Disclaimer: This is a work of fanfiction based on the Pokemon anime. All recognisable characters, plots, and settings are the exclusive property of Nintendo and the Pokemon franchise. I make no claims to ownership, nor am I making any profit.

This work was an inspiration by stories such as Traveller by The Straight Elf and Symbiotic by Constructive Writer and Legend by BlackStaff and NightMarE.

Type: Multi-Shot (It has six parts)

Author's Notes: I have never written a Pokemon one-shot before. It's something I solely enjoy and have been dying to write but couldn't get enough inspiration or time to do so. Some pokemon have evolved and are far more powerful than anime.

I also have three Harry Potter fanfictions going on right now along with another one-shot. If it strikes your fancy, go check them out. The fics can be accessed from my profile. I'd appreciate your likes, follows and reviews. It inspires me to work harder.

This fic has no beta. I'm in search of a beta reader since I only have one right now. If anybody is interested in betaing my other fics, send me a PM.

Chapter 5.5/6 - Pikachu's Backstory

" ' .DIEEEEE… Marshadow, unleash Soul-Stealing-7-Star-Strike," Tobias screamed in a crazed manner. Spittle was flying from his mouth and he seemed out of his senses.

"Pikachu, you know what to do." The Pokemon in question simply nodded before taking a deep breath. He concentrated on all the sparks he had within himself as he readied himself for the final strike.

Pikachu's POV

Even as a newly hatched Pichu, Pikachu had always been a little strange. Generally, all-electric types had the ability to manipulate either positively charged fields, or negatively charged fields. So electric types generally tend to feed from the same type of electricity. The same applied to their familial formation and mating preferences as well. This was applicable to all the Electric types as well.

What made Pikachu so special was his ability to manipulate both. He spent years trying to fit in with both Plus and Minus groups, but he always remained an outcast. Since he was abandoned as an egg, he had no kin. He was soon imprisoned by the combined efforts of both types of Electric types and buried inside a small chamber. This is what later turned into his distaste for Pokeballs. And it was all due to those Raichu leaders that hated him with a passion.

His childhood led him to many different places. He soon evolved into a Pikachu with all the feeding before being captured by Professor Oak while chewing wires in the lab. The man was truly fascinated by the Electric types who could channel and manipulate both forms of electricity.

As time passed, he progressed in Oak's lab, seeking guidance from Professor Oak's Jolteon. She was a master in electrical manipulation and taught him ways to control his extremely potent energy. Pikachu's left electric sac was Positively Charged, while the one on the right was Negatively charged. This resulted in him passing out whenever he tried to use his energy extensively.

"I can't even manage to control my electricity as a Pikachu. Even barely born Pichu's have better control than me. Perhaps I'm cursed," Pikachu spoke in frustration.

"This is not true, dear chu," the female Jolteon murmured affectionately. "Your curse is a gift that no other electric type in history has ever possessed. It's said that only Legendary Pokemon are able to manipulate both charge types. This is why a Thunderbolt from Lord Zapdos or Lord Zekrom could even hit a ground type.

Legendary Pokemon were extremely misunderstood. A lot of them weren't just guardian angels, but rather a manifestation of the will of their respective elements. For example:- The Kantonian Trio of Zapdos, Moltres and Articuno weren't just their respective types of Electric, Fire and Ice. They were the elements themselves, or atleast the element manifesting its will upon the world to act as a source.

As luck would have it, his trainer lived the most interesting of lives. What his trainer didn't know was that Flint's experiment didn't only supercharge his electric sacs, they expanded its limits twenty times beyond even that of the strongest Raichu.

In the proximity of the Lightning Orb, Pikachu had felt himself being replenished with a new kind of energy. Soon, he realized that the reason behind these Legendary Electric Attacks was that Zapdos was Thunderstorm personified. It taught him the most efficient method to charge himself and how to control electricity to a very fine degree along with better controlling how to mix both types of electricity.

Pikachu also had the pleasure of personally seeing Zapdos and getting a feel for its electricity. What made the legendary so special was that the attacks were lightning personified. It wasn't positive or negative, but rather neutral. Normally, this would mean that there was no electricity. But while the overall charge in the system remained neutral, the electrical particles still retained their individual properties. This allowed Zapdos to summon and wield true lightning and not just a mere cheap imitation in the form of electricity.

Ash also had a very tentative encounter with Sir Aaron's Lucario. It was he who had taught Pikachu how to recognize his inner aura. The reason Legendary and Mythical Pokemon were so strong was the fact that they had an almost instinctual grasp over aura. The Lucario line was the prime example of that. It was the main reason behind their incredible versatility. Aura was pokemon attacks at their very base forms. A sufficient enough aura adept could even negate type advantages.

Pikachu and Ash had secretly managed to hone the technique to perfection.

(A/N- Basically, if you have the ability to control energy, you can manipulate all its forms like heat and light etc. As for why the Positive or Negative Charge thing was mentioned, the ground is neutral and therefore, we have a neutral wire in our sockets and the ground serves as a well. This allows Pikachu to attract Lightning while Pikachu can internally manipulate it with Aura.)

The Marshadow slowly approached Pikachu, wrapped in red corrosive shadows that were filled with the energies of the Distortion audience waited with held breaths as they tried to anticipate what the mouse would do. The pokemon had become a crowd favourite after bringing a legendary down with a single hit, not to mention it was the fastest elimination in Sinnoh's history. The fact that it was legendary made it all the more impressive.

Ash smiled at the audience's response. Pikachu is like a symbol of hope to them, something that they can relate to. That even the most ordinary of people or pokemon could amount to something legendary. Someone that transcended their limitations and achieved power that very few could dream of. It was certainly a beautiful philosophy. Most, unfortunately, this was not the time to discuss the semantics behind people's actions

"Pikachu…THUNDER STORM," Ash ordered.

A massive surge of blue electricity was released from Pikachu's cheeks, covering the entire field in electricity. The bolts squared off against the corrupting influence of the Distortion's energies. However, Pikachu was far from done. While the storm managed to fight off the Distortional Energies, Marshadow was already approaching to hit him with a condensed wave of ghostly aura that seemed to twist and swirl around it in a mesmerizing manner.

"LIGHTNING STRIKE… end it, Pikachu." Ash barely whispered.

A bolt of violet lightning struck Pikachu from the heavens above before he was moving towards Marshadow. Faster than the eye could perceive, the mouse hit the distortional wave with his own electrified one.

An enormous shockwave erupted, the dark energies dissipating in the sky with the lightning one.

"Marshadow is unable to battle. The winner is Pikachu," the referee announced.

However, The danger was not yet over as a portal opened in the sky. A dark yellow spiked dragon erupted from the sky to reveal Giratina, in its Origin form. The Lord of the Distortion World roared to the high heavens before charging an enormous Draco Meteor and sending it into the high heavens and returning to its portal, sucking away all the Distortion energy with it.

The meteors split into thousands of particles racing towards the stadium. Pandoneuim erupted as everyone tried to escape their incoming death.

A purple feline teleported above the stadium. It charged a Psystrike before launching it towards the Draco Meteors. The attack split and neutralized every incoming strike.

"You didn't heed my master's advice, after all, Tobias," Mewtwo spoke telepathically. Having completed its mission, it disappeared.

Tobias shook with fear and rage. He returned the Marshadow back to its Pokeball.

"You were lucky Tobias, that Mewtwo managed to neutralize the hit. Even the champions would've had trouble dealing with Giratina had he decided to actually go for the kill," Ash spoke, the mic carrying his message across the stadium.

"That Mewtwo was nothing. I coul-"

"You could've managed to do NOTHING. Mewtwo is the strongest Psychic to have ever lived. Its powers surpass that of Lady Mew itself," Ash countered.

"What would YOU know of legendary Pokemon, Ketchum?" Tobias countered.

Ash and Pikachu simply snorted in amusement, Shaking his head, he instructed Pikachu to return back.

[Champion's Box]

Cynthia snorted in amusement at Tobais' comment.

"Should we restart the match?" Lucian asked. Considering the rather frightened look on the audience present, it seemed like stopping the league match was a better option.

"Not at all, This match has to go on. Besides, we have the entire Elite Four, a champion and half of the PLA Personnel.

"But you saw what the Giratina did?" Aaron spoke,

"My dear Aaron, Giratina was just sending a message. If it wanted to destroy everything, we would've been in a ruin of a stadium littered with bodies." Cynthia spoke.

Her Garchomp roared in agreement.

When the referee received the signal to restart the match, he decided on the spot that his days were over. His first task after this was to send his resignation and retire. Alolan beaches seemed quite lovely to him all of a sudden.

"Let the battle begin. Trainers, send out your next Pokemon," Referee announced.

Stay tuned. The ending is near and the battle is going to be extraordinary. Do comment on Pikachu's backstory and how it resonated with you.

I hope to continue Sortes Qui Facit as well as Tales of a Dying Heart, my Harry Potter fanfic. If anyone wishes to adopt Dulce Periculum, feel free to drop a DM and we can discuss the idea.

With love,
