Meet Braylon Fermin... a fifteen year old boy with emotionless eyes; as if light does not reflect from them. An exceptional brawler with no memory of his past, all he knows is his name and that the day he woke was the day Bakugan fell from the sky. But, now with his new friends and a mission to save Vestroia; will he ever learn of his past or will he guide himself to to future.

5. Silent Corruption

I walk up grabbing Haos Leonidas, "Are you ready to get stronger?" I ask him and he pops open. "I was born ready!" he declares making me laugh. "What is funny!" he almost growls out and I roll my eyes. "Lose the attiude," I shoot back going to my box and grab Haos Robotallion and Haos Saurus. "Are you finished?" Haos Leonidas asks me. 'God, can he be anymore impatient,' I tell myself.

We leave the apartment and start to make are way to the park, 'I wonder how Dan is doing,' I ask myself before shaking that thought out my head, as we come to the park I don't see anyone around, "Where is everyone?" I say loudly. "There is no one here," Leonidas tells me. 'But why?' I think to myself, "Braylon Fermin, I heard about you," I hear a male say, I start to look around for the voice, but I don't see anyone.

"Come out here!" I yell out, tired of this hiding. "But, why it is so much better to see you struggle," the voice says. "Masquerade, he sent me… to deal with you," the voice says... "Now how about you follow the sound of my voice," he tells me and I hear it coming from the thicker part of the woods in the park.

I walk into the thick patch of trees, "Yes! Follow my voice," it says. "I'm coming! Shut up!" I yell out, "People like you and Masquerade are scum… I will take you all down, even alone if I have to!" I declare as I come to a opening, 'Where the hell is he?' I think to myself as I come to a field of sunflowers. "Where the hell is he!" Leonidas yells.

"How about you turn around," the voice says… I turn and see a green haired boy with matching green eyes, "I am Yamato, and I am here to beat you!" he says taking out his Doom Card, and I can feel something dark almost enter me, 'What was that?' I think as I look around.

"Anyone working with Masquerade is my enemy," I tell him taking out my own Gate Card, "I will take you down!" I yell out as my card flashes white, "Field Open!"

"Are you ready for this?" he asks me dropping his Doom Card to the floor, "Doom Card…Set!" I clench my eyes again as I feel some dark enter my mind, I look around again, 'It has to do something with that Doom Card, but I feel like I felt it before,' I think to myself, looking back to the angry outburst during Dan's Brawl and my own. 'Does it have to do something with how I got here? Maybe the Silent Core,' I conclude… "No time for that now," I say out loud. "Gate Card! Set!" we both yell

Throwing another Gate Card to the field, "Gate Card… set" I say calmly trying lose my anger.

"Send me out!" Leonidas demands, I nod and throw him out. "Haos Leonidas! Stand!"

"Leonidas? Masquerade said nothing of a Bakugan like that," Yamato says throwing his right hand out, "It's no matter, I will defeat you!"

"For such a big dragon, he is not very big," Yamato laughs out. He grabs one of his Bakugan, 'Darkus? Makes sense with him,' I think to myself as he throws it onto the field. "Darkus Reaper… Stand!"

'Reaper? I never heard of that Bakugan.'

"I shall destroy all of you!" Reaper exclaims. 'He talks as well… and he is okay with destroying his own kind?'

"Do you like him? He was a loan from Masquerade if I beat you I get to keep him," he tells me. "Now let's show you how to brawl," he tells me making my eye twitch. "I'll show you what I am made of!" I declare throwing out another one of my Bakugan, "Haos Robotallion… Stand!"

"Stalemate!" I say as neither Bakugan is stronger than the other. "That's what you think, Ability Activate! Dark Flame!"

Reaper flies in and slashes Robotallion sending him to the Doom Dimension, "How dare you!" I yell out… feeling the darkness surrounding me again. 'Calm down,' I tell myself as Yamato catches Reaper.

"What are you doing! We could have took him down!" Leonidas yells at me. "Such a disappointment," Yamato says which strikes a nerve.

I grab my Haos Saurus and throw him onto the field, 'Keep yourself together, don't let whatever is happening take over.' I tell myself, "Haos Saurus… Stand!"

"This is so pathetic, why Masquerade feels the need to take you out is beyond me, but whatever," he shrugs throwing another Bakugan to the field. "Darkus Warius! Stand!"

"Gate Card Open!" I command as the field turns yellowish white

"Now let's do this," I say throwing an ability card to the field, "Ability Activate! Lightning Tornado!"

Ability Activate; Lightning Tornado: -100 Gs from Opponent Bakugan and add it to your Bakugan

Haos Saurus: 400 Gs

Darkus Warius: 250 Gs

He starts to clap, as Saurus begins to charge, "Ability Activate, Doom Companion," he says softly throwing it onto the field.

Ability Activate; Doom Companion: Destroys all Bakugan on a Gate Card (Must have a Darkus Bakugan on the Gate Card)

Another Doom Dimension Gate opens up taking both Saurus and Warius away. I falling onto my knees holding my head. Feeling the darkness creeping in, 'Succumb to it, it shall bring you power,' I hear a voice call in my head. "Shut up! Shut up! SHUT UP!" I scream. 'Can't you taste it? It's the corruption of the Silent Core,' the voice tells me.

Yamato: 2/3

I feel myself stand up with a smirk, "If that is how you want to play, let's play," I hear myself tell Yamato. "Braylon? What is wrong?" Leonidas asks, and I snap back at him, "Shut it! I am the master, you will obey my word!" I hear myself say to Leonidas, 'No! That isn't me' I think trying to get the voice out.

"Finally now this is getting fun," Yamato cheers throwing another Bakugan to the field, 'Darkus Stinglash… Stand!"

"Time to take out the garbage," I hear myself say, "Gate Card! OPEN!"

"Still not good enough," I hear him say. My body growls at him, 'Let me out!' I yell but nothing happens. "Ability Activate! Blinding Spice!"

Ability Activate; Blinding Spice: If you have a Darkus Bakugan in battle. Cancel out the Gate Card and decrease your Opponents Bakugan by -50 Gs

I can feel my body start vibrating until I realize I am laughing, "Do something!" Leonidas yells as he is getting attacked. "Shut it you over grown dragon," I hear myself spit out, "Ability Activate! Alpha Blaster!

Haos Leonidas: 490 Gs

Darkus Stinglash: 330

Leonidas shoot a giant ball of light at Stinglash destroying it and sending back to Yamato landing in front of him as my body catches Leonidas

Yamato: 1/3

"Fuck yes! Finally! This is what I been waiting for!" Yamato yells out. "Shut it, you annoying weed," I hear myself yell at him, and my body throws my Final Gate Card, "Gate Card…set, let's end this."

I pick up Leonidas, "You will destroy him or I'll gladly let the Doom Dimension have you!" I hear myself laugh. 'That isn't me!" I scream out, 'Give me my body back!"

"Bakugan Brawl!" I hear myself say, "Haos Leonidas! Stand! Finish this maggot!"

"Time for him to say goodbye. Get him Reaper," Yamato yells out throwing Reaper onto the field, 'Darkus Reaper! Stand!"

My body starts to laugh again, "You won't last, Gate Card open! Grand Spirit!" I hear myself laugh out.

I see him throw another ability card, "Your time is up," Yamato says, "Ability Activate! Death Scythe!"

Darkus Reaper: 570 Gs

"You worthless Dragon, you made me lose the brawl!" I hear my body say… 'NO!' I yell out and it finally breaking through, "Leave my body alone!" I yell out as a card appears in my hand, "Braylon! Use the card," Leonidas says.

"I will never lose to anyone like you!" I promise, "Ability Activate! Scales of Judgment!"

Ability Activate; Scales of Judgment: Averages Your Bakugan and the Opponents Bakugan G-Power. Add +100 G power to a Haos Bakugan. (Can only be used once per Brawl no matter what.)

Haos Leonidas: 580 Gs

Darkus Reaper: 480 Gs

"What!" Yamato yells as Reaper curses me and Leonidas. "Now fall to my power!" Leonidas yells shooting a giant ball of light at Reaper.

Braylon: 1/3

Yamato: 0/3

The field disappears and the world returns to normal and I look around to notice I am alone in the flower patch. I fall to the ground, "I am sorry Leonidas, I… that wasn't me," I tell him and he hovers quietly. "I… something is taking over me… the voice said it was due to the Silent Core," I tell him.

"So, we are both affected due to the Silent Core," he says not looking at me. "You are tainted by it while it led to my creation. I knew it was not you from the moment… it happened," he tells me and I sit up. "What how?" I ask him and he sits there and slowly hovers down into my hand.

"Your eyes do not reflect light. Yet, when the corruption happened it did," he tells me. "It did not corrupt you like it did Hal-G and Masquerade, but I do not know why," he says turning and looking at me. "I do not believe I am of this planet, my dreams I think I am of a world called Vestal and I was transported here during the merging of the two worlds," I tell him feeling a weight off my shoulders seeing as I have been having dreams become more vivid each day.

"Vestal? I have not heard of that world… but, that may be due to my birth. Is there anything else you know?" he asks me and I nod, "I believe I was suppose to be recon to help take over Vestroia."

That is the last thing I say when I pass out from exhaustion. Not once noticing the messages Dan was sending me.
