This is the fifth chapter, but funnily enough, it is the 32nd prompt I have saved right now. This is quite a weird one for me, as the thing I have in mind is quite different from what I have read. Well, anyways, this is going to be focused more on the story rather than the fights, as not all stories are gonna be about fighting.
Well, let's go.
(Planet Earth)
Danger.
That was what was on the mind of the Wolf when he went to confront the Saiyans. There were two of them. A tall bald and bulky one. Nappa, he was called. He was strong, there was no doubt about that, but with some careful planning, he was defeated by the teamwork of him and his allies, though it took the sacrifice of Piccolo, Tien and Chaiotzu.
It was then that they properly noticed the second Saiyan that was present. While she, Vegeta, was shorter than Nappa, in fact, shorter than most of them, she still exuded massive amounts of power that surpassed all of them combined, and then some.
Her visage also had a bloodcurdling smile that scared the living hell out of all of them. Sure she was beautiful in Yamcha's eyes, but that beauty was lost as they were in for the battle of a lifetime.
They had devised a plan to ensure that they'd survive till Goku's arrival. It could have gone off without a hitch if they had accounted for several major variables. These included Gohan, Goku's son, willingness to attack. The poor boy had been thrown into the battlefield at such a young age without any prior experience. As a result, he had frozen up mid-combo, which gave Vegeta an opening.
And one couldn't forget that like Goku, Vegeta was able to make up plans on the spot. She had easily defeated them all. Knowing that he had to ensure their victory for Earth's sake, he tried to surprise her with a devastating kick, though she had easily dodged the attack and pierced his chest with a beam. Due to the immense pain, he fell to the ground, clutching his pierced chest trying to stop the blood.
"You all should know by now that fighting a Saiyan Elite results in nothing but death." She said as she walked over to the fallen warrior. "Though I don't think you exactly understand how painful this can be." She stated as she raised her foot and brought it crashing down onto his ankle, completely shattering the bone.
Yamcha tried to scream out in agony, but all he could produce was weak gurgles of blood that had pooled up in his mouth.
She walked up to his neck and pressed her foot on it, both Krillin and Gohan too shocked to do anything. "I believe you are getting the idea." She said as she raised her leg with the intent of crushing the air pipe of the human. As she began to bring it down, she felt herself being kicked away by someone. "WHO DARES!" She screamed as she got back up. She noticed that above Yamcha stood another warrior. He wore a similar gi to the downed warrior, with spiky hair that seemed to defy gravity. Like a Saiyan. She growled, it seemed that Kakarot had arrived. She screamed his name as she rushed in for the attack.
(Planet Namek)
Yamcha sighed as they collected another one of the Namekian Dragon Balls. After Goku defeated Vegeta, he had promptly given him a Senzu bean. It had healed several of the injuries he had gotten, except for the scar that had formed on his chest as he had used his ki to cauterize it a little to stop the bleeding. They had learned of Piccolo's home planet, Namek, and had promptly left for it in hopes of finding Dragon Balls there so they could revive their fallen allies. Since Piccolo had died, they had no chance of revival on Earth as Kami had died with him.
Goku was on his way to Namek as well, having to heal quite a lot due to the immense injuries he had sustained during the battle. While he did sustain that much damage, Vegeta wasn't any better, having to escape the planet to recuperate her injuries. From what he had heard, Krillin had her on the opposite end of a sword, but Goku convinced him to let her go. While he didn't agree with his friend's choice, he knew that Goku's decisions in the past had led to them getting several allies, Piccolo included. He gave a small chuckle as he remembered the journey they had together. He had gone in the search of the Dragon Balls, to find his birth parents. While he had been adopted by the Briefs, he had the desire to know why his original family had done so. The Briefs had found and adopted him when they had ventured into the Diablo Desert, finding him in an empty cave. His mother had told him that he was crying, likely due to a combination of heat, hunger, thirst and lack of human contact. It was then that they brought him into their family. He smiled as he remembered his family. He needed to contact his sister, Tights. Last he heard, she had been travelling the universe in search of stories.
He hoped she had not encountered Frieza or any similar people.
Speaking of Frieza, they learned that the monstrous being was on Namek as well, along with Vegeta, so they had to be careful of what they did. He clicked the Radar, trying to locate the next Dragon Ball. To his surprise, there were two of them close together. Heading off to that location, Yamcha wondered why that was so. Normally, he would have gone with an ally, but Gohan and Krillin were protecting the Namekians from the Frieza Force. Using the radio, he suggested that they bring them to their current hideout. He soon began to sense clashing ki. One of them was quite alien, whereas the other was quite familiar. He could say that he had encountered it before. It was Vegeta, fighting some weird monster-like alien. He wore Frieza Force attire, which honestly shocked Yamcha seeing that Vegeta was attacking them. Weren't they allies?
Without any question, he began to observe them from a safe distance. Vegeta and that alien dude, whose name he learned were Zarbon, were on an equal level. If he was correct, which he often was, Vegeta was a tiny bit ahead of Zarbon, which wasn't lost on the being.
"Gragh!" Zarbon yelled before he raised his ki by a huge margin, shocking both his combatant and Yamcha, and rushed in to attack her. She could have dodged the attack, but due to the sudden burst in ki, she couldn't as he crashed into her, hurting her. He grabbed her hair as he began to punch her abdomen several times, "Curse you Vegeta, curse you, curse you, curse you, CURSE YOU!" He screamed as he continued his barrage.
Feeling that she could die, Yamcha had to make a pretty tough decision. Vegeta was the reason why several of his friends were dead. But she was against Frieza as well. He wondered what Goku would have done in this situation. He instantly knew what to do. While he didn't like it, it was a person in need, and the Turtle School was taught by the principal to help everyone.
Zarbon continued to lay his punches, relishing the moment he had dreamed of for so long. He smiled as he knew that he would be the victor here, drawing back for another punch however he was then attacked by a small orb. Thinking it was a regular orb, he tried to swat it away, however, it evaded and came back in for another hit. It was then that he was punched in the face, severely. He turned to look at Vegeta, who was grinning.
"What? Too afraid of a little ball?" She asked with a devious smile as she headbutted his already bleeding face, which prompted him to release her.
Yamcha chose this moment to come rushing in with a devastating gut punch which sent the offending alien flying away for quite a few miles. Looking at the seemingly new ally, he asked, "You okay?"
Vegeta gruffly replied, "While I could handle that, thank you for the assist." She then looked at Zarbon, who was slowly getting up while clutching his abdomen. "Can you create that attack once more? I can finish him off, but I need some distractions as well." She asked.
"The Sokidan?" Yamcha asked as she nodded and then blasted off. He sighed as he created the attack, sending it against the offending alien as Vegeta continued her assault.
By no means were they allies, but they had a common foe, and to beat the aforementioned foe, they had joined hands.
(Planet Earth)
They had gathered, hiding behind at a reasonable distance. Yamcha, Gohan, Krillin, Piccolo and Vegeta had returned to Earth via the Dragon Balls, while Goku stayed on Namek to defeat Frieza. He had unlocked the legendary Super Saiyan form which allowed him to battle the tyrant with ease.
They all had presumed that Frieza had perished on Namek, but to their shock, Frieza had lived and was stronger than ever. He had arrived on Earth, with new mechanical parts and all, along with his father, King Cold. And from what they assumed, they were here with a vengeance.
It was a surprise for most of them that Vegeta was here on Earth, but wasn't wreaking destruction like she would have a couple of years ago. Tien side-eyed her, she was wearing regular human clothes rather than the regular armour she wore. "Nice shirt." He commented.
"Screw off tri-clops." She replied.
He then turned to Yamcha. His friend had offered her a place to stay at the Capsule Corporation, which came as a huge surprise for them as she had severely hurt him during the first encounter. Then again, he was perhaps the most forgiving person on the planet, behind Goku of course. He remembered how he had shattered his leg during the Tenkaichi Budokai, only for the man to forgive him after the whole debacle with King Piccolo was over.
They all prepared a plan of attack, seeing as Frieza had started to send off soldiers to attack the planet, however, it was all for nought as someone else had arrived and defeated the soldiers. The person sported wild black hair and wore a jacket of sorts.
"Could it be Kakarot?" Vegeta asked. While she could have identified him using ki sense, it was relatively a new ability for her, seeing that she had learned to harness it during the events of Namek, and while she did practice more during her stay on Earth, getting familiar with Yamcha's ki, she did not meet Goku that way.
"Doesn't seem like it." The said warrior replied, "It's not Goku's."
Down at the area of the action, the new fighter had dispatched all of Frieza's henchmen, and to their surprise, taken out Frieza as well, along with showing the familiar blonde hair form as well.
"NO WAY!" Both Yamcha and Vegeta shouted out. This new fighter was a Saiyan as well? During the year, Yamcha had asked Vegeta some questions about the Saiyan race as a whole, including the fact that only three people were left that had Saiyan DNA, Vegeta, Kakarot and his brat, Gohan. If what they were seeing were true, then that meant that others had the Saiyan DNA.
With relative ease, King Cold was taken care of as well, and that was when the fighter, who now was a woman, called out to them, "Hey, I am going to see Goku, you guys wanna come?" She asked as she flew off to a nearby mountain range.
After a short discussion, the group decided to follow her in hopes of meeting Goku. After all, if she had defeated the remnants of the Cold Empire, she was on the good side. Then again, being against them didn't mean much, looking at Vegeta, who still wasn't fully on the side of good.
"How do you have that blasted Super Saiyan form?" Vegeta asked the fighter, who just frowned a little.
"Can't say much." The fighter replied to the female Saiyan.
Discussions like this happened for a short while. The group tried to find the identity of the new Super Saiyan who wore a jacket with the Capsule Corporation logo. Yamcha did try to rack his brains for quite some time, trying to remember anyone that had a similar face to hers. For some reason, he knew she felt quite similar, he just couldn't put his finger on it.
After a short while, Son Goku finally arrived and met with the female fighter who defeated Frieza and Cold. The two had gone quite a distance away to discuss something and had a short spar in Super Saiyan. It was weird, for all of them to see this happen, Goku blocking all of the fighter's attacks with just a finger. Just how strong had Goku become?
Vegeta grinds her teeth in anger. How far had she been left behind?
Soon, Goku came back and it was a tearful reunion as the unknown fighter left the area. "Hey Goku, what did she want?" Yamcha asked as Vegeta stood back, observing them all.
"Well, she has come with a warning." The Earth-raised Saiyan replied, "She says that some Androids will come and attack… what was it? Orange City?" He started confidently but wasn't so sure anymore.
"West City." They heard Piccolo say. This shocked Goku.
"You... You heard it?"
"What can you say? Long ears like these are beneficial at times." He replied with a gruff chuckle. He then leaned onto Goku and whispered something, making Goku breathe a sigh of relief.
After Piccolo had explained everything to the group, they all knew that they had to prepare. Vegeta just frowned. She had to get that accursed Super Saiyan form once and for all. At least they had three years to prepare. It would be a good test, and she would finally defeat Kakarot and take her rightful place as the strongest Saiyan. Grabbing a hold of Yamcha's hand, much to the shock of everyone, she blasted off to Capsule Corporation. She wanted him to make her a Gravity Chamber. He had told her about it, about how Kakarot had used that to train his body while he was en route to Namek.
If he could grow that much in barely a month to reach such heights, having three years all to herself would be extremely beneficial.
(West City - Three Years Later)
Yamcha clawed at the hand that held his mouth. It had been three years since they were warned. Three years since they had been preparing for the battle that would decide Earth's fate.
And yet, even with those three years, he wasn't able to do anything. He felt his energy being drained. So the Androids had this ability, good to know.
His mind went over the events of the last three years. He had spent quite some time with the Saiyan Princess. Helping her train had allowed them to grow closer. It had deepened their relationship and Yamcha had never felt happier. It was even better when they had a kid together, Bulla. Though after that, she left him for two years. It was painful, to be honest. He had to raise her alone, not having enough time to train properly.
Vegeta had left, stating that she had to get stronger and that having a weak sparring partner like Yamcha wasn't doing her any favour. It had hurt him, to hear those words coming from the mouth of the person he loved. But he knew that he couldn't change her mind as she was far stronger than him. After she left, Yamcha longed for her. With a combination of training and raising Bulla, he wasn't able to get as strong as he would have liked.
And now, he was likely going to die because of that. 'Bulla, Vegeta…. I'm sorry.' He thought as he was suddenly pierced in the chest by the old man, Dr Gero.
He soon blacked out.
She missed him. Half of the time, she regretted leaving him to train, and she never forgave herself for using those hurtful words Regardless, what was done was done. She had to perhaps make it up to him when this whole dilemma was over.
She tried to sense ki and found Kakarot's. He was fighting, but it was weirdly low. It was then that she realized that he hadn't taken his medicine.
Reaching the place, perhaps in the nick of time, she taunted everyone. "It seems that Kakarot isn't up for the task." She goaded. She took a look around at her allies. There was that triceps, Tien. There was that monk, Krillin. Gohan was also there, along with the Namek, Piccolo. Goku was there on the ground. There was also that warrior who had defeated Frieza and Cold all those years ago. She kicked the Earth-raised Saiyan to his son when she noticed that Yamcha wasn't there. "Where's Yamcha?" She inquired.
"Yamcha is hurt." Gohan told her, "They got to him first and hurt him badly." The scene was still fresh on his mind. He cared about the man whom he considered his uncle. He was the one who protected him during the Saiyan invasion, he was the one who helped him on Namek. He even helped Gohan with his studies whenever he came to visit them. To see a whole arm piercing through his chest made the young half-Saiyan feel terrible. Gohan wanted to go out there and rip the Androids into pieces.
"Even now, I am not sure if Yamcha can survive the injuries," Tien added. Sure they had the Senzu, but they didn't use them. Yamcha forced them not to. Senzu beans took a lot of time to make, and using them when the main threats weren't even dealt with was risky.
Vegeta just stood there, not believing what had happened. Rage began to fill her as she turned to look at the Androids who stood there. They had hurt Yamcha. He could die. She looked at the ground beneath as she trembled in anger. "Tell me." She started, getting the attention of the Androids, "Tell me, has a machine like you ever felt fear?"
Android 19 raised his non-existent eyebrow at that.
Suddenly a huge burst of energy occurred and Vegeta was enveloped in a bright yellow aura. She had achieved Super Saiyan. If Yamcha could see her now, she knew he'd be proud of her. Instantly rage filled her heart again as she remembered what these Androids did and she rushed in to destroy the two.
(Cell Games)
Vegeta looked at Yamcha on the ground, as did Bulla. Cell had seemingly been defeated. Gohan had ascended past the limits of Super Saiyan and was overpowering Cell. It was a pipe dream though, as Cell had gotten the upper hand by a cheap tactic which caused Goku to sacrifice himself.
It seemed over until Cell came back and shot a beam at Bulla, her daughter from the future. Yamcha had rushed in, pushing her out of the way. However, the beam struck him square in the neck and he fell.
Cell started to taunt but she couldn't hear him. She didn't care. Yamcha was on the ground, his head being held up by Bulla. He was gurgling blood, trying to speak but failing to do so. It instantly reminded her of their first encounter, making her cringe at how she used to be.
Vegeta looked on as Bulla tried to stop the bleeding, her future daughter feeling anger as well.
Hers.
Hers.
Not just hers, but Yamcha's as well.
Theirs.
Theirs.
The Cell had hurt her Yamcha.
Her Yamcha.
It was at this point her rage stopped bubbling up and burst out. She felt immense power enter her body as electricity began to circle her and her eyes whitened. She rushed in to fight Cell alongside Gohan.
(Capsule Corporation - Seven Years Later)
Vegeta shyly entered their room. She had married Yamcha after the defeat of Cell and raised their first daughter Bulla. She had taught her how to access Super Saiyan and whatnot.
She had trained herself, along with Yamcha. She had unlocked Super Saiyan 2 as well and was decently excited to learn that Kakarot was coming back for one day for the Tenkaichi Budokai, finally having the challenge she wanted. However, it had gone south pretty soon due to the events of Majin Buu.
"Yamcha, are you here?" She asked and noticed a sudden rise in ki which relaxed soon after. She knew why that was so. Babidi had taken control over her for a moment, giving her a boost in power as well. However, it had a negative effect where she didn't seemingly care about Earth anymore. When they had been teleported to the stage, she had blown several hundred civilians away, causing fear to envelop the area. It was there when she saw Yamcha's horrified face as he couldn't believe what was happening.
While all had turned out okay, she knew that their trust had taken a hit of sorts. She had allowed Bulla to stay at the Son Family as the daughter of Krillin, Marron, was staying over as well.
She found her husband standing shirtless over a mirror, checking out his wounds. "Hey babe, in here." He had called out. She took notice of the several scars he had developed over the years. However, the one that struck the most to her was the one she had given him all those years ago.
"Are you okay?" She asked carefully. She didn't know what he thought of her when she chose to continue her fight with Kakarot rather than stay and fight Babidi.
Yamcha turned to her and smiled, "Yup now that you're back." She knew what he was talking about.
During her fight with Majin Buu, she had exploded herself to defeat the djinn, trying to atone for her sins. She knew that she wasn't going to heaven like Kakarot, Gohan, Krillin, and Yamcha. But she was willing to make the sacrifice.
During her thoughts, she felt Yamcha hug her. In an instant, she felt her worries disappear. She knew that even after all that had occurred was in the past, she should be hopeful for the future.
So what if she couldn't enter heaven, she was going to make sure that when she passed on, she would be with Yamcha even in the Otherworld. With renewed determination, she hugged him, intent on making a better future for them.
So, chapter 5 is here. I have read some stories with Yamcha and Vegeta, most of them being focused on a female Yamcha, so I decided to have a reverse of that for this one.
Until next time.
