Kung Fu Panda: The Chi´s tribute (Part ") - The land of the gods

"Dragons.

Creatures from myths, legends fairytales.

Even called gods. Gods, who vanished from the world, without any footmarks left.

But before they did, they gave China a gift.

Snakes.

Descends from the god, burn in their fire, carrying their flames in their venom.

They were born to this world, protecting it and bring peace once they came.

But instead of being thankful for what they have done, the villagers of China, filled with fear about what they did, banished them. Even more, hunted them.

Killed them.

The survivors split into two different civilisations.

The one who wished peace with the villagers, and the ones yet still hungered for vengeance.

Both sides succeeded in their way.

The one side brought peace back where it left and started living with the people.

And the others, hidden in the wild, still manage to slaughter those who betrayed them.

That for, they are feared, but also loved. To the people, they are blessings, for other people monsters."

Until one faithful day, the clans might reunite to a big huge nation of..."

"Don't say it, Po. I swear."

"Don't listen to Viper. Please, say it."

"I warn you!"

"A nation of-"

"Noodles!"

"Hey! Monkey! Get the hell out of here! I'm the one talking!"

"I'm just saying what everyone thinks! No! Viper! Please! It- It was just a jooOOKE!"

"…"

"Is he… going to be alright?"

"I suppose. If you want to go after him, Crane… anyhow, Po, you were saying?"

"… Yeah. The eh… nah, now I forgot it! Dang it! It was the best part!"

"The… Po, I can't even recall this part, you were going to say. The last sentence was…"

"An awesome Fu-Ish destiny, Mantis, that-"

"You brought up."

"…will be even closer than we might think! Perhaps the story will begin… in this very moment…"

"… I can't see anything…"

"I said… NOW!"

The war where the alliance struck against the Jade Palace was over.

And with the reclamation of the peace, normality returned into the life's of the citizen from the realm of the Jade Palace: The Valley of peace.

At some places still were some outlaws, trying to use any chaos that was left for their profit.

But all in all it was nothing a few Kung Fu warriors weren't capable of handling, for which Tigress, the new master of the Jade Palace, was thankful for.

Since Shifu left the palace she did her best to manage it at least as good as he did.

At the start it was more deterrent and hard but in time Tigress slowly became more comfortable with it.

Though it was hard for her sometimes to accept her new status.

The new period of peace gave her all the time she needed while the training went on without any delay.

Po still trained the Furious Five in the training hall and all of them had their own students they took care of.

Just one thing changed magnificently: Without Shifu's presence, the training of the Furious Five changed. The daily training became a new feeling. There was no master of wisdom any more. But more importantly, Tigress had to skip some training sessions because of her duty as the new master of the Jade Palace.

She was never aware of how much political and organisational issues Shifu had to deal with, not to mention all the events she was now supposed to remember while managing the daily mess like getting up and being overwhelmed with news she was supposed to respond to quickly even before breakfast. Then organising all of the guards, work plans and handling visitors.

And next to all of that she tried to also live and be herself.

She was told this was an exception state since the war just happened and many reparations of places needed to be organised, even though the alliance was pretty careful with their splash damage.

She was needed to ensure everything was running smoothly since the trust wasn't guaranteed yet, despite any official agreements from all the chieftains.

On some day Tigress received a message about some rumours she, at first, mostly just ignored. It was about some people got attacked in the forests, but yet nothing precise or confirmed.

She did not want to send someone out to investigate some rumours some body could just have made up. And with her new rank, she had other issues to worry about and no time for that. Issues, Shifu formerly was supposed to take care of. Her friends, the other members of the furious five, often suggested to take some of her duties. Everyone knew Tigress wasn't the most patient and well-mannered person in the world. Invitations to other peoples houses in order to discuss some political topics or even just for a ritual, a noble party scared her.

As an orphan she never used to know how she should act in certain situations.

Viper started an attempt to teach her the most important facts and even tried to undertake her noble issues but the people refused to talk to anyone but the master of the Jade Palace herself.

The training sessions suffered from this influence the most. It was lucky to get at least one hour per day to train together, in which they didn't got interrupted by some urgent messages, which mostly contained minor important issues.

Common issues about the village or the surrounding province like some obscurities with the rebuild organisation from the war or Who's responsibility is this village's house which is at the rim of two areas, was a sentence she heard often enough, or another example: If this villager's house wasn't destroyed, why shouldn't he help with the rebuilding though?

The most disgusting emergency she ever heard was a villager who, when she arrived, said: I think they stole some belongings from us, after calling it a dire emergency in the letter. They could have stolen it.

That was not worth her time or nerves to play detective while the engineer waited to inspect the hall of heroes.

Things changed when the messages and conversations about the issue with attacked people did not stop increasing and made people not longer going into the eastern forest any more because of the fear for a monster within it.

"That's it. I will handle this problem now personally," she said and the messenger, like most messages, a goose who brought her the scroll with the news, bowed and then flew away.

The sun shined around the area but dark clouds already confirmed the approach of rain. She better hurried with her plan before she would unnecessarily got wet.

Tigress left the hall of heroes immediately and looked after her friends who had a last few minutes of Po's training.

Seeing her friends joking around something unimportant without the teacher's presence put a smile on her face but she immediately lost it few seconds later.

The scene reminded her: Since she took Shifu's position she had less time to actually train on her own. It was, again, a training she missed.

That made a little rift in her relationship with the others of the pentad. Though nobody really changed, Tigress was on a higher position now and had to manage so many things Shifu used to do. She even started to wondering if she was still worthy to be called a member of the Furious Five, or would the people start calling them now the Furious Four?

The five always were together and did everything as one.

No! She shook her heat. That was nonsense! Why should something like that ever happen? They were always five, and always will be. No more, no less.

The Furious Five will always be together, no matter what comes! She made a smile and waved at them when she came closer: "Hey guys!" she greeted with a happy smile on her face again.

Now looking at them again, it seemed like Po squeezed them again trough the destiny doom fire tunnel. A brand new training tool the students have to pass. Except for Viper and Mantis, everyone had at least a few smut from the fire on their bodies. So it must have been pretty effective training for at least half of the team.

"Tigress!" Monkey said and looked up at her while his half side was a bit charred: "What makes you showing up here? What did we wrong?"

Tigress smirked. "'Ey! What's the manner here? I'm more than worthy to show up wherever I want, Monkey. Not just to use my new rank to tease you."

"Heh. Oh, sorry, Your Highness," he said grinningly.

She sighed, looked a bit aghast but took it as one joke between friends. After all, that's what they were. "I told you to stop calling me that way! I'm neither a highness, nor am I your highness, Monkey!"

After saying that she turned to Viper and Crane. They looked in good shape except for the fact Crane tried to hide his wounds. She wasn't surprised Viper had no wounds at all. She always was the best dealing with fire and unexpected flames and everything around this. But especially since they started to train again after the war, she seemed to have some mayor improvements but yet she didn't quite understand why. Tigress said: "I need you two. There are some scary rumours around the forest."

"Ah yeah, heard about that," Viper responded. Crane nodded and continued:

"A monster attacking people which are passing that area. But I thought that are just rumours of some lower outlaws or people who want to use the situation to their advantage and being funny. This would maybe a good job for the local agencies or some of our students maybe. The Wings of Justice should arrive the next days from their exercise. I'm sure they are more than suitable for-"

"Crane," Tigress looked at him expectantly for a moment and said: "I though you would be more happier about an adventure. It surely won't be as huge or exciting as the fight against Shen or suchlike but it may be something. A chance for a bit of fresh air."

"I don't get it," Mantis wondered and turned to Tigress: "Why do you need those two? Me and Monkey are more ready for a mission than Crane is together!" He looked down. "Wait. That made no sense..."

"Hey!" Crane commented on that statement with a slight cranky voice. "If you don't mind, I'm right here and listening."

Tigress looked down on the most brave mantis she ever knew. "Mantis. I know but what I need is just Crane flying across the sky and Viper scouting on the ground. You know they are the better scouts than the rest of us."

Viper sighed behind her back. "Always. It's always me getting the dirty job…"

Tigress continued: "And when I know which rumour we are following I will take you two if I need to. I mean… as I said, that's most likely not a threat like Tai Lung. And if so, I give you permission to take eh… Po with… you…" She looked around: "You guys have any Idea where he is by the way? Don't tell me you lock him into a room again?"

Crane directed Tigress towards the stairs. "No. To be honest, he stumbled when trying to pick up a cookie and I guess he is already on his way up again. But I would have to lie if I say we had nothing to do with it."

"Could still take a while before he gets up again," Mantis added. "It is just thirty minutes or something since he fell down. But he just refused to do some training on his own today. You know him. We thought we thought help him on that matter. To show our thanks to him."

Tigress sighted smilingly while shaking her head slightly. "Okay. Now, if I see something dangerous worthy to be handled by you I'll let you know as soon as possible. In the meantime you two waiting here for him."

"And if anyone needs a doctor?" he asked.

"If she needs a doctor, she will let a doctor know, Mantis," Viper said and started to slither away.

"Hey, what do you mean by that? I am a fully licensed doctor, you philistine!" he shouted at her.
