At the Merlos household, Tate, Henry, and Tony were currently dancing to some music coming from a TV show that Tiffany was watching.
"Wow, I didn't know you guys were such great dancers." Anderson complimented. He, Cole, Tyler and Cy watched.
"Comes with practice for mating season," Henry said before he and the dancing dinos went back to their antics.
Back inside, Tiffany was watching a game show with Jackson, Kierra, and the former two's dinos. Well, at least Tiffany. Jackson was scrolling through his phone and Kierra was trying to understand what Simon was trying to describe.
"So, congratulations to Roberto! Today's grand prize winner here on 'Gobble Gobble Brain Boggle!" The man on the TV said, "If you'd like to be on 'Brain Boggle' we're auditioning contestants now. Especially cute ones, hehe." He said with a wink.
Tiffany was fixated on the host getting starry eyes just looking at him, "Nobody's cuter than you, Tommy K!"
Jackson and Kierra vaguely looked up before voicing their own opinions.
"He's not that cute."
"Not my type."
"Entries must be thirteen or older," Tommy K said before announcing the next contest. "And the theme is dinosaur trivia! That's right, dinosaur trivia!" The screen changed to show a Tyrannosaurus Rex and Triceratops in camping gear. Hearing about the topic for the next show got the teenagers' attention. "And what will the grand-prize winner take home? One cool million!" Tommy said as a picture of a million dollar check with his face on it. "And that's not all." He said as he got close to the camera again. "You'll also get these solid gold T-rex and Triceratops, not available in any store." He said as the camera displayed a picture of the golden statues.
"Oh yeah!" Anderson exclaimed.
"I want that!" Tyler followed as the two teenagers hugged the screen with stars in their eyes.
"Let's do it! We'll win that show!" Anderson declared with a fist into the air.
"Yeah, it sounds like fun," Cole admitted with a smile.
"Guess it would be cool to be on TV," Kierra mused.
"I'm down," Jackson agreed.
"Never fear! Spencer Merlos' here!" Spencer announced as he suddenly slid into the room.
"Huh?" the teenagers said as they all looked at Anderson's dad with weird expressions.
"Your entry forms," Spencer explained before holding up stacks of papers, "I've filled them all out."
"Didn't they just declare the auditions today?" Tony asked, "I mean, Simon's random, but not even he's that fast."
"Thank you Tony," Simon accepted, "... Wait a minute."
"Nevermind, let's hurry and send them in!" Anderson said.
"Absolutely!" Spencer said before daydreaming, "When these kids win that million buckos, I'll be able to remodel the whole D-Lab!" He began to imagine the D-Lab full of solid silver dinosaur statues that had the other paleontologists in tears.
"Um, guys," Cole said, "I believe it says entries need to be filled out on their website." He pointed to the TV.
Jackson squinted at the screen before seeing the tagline, "Cole's right. Entries must be filled out on our website." He quoted.
"Yaa!" Spencer couldn't take the embarrassment and crashed onto the ground as all the papers fell on top of him.
"See? Being random isn't something everyone can do," Simon smugly mentioned. Tony rolled his eyes.
"Then let's go to their website and fill one out!" Anderson said with a sense of urgency.
"Yeah," Cole said in a more calm but still excited tone.
"All right!" Spencer said as he got back up, "Today starts your first day of training! Every day until the show I'm going to hammer my knowledge of dinosaurs into your brains!" He declared with fire in his eyes.
"Yeah!" His son, Tyler, and Tiffany cheered before they all started listing what they were going to do when they win.
"Golden T-Rex!"
"Golden Triceratops!"
"Complete remodel! Golden bathroom!"
"Tommy K as my celebrity husband!"
All this time, the other three Stone users just sigh in defeat as this scene plays out. This was becoming ridiculous.
"Wouldn't hammering knowledge into their brains hurt?" Simon asked the partners.
"It's a figure of speech," Tate explained.
"It means he's going to teach them a lot," Cy continued.
"Ohhhhhhh…." Simon realized, "Whew! I was worried that they would have concussions."
At Zeta Point, the Alpha Gang themselves were going through a very challenging, if not painful, (and possibly actual hammering knowledge in their brains) training exercise. All three were tied to poles and were struggling to reach the buzzer in the middle of the room. "Times up!" Dr. Z's voice shrieked as all three were electrocuted.
"Oh, that smarts," Ed said after the voltage.
"I was almost there," Ursula said.
With the loss of concentration, all three were immediately pulled back by the ropes to the poles they were tied to. "Whoa!" Once they hit the poles, they fell to the floor. "Oof!"
"You're too slow!" Dr. Z scolded them, "How do you expect to win if you can't even make it to the buzzer!"
"But I was the closest." Ursula exhaustedly said.
"That's not good enough!" Dr. Z said as he smacked her head before returning to his desk. Like the 'brats,' they were also training for the quiz show. Though Dr. Z took much more extreme methods into making sure they knew their dinosaurs. If things went his way, he would have sent his grandchildren instead, the two having much better knowledge (and brain cells) than these three morons, and only have one of the trio along so they'd have a third member.
However, with all the homework they had, Helga refused the idea and demanded that they focused on their studies, and Dr. Z had to agree with that, much to his disdain.
So he made dew with his only available minions since Trenton was still working at Zeta Point.
Plus, the dark-haired scientist said and quoted, 'Have the idiots do your bidding as usual.'
"All right, next question. Triceratops is a herbivorous dinosaur from the ceratopsid family, true or false?" the doctor asked. Ursula responded by running to the buzzer with a huge burst of speed. After a small struggle, she was able to push the button. "Amd the answer is?" Dr. Z hopefully asked.
"I haven't got a clue," She simply responded.
The doctor's typical rage became present. "You had only two answers! It was a 50/50 chance! How could you not know that?!" He screamed while Ursula was being shocked.
Once she was pulled back in, he addressed them all, "Imbeciles!" He scolded them. "You hollow heads call yourselves dinosaur experts, but you can't tell a Tyrannosaurus tail from a chili dog!"
"One's in a bun?" Zander asked quietly.
Dr. Z ignored his comment and reminded them of the mission. "I need that million bones in prize money to fix equipment, and you brainless wonders better win it! I don't care how much you have to lie, cheat, and steal! You can threaten to have Arthur eat them on live television! I don't care so long as you get the money!"
Once the day for the show arrived, the Alpha Gang flew to Sanjo City in a pink sauropod-like chopper. "Are you sure this chopper's safe?" Ursula asked as she took note of the constant swaying from side to side. "Didn't Dr. Z say our equipment needed to be fixed?" Her answer was given by the screen in front of Ed blinking red. "Hmm?"
"The battery's OK since the light's blinking," Ed assured her.
"What?! That's the fuel light!" Ursula corrected him, "We're out of gas!"
"Well, at least the battery's working," Zander said before the chopper fell into the sea.
"Whoa… ahhh!" They screamed as it fell.
"This is where it all happens, kids." Spencer said as he stood proudly in front of the TV station. "Are you ready to win that prize?"
"Yeah!" Everyone but Cole, Jackson, Kierra and the dinos cheered.
"Man, I can't wait to see how this turns out!" Simon said, his whole body shaking. "I haven't slept all week!"
"I've noticed," Tony dryly said. He remembered how Simon constantly brought it up.
The team walked through the doors but once they entered the building they were stopped by security guards. "Hold it right there, pal!" One of them said, holding his hand out while the other was holding a stick.
"No animals allowed inside of the building unless told beforehand. They could cause a distraction." The other guard told them.
"These aren't animals," Anderson told them, "They're our friends." He was hoping this would change the guards' minds.
It didn't.
"I don't care if they're your long-lost Gramma Grizelda!" The one holding his hand out said.
"Oh!" Anderson said as his eyes widened at the harsh comment.
"Someone hold me back, I'm gonna kill him." Tate whispered.
"Ditto," Tony threatened. Both chibi dinosaurs were held back by Henry and Simon to prevent them tearing the guard apart.
"Rudeness aside, that's the rules, kid." The other guard said.
Anderson looked down in defeat while his dad put a comforting hand on his shoulder. "Now, now. Rules are rules. It'll be OK." He said before leading the teens away and glared at the one guard. "You shouldn't talk about my mother that way." He said.
Once they were gone, the Alpha Gang arrived in their disguises. "Hi! We're here!" Ursula cheered. The guard's eyes widened at the sight of them.
Ursula was wearing a yellow shirt and pink skirt. Zander had on blue shorts, which didn;t cover his hairy legs, and a darker blue suit. Ed was wearing a green shirt and brown shorts. All three had on backpacks and were wearing make-up to look a lot younger.
"We're, like, representing Alpha Middle School in the dinosaur trivia show, since we all, like, just turned thirteen," Ursula lied in a cheerful voice.
"You're all thirteen?" One of the guards asked as he looked at all three of them.
"We had late birthdays. Leap years." Zander 'explained.'
And the idiot guards apparently bought it.
With the Stone Holders, they managed to find a garage for Tate and the others to wait in while the show went on. "OK, guys, you just stay here, OK?" informed.
"Try to stay quiet."
"Out of sight."
"And out of trouble."
"We'll check on you soon."
"And Simon, don't do anything that might land you on national news."
Once the teenagers left, Peyton decided to take a nap while the others tried to figure out what to do. "It's not fair!" Simon whined, kicking a miniature prop away, "I wanted to see the show!"
"I agree, I don't want to sit here all day! I want some action!" Tate said, snapping his jaws for emphasis.
Cy nodded at their points and looked around. He soon noticed something deeper in the pile. "You guys still might." Cy said as he went over to check the item. The two other mini carnivores followed in pursuit.
While this happened, a man pushed a cart of fossil props by, which caught Tony's interest. "Wonder what that's for?" He asked Henry.
"I don't know. Looks like fossils," Henry replied before tilting his head in confusion. "Maybe for some dinosaur show?"
Tony shrugged the best he could, "Beats just sitting around." He said before he and Henry chased after the cart.
With Cy, he had managed to find an old TV conveniently lying around near an outlet. He plugged it in and the TV turned on. "Now all I have to do is find the right channel."
"I think it was on this network's main channel?" Simon said. Cy nodded and began twisting the dial with his teeth to change the channels.
"Whoa! Take a look at all of these, you guys!" Anderson exclaimed as he marveled the studio around them. "A real TV studio! It's even cooler than expected!"
Tiffany had to admit the studio was pretty cool, but she saw something even better. "Oh, there's Tommy K!" She squealed before running over to the host. "Tommy K, I'm Tiffany!" She introduced herself but was quickly interrupted.
"Oh, he is a handsome hunk," Ursulasaid before she pushed the guy Tommy K was talking to out of the way, "It's, like, so nice to meet you Mr. K," Ursula said as she grabbed his hand with a blush on her cheeks. Tommy K didn't know exactly how to react to the advances.
"Oh no, you don't!" Tiffany yelled as she noticed Ursula's presence. "What'd you think you're doing signing up for this show?! There's no way you're thirteen!" She accused with pointing her finger.
"Hey, runt, ever heard of MYOB?!" Ursula yelled back before Zander and Ed appeared behind her.
"Ursula, you better calm down," the slender man told her.
"Yeah, why is it when you're mad you sound like a grownup?" the portly man asked in a very absurd kid voice.
"Hmmm?" Ursula asked before remembering her disguise, "Oh, yeah, like, I tend to do that sometimes. Got it from my father's side of the family." She said innocently. "But you know, like, in our grade school in the South Pacific we, like, had this teacher who said yelling was a way of introducing yourself."
The teenagers just had deadpan looks on their faces.
"Oh brother." Anderson groaned.
"That's the dumbest excuse I've ever heard." Jackson admitted.
"And the dumbest disguises I've ever seen." Tyler added.
"100%." Cole commented.
"That's for sure." Kierra gagged.
"Especially the old lady's." Tiffany finished.
And just like that, Ursula's mental bomb went off. "How dare you! I'm an eighth-grader! A cute, sweet, perky eighth grader, and that's that!" She flailed as Zander and Ed both held her back.
"Ursula, stop it! You're acting like yourself again!" Zander scolded her.
"Yeah, you're going to blow our cover!" Ed added. And none of the workers heard that.
"You're not kids! Just give it up!" Anderson said as he pointed a finger at them accusingly.
"And no one's gonna fall for your phony disguises," Jackson added. Cole and Tyler nodded their heads in agreement.
"There's no disguise in the world that's going to make you look like you're thirteen." Tiffany told them.
"Kids, kids, settle down," Tommy K saud, interrupting the fight. "No doubt these kids grew so tall thanks to the South Pacific air." He said.
"Huh?" Zander and Kierra questioned, as even the former found that excuse to be stupid.
"Tommy K. Dress rehearsal in five." Someone over the P.A. said.
"On my way." Tommy K said as he left the room.
Once he and the others left, everyone just responded to his dumb reasoning.
"Warm air?" Cole asked no-one.
"How dense can he be?" Tiffany asked. This was not going well for her.
"I swear everyone here is oblivious to everything." Kierra remarked. This is why she found some pop stars absurd.
"Warm air doesn't work for me." Ed added. Ursula took this moment to break from their grip and run to the nemesis.
"You brats may know who we are, but no one else believes you. So back off, 'cause we're here to win this show!" Ursula yelled right into Anderson's face.
"Oh, yeah? Forget it! 'Cause we're here to win!" He declared before sparks formed between their eyes.
Meanwhile, the cart Henry and Tony were following dropped off the rocks at a desert-like set. "Mr. DeMilly, I brought the rocks for the fight scene." The person pushing the cart said.
"Good, let's get them on stage." DeMilly replied.
It was then Henry and Tony arrived at the set. "This should be a good spot to watch." Tony said as he laid down on the floor.
"I think this is the set for the new Sentai Rangers," Henry said as he mimicked Tony.
"Hey, those look authentic. Where'd you find them?" DeMilly asked as his assistant.
"Their props from that nature show on another set." The assistant replied. "Guy said something about them being from prehistoric times."
As he pushed the cart away, a capsule fell from it. "A capsule!" Henry said as he ran towards it and tried to open it with his mouth. "Tony, help me out here." He said as he was struggling to get it open with his lack of hands, his forelegs were only good for holding it in place.
"So, Mr. DeMilly. Where do you want these miniature dinosaurs?" Another assistant asked when he noticed the two dinos' presence.
"Must be the dogs we had dressed up to look like baby dinosaurs. Eh, throw them in the cage." DeMilly said, not realizing they were real.
'Wait, what.' Both herbivores thought before they were thrown into the cage in a matter of seconds.
"Probably should have stayed with the others," Henry groaned.
"For some reason, I can hear Simon saying this is for the plot again," Tony admitted. If any luck, they'll realize the mistake soon. But that was both a long shot and required them to not be oblivious.
"Come on, Cy. It's gonna start soon." Tate said impatiently as Cy continued flipping channels.
"I'm sorry, it might not be on this TV." Cy said right before he went past the channel the show was on.
"Go back! Go back!" Simon exclaimed and the carno nodded, turning back before the game show was back on.
The whole studio was dark, with only neon lights flashing before a single spotlight shined on Tommy K, his back to the camera. "It's 'Gobble Gobble Brain Boggle.' The show where you answer questions or get eaten." He said before he turned his face towards the camera and ran towards it. "And I'm your host Tommy K! With the theme for this week's show: Dinosaur Trivia!" He said before the whole studio lit up.
On the set were six Pac-Man like capsules, three on each side, and two scoreboards shaped like dinosaurs. "Up first we have the Paleo Team from Sanjo City!" Tommy announced before the capsules containing Anderson, Cole, Tiffany. Their team mascot was a Triceratops.
"All right, we're here to win it all!" Anderson declared.
"Yay!" Cole and Tiffany cheered in agreement.
Off screen, Tyler, Jackson, Kierra, and Spencer were watching.
"Yeah!" Tate said as his blood was boiling with excitement. "Let's see which fools would dare challenge our partners." He said smugly as he knew they had to win.
"Paleo Team…" Simon thought aloud. "Not D-Team and I guess it fits with the title. Plus we could just shorten it to P-Team."
"And their challengers, the Alpha Middle School team from Hide-Out Island in the South Pacific!" Tommy announced before the capsules opened to show the 'disguised' Alpha Gang. Their team mascot was a Tyrannosaurus.
"We're, like, so smart you'd never believe we're only, like, in the eighth grade!" Ursula announced.
"What she said!" Zander and Ed cheered.
"What?! How did they get on this show!?" Tate asked. His eyes widened when he recognized them.
"Three things: bribery, seduction, or plot." Simon guessed.
"How would seduction work?" Peyton asked as she walked over.
"Ursula obviously." The spino explained.
"Ssshhh! Don't let anyone hear you!" Cy whispered. "Let's just watch the show. Although I doubt it'll be fair." He warned everyone, including himself.
"The winner will get these solid gold Tyrannosaurus Rex and Triceratops!" Tommy said as he leaned on the case holding the statues. "Not to mention one million smackers." He added as he showed the check.
"Remember what Dr. Z said. Do anything to get the money. If push comes to shove, just ask Arthur to 'persuade' them a little." Ursula said with a mischievous smirk on her face.
"Wouldn't playing fair guarantee our victory?" Ed asked. "There are cameras and people that could catch us cheating. Then we'd get disqualified and Dr. Z will get really mad and yell at us." He whimpered at the thought, already hearing his boss' angry words in his head.
"If you're gonna be like that, then I'll answer the questions." Ursula growled as she glared at Ed, who shrunk back in response.
"It was only a suggestion." He murmured quietly.
"OK, first question, please!" Tommy announced.
"Name the dinosaur from the Cretaceous period whose name means 'tyrant lizard.'" A woman over the speaker asked.
Anderson instantly knew what it was and was about to answer, but Ursula beat him to it. "Ah!" He gasped.
"Terrysaurus!" Ursula smugly said before realizing her mistake. "Wait, that was a mistake! Redo! Redo! Redo!"
"Sorry, no redos," Tommy replied. Anderson took this opportunity to answer the question, "Yes?"
"Tyrannosaurus." He answered.
"Correct!" The audience cheered for Anderson's correct answer, and their scoreboard turned to ten. Anderson smiled smugly as he sat back down. The golden T-rex was as good as his.
"Ha, ha! That was an easy one!" Tate boasted.
"How'd you get that wrong? It's the most famous dinosaur!" Zander hissed.
"It was an impulse!" Ursula answered.
"We have literally battled one four times now!"
"Contestants with incorrect answers get gobbled." Tommy explained before Ursula's capsule closed.
Ed and Zander's eyes widened in fear. Now they were all alone. "Don't worry, she'll be allowed back in three rounds." Tommy assured them. "As long as all other members of the team aren't gobbled beforehand. Otherwise, that team is eliminated and victory immediately goes to the other team." He added. This only made Zander and Ed more worried.
"Next question!" Tommy then said to the announcer.
"Name the dinosaur whose name means 'egg thief.'"
"Oviraptor!" Someone yelled out.
"Correct!" Tommy said before falling over when he realized it was Spencer who answered.
"Did he just call me over-actor?!" Ursula growled inside her capsule.
"The dinosaur's an Oviraptor." Zander shook his head.
"More than Ursula?" Ed asked. Zander sighed as he knew this would take some explaining.
Two security guards came in and carried Spencer away. "Audience members, please refrain from answering questions." Tommy said as he wiped his face with a handkerchief.
"I'm sorry! It just slipped out!" Spencer cried as he was carried away. Anderson, Cole, and Tiffany sweatdropped as Tyler, Jackson, and Kierra shared a collective face-palm at the parent's interruption.
"Interruptions aside, next question!" Tommy announced.
"Name the dinosaur found in North America whose name means 'roof lizard.'"
Cole and Ed both pressed the button at the same time, though Cole's icon came up first.
"Your answer?" Tommy K asked.
"Ankylosaurus?"
"Sorry, that's incorrect." Tommy said before turning to Ed. "Your answer?"
"Is it Stegosaurus?"
"Correct!" Tommy cheered as the score became tied.
"Sorry, guys, I got them mixed." Cole said before his capsule closed.
"It's fine, Cole, we all make mistakes," Anderson assured him as the next question was asked.
"Come to think of it, where did we all come from?" Simon asked.
"Eggs," Tate rhetorically said.
"I mean like discovery wise." The spino clarified.
Cy thought for a while, "I believe Tate, Henry, Peyton, and Tony are from North America."
"What about you?"
"I think it was South America from what Cole has told me."
"Then me?"
"Africa."
"What about Pebbles?"
"Also South America."
Simon began to list off the dinosaurus and Cy provided him with the location to the best of his ability. Tate and Peyton tuned them out as they watched the game show.
"Lights! Camera! Action!" DeMilly announced as the recording for the Sentai Rangers was about to begin.
"Give it up, Sentai Rangers! You are no match for Blustermeister!" A man dressed up in a villain costume with a square head said to the people dressed up as the Rangers. "I'm really going to finish you off this time!" He declared.
"And how will you do that?!" The red ranger asked while he and the other four members -yellow, blue, green, and pink- drew their space themed weapons.
"With these!" Blustermeister said, pointing to Henry and Tony. "Once I unleash them, these ferocious monsters will tear you to pieces!"
Henry got to his feet and growled at the rangers. If he played the part, the actors wanted maybe they might let them out and they can escape. He then turned to Tony and noticed him still sleeping. "Tony, that's your cue!" He growled at him while keeping his focus on the rangers.
"Uh… roar," Tony added, unenthusiastically.
"What was that?" Henry asked.
"What? This is as menacing as I can be in this size!" Tony defended.
"You'll need more than that!" The red ranger told the villain.
"Then how about this?!" Blustermeister announced before his costume opened to reveal two giant gusts of wind coming from his chest.
"Whoa-ooh!" The rangers screamed as they attempted to hold their ground with the huge wind.
Little did they realize, the capsule had made its way across the set and landed right onto the set's background. Once it hit some rocks, the capsule opened to reveal two cards. The cards felt the wind run against them and they responded.
A dark blue Utahraptor with yellow markings and small crest appeared from the cards.
"Yaa!" Both the villain and the trooper shouted as they ran away from the 'Utah's predator.'
The dinosaur's appearance was immediately picked on the P-Team's holders.
"Another dinosaur!" Tyler whispered to his friends, "And the signal's coming from-"
"In here?!" They all finished at the same time.
"Cut! Cut! Who is that in the dinosaur suit?! You're not supposed to come out until the second act!" DeMilly shouted, not taking the clue yet. "Randy?!"
"Yeah, sir. The suit's here, but nobody's in it yet." Randy confirmed, holding the dinosaur costume that was supposed to be used.
"Huh!?" DeMilly exclaimed before he realized what was before him. "Then that's-"
The Utahraptor ran right up to him and roared in his face. "Aah!" Everyone screamed before running away. The Utahraptor then decided to do a little exploring.
The two mini dinosaurs saw the commotion, keeping silent.
"So…"
"Yep…"
"And now she's running loose."
"Now, we need to bust out of here!" Tony said, hitting the bars of the cage with his club tail.
In her capsule, Ursula got a call from Dr. Z. "Ursula! Why did I bother giving you an Alpha Scanner if you don't know how to use it!" He screeched before showing her a map with the dinosaur signal. "Now, wake up! There's a dinosaur not too far from your current location." He explained.
"Yes, I see it now." She confirmed.
"You'd better not blow this!" He warned her. "I'm sending you an Alpha Controller via remote control!" Dr. Z told her as said device started rocketing away from the island. "So use it and capture that dinosaur or else!"
"Yes, sir!" Ursula responded.
"And don't forget to win the one million clams!" He added. "I saw you fail so early, so help me if you lose this next round!" He screeched before he hung up.
"Give me a break. I'm trying to forget about that. Ugh." Ursula groaned in embarrassment before turning to Ed. "Ed, there's a dinosaur in the studio. Me and Zander will go grab it while you stay here and keep answering questions." She whispered.
"But I'm not good at tests!" Ed replied. Ursula rolled her eyes at the answer.
On the other side, the P-Team were discussing their plans. "So, what'd we do now?" Tiffany asked.
"I guess we quit the game." Anderson reluctantly suggested. As much as it pained him, the mission came first.
"Not all of us." Tyler said through his Dino Holder. "Six of us. Three continue to play and three search for the dinosaur." He told them.
"What about our dinos?" Jackson asked. "My guess is that whatever dinosaur it is, we still can't handle it ourselves."
Before anyone could add on, the announcer asked. "Where was Kentrosaurus excavated?"
Zander quickly answered the question. "North Korea." And he was gobbled, obviously.
"Sorry, but the correct answer was Tanzania." Tommy K said.
"Why would they say that? They own one…" Kierra said before she noticed the plan. "He answered wrong on purpose so they could sneak out!"
Anderson made a quick reply. "Tyler. Jackson. Kierra. You three find the dinosaur. We'll keep playing to win the golden T-rex!"
"And keep an eye on Ed?"
"Yeah, that too." Anderson shrugged off as he was more determined to get the trophy.
"And the golden Triceratops!" Tyler added before the three non-playing members rushed off to beat the Alpha Gang to the dinosaur.
Simon was still continuing the discussion of discovery, "So, what about Saichanias?"
Cy titled his head in confusion, "That's… an oddly specific dinosaur to ask. However, I suspect China like in the name."
"Then how about-"
"Um, guys, you might want to see this." Peyton interrupted. Simon and Cy looked at the TV and saw that only Ed remained while Anderson, Cole, and Tiffany remained.
"Why is Ed only there?" Tate asked.
"Something suspicious no doubt." Cy mused.
"Probably a dinosaur." Simon interjected.
"Maybe. I don't know what it is but Tyler, Jackson, and Kierra can handle it." Peyton reminded them of their three other friends.
"Yeah, except Simon is here while Henry and Tony are somewhere else." Cy reminded them.
"Don't worry," the spino said. "Tony's about to get his time to shine."
"Let's split up!" Tyler said and the three teenagers ran off to find the dino.
"If that dinosaur's here, then it shouldn't be that hard to find." Tyler told himself as he ran down to the Sentai Rangers' set. "Of course that would depend if this place is larger on the inside than on the outside. Then we'd be in real trouble."
"Help! It's a real dinosaur! Get out of my way!" The red Sentai Ranger screamed as he ran down the hallway.
Tyler immediately went into fanboy mode. "Hey, Red Cosmic Ranger! How about an autograph?" He asked with a smile on his face. The actor ignored him and just ran past him.
The blonde kept running when he heard more screaming. "Huh?" He looked towards the set and saw the other actors running from the Utahraptor as she chased them all around the set. "Whoa! A Utahraptor!" He exclaimed as he identified the dinosaur. He looked to where she was running and noticed Henry and Tony in a cage.
"Henry and Tony!" He exclaimed as he ran towards the cage.
"Tyler!" The trike exclaimed as he saw his summoner running over to their cage.
"Don't worry buddy, I'll get you out of here!" The blonde said as he began tugging the bars, trying to break them.
"It won't work. These bars are too hard and they run off with the keys." Tony told him grimly.
Tyler racked his brain before getting an idea. "Tony, move back." He instructed before grabbing his Dino Holder.
With the actors, they all ran out the door while the Utahraptor stopped chasing them and ran in a different location. After summoning Henry to full size and having him crush the cage with his foot, Tony was also able to escape. "Come on! Let's go after it!"
At the same time, Kierra ran into the set and saw the u-raptor chasing another target. "There it is!" She said as she came to a stop and noticed Tyler with their dinos running afterwards.
"Tyler, a Utahraptor!" She told him.
"I know!" He told her. "Henry says she showed up on the set of the Sentai Rangers."
"Let's get going!" Tony urged. "We got our summoners and we can take her down easy peasy." They all ran after the 'Utah thief' to make sure the Alpha Gang didn't get to her.
On another set, a Japanese-like show was being shot. "It's time you learned my true identity." The actor said. "I am none other than the dreaded Blue-Tattooed Samurai!" The actor removed half of his shirt and showed his blue tattoo on his left shoulder.
At the same time, the Utahraptor burst from behind and made everyone else run away in fear. "Aah!"
"Have mercy!"
"Please! Anything but that!"
"So, my tattoo has the desired effect. You should be afraid." The samurai actor said, unaware of the raptor. The u-raptor gave his tattoo a sniff before she gave a small screech. The 'antagonist' noticed this and ran away in fear. The Utahraptor gave another roar before continuing her rampage.
On another set, a crime show was being filmed. "Quiet on the set. And… Action!" The director said to the actors.
"I will now reveal the crock!" The 'detective' said before pointing to the Utahraptor, who conveniently arrived just at that moment. Of course, everyone ran away before the Utahraptor began looking around. "Aah!"
"The other day I fell asleep in my backyard lying on a big rock in the sun." One man said to another as they filmed a stand-up show.
"What are you, a lizard?" The other man asked while he tapped the man with the back of his hand. The audience laughed at his response.
"No, if I was a lizard I would have eaten that fly that landed on my foot!" The other man said and the audience laughed again at his response.
"You smell like a lizard." The other man said, and the Utahraptor appeared. She walked on stage causing the first man to back away.
"Whaa!"
Of course, the second man didn't notice. "And you sound like one." He soon felt the Utahraptor when he tapped her. "And I've never noticed it, but you even feel kind of lizardly." Finally connecting the dots, he opened his eyes and saw the Utahraptor. Of course, they all ran away while the u-raptor looked at the microphone, curious about the object.
"All right, today I'm going to show you a new recipe you meat-eaters will love!" A chef on a cooking show beam. "First, you'll start off with a juicy steak-" Before the chef could finish, the raptor appeared and ate the steak whole. Everyone ran away while the dromaeosaur continued her curious search.
"Now, breaking news." A woman in a news broadcast said, "A live dinosaur is attacking a local TV station. And since it is this one, I'll have updates for you soon. Assuming I don't get eaten." A screen depicted the wild dinosaur before it was attacked and cut to static.
Up on the station's roof, Zander and Ursula waited for the Alpha Controller to arrive.
"I hope the Alpha Controller gets here before it's too late." Zander said as he looked for a sign of the Alpha Controller.
"I'm sure it crashed and burned already or it can't find us." Ursula told him, not having faith in their leader's inventions. I mean, who could blame her? "Don't forget, it's a Dr. Z invention."
When she finished that statement, she heard the sound of an engine roaring. "Huh?" It was the Alpha Controller landed right on top of them.
"It appears to have found us." Zander mumbled.
"I noticed." Ursula commented. At that same time, the Utahraptor walked onto the roof. "There's the dinosaur!"
"And it's a Utahraptor!" Zander added while Ursula pulled out her Alpha Scanner and summoned one of their own dinosaurs to take her out.
"OKAY! COME ON OUT, SLASHER!"
The enhanced Kentrosaurus landed in front of the Utahraptor and a Battlefield appeared around them. Tyler and Kierra immediately noticed the change in colors on the walls.
"I can hear a battle!" Tyler told the group.
"Yeah, but where's the Battlefield?" Kierra asked.
"Guys!" Jackson yelled, running over. "I saw the Battlefield and presumed that one of us had it." Tyler and Kierra shook their heads at the claim.
"It's a Utahraptor!" Henry exclaimed.
"We need to hurry!" Tony urged again.
Back to the fight, Slasher swung her spiky tail right at the Utahraptor, hitting her in the gut. As the u-raptor clutched her gut in pain, Ursula took this opening to use her Move Card. "I'll finish this with one blow! And it's Spike Arrows!"
Slasher reared up, glowing purple, and fired off spikes from her thagomizers. In too much pain to dodge, the arrows pierced the Utahraptor and was carded.
"And now, I officially won." She smugly said before returning to her card. When the Utahraptor fell, the Battlefield disappeared and the colors returned to normal.
"The Battlefield is gone!" Kierra exclaimed. "Dammit, Alpha Gang!"
"Activating Alpha Controller." Zander said as he inserted the card into the device. The Alpha Controller was designed so that one places a card into a slot and it would close and the dinosaur would be brainwashed to obey their every command.
"Not only that, once it's in the controller we can summon any dinosaur at will." Zander explained, breaking the fourth wall. Ursula was calling Dr. Z to let them know about their victory.
"And while you're at it, capture those insufferable kids' dinosaurs too." Dr. Z ordered them.
"You got it." Ursula said before smiling smugly as the Utahraptor finished her 're-education.' Now she was completely trapped, and all she could do was obey their commands, no matter what they are.
The non-player P-Team members continued running through the studio before they stopped to take a breath at the Sentai Rangers set. "I can't believe the old lady beat us to the dinosaur." Tyler said disappointed.
"You'd better not be talking about me when you use a word like that, you juvenile delinquent!" Everyone turned to see Ursula yelling as she leapt into the air, flailing her arms. "How about you try this on for size? Ha!" She summoned their newly captured Utahraptor.
"Alpha Ball, activate!" Zander ordered.
A small gray ball with antennas and the Alpha Gang logo appeared and had began to circle around the u-raptor. "Must… Eliminate." She said, her voice in a robotic state.
"Ah!" Jackson and Tyler gasped at what happened.
"What did you do to her!?" Kierra demanded them to answer.
Ursula only smirked in reply. "Hehe. That's an Alpha Gang secret. Nyah!"
"Grrrr." Kierra growled before getting her Dino Holder ready. "Have at 'em, Tony!"
"It's clobberin time!" The anky said with enthusiasm before Kierra called him back and swiped her card.
"DINO SLASH! ROCK N' ROLL, ANKYLOSAURUS!"
A smaller form of Tony spun around in a purple dimension before his transformation began. Rocks made his feet grow larger before they moved to his armored back and club tail. His eyes glowed purple before he reared up on his hind legs and roared to signal the finished transformation.
Tony landed, full size, and showed his tail as the Utahraptor pounced.
As the battle began, the game show had just reached its final round and both scores were tied at 210 points. "It all comes down to this." Tommy K announced. "Whoever gives the correct answer will be today's grand-prize winner!"
Anderson, Cole, and Tiffany were in, having a few gobble moments while Ed was still in it. Each person had their hands above the button, ready to answer.
"I never expected this to actually play out normally." Tate admitted.
"I must admit I'm also surprised." Cy added. "I was sure they would do something to cheat, but Ed has been playing fair the whole time. If he wins at least, he'll deserve it." The others nodded in agreement.
"It seems two contestants from Alpha Middle School. But given how one contestant is left and are at a fair game, this is fair." Tommy said before shaking his head. "Blblblbl! Here's our final question!"
"Why do you think they aren't there?" Peyton asked.
"Oh, there was a dinosaur running loose in the studio," Simon nonchalantly said.
"And you didn't tell us!?" Tate exclaimed.
Simon shrugged, "You guys didn't see the Battlefield?"
The t-rex noticed the scenery too. "Hey, yeah! Do you think Tyler and the others got it?"
"Hopefully." Peyton said, worried about the dinosaur's safety.
"Come on, the chances of that are low…" Simon said ominously, "But never 0."
"Way to be positive." The three dinos sweatdropped.
Back with the announcer asked. "This dinosaur was discovered in North America and was given a name which means 'Utah Thief'."
Anderson knew the answer and was about to press the button until Ed beat him to it. The P-Team gasped in horror. While they were glad that at least one of their enemies played fair, they still wanted to win.
Moreso, Anderson though.
"And your answer is?" Tommy asked.
Ed didn't answer right away. He began to fret as he thought of the correct dinosaur. 'Come on, Ed. Which one is it? Fukuiraptor? Megaraptor? Velociraptor? Atrociraptor? Deinonychus?' He thought as he began naming raptors and turning his face blue.
"Time is running out." Tommy said, only making things worse for Ed who was sweating profusely.
Then the portly man remembered. "Aha! It's-"
But before he could answer, the Utahraptor burst from the screen behind him. "Aah!" He screamed as his capsule collapsed on top of him.
"Aah! This is not in my contract!" Tommy screamed as he ran away from the dromaeosaur.
"Well, today's dinosaur is Utahraptor." Simon said. Anderson, Cole, and Tiffany were in shock and quickly exited their capsules.
"Get back here!" Tony roared as he ran into the studio and began to chase the Utahraptor in circles. The anky tried hitting the raptor with his tail, only for her to dodge every attack.
"Eliminate." The 'Utah's thief' leapt onto Tony's back, making it hard for him to reach.
"Get off me!" Tony yelled as he shook the dromaeosaur off. The u-raptor landed on her feet and screeched.
"Man, Tony is fierce when he fights." Tyler commented, having never seen the anky actually fight before, as his group returned.
"Ugh! The Utahraptor's too fast!" Kierra yelled in frustration.
"Our dinosaur?" Cole asked.
Jackson gave a grim look. "Not exactly ours… The Alpha Gang caught her before us and messed with her somehow."
The two dinosaurs separated from their struggle to take a small breather, Zander and Ursula appeared behind the Utahraptor. "Shriek, dear, be a good dinosaur and tear them to pieces!" Ursula ordered as the ball was summoned around the raptor again.
"Destroy." Shriek droned.
"What was that?" Tiffany questioned.
"Somehow they're using that ball to control the Utahraptor. I'm calling out Henry." Tyler said before he geared up his partner.
"DINO SLASH! TRICERATOPS, ROAR!"
"You'll need more than that to save you." Ursula said before activating Shriek's Move Card. "Atomic Bomb!"
Shriek roared before she jumped high in the air. When her back was facing her opponents, she began to descend, picking up momentum as she did so.
Tyler was unfazed by this. "We have a counter for that! Right, Henry?"
"Yep!" He said before getting ready.
"Electric Charge!"
Electric flowed through the trike's body before he leapt up like he did with Pebbles and countered the Atomic Bomb.
Everyone ducked as electricity and wind began flying everywhere. Tate and the others covered their eyes as the light was blinding. "Gaah!" A lightning bolt managed to strike Zander and Urusla, frying them both and rendering them paralyzed.
When the two dinosaurs landed, Henry shook his head while Shriek stumbled around a bit.
"That slowed her down. Now's your chance!" Henry told Kierra and Tony.
"Alright! Tony, try not to bring down the house! Mole Attack!"
Tony glowed purple and dug beneath the set. With purple rays as indication where he was, he managed to kick the dazed u-raptor into the scoreboard which managed to defeat her.
Tony reappeared and shook himself clean. "Hopefully, they don't bill us for the damages."
All this time, Ed watched in safety from the fight. Once the raptor was defeated, he rushed over, pressed the button, and answered. "Utahraptor!"
"Utahraptor is correct." The PA said.
Tommy blinked before realizing they were still on the air. "Uh… Yay! We have our winners! Congratulations to the Alpha Middle School team!"
A woman came and gave Ed the large check of money. "Wahoo!" He cheered with tears in his eyes. "Miracles do happen!"
While Ed celebrated one of their goals, Shriek's cards landed on the floor and Cole managed to pick them up this time. "Awesome, we got the dinosaur and Move Card!" He said with a small fist pump.
"Those runts got our Utahraptor." Zander moaned, still in pain from the electricity.
"Well at least we have the money." Ursula said as Ed dragged his two fried teammates away with the money in his hands and a spring in his step.
"Always look on the bright side." Zander groaned as they disappeared.
When they were gone, all the cameras focused on Henry and Tony.
"Wow, dinosaurs!"
"I can't believe my eyes!"
Henry and Tony tried to back away slowly from the cameras and flashing lights, afraid the secret is out.
"Tyler, Kierra, call them back!" Anderson whispered to their friends.
"Right!" Both summoners said and the dinos disappeared. With the two reptiles gone, the cameras looked at a shocked Tommy K.
"Uh. That's all the time we have for 'Gobble Gobble Brain Boggle.' See ya next week, folks." He told the audience before fainting.
After regaining consciousness, the Alpha Gang used the Alpha Controller to fly back to Zeta Point. It was at this point Dr. Z decided to call them. "Alpha Gang, report! So you won the show, but more importantly what about the cards?!" He asked.
"A funny thing happened to them," Ursula mumbled so the doctor couldn't hear her.
"But we do have the money so you should be happy about that." Zander assured the doctor while holding the check up to show at least one of their successes.
"I'll be happier when it's in my hands!" Dr. Z told them.
"Come on, what could go wrong now?" Ed said confidently, riding the success of his knowledge.
As per usual and saying the magic word, their luck ran out when the controller exploded.
"Thanks, Ed." Zander and Ursula deadpanned as they fell into the water.
At the D-Lab, Cole, Jackson, Kierra, and all the dinosaurs were standing in the lab's control center.
"Everyone ready?" Cole asked as he had both of Shriek's cards. All the dinosaurs nodded.
"OK, be ready for an attack." He said before he placed both cards into slots.
When he did, a white glow emerged and Shriek appeared in the middle of the room, lying on the ground. She stood up, shook her head and looked around. "What happened? Where am I now?" She asked.
"You're at the D-Lab." Tony told her. "Tell us, what's the last thing you remember?"
The u-raptor thought for a bit before answering. "I was attacked by this… Stegosaurus?"
"I think you mean Kentrosaurus." Kierra corrected.
"Right." Shriek confirmed and continued. "She shot some arrows at me. And that's all I remember."
Everyone present blinked in confusion. "Wait, you don't remember attacking us?" Henry asked.
The dromaeosaur shook her head. "No, I was mainly looking around to see how everything has changed. I've always been fascinated by how the world had evolved, and these changes were almost too much for me to handle. I was close to fainting."
"So, basically, you're really smart?" Jackson questioned.
"Raptors were known to be geniuses in our time. It makes sense." Pebbles answered.
"Yeah, that pretty much sums it up. But I'm still lost as to what happened to me? Why would I attack you and not remember it?" Shriek asked.
"The Alpha Gang." Everyone growled.
"They used some kind of ball to control you." Jackson explained. "It must have been destroyed when Henry's Electric Charge collided with your Move Card."
The teenagers clutched their hands in rage. "So this is what they do to dinosaurs. To all of you if they got their hands on you. Brainwash and used for experiments." Cole growled.
"This just got personal." Kierra added.
"Simon, you have my full permission to eat them next time." Jackson finished.
"How dare they!" Peyton shouted in an outburst.
"They'll pay for this!" Chloe roared as the three other theropods agreed.
"I'd like to take a bite at those bastards. Count me in." Shriek said, glad to be free from her 're-education.'
"Someone should tell Tyler, Anderson, and Tiffany about this." Tate told them.
"Yeah, but they're suffering from a case of losing-to-a-supposed-idiot-idous." Simon explained before turning cheerful. "But at least we have a team name: the Paleo Team or P-Team for short."
"I doubt that's a serious case." Cole assured him before musing. "The Paleo Team… It's not bad. Jackson, Kierra, what about you too?"
"I like it."
"Ditto."
"Then, I guess from now, we are the Paleo Team. Probably should tell the others tomorrow." Cole said. The war just got more intense.
Meanwhile, Anderson, Tyler, Tiffany, and Spencer were currently crying about their loss in the Merlos living room.
"I really, really wanted that golden T-rex!"
"I wanted that golden Triceratops!"
"And I was counting on the one million dollars!"
"And Tommy K was such a loser!"

A/N: Not much to say about this chapter. Pretty much is the same except that three stayed for the entire game while three searched for the dinosaur this time. Wasn't intentional but gave Kierra and Tony a chance to battle.
And now, the Stone Holders have their official team name: The Paleo Team or P-Team for short. Kinda fits with the title.
Also the Sentai/Power Rangers instead of the Dino Troopers, random change. I'm a fan of Power Rangers and in Japan its referred to as Sentai Rangers. Dino Troopers might just turn into a bootleg show at the Ninja Village.
And all the transformation sequences are finished… for now.
