparing to invade the Earth, and was reborn in this one." Alfred said.

"She's from another dimension. Like us." Steve said.

"Interesting." Vision said.

"Maybe she'd be perfect for the heart-shaped herb and the Panther habit. Or the super soldier serum." Natasha said.

"Anyone else?" Steve asked.

"This guy. Miles Morales. He's an orphan. Watched his parents get killed by a criminal organization in Gotham City over a year ago." Sam said.

Bruce remembered that. His father had been a Gotham City police officer and his mother had been a candidate for assistant District Attorney. Bruce had been dealing with The Joker and his plot to blow up the Mayors office, and hadn't been there to stop the Mob from eliminating the boy's parents.

"Sounds like someone who would be good for the spider serum." Sam said.

"Or the panther serum." Bucky said.

"In truth, there are any of a dozen different scenarios that could come out of this." Vision said.

"What do you mean?" Wanda asked.

"Ms Summers could be given the powers of the Black Panther, but she could also do well using the super soldier serum, or the spider-serum, or even the symbiote. This Shinji Ikari could be a new Black Panther, or a super soldier himself. Or a new Spider-Man." Vision explained.

"True. But if he's a scientist like Tony was, Iron Man would be the better choice." Natasha said.

"Miss Maers might be a good candidate for the Black Panther, or a super soldier, or even a spider-heroine." Vision said.

"Do we need a government assassin?" Sam asked.

"Technically I was one." Bucky said.

"Yeah, but not by choice." Sam said.

"What else for Mr Morales?" Steve asked.

"He could be a good Black Panther." Vision said.

"Sure, if we're going to draw the line at stereotypes." Sam said.

"You mean give the black kid the powers of the Black Panther?" Wanda asked.

"Exactly."

"Well, he'd be good using the super soldier serum or the spider-serum as well." Bucky said.

"The symbiote would definitely help him try and get back against the men who killed his family." Alfred said.

"Which is not what we want." Steve said.

"But it would be possible."

"What about Miss Swan?" Alfred asked.

"The symbiote could definitely heal her of her... chemical problem. Then again the super soldier serum, even the spider-serum would help her as well." Vision said.

"Or the heart-shaped herb and the Panther tech?" Natasha asked.

"Yes."

While the Avengers were discussing their list of candidates, Bruce was actually experimenting on the five items that Stan had given the heroes.

The blue liquid in the blood pack (the super soldier serum), the yellowish liquid in the syringe (the spider-serum), the purple plant in the plastic box (the heart-shaped herb), the nanotech housing for the Iron Man suit, and of course the living liquid that was an alien symbiote.

Each of them could make The Batman a more formidable force than he already was.

Analyzing the chemical formulas for the super soldier serum, the spider-venom and the heart-shaped herb was easy. The nanoparticles were a little more complicated, and the symbiote was beyond anything he had ever seen before.

Not that he couldn't replicate them, but it would take time.

"I could make more versions of these serums, but they require the right people to be used on." Bruce said as he replaced the items in the case.

The Spider-suit and the Panther habit were also very impressive tech, and he wondered if he could incorporate their tech into his own suit.

Course, that would take time as well.

He closed his laptop on his personal computer after sending a copy of the chemical formulas to his the other drives in the cave, with triple the regular security coding, which was already military-grade to begin with.

Bruce and Alfred arrived at their makeshift conference table and replaced the suitcase on the table.

"So... are we ready to add some more members to our ranks?" Bruce asked.

"If you think they're good people." Steve said.

"Cuz that's what we need." Sam said.

"Split up?" Wanda asked.

"Split up." Natasha said.

(Midway City, Michigan)

Shinji Ikari lived out here.

Steve and Natasha looked around the small laboratory in the young mans apartment.

Despite not having a billionaires budget, Shinji was actually quite the tech wizard.

Most of his tech was salvaged from junkyards and dumpsters, cleaned and repaired to function better than they had been.

"So... what do you want from me?" Shinji asked.

"We want to know... what you think of this." Natasha said, handing him the nanotech housing.

Shinji quickly analyzed it, using his own equipment and tools, and gasped when he realized what it was.

"This is... nanotech? Where did you get this?" he asked.

"It was developed by a friend of ours. He's... unavailable."

"Oh. I'm sorry." he said, thinking they meant their friend was dead. "Who was this friend? If he developed this, I would have loved to meet him."

"His name was Tony Stark. Genius, billionaire, philanthropist, playboy, engineer, futurist."

"Made some pretty advanced technology, originally for the military, but got out of that business and started using his tech to defend the world."

"Went from a sword to a shield. Using this... armor?" Shinji asked.

"You know what it is?" Steve asked.

"Analysis of the programming showed me these schematics. This is some kind of nanotech armored suit. But... what was it made for?"

"We're putting a team together. To defend the world from a coming threat." Steve said.

"You mean... more Kryptonians?" Shinji asked. "I heard about what happened in Metropolis over a year ago."

"No. Another alien race. With an army." Natasha said.

"And we need all the help we can get." Steve said.

"I'm not a superhero. Or a hero. Or cop or soldier or anything. I'm a tech guy." Shinji said.

"That's what Tony Stark was. It doesn't just take muscle to do this job. It takes brains too." Steve said.

"And we understand you're one of the best." Natasha said.

"Thanks for that, but... I'm still not sure about this." Shinji said.

"I understand. Tony didn't want to do the whole hero thing either. But when his weapons fell into the hands of terrorists..." Natasha said.

"...and innocent people were killed because of it..." Steve said.

"...he did what he had to do."

"...because it was personal."

"My parents died when I was fourteen. Industrial accident. I've been living alone since then." Shinji mused as he looked at the device before him.

"So... what do you say?" Natasha asked.

Shinji just looked at the device before making his decision.

The man and woman knocked on the apartment door.

Several minutes later, Bella Swan opened the door to greet them.

"Miss Swan?" a woman with auburn hair said.

"Yes?" the dark brown-haired woman replied.

"My name is Wanda Maximoff, and this is..."

"Edwin Jarvis. We wish to speak to you." the man, who had a British accent said.

"Uh... sure." she said as she let them in, her time as a reporter helping her to judge a persons character. "So, what can I help you with?"

"We know about the chemical attack that has left you in a weakened state." the man said.

"We'd like to know what happened." Wanda said.

"A chemical company with supposed ties to organized crime was secretly producing chemical weapons to sell overseas. We started running stories about it, hoping to get the authorities involved. One of their factories was shut down by the police. In retaliation, one of their people let a canister of toxins loose in our newsroom. I didn't recognize the guy, so I activated the sprinkler system to drown out the chemicals so it wouldn't spread, but... I caught a whiff of it myself. It damaged my respiratory system. It's slowly killing me." Bella said as she hobbled over to one of the chairs in her apartment.

"I see." Wanda said.

"What do you want?" Bella asked.

"You were recommended to us by a friend." Wanda said.

"Recommended? For what? A job?" she asked.

"Something like that." Wanda said.

"Ever since that chemical attack... I've been on disability. It won't last. Doctors gave me about six more months and, then..." Bella said.

"We can help you." Vision said as Wanda took out a case with two objects inside it.

One was a syringe with a yellowish liquid inside it. The other was a red, blue and gold suit of some kind.

"What are those?" Bella asked. "And who are you, exactly?"

The pair looked at each other, before Edwin's human form vanished, replaced with a humanoid figure with a green body, yellow cape, red face and hands, and glowing gem in his forehead. Bella could immediately tell he wasn't human.

The woman's hands started to glow as several objects, including the syringe and the suit, were lifted up off the coffee table and levitated into the air.

Bella gasped when she saw this.

"I am Vision. And Miss Maximoff operates under the code-name The Scarlet Witch. We are... unique individuals who have been recruited for a special mission. To protect and defend this world. We would like you to join us."

Bella looked shocked and confused.

"Me? But... I'm a reporter. A sick and dying reporter."

"You have a strong sense of justice. You want to do what's right. Even at cost to yourself." Vision said.

"The serum will fix you up." Wanda said.

"And make me a superhero?" Bella asked.

"Precisely." Vision said.

"And... if I refuse?"

"We'll leave the serum in your care." Vision said.

"Though we might take the suit with us." Wanda said.

"You're not going to force me to join your superhero club?" she asked.

"That's not how we are." Vision said.

"The serum will cure you of your... health problems. It will even make you stronger than before. How you use that power... is up to you." Wanda said.

"That is not to say we wouldn't want you on our side. But it has to be your choice." Vision said.

Bella smiled.

"So... what all can this serum do?" she asked.

"What do you know about spiders?" Vision asked.

(Coast City, located near San Diego, California.)

Buffy Summers lived here.

Steve Rogers and Natasha Romanoff arrived at the studio apartment where a certain young woman was working out. Heavily.

"What do you want?" Buffy asked as she answered the door to see an athletic and handsome man and a very attractive redhead next to him.

"You." Steve said.

'Pardon?" she asked.

"Buffy Ann Summers? The Slayer?" the redhead said.

The woman looked between the pair and sighed. She let them into her apartment and closed the door behind them once they were inside.

"I was the Slayer. Not anymore. And... how do you know?" she asked the pair.

"My friend and I are in the same boat." Steve said.

"You mean you're not from this universe either."

"We arrived here thanks to a man named Stan. But he did so, because this world is gonna be attacked by alien invaders who attacked this world before. A few thousand years ago." Natasha said.

"And they're coming back here? Much as I'd like to help, I don't have my Slayer-strength anymore." Buffy said.

"That's what we came here to talk to you about." Steve said.

"You want to offer me... what?" Buffy asked.

The woman opened a small case that was with her, revealing a blue liquid in a pouch often used for storing blood.

"This is the super soldier serum. It amplifies everything inside you. Including your personality." Natasha said.

"Which is why we need good people to help us in our fight." Steve said.

"Well, I don't think I'm an evil, narcissistic psychopath. Though, I was a teenager before I died. So, just moody I guess. And just how strong will this make me?" she asked.

Steve looked at the heavy punching bag and walked over to it.

Buffy and Natasha looked on as Steve threw a single punch with his left hand... that knocked the heavy bag off it's chain and across the room.

Buffy just stared in shock. She knew how heavy that bag was and she could have done that back when she had her Slayer-strength.

"That strong." Steve said with a smile.

"And that's his weak hand." Natasha smirked.

Buffy smiled. She might be able to get back to her old self. Then again, there weren't any vampires or monsters that she was aware of since she 'awoke' in this world. There were, however, such beings as meta-humans, and they were both good and evil. And just as different as the monsters she faced.

"Okay. And... you want me to join your super team?" Buffy asked.

"We do. You were recommended to us by the same man who brought us to this universe." Steve said.

Buffy smiled. She would have allies. Not that Giles, Willow, Xander, Angel and the others weren't helpful in their own ways, but they weren't here.

"So... how does this work? I have to drink it or something?" she asked.

"It's more of an injection." Natasha said as she took out the blood pack and an injection gun.

"I hate needles." she grimaced.

"Then don't look." Natasha smirked.

"So... who else is on this team?" she asked, turning to look at Steve.

(Central City, Ohio)

James Barnes snuck into the hospital room where Nikita Maers was lying unconscious

The Asian woman was unconscious, hooked up to various medical devices and IV drip bags. Her heart-beat and pulse were registering, but it was her brain that was all but active.

He pulled out a glass tube with a writhing black liquid inside it.

"I really hope this works." he said as he uncorked the bottle and poured the contents on the stomach of the woman.

Just then two men walked in as the liquid absorbed into the woman.

Barnes looked at the men, his instincts flaring up.

"Who are you?"

"And what are you doing in here?"

"I came for the woman." Barnes said.

"And what is your interest in her?"

"Thought she'd be a good recruit for our team."

"Your team?"

"And who is your team?"

"No one that The Division would want to mess with."

The two men looked at each other, before pulling out a pair of knives.

"You know too much."

The pair lunged at Barnes, who deflected their attacks, mostly with his left arm, He punched one man in the throat and ducked low to avoid the second man, punching him in the knees, before knocked the first man down and kicking the second man against the wall.

Before the men could get up, three more men entered the room. Each of them wearing suits like the two men he had just defeated.

"Great." he huffed.

"You are quite formidable." the third man said.

"You will be a fine addition... to the Division." the fourth man said.

"Once we erase your memory, that it is." the fifth man stated.

What are these guys, mind-less drones? Who talks like that? he thought to himself.

"Not If I Have Anything To Say About It!" a raspy voice behind them said.

The group looked behind the cyber-armed hero and gasped.

Before them stood a female figure, all black, with large white eyes and a large mouth of very sharp teeth.

"Venom... Is Hungry!"

The black-colored female leapt over Barnes and tackled the three men.

Barnes was lucky his experience as a soldier and an 'assassin' made him rather immune to what Venom did to the men.

All FIVE of them.

"That's... kinda gross." Barnes said once Venom was finished with her... dinner.

"But necessary. I was hungry." she said.

"Right. Eating is essential to the symbiotic bonding process." Barnes said.

"Yes." the female symbiote said. "You are... James Barnes. The Winter Soldier."

"How did you know that?"

"Miss Maximoff told me. She also told me... you want me to become part of your team."

"Yes."

"We will help you."

"Good. We've better go. Before more of these guys show up."

"Bad news for them."

When Barnes and Nikita arrived at the airport, they were met by Bruce Wayne and his recruit.

"So, you found her." Bruce said to the Winter Soldier.

"I did. And this is your man?" Barnes said, looking over and seeing Barry Allen by the plane.

"Barry Allen." Bruce said.

"What does he do?" Nikita asked.

"Super speed." Barnes said.

"Pretty young." Nikita said.

"And you're just pretty." Barry said with a chuckle.

"Wow. You are fast." Barnes said with a small grin.

(Gotham City)

The heroes looked out over the dark and brooding metropolis.

"Already I don't like this place." Sam said.

"It's not as bad as you might think." Alfred said over the com-link.

"Yeah. It could be worse." Sam said.

"I'm sure."

"So... how long you guys been doing this?"

"20 years."

"So... who we looking for?" Sam asked.

"His name is Miles Morales. His father and mother were killed by the Mob. Specifically, Rupert Thorn and his gang."

"And he's out for blood." Sam said.

"Has been for the last year. But so far hasn't made any move against them."

"And you think he's looking for revenge."

"I would be." a new voice came over the com-link.

"That you, Bats? Guess your crime fighting exploits encouraged him."

"Young men with a mind for vengeance don't need encouragement. They need guidance." Alfred's voice said.

"So... what's the plan?" Sam asked.

"We take down Thorn." Batman said.

"And while we're doing that, Sam goes to find our final recruit." the voice of Steve Rogers came over the link.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

"So... who are you again and why am I following you?" Miles asked as he looked at the drivers license in his hands.

"Sam Wilson. From Gotham. Like you." he said as he took back his ID.

"Ain't never seen you around."

"I joined the military right out of high school. Three tours, overseas. Then I was recruited for a special team."

"You got out of Gotham... and you came back?"

"Yeah, I know. Things got pretty bad."

"So what is this all about?"

"I know about you. Bout what happened to your family." he said as the pair arrived at the docks.

Sam shows Miles the Avengers taking down Rupert Thorn and his gang, who were receiving a shipment of drugs and weapons from overseas.

Miles just stared at the costumed people, nearly a dozen, all tying up various gang members, and one in particular.

"Come here, Thorn." Batman said as he dragged the mob boss over to the young man. "Someone wants to talk to you."

Miles just stared down at the man who killed his parents. His emotions waging a war inside him. Everyone could see it in his eyes.

"I should kill you for what you did to my family. My mother, my father." Miles said to the man.

"I don't know who you're talking about." Thorn protested.

"Yeah, I'm sure all of us people look alike to you." Miles snarked to the much older man.

"You have no proof..." he said as he pulled out a picture of his parents he always kept on him.

"Jefferson Davis Morales, and Rio Morales. I saw you do it personally." he said pulling out a picture of his parents with a 16-year old Miles in the middle of them. "This picture was taken the day before they were killed. By you. Three years ago."

Thorn was panicking now. Because he did recognize them. The cop and the lawyer. They had been planning to bring him in on tax evasion charges. While that didn't seemed like much, Thorn hadn't paid his taxes for nearly 20 years. Thorn was looking at 10 to 11 years at least. This would have been compounded with his fraud and smuggling charges.

"So... you're just going to take your revenge? Just like that? With so many witnesses?" Thorn said, trying to bluff the boy.

"Why not? You did." Miles said calmly as he put the picture back into his jacket.

"Then you'd be no better than me. And I don't think the world could handle that."

PUNCH!

"Owww!" Thorn moaned.

"Don't flatter yourself." Miles said.

Thorn and his men were eventually taken away by the police.

While this was happening, Miles and the Avengers were watching from a nearby ally.

"So... now what?" Miles asked.

"We have an offer for you, Mr. Morales." Sam said as Steve Rogers opened up a case he had with him.

Miles is showed the purple serum and the black silver-tooth necklace.

"You want me to... what? Become a superhero?" he asked.

"You passed the first test. By not taking revenge." Steve said.

"And you've been doing everything you can to help people and makes things better. Volunteering after school programs, soup kitchens, D.A.R.E."

"It's what my parents would have done." he said glumly.

Moving out of the alley and into another warehouse, Miles decides he has nothing to lose.

He takes the heart-shaped herb potion and falls into a coma.

In his dream, he sees his mother and father.

They say they are proud of him. But that he cannot stay with them.

Miles asks why he can't stay with him, and they tell him that he is alive and must continue to live as much as he can. There is still so much for him to do. Now, that he will become more than he was.

When Miles wakes up, he is surrounded by the Avengers.

"Did it work?" Batman asked.

Miles leaps into the air, more than ten meters straight up, and landed back down with ease.

"Yeah. I'd say it worked." Sam said with a smile.

"If you're willing." Steve said as he handed Miles the panther-tooth necklace.

"I don't know I'm the right man for this thing." Miles said as he looked at the necklace.

"We have it on good authority, you are." Sam said to the younger man.

(The Rock of Eternity)

Shazam, last of the Council of Wizards, just stares at the much older-looking man, who had six people behind him. Six people, and a dog.

"Stan Lee. How can I help you?"

"It's how I can help you, of mighty wizard. I have brought seven worthy candidates for you to bestow your powers upon. People who will be good and worthy champions." Stan said.

John T. Myers - a young American man with short brown hair and eyes. He was lean and athletic. If just underneath 6 feet in height. FBI trainee assigned to the BPRD, transferred to Antarctica by Hellboy, and recruited by Stan upon his death.

Ajak - The wise spiritual leader of the Eternals, who has the ability to heal and is the "bridge" between the Eternals and the Celestials. Centuries old she was killed by fellow Eternal Ikaris. Given the appearance of Carolina, a beautiful Mexican woman who died in her world.

Alana Jefferson - African-American woman with brown eyes and short brown hair. Former hero known as Green Ghost, she was recruited by Stan after she died in her world at the hands of Omni-Man.

Conrad Oxford - British soldier and son of the Duke of Oxford - tall, athletic, fair-skinned, sandy blond hair, blue eyes. Recruited by Stan after he was killed in the line of duty back in WWI.

Peng Yong - former Chinese soldier of the Nameless Order who defended the Great Wall of China - black hair, black eyes. Recruited by Stan after he died fighting the Tao Tei monsters back in 1030 AD.

Grey Cloud - Native America shaman of the Matoka Tribe - black hair, gray eyes. Goes by the name Nightwolf. Recruited by Stan after he was killed by Sindel in his Earthrealm.

Max - German Shepard and military guard dog. Recruited by Stan after he died serving his country.

Shazam looks over the seven, using his magical powers to give each of them the once over, and agreeing with Stan that they are all worthy champions.

"Stand before me, and grasp my staff, to receive my powers." he said to them.

The six, and Max, each touch the staff.

"Say my name, and receive my powers." he said to them.

"SHAZAM!" they all said, as a flash of light blinded them.

Shazam smiled as the seven all had received the powers.

The wisdom of Solomon.
The strength of Hercules.
The courage of Achilles.
The power of Zeus.
The stamina of Atlas.
The speed of Mercury.

John T. Myers is given a red suit with a white cape and yellow lightning bolt on his chest.

Ajak is given a white dress-suit with a white and yellow cape, white boots and yellow lightning bolt symbol on her chest.

Alana Jefferson is given a purple suit with a yellow cape with yellow lightning bolt on her chest.

Conrad Oxford is given a blue suit with a white cape and a yellow lightning bolt symbol on his chest.

Peng Yong is given a black suit with a white cape and a yellow lightning bolt on his chest.

Grey Cloud is given a green suit with a white cape and a yellow lightning bolt on his chest.

Max is given a red sweater-vest and a white cape.

Each of them looked taller and more athletic than they did before.

"You gave us all superpowers?" Conrad asked.

"Yes." Shazam said.

"And the dog, too?" Alana asked.

"I did." Shazam said.

"This... is gonna be interesting." John said.

"Woof!" Max barked and then panted.

Ajak walked over to him and began petting him, which he appreciated.

While Shazam began explaining the history of their powers and that of the Council of Wizards, Stan decided to take his leave.

He had one more stop to make before he was finished.

(Fawcett City, Pennsylvania)

"Thank you." Stan said as he accepted the tea from the woman.

Victor Vasquez and his wife Rosa were playing host to a kindly elderly man who explained he had a very important matter to speak with them about. Something that involved everyone in their house of foster children.

Stan looked around at the assembled group.

Mary Bromfield - academically driven 16-years old American girl.

Pedro Peña - a shy, sensitive Hispanic boy who has trouble opening up, 15 years old.

Eugene Choi - an obsessive Korean gamer and techie, 13-years old.

Darla Dudley - good-natured African-American girl, 12-years old.

Freddy Freeman - disabled superhero enthusiast, Caucasian, 14 years old.

And then there was their newest kid.

Billy Batson - 14-year old runaway. Also Caucasian.

"So... what did you want to talk to us about?" Victor asked.

"Well, it's a little complicated." Stan said. "Basically, I want to give you all mutant super powers."

The group, especially Billy, looked stunned.

"Mutant super powers?" Mary asked.

"Us?" Eugene asked.

"But... why?" Pedro asked.

"There's a crisis coming. One which could be a problem if there are no people to oppose it. There are other heroes who will step up to deal with it, but having a team here in this city to help out will prove to be essential. Especially if there are other problems that could pop up." Stan said.

Victor and Rosa looked at each other, worry etched on their faces.

"I don't know. This sounds like a lot for... us." Rosa said.

"All of us." Victor said.

"I understand. But I came to you all because you are good people. Good and honorable. And this is something that will require not just a team... a family unity of sorts."

"I say we do it!" Freddy said.

"I'm in!" Darla said.

"Me too!" Eugene said.

"Kids, wait!" Rosa started to protest.

"Excelsior!" Stan said as he suddenly waved his hands, which began glowing, as each member of the house hold also started glowing.

The group could feel their bodies change slightly, as their clothes were replaced with uniforms.

He gives Victor the mutant power of Beast, giving him enhanced physical abilities and enhanced intellect.

He gives Rosa the mutant powers of Storm, giving her the ability to control weather.

He gives Pedro the mutant power of Colossus, giving him steel-hard skin and super strength.

He gives Mary the mutant power of Quicksilver, giving her superhuman speed.

He gives Eugene the mutant power of Magneto, giving him control over metal.

He gives Darla the mutant power of Shadowcat, giving her phasing powers.

He gives Freddy the mutant power of Jean Grey, giving him telekinetic powers in form and function akin to Ebony Maw.

He gives Billy the mutant power of Sunspot, giving him plasma fire, flight and strength.

He had also included knowledge of how these powers worked, for their own safety.

Victor and Rosa looked at themselves and then at the kids. Each of them were wearing leather suits that covered their entire bodies except their heads. Each of them had different colors on their suits, living their arms, legs, chest and even their backs.

"OH!" Rosa gasped when she saw her husband.

"Oh, My!" Victor gasped when he saw his hands. He stood up and looked in the nearest mirror. He looked like he was covered in blue fur, all over his body. "I... I look like bigfoot!"

"Sorry, that's a side-effect of your mutation. Hank McCoy, the original Beast, eventually got used to it. And fortunately, you can turn it on and off at will." Stan explained.

Victor concentrated on being normal, his blue appearance vanishing, as if pulling back into his body.

"Oh, good." Rosa said. "No offense, dear, but... that could take a while to get used to."

"It will for me." he said to himself.

"So... we're superheroes now?" Freddy asked, floating a couple inches above the ground.

"Not quite, son." Stans aid.

"What do you mean?" Billy asked.

"Power without control or discipline, is no better than a kid who has a loaded gun. I recommend training with your powers. So that you don't hurt yourselves, your family, or innocent people." Stan said.

"He's right. We really need to practice with our new powers." Freddy said.

"That sounds a lot like... school work." Billy said.

"Maybe. But this is gonna be the fun kind of study." Darla said with a smile.

"So... what do we call ourselves now?" Mary asked.

"Good luck, X-Men!" Stan said as he saw himself out.

"Well, I guess that answers that question." Rosa said.

Stan just smiled as he departed, happy that there were going to be heroes in this world. Dark times were ahead, and hopefully these new heroes would bring much needed light back to this world.

And as for Billy Batson and his foster family, I gave them all mutant powers of the X-Men because with or without their Shazam powers they will still be needed to fight off Doctor Sivan and the Seven Deadly Sins. They all look the same as they do in the movie, which means they are two adults and six kids/teenagers.
